You shut Telemachus’s door behind you, strutting farther in without knocking. 

“Gods!” Your brother cried, jumping out of his seat in surprise. You’d approached silently, not making a sound as you had entered his room. Now, you stood right in front of him; he’d leaped out of his chair and whirled around to face you. His shoulders relaxed as he saw that it was only you. “You really need to stop doing that, Y/N.”

You placed your hands on your hips sassily as you smirked. “Make me,” you challenged.

Telemachus’s lips twitched up in a smile. “Oh, it’s on!”

He lunged at you, arms out to tackle you in a hug, but you sidestepped, giggling. His room was huge, so you had a lot of space to dodge your brother’s advances. Telemachus grabbed your wrist, but you latched onto his forearm with your other hand. With what seemed like practiced grace, you judo-flipped him, ending up on his stomach with your knee in his chest. 

“Mercy!” Your brother teased. “Let me up, Y/N!” 

You tapped your finger to your chin as if considering. Then you looked back down at him with a wide smile. “Only if you help me.”

Telemachus narrowed his eyes. “What would I be helping you with?”

“Oh, y’know,” you said casually. “Just some revenge.”

“Y/N-”

“On Antinous,” you added, knowing that your brother would do anything to get back at his bully. You stuck out your hand, looking at him expectantly. “Well?”

Telemachus sighed, grabbing your hand, giving it a firm shake before you hoisted both him and yourself off of the ground. “It’s a deal.”

“What did he do to you?” Telemachus asked, wide eyed after you explained the plan to him.

You bit your lip, debating whether to tell him or not. If you did, he might go into over-protective brother mode, but if you didn’t, he’d probably have to find out from Antinous himself. You sighed. “He kinda made me kiss him…”

“He raped you?”

“No, no, no!” You said quickly, throwing up your hands. “It wasn’t like that. Earlier, I snuck out again- don’t you dare tell mother,” you snapped when he opened his mouth. “And I killed a deer. Like usual, y’know? And then when I was trying to climb back up the wall, I used an arrow tied to a rope in order to shoot it up there, because, this is like a huge buck we’re talking about. So I climbed up, easy-peasy. But when I tried to come down…” You trailed off.

“Your foot got tangled in the rope,” Telemachus guessed. “Again.”

You huffed, crossing your arms. “Yes, again,” you grumbled. “Long story short, I was hanging upside down, blood was rushing to my head, blah, blah, blah. Then Antinous found me- I don’t even know how; he’s not known for taking strolls- and he bribed me. A kiss in exchange for getting him down.”

“You didn’t actually…” Telemachus twitched his eyebrows.

You giggled. “Of course not, brother!” You exclaimed. “You should’ve seen me; you would’ve been so proud of my acting skills! He actually bought the ‘Damsel in Distress’ thing that I was pulling off!”

Telemachus chuckled, visibly relaxing. “Alright,” he said. “How’d you weasel your way out of that one?”

“Well,” you started. “He never specified where to kiss him, the imbecile. So I simply walked over and kissed him on the cheek. Oh, and I left the deer for him, after taking the antlers.” You leaned closer. “But you wanna know the best part? I drugged that buck.” 

Telemachus let out a loud bark of laughter, and you grinned as you shushed him; no one was supposed to find you hidden behind a barrel in the storage room.

“So,” Telemachus said once he’d settled down. “How’re we planning on doing this?”

You looked at him like he was nuts. “Literally go up to Antinous and punch him in the face.”

Now it was your brother’s turn to look at you like you were insane. “What? I’m not doing that! He’ll pulverise me-”

“Please, little owl,” you begged. “Please, please, please, please, please!” You grabbed onto the sleeve of his tunic. “I didn’t tell you that he made a suggestive comment!”

“What?” Telemachus demanded as he rose to his feet. His eyes flickered with anger, face twisted into a scowl. “He said what?”

Your brother didn’t even wait for an answer, storming out of the room and toward the dining hall, you scurrying after him.

“You dirty, rotten, good-for-nothing, scum-eating, bastard!”

You found Telemachus facing Antinous, bristling with uncontrollable rage. 

“Whoa, whoa, whoa, little wolf,” Antinous said with a smirk. “What’s gotten under your skin today?”

“It’s not what!” Telemachus shouted, taking a swing at the suitor’s face. “It's who! And it’s you!”

Antinous grabbed his fist, smile stretching wider. “And what have I done today, little wolf? I haven’t even talked to you this fine morning.”

