Welp, the end is here. Goodbye, Monty and Foxy show, I will miss you, but welcome to the world Eclipse and Puppet show! It was nice Earth got to say goodbye to Eclipse. I really hope they stay in contact. I really love their friendship it wasn't something I was expecting from the show, but I'm glad it happened cause of Earth Eclipse is now a better person. You did good Earth, you did good. It's also good to know Puppet will start a podcast in the other dimension cause I was wondering what was gonna happen to the podcast. So, is it the Puppet and Eclipse podcast, or are they gonna use the Monty from that universe for it?

I'm happy for Foxy. Now he gets to be a star again. He's even got his own "Foxy's fast track," so, on behalf of Foxy EAT IT ROXANNE! (Not really Roxy, you rock) Although one problem... they... um.. Foxy, Puppet, and F.c. are.. kinda homeless now. 😐 Ya, Animatronics don't have rights here... to be fair, they barely have them back in the old universe. But I'm sure they get their home back soon. Also, they kinda forgot Andrew is still inside of F.C. so now they have to find a way to either help Andrew move on or, I guess get him his own body or just accept Andrew lives with them there. Gonna be interesting to see what this universe has in store. Wonder what this universe Sun and Moon are like... if they're even the daycare attendant here, plus what do you think the Monty here will be like?

All in all, this was a great first episode, and while I'll miss Monty and Foxy's show, I'm super excited for the Eclipse and Puppet show! Can't wait to see what they whip up here.

HAPPY SUMMERWEEN OF 2025!

I had long wanted to do an update of the folklore & cryptids group I'd done for Summerween in 2019, and a variation done later that year. This time, of course, expanding the cast.

Counter-clockwise from Stan, reprising his Jersey Devil costume, we also have: Soos as Bigfoot; Melody as the Flatwoods Monster; Wendy as a Western gunslinger Jackalope (don't worry, that's a water-pistol); Dipper once again as the Pterodactyl Thunderbird; Mabel as a selkie, with mer-pig Waddles; Fiddleford as the Gobblewonker; and Ford once again as Mothman.

I wish I'd gotten it shaded, but decided I'd better get it put up while it was actually still Summerween!

(A couple of other small notes: the green skin of Soos's Bigfoot is explained here; and all the related pics I've done of Bigfoot are linked from here. I did find some Loch Ness Monster costumes for sale that look very much like what Fiddleford is wearing here, with a big plushie head on top. The Flatwoods Monster has many depictions, but in the end I went with a version of the costume created by Andrew Smith, director of the Braxton County WV visitor center and founder of the Flatwoods Monster Museum; see article and pics here, with a good history of this particular cryptid!)

Swap Short: Thanksgiving Edition

Not My Cousin Andrew’s Body!

I loath the thought of Thanksgiving because my family is so freaking weird! Every year we get together and all of us stay in my Uncle’s house for the night before Thanksgiving. And right before bed all of us are forced to play this dumb game. We call it, ‘guess who.’ (Which is nothing like the board game btw.)

Basically everyone randomly swaps bodies with someone else and none of us know who’s in who. We all have to try our best at pretending to know whoever’s body we’re in that year. And the last two who don’t get guessed correctly basically win bragging rights and like $500. I personally don’t want to participate but I don’t have much of a choice.

So when I arrived at my Uncle’s house, I caught up with my family. I felt the my nerves kick in every time someone mentioned the game.

I looked around the room, thinking to myself who would I be comfortable being for a day. Probably my Uncle Peter or maybe my little cousin Davie. I haven’t swapped with either of them yet. But I know one person who I’d hate to swap bodies with… my cousin Andrew. I find him repulsive!

He’s one of those far right guys who just has the most punchable face you’ve ever seen. He looks like he skips a bath every other day and I’m confident that he’s not a fan of gay people. I don’t know, I try to avoid him at all cost. Luckily I haven’t swapped with him yet and I’m hoping it stays that way.

By the time the night started to wrap up, I was so ready to go to bed. I say good night to everyone and laid in bed slowly falling asleep thinking about who I was going to be in the morning.

The Next Day…

As I wake up, it takes me a moment to get my bearings. It’s just so dark in the room but it doesn’t take me long to realize that I was no longer in the room I fell asleep in.

I stumble to find a lamp and turn it on. As I swing my new borrowed legs out of bed. I stared down at the feet that I now control.

