I love all the different poses/illustrations done with this character, some very elaborate and beautiful, and some very funny (the also applies to the mature themes in the story; it can be beautiful AND funny)

Oskar is comfortably nakey (though, this is very simplified, and more of cute pin-up pose, so no detailed nudity), and I had fun making a couple versions of his scales/feathers; the default relaxed look, with everything folded smooth against his skin (he's a pale blue, with shiny scales, and colors in his hair that reflect with pale pink/turquoise, like the inside of a seashell), a fluffed-up version like when he's very happy and preening (his hair fluffs as well, and he has a small smile with a blush in his cheeks), and a third version in which he has been UPSET so the scales are now SPIKED up (and his hair is also raised; make yourself look bigger to defend against predators!) with his eyes now open in fright. The fourth version is a fun little species-swap with another fantasy creature; Oskar is now a pretty unicorn boy (he's more of a peachy color, with light brown freckles that fade into fuzzy white hair on his arms and legs, his feet now have hooves, his ears are shaped more like a deer, he has a spiral horn, and a long tail that ends with a silky tuft). All versions are the same pose with Oskar leaning down on his knees, one hand reaching to touch his thigh, his other hand bent up across his chest, and were done in MS Paint with a mouse

Denman is haunted by ghost-like figures, scratching at her ankles, and trying to pull her under. A sheet of ice envelopes around her as she's diving, just long enough to make her sure she'll die. And then it evaporates. The seas twist in ways they shouldn't, and flames spark blue.

From her studies, before she was forced to relinquish her subjects, she found that blue flame - the hottest flame - came only when Rikki was drove to the purest form of rage.