“You made my sister kiss you!” Telemachus spat. “And you put suggestive comments in her ears!” 

Antinous raised his eyebrows innocently. “I didn’t make her kiss me. She chose to.”

You gasped in horror in outrage, emerging from your spot in the shadows. “I did nothing of the sort!”

“Ah!” Antinous let out a laugh that sounded less boisterous and more… nervous than before. “If it isn’t the princess herself!”

You fell upon him, teeth bared in a furious snarl. You weren’t in control of your movements anymore- you simply punched and slapped and kicked. 

Before you could even realize what you’d done, Antinous was pinned beneath you, your knee in his chest in almost exactly the same position it had been when you’d pinned Telemachus. He gazed up at you, eyes wide and filled with something you couldn’t name. 

“Beautiful,” he murmured under his breath.

“What was that?” You asked sharply, bringing your forearm to his throat as if daring him to say it louder. 

“You’re beautiful,” Antinous answered shamelessly. 

You bared your teeth at him, standing up. You grabbed Telemachus’s bicep, dragging him out of the doors behind you. You glanced behind you one last time, narrowing your eyes at Antinous, who was still laying on the ground. 

He gave a small smirk, and you scowled in return.

“I hope that taught you not to mess with a woman,” you hissed as you exited the dining room.

Guess who turned 7 years old?

SPLATOON 2!!!!! Everyone's favourite Splatoon game!!!! Right? Right guys....? We love Splatoon 2 yeah....? It's the best one right.....? Totally not gonna become the middle child of the series that gets overshadowed by the new fresh Splatoon 3 and the nostalgia of the first game right.....?

Okay, jokes aside about if Splatoon 2 is actually good or not. This was the game that actually got me into Splatoon, I knew about the series since it's announcement but I couldn't play the first game because like the rest of general public, I didn't own a wii u. Still don't but I would love to have one to mod. (And play Splatoon 1 online with fan servers...)

I think Splatoon 2 really did bring a lot of cool stuff to the table and it had a lot of quality of life features and interesting weapon, sub and special concepts.

It gave us the dualies!! THE DUALIES! I LOVE THE DUALIES!

It gave us the brellas! Which.... were kinda bad at launch and still are bad till this day....

BUT! I dont wanna talk about weapons because thats BORING! I wanna talk about one of the best things Splatoon 2 gave us...

OFF THE HOOK! PEARL AND MARINA! These girls are some of the most popular characters in the series and for good reason. They are both funny, likeable, charming, witty and have developed backstories by the time Octo Expansion comes around. Plus their chemistry is top-notch and so damn CUTE! It's almost has if they are somehow more than friends and that kind of connection is canon and people who try to deny it are fucking idiots and will never be in a relationship of their own.....

Also Splatoon 2 gave us a pretty solid hero mode at launch, sure it was basically more Splatoon 1 hero mode but hey, the first hero mode was fun so more of the same is fine by me. Plus you get Marie's classic snark too while you go through levels, she's nice company surprisingly. Way better than some old ass crusty dude...

OCTO EXPANSION BABY! I know people love to call this overrated now but I really don't care. It's not overrated, it's perfectly rated. It also gave us PLAYABLE OCTOLINGS! Which was a highly requested thing people really really wanted and they gave us what we asked for! Even though they lacked a lot of customisation options.... still do till this day... (Nintendo is it really that hard to come up with new hair? The community has been doing that for years for you man.)

And of course... the last thing I want to talk about...

This is probably my favourite Splatfest to date. It brought in a lot of actual genuine philosophical discussion on what kind of world is best, a world of chaos? Or a world of order? I chose team chaos because when the youtuber/streamer Etika was still around he chose team chaos and I chose that team because of him... rest in peace...

The shifty station too was phenomenonal as you got to hear Fly Octo Fly and Pearl would come in AND YOU GOT TO USE HER PRINCESS CANON!!!! IT WAS SO FUCKING COOL AHHHH!!!

God Pearl is so cool... i can't believe I actually used to dislike her. I wanna beat up teen me so badly for having such bad takes. Marina is hot sure, but, Pearl is just so fucking funny. Man what was wrong with 13 to 17 year old me....

Anyways, I wanted to ramble about Splatoon 2. It's pretty special to me as it was the reason I am here today, so I can't really criticise it as much as others do. Well... aside from one obvious thing but, I've done that many times.