I don’t even get up quickly, my mind races eliminating who I could possibly be until i conform who’s stubby toes I’m looking at. Andrews.

first things first riko needed to be brutally beaten to death, a shot was too quick

renee talked like a fortune cookie and it was pissing me off

i wish we got more of Wymack and Jean, it was very nice of him to get on the plane with Jean

jean immediately getting annoyed with basic life is really funny

jean is also really sassy and hilarious

also something weird happened in jeremeys house

my personally theory is that he had a sibling who died and his family thinks its his fault

like maybe an accident or maybe the sibling overheard something that they weren't supposed to and his sibling had to die as a result

whatever happened the butler knows about it and is trying to protect him

and whatever happened had to be bad because the act of dying his hair had his family ban him from the dinner table

neil believing his relationship with andrew as a strength his really good for his character, considering his mom was so keen on him not forming any connections

the fact that jean actually considered reaching out to his sister, only for him to learn that she was dead breaks me every time

and neil using her to force him into a belief that he doesn't deserve to belong to anyone but himself was a necessary cruelty.

i also like that Jeremey was the one who telling him about Rikos death was good

jean has no agency in the entire 1st act of the book, he is taken from the nest and basically held captive, then he is forced to go to the sunshine court, which he doesn't like but has to

the foxes all hide info from jean for his own good

and jeremey being the one to tell him is nice because jeremey is his first taste of freedom

jean talking about his abuse in such a casual manner is horrifying bc he thinks its so normal and its horrifying

" i didn't ask" broke me in so many ways because Jean doesn't particularly trust jeremey at the time, nor did it slip out while he was angry, he just said it so casually like it was normal

At first i felt bad for Lucas, but not so much anymore.

he was a sympathetic character who was trying to straddle a thin line of having faith in his captain and who he belives is a violent stranger and his brother who is not the same boy he know

but bringing Greyson to jean was soo fucking stupid it pisses me off

and the fact that jean wasn't even really fighting back, just trying to protect himself is upsetting

also the imagery of him punching the keypad over and over again just trying to get out is gutting

jean isn't a dog who bites, he's a dog who puts his foot to the fire because he believes that he is supposed to do

the water scene was sad as well because he was trying so hard to behave but physically could not

also Jeremey and really most people on the team meet his violence with unflinching kindness is really sweet

i also appreciate how jeremey doesn't force jean to talk about his trauma or even takes the notes from him, jean has had little to no control in his life since he was 15 and forcing him to talk about it when he wasn't ready would have made it worse

and jean asking jeremey to pretend was sweet and what was even sweeter when he did

jean learning to cook is nice as well because he needs life skills

theory for book 2: jeremey buys jean his freedom and jean becomes an exy coach ( more of a pipe dream i guess)

i also think Greyson will kill lucas

jeremeys saving grace being the thought of his sister deserving better is horrifying

i wish we got more of his relationship with Zane

neil is a real one because Jean compared Greyson to drake once, and Neil took care of it for him

jean being afraid of sleeping alone is so sad because he's basically been trained to sleep next to someone

and the fact that he has nighmares, but they are hardly mentioned, and jeremey is the one to bring it up is so sad

also kevin should have tried harder to reach out to jean

jean pushed away the foxes because he knew they would eventually leave him too

jean being steadfast in the idea that if he plays a good game he will have momentary peace is heartbreaking

jean holding onto his talent despite people thinking he slept his way to the top is also upsetting

i hope we get a zane and jean reunion bc i think they truly cared for each other

maybe kevin sends jean a postcard and a magnet and they can reconnect

also him realizing his very limited possesions have been destroyed made me almost cry

and the magnet scene with jeremey is very sad, but him realizing the magnets are broken make him realize that he is

St. Louis felt infinitely like home. Or, as close to home as Jimmy could get. Coming into the city from the Illinois side of the river made him sick to smell the air of his childhood backyard. To taste the dirt in his mouth as he, once again, lost against Grian at the diamonds. St. Louis was 10 times smaller than grand old New York, New York, but it was 10 times more welcoming. The drivers were calmer, the streets less full, the culture more laid back. It was a lazy city, sticky and slow like molasses in the early summer midwestern heat. 

As the team bus rattled its way across the Eads Bridge, Jimmy felt Joel smack his arm, breaking his gaze away from the lazy flow of the Mississippi. “What in the bloody hell are they building?” Joel muttered, half standing to see over Tango’s shoulders across the isle. Tango looked as if he was about to burst out of the window, he was pressed so hard to the glass. He swiveled his head to look at Jimmy and Joel. 

“You two haven’t heard? It’s been in every paper for weeks!” He was practically vibrating with excitement. 

Jimmy shook his head and stood up taller to see what the fuss was about. By then, the whole team was ‘ooh and ahhing’ at the absolutely massive structure being built, right on the banks of the river. 

“It’s going to be called the Gateway Arch. It’s probably going to be the biggest feat of engineering since the Empire State. Probably better than the Needle out in Seattle is going to be.” Jimmy raised an eyebrow, a hint of a smile on his lips. Since when did Tango have a special interest in engineering?

“I did a few months in an engineering class. Got me hooked, but numbers are easier to understand.” Tango explained, as if he had read Jimmy’s mind. Then he turned back around and continued to peer at the stories-tall cranes slowly moving into place, and the two wide, square beginnings of what would apparently become a feat of engineering. Jimmy didn’t really see the draw, but he leaned across Joel and the isle to Tango anyways.

“We should come back to see it once it’s finished.” Jimmy said, watching the construction site fade behind them. The Cardnial’s stadium appeared behind the looming Old Courthouse. 