Re: what do dominant people need to recover after a harder-kink session?

Biggest things that helped me were taking some time afterwards to sit together, talk with her about what she had or hadn't enjoyed, just some reassurance that she knew I respected her IRL and that I only was willing to manhandle her in various ways because it turned her on, that I wouldn't ever purposefully do anything that she wasn't ok with, and so on. I'd managed to internalize a really dysfunctional blend of messages about sexuality, growing up in a liberal family in a very conservative state. Like, when I was a teenager I felt guilty about things as benign as "liking doggy style", "enjoying receiving blowjobs", and "fantasizing about getting with two bi girls". The latter was a fantasy that I had like one time as a teen boy, and I felt so guilty about objectifying bi women that I was almost sick to my stomach. I was a weird teenager.

I did develop some kinks that are probably coping mechanisms or ways to avoid the guilt of being sexually forward, now that I think of it, as well as the anxiety of needing to make sure she's enjoying it.

I think you can get around this fear by being open-ended in the feedback that you request from subs. So, for instance, you can tell subs that one thing that you need as a form of aftercare and ongoing negotiation is for them to give you a reflection of their experience a day or some days afterward. This can happen in a conversation or via them keeping a journal or something similar. Ask them to describe what they liked, what they'd like to see go differently, what they want more of. This will get you a lot of feedback that is reassuring without you specifically having to ask for reassurance and feel like you're manipulating the conversation in some way.

I think once you have established a really good rapport with a sub and can communicate with them effectively (and TRUST them to tell you when things aren't working for them), then you can say, straight up "I feel like an awful person sometimes after doing CNC/etc, can you check in the next day to tell me you're doing okay and that I'm not evil?" Or whatever else you might need.

I get you very much about the gender political baggage that comes with wanting to be a Dominant man with woman partners... from the opposite side of things. Okay so I started watching Pretty Cure after seeing how raw the fights go. I'm about seven episodes in, and first impression? There's one thing in particular I find really interesting about the way the show is presented.

A key element of writing is the art of creating narrative excuses. Writing can be broken down into two components.

-> This is what I want to happen. -> This is how I explain why and how that is what happens.

Let's say I'm writing a fight between Daredevil and Thor and, for my story, I want Daredevil to win. The next step is to explain why and how this fight ends in Daredevil winning.

-> How do Daredevil's powers contribute to this victory? -> What experience does Daredevil bring to the fight that he can put over Thor? -> What weapons or gadgets or special techniques have I established (or, if I'm working far enough ahead, can I establish) to justify Daredevil winning? -> What are the environmental factors that are working against Thor and to Daredevil's benefit? -> What is going on in the characters' heads?

Etc. etc.

I have decided from the outset that Daredevil is going to win this fight, and now I can work backwards to explain why that happens. A lot of writing fumbles and awkward storytelling come from failures to take the things the writer wants to happen and have them make sense as things that would happen.

Pretty Cure is a Magical Girl series and, as such, it has the transformative format. The characters have two modes: A powerless mode and a super mode, which they can switch between.

I've seen a lot of transforming hero media. Power Rangers, magical girls, and some battle shonen like late-stage Dragon Ball work on this mode-switching format. And for series that mode switch their heroes... often times, you kinda want to have fun in both modes?

The hero fights the bad guys in their base form first, then mode switches, and then the real fight begins in their super form. Power Rangers gets special mention for having two mode switches, going from normal human to Super mode and then mode switching again to have a mecha fight with a kaiju monster.

But when you do that, there's always that lingering question of why. Why not mode switch on the spot? Why would we ever fight the monster in our powerless state?

There's a lot of ways you, as a writer, can answer that question.

They're trying to protect their secret identity and can't transform until the witnesses are away.

The character is a martial artist and wants to test the opponent's mettle before kicking it up a notch.

The thing they use to transform has been taken from them and they need to get it back.

Transforming would have an adverse effect on something and they need to do it sparingly.

Etc. etc.

What I find interesting about the powerset in the first Pretty Cure series is that it's designed for this kind of mode switching from the ground up. Because the girls cannot just... transform.

They don't have transformation sequences. They have a duo transformation sequence. Their powers have to be activated by each other. It's literally a plot point that they cannot transform if they aren't both there to do it together.

This is what allows for the mode switching. Sometimes they're fortunate enough that danger comes while they're hanging out together.

And sometimes David Bowie jumps out of the bushes and attacks one of them while she's by herself.

And she has to survive until the other one can get there so they can mode switch.

I dunno, I just think baking in an excuse like this to justify depowered action sequences without needing to come up with a unique explanation each time you want to write one is pretty clever.

And also having the characters powered by each other like this plays to the collective power fantasy that tends to be really popular in anime. That we are all individually strong in our own ways, but that the truest strength comes from the whole group working together.

Hii, I saw your latest post and your art style is so pretty?? What?? I have a question though. How do you do the paint one? Or rendering in general. Like genuinely, I have a problem with rendering and I can't seem to quite understand it on my own. Do you just start with flat colors? Do you do lineart or colors right after the sketch? Is the "lineart" just added later? Painted over? Erased to give thinner and thicker lines?? I'm really curious!!

hi! im not the best painter tbh! though i do have a background in painting but ill try my best to explain

diff artists have different approaches to how they paint but generally yes, you would start out with big shapes first and then go into the details - work big picture first. like, if you squint and the drawing makes sense in terms of value and colour and shape, youre on the right path.

i can kinda show this with a warmup in-class speedpaint exercise we did a couple weeks ago where we were tasked with painting an eye in about 30 minutes (i was late and only had 20 lol)

luckily ive got the layers for this. i start of with a base layer, kind of like a underpaint layer since that's how i personally learned to paint traditionally. i did have a sketch before laying down this base layer under it but i ended up using it for final rendering details lol

after that i started laying down the big blocks of colour. i wasn't necessarily aiming for complete colour accuracy here, i just wanted to match the value. i chose a pink underlayer to influence my colour choices because the underlayer will peak through the blocks of colour i paint over it

and then (forgive me if this seems like "draw the rest of the owl" in terms of progression) but this is where i started going in with finer detail. i did the rest of the render on the sketch layer i had so you can see some of the lines from the sketch here

here's the layers completely seperate from each other

even for the flat colour version of my character, i had an underpaint layer! i used yellow and orange since i wanted her colours to be warm and used a semi-opaque brush to put her colours in rather than using a completely opaque brush

when i wanted to do the painted version, i put the lineart on multiply and reduced the opacity and brushed in some some quick shadows on seperate layer on hard light mode to give me a good base to start painting with

and then i did all the rendering and details on a new layer ontop of everything. i keep the lineart light so i can paint over it easily and also colour pick from it when i want a more distinct line to seperate certain shapes. i unfortunately dont know how to explain this part because a lot of this is intuitive to me and i'm still learning. but you gotta make use of different types of "edges" in painting, and you would generally have more contrast in the focal point of your painting than in other places to draw the eye to that point. i suggest researching the use of edges in painting if you really wanna learn more - because im a terrible teacher haha

for fun here's what the rendering layer for this one looks like on its own and the finished thing for comparison

there's other things you need to learn too, like bounce light, atmospheric perspective, ambient occlusion... and colour theory is always important! i could go on for a long time. there's a lot of pieces to the puzzle and it may seem overwhelming but there's tons of resources online and it will all become second nature to you as you keep practicing

riding around out in the fields with billy because he has a day to himself, and he wants to spend it with you.

and we all know billy loves his horse, and he's so good at riding the animal and taming it. he asks if you wanna go out with him for a ride and you're reluctant at first. of course, this is the wild west. lots of people know how to ride horses, it's a huge mode of transportation. but...you had never spent that much time around them. you lived in town and didn't tend to stray from there, and your interactions with the animals were mostly limited to carriage rides where someone else was in control.

"c'mon angel, it'll be fun. promise," he says, giving you those imploring blue eyes all round and wide. you agreed, knowing that billy would never let anything happen to you. not that you were scared. just a little uneasy, is all.

but then the afternoon comes and he's got you sat comfortably right in front of him in the saddle. his chest is warm and solid against your back, your bum is settled nicely in the cradle of his hips and his thighs, keeping you right there against him. your hands rest on the saddle horn while his arms are resting around your waist, holding the reins.

lady, his horse, wanders around where he guides her. she's a pretty horse, white with speckles and she's very calm. you can tell that her and billy have a quiet kind of trust between them.

"see?" he grins, leaning his head down to peck your cheek. "not so bad, is it?"

and it's not. it's not bad at all, really. you can tell your thighs might be a little sore later from the unconscious way you're clenching them to feel balanced, but this is actually kinda nice. the sun is perched in the middle of the sky, warming the fields and your skin. bugs and wildlife are buzzing around you as you ride, and billy seems so relaxed and content behind you.

"you wanna take the reins for a bit?" he asks, patting your thigh and giving it an affectionate squeeze. he likes to do that, give you these little pets and caresses sometimes. just because he can.

"oh...um....i don't really know-"

"nonsense, it's easy. here." he cuts you off gently, placing the leather reins in your hands. he explains to you what actions the horse will take as cues, and you don't dare do anything but encourage the animal to keep on moseying forward like she had been. billy chuckles softly at your hesitance, but he doesn't make fun. he lets you do what you're comfortable with.

you try to focus on directing lady where you want her to go, but it starts to get harder when billy's hands slide up and down your outer thighs slowly. you know he's probably not trying to distract you or rile you up, but you can't help the way your body and mind react to his touch.

billy rests his chin on your shoulder and hums, some silly little folk tune he must have stuck in his head. you can feel the vibrations of his voice against your back and it makes your tummy flutter with butterflies. no matter how long you and billy have been together, even little things like this make your heart stutter like a lovesick teen with a crush.

"you're doin' great, honey," he murmurs, and you can feel his smile against your cheek where he still rests over your shoulder. it makes you feel better, the praise. you like it when he praises you, even for little things like this.

his hands begin to wander, though, and you're not sure you can stay focused on controlling lady. billy brings his hands up to your hips, his fingers dipping into the waistband of the pants he'd loaned you to ride in. it's not inherently sexual, the way he's touching you. a little intimate to be touched out in the open like this, a little against decorum, but you're alone out here anyway. he strokes your skin softly, adoringly, like he just wants to feel you under his fingertips. as much as you like it, it's too distracting.

"here," you blurt, handing him the reins back. "can't think straight with you around." it comes out more playful than scolding, though, and billy chuckles.

"alright. whatever you want, angel," he tells you, pressing another kiss to your cheek before taking over again.

So. Toy Jimmy. When ever he gets injured, he gets a rip that needs to be manually stitched up. He doesn't know how to sew. God Joel. He made all the stupid toys by hand. He is VERY good at sewing.

The first thing Jim does after they make up is go "also. Um. I know you do a lot of sewing... and you're probably really good at it.. and I don't know how to sew..." this drags on for a bit because he doesnt know how to ask for help and the whole while Joel can just feel he's about to see the most disgusting shitty fucked stitching he's ever seen (he's completely right). Anyway he sees Jimmy's awful job of fixing a cut on his arm and goes "hmm okay I'll have to seam rip it but I can fix this up easy! You don't have any others that need immediate attention though right?" And Jimmy is quiet for a few seconds until he goes, "... I need to take my shirt off. Don't be weird, okay?" Bro has a BUNCH of these fucked up stitches over rips on his chest and arms. Joel is crashing out and it all seems like there's a shred of "okay this is still kinda fine" left here until Jimmy goes weakly "you should see my back". Joel walks around him. THERE ARE THESE FUCKING MASSIVE TEARS ARE SAFTEY PINNED TOGETHER BECAUSE HE CANT REACH THEM TO STICH THEM UP EVEN THE SLIGHTEST BIT. Joel crashes out even harder and immediately is like "right I am fixing this RIGHT NOW and you are getting sewing lessons afterwards because what the fuck". And then gay shit (wound tending) happens bleehhhh :P probably getting all these stitches pulled out is very uncomfortable for Jim so he's trying not to cry or move the whole time. And Joel is very locked in and eventually (after a botched seam rip stretches one of the tears a bit more) decides to distract Jimmy by explaining different types of thread, needles, stitches, and knots to him. He also gives him something to bite down with the added benefit of Jimmy not being able to complain about this sewing info dump.

And after this, whenever Jimmy gets hurt he just shoots Joel a text like "heyyyy guess who got shot by a skeleton again". And Joel has to come over and fix him up because yknow. They're friends and it's good to have healthy interactions. Plus Jimmy does need to learn to sew so it's a good learning opportunity. The first time Jimmy successfully manages to sew himself up he immediately runs to Joel and they are both very excited. Even after Jimmy becomes mostly self sufficient (except for some spots he can't reach and pain levels fucking up his motor skills) they still hang out a bunch.

Perhaps at some point Jimmy gets a massive cut over his face and barely makes it on his own to the lore and law building near spawn. It takes so long for him to type a misspelling ridden message to Joel asking him show up. Eventually the door swings open and he manages to get out some almost utter nonsense before passing out. Meanwhile Joel is incredibly confused and scared because ????? What???? The fuck???? Anyway he locks in and stitches Jimmy's face up and waits with him until he wakes up (Jimmy doesn't remember Joel showing up, or a lot from after he got the injury). Tee hee

Ultra mega fucked up mode is a few of his stitches staying in Jim's skin after esmp2 ends. So Joel and him try to figure out why this happened (spit balling stupid ideas while Joel is pulling stitches out and absent-mindedly patting gauze and sterilization stuff on the small wounds the stitching leaves behind). There’s a slight typo in his basic character bio, (first, grey image) other than “yuich,” his family in America lives in the part of the hidden city under Jersey. He lives in Jersey. He’s a Jersian. So in terms of leosagi, it’s gonna be an enemies-to-lovers comedy-of-errors muahahahaha!!

Basically; He’s a silly guy! I feel like his kinda buffoonish, embarrassing personality in canon is simultaneously PERFECT for Rise’s writing style & grievously underrated in fanon depictions. So he’s this clownish type of character, haha.

Okay, time to go hyperfixation mode.

Adhd & his stubborn attitude;

He has ADHD! Executive function issues makes it hard for him to start tasks & manage himself, so he relies on his teams (the Mad Dogs when he’s training & the Rise equivalent to his canon friend group on his own time) to not only instruct him, but also hold him accountable & keep him on task. He’s body-doubling without even realizing it.

Although, he resents the things he does to accommodate his disability. He doesn’t notice that doing the things he does genuinely helps or why so he thinks he’s using them as a crutch because of incompetence. Every time he gets stubborn and ignores the things he needs to do, he crashes and burns. When he was new in town with no teacher & no friends who liked martial arts, he became a huge sad sack until the kraang invasion.

His character arc is about being able to rely on other people & accommodations. That relying on a bit more help than other people doesn’t make you incompetent, choosing to seek out the support you need so you can do your best is the true mature thing to do. I was inspired by canon Yuichi’s struggles with paying attention and Rise’s themes of cooperation. (& also my own experience with adhd and learning with executive function issues & junk)

Relationships w/ the turtles;

The Mad Dogs agree to let him like, intern with them? So he can see what it’s like to be a vigilante, they offer him advice and they occasionally go on low to mid-tier missions with his help. They take him on cause they think more heroes and allies out there, the less work they have to do haha. Also, one of the writers mentioned a season 3 would have them adjusting to being ~official heroes,~ I think this would be them trying to be “real.”

He’s closest friends with Mikey out of the whole group! (Adhd solidarity) Then it goes Donnie -> Raph -> and finally Leo (for now muahaha)

I tried to give Leosagi an interesting dynamic with constructing his character like this; They have similar insecurities from drawing self-worth from technical capabilities that they can develop past together, but Leo is clever and calculating about it vs Yuichi being rash and impulsive. So like smart x stupid but they’re the same actually.

His Family in Jersey;

He speaks english fluently because he’s visited his American family frequently his whole life, they’re very close. He has an accent though since he mainly speaks Japanese.

I haven’t fleshed out this concept enough, but I think members of his jersey/Cuddles half of the family would be spoofs of characters from the original yojimbo comics, implied to be reincarnations? Except Miyamoto ofc. (i’ll explain later..)

Reusing the ninja orphans plotline from the original show, his family utilizes their cute appearances to run an orphanage too. They wonder why this Chizu lady is constantly showing up with unhoused children, but they’re just grateful they’re safe now.

Everyone in his family HATES Mrs. Cuddles, they all think she’s in prison and are happy about it. She might’ve given him that scratch on his face.

secondly, sure! my process involves a lot of bullshitting and kinda intuition based stuff so idk how to explain it that well but i will try.

ok here is how i would render a colored ball + grayscale ver. i dont use value ? or darkness to create shading as much as color contrast. ex yellow is lighter than green which is lighter than blue/purple. this is shown in grayscale but since im using the colors to indicate value it shows up better in color (idk how to say it)

this is personal preference but i don’t use color palettes at all, because every setting will have a different kind of lighting or mood that i need to adjust for. so why even bother? i think im just really used to picking things out by eye, buti would not recommend this because stuff can get inconsistent really quick

i dont use blend modes for shadows anymore, but heres an example with multiply for how i do shading (left)

in my art i dont like the look of straight up darkening shades so i always go for a darker, more saturated shadow. i love bright colors so im always pushing for more saturation. enhancing existing color in a 'properly shaded' areas is a fun way to do this

for example in this wing, i make the shadows bright ass blue instead of grayish blue/tan. this is because i made the faint light source from the left yellowish, so the shadow will be blue in comparison. i just amped that way up lol

you can also see it in the yellow on the inside of the wing. the lighting is yellow, so i took the faint bits of yellow that wouldve been present if i shaded it normally and just made it way more saturated

Got inspired by the person who suggested Taco having a mobility aid. I also have anemia, and I feel like she would definitely have it. We can assume she wasn't hunting many animals with red meat. I always assumed that if she hunted it would be smaller animals, like squirrels, or even spearing fish. While she'd have to be in survival mode all the time in the forest, not having time for her health, post canon she'd probably come to the realization that she'd have pretty severe anemia. My anemia personally makes it really hard to walk or even stand for more than five minutes on a bad day (most days). I think Taco would be similar, but she'd be much more resilient with it, as she had to in order to survive. Post canon, I feel like she'd have a really fancy cane, or even make herself a wheelchair for long distances (she doesn't use the latter at much ever sense Knife rolled her down a hill) At the same time, i think she would be reluctant to use such things and would try to purposefully be much more active and productive to get the validation from the rest of the group that she's doing a good job and earning her place. -- HEADCANON NUMBER TWO I feel like she's really comfortable in small spaces. Like really comfortable. She sleeps under the beds for a long while when she's new to the mansion/hotel. She lives in a tiny den back in the forest that she can barely stand up in herself. Based on other headcanons, people just..FIND her places, cabinets, pantries, bookshelves.. you can't tell me that she hasn't gotten completely stuck in a drawer and thought she was gonna die. Like completely serious thought she wasn't important enough to look for. Mic ends up finding her and had to reassure her for a long while. Woah guys, big ask, kinda nervous,,

It would make it easier for Taco if Mic just started doing it as well, so she doesn't have to have a big scary conversation about it. Yup yes yup. As I have said before girl can be found in vents and little dens and cereal cabinets. I like to think about her having a little interaction with Mic post s2 finale, in which Mic asks Taco if she can go where Taco had lived before rejoining the group, and Taco says she can't. Mic raises and eyebrow and asks why because she thinks Taco is keeping something a secret there, but then Taco explains that she literally can't go in. She's too tall. Her den is small and secure, she can stand up in it but she can't jump, no way Mic could fit inside.

Jack: When you start hyperventilating, your body becoming shaky, jack immediately is on high alert and on the dot, making sure your in a quiet area with food and water to help calm your nerve. He whisper sweet nothings to you and just hold you until you calm down.

Ian:Poor baby is panicking and stressing just as much as you. He's trying to figure out how tf to calm you down. He ain't used to this, but he'll try his best to calm you down

Nick:immediately resorts to bringing out his pomeranians. He lets the pomeranians at least calm you down a bit. If that starts to wear down, he steps in and peppers you with kisses and basically spoils you. He lays you down on the couch and covers you a warm blanket, and puts on your favorite movie to help soothe your nerves

Shaun:Similar to Nick, pet to the rescue. Moonpie can tell when you're panicking. The only thing is, the poor girl is blind so Shaun helps to guide her. But instead of letting moonpie calm you down alone, he's there too, he has you in his lap, holding you in his arms as he kisses your head, telling you everything is ok and that's he's there for you.

Bo: when he sees you hyperventilating, he immediately jumps onto you and clings onto in a very tight hug. He's not the best with comfort since he's been in the tomodachi for like, 25 years. But, what I can imagine is him going into feed me mode (yes he'll be wearing pants, I see you people 🤨) so there's basically more for you to hug and more heat to help soothe you.

Taylor:He's trying his best :'). He's not the brightest, in my opinion, but definitely knows when you're having a P.A. he immediately runs off to grab snacks and a blanket. He wraps you in a blanket and holds you like your life depends on it, which, kinda does depending on how severe it is. He's trying his best to make sure your happy and comfortable

Elias: Elias, being a Victorian baby boy, doesn't really know what to do, man ain't used to it. The best he can do is make you some tea and make you your favorite dessert. He's trying his absolute hardest to make you comfortable and calm. He'll ask you questions like if your comfortable or if you need anything, so when your able to calm down, you can explain to him so he'll know what to do next time.