“I agree!” Tango replied, beaming. Jimmy didn’t care if he was 100 by the time the Arch was finished. He’d come back and see it with Tango when it was done.

hi worm i know you're reading this,,,ok I haven't had the energy (or time) to do any art for the baseball au but the brainrot has been stuck with me for DAYS. so I decided to write a little tidbit of how I imagined the ride into St. Louis for that game against the Cardnials. I have a lot of love for the city I grew up around so I really wanted to do something for it for you :) And if you're interested, here's some of the history I incorparated to make it feel more historically accurate! (i'm a cloested history buff, can you tell)

the st louis gateway arch began construction in 1963 technically, but I'm like 90% sure that there was soo much prep work done on the site before the actual construction, as there is a basement underneath it, and a huge walkway/viewing platform area, as well as the whole thing with the levee right on the Mississippi. I wanted to sort of figure out what that would look like in 1961 when the plans were being laid out. Also, the Arch is a certified national park, it's professional name being "St. Louis Gateway Arch National Park"

The Old Courthouse. UGH its one of my favorite buildings I've ever seen actually. Its so beautiful, and you can, from the road I'm writing them on, see Busch staduim looming behind it. The Courthouse also actually held the first two trials of the Dred Scott case, if you're into that kind of stuff.

The Eads Bridge. Also one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. It is the oldest bridge on the Mississippi and was constructed under the care of Andrew Carnagie. That bad boy is made out of actual authentic Carnagie steel. Sooo history rich. Pretty sure they actually held a parade with elephants once it was done. so that's cool

Oh, and Busch stadium. It wasn't called that way back when! And it looked much, much different than it does now. I'm honestly not sure what it was called in the 60's, but I'm sure most people called it Cardnial's stadium. It was a beautiful and massive stadium back then, and it still is now.

the seattle neetle was being constructed around the same time as the arch as well, which is why i had Tango say something about it LOL

emil - some sort of baggy, pastel coloured cardigan, probably pink/mint green with cream accents and grass stains probably fairly pale since theres little to no natural sunlight in both ballonlea and the tangle, and he uses a parasol otherwise, for his hair im thinking probably longer than canon?? not overwhelmingly so, but probably just above his shoulderblades. also he has little glowy freckles that are just mushroom spores as well as a morelull that kinda just. sits on his head

now the hard part..... everyone else........

frederick definitely has a suit with a train i think! he prefers to use fairy/ghost types (mecore) and i think it should reflect in what he wears while being elegant. he should get heeled boots methinks

for norton i kiinda wanna keep the self repaired aspects of his clothes. i like the slight stinginess of his personality and i think that his clothes reflect that well, because is there reaaallyy a point in buying new clothes if he could fix them himself and they still do their job........

ive no idea what to do with him though. not a clue....... i was thinking maybe leather or something to show he's a spikemuth local, but im not sure on it,,,

andrew.... ive been procrastinating on this for him....... for soo long..... im thinking he gets to wear a real big (though worn) hooded travelling cloak since it somewhat resembles a robe (or whatever the fuck you call his canon fit) with the iris remaining ofc, and he carries his mimikyu around in the hood whenever its not up. as a barefoot wanderer myself i think we all know what my first response is but i think he can pull off boots

KJT Phantom will be the Phantom's favorite Phantom…

Once you hear him sing *in the theatre*, it's the point of no return. I guarantee it. I've heard a lot of Phantoms sing over the years, but when you sit in a theater and are surrounded by KJT's voice, you realize that there really isn't a singer who can top him...

i mean, really! The first thing I thought of while listening to his MOTN was the story of Zeus and Semele, where Semele asked Zeus to show her his true colors, and Zeus showed up in his most humble attire, but she burned to death. I can't help but feel that...He has a voice that is beyond human, but he is singing at a level that we humans can handle...

The only thing I wish is that he would have connected the strength of his voice (absolute majesty) to his acting, giving it more weight and emotional control.

I feel like he was heavily influenced by JSW and JDS, and they are actors who fill their scenes with emotional outbursts and added details, which is not KJT's strength as he can fill the stage with his majestic voice… A singing is a singing, and it's true that his musical acting is inexperienced…lol Wouldn't it have been enough if he just stuck to the script without being... greedy?(sorry but i really want to see serious phantom...😂)

Choosing SJS christine as his partner was a great choice. She's thoughtful (she wants to comfort Phantom even in the STYDI), and the desire to reach the angels of music is desperate. but she's human after all… Like Semele, her Christine is not the right vessel to receive the KJT Phantom, so it seems that she will not be able to survive by his side. It's not that Christine isn't good enough, it's that the Phantom is more than humans can handle.

Her portrayal of Christine is very sweet, but at the same time, you can really feel her fear of the Phantom as an absolute. That's why I feel like KJT and her fit together like puzzle pieces...

And! This time I realized, when the managers praise her prima donna debut, she hears it from the room and smiles proudly! So cute omg

As for HGH Raoul, looking at him makes me think about how different he is compared to the SWG Raoul I saw just before.

HGH Raoul is young. He seems to have a lot of anger, but it can also be seen as passion. He finds it difficult to understand Christine, but at the same time, he doesn't always wrap his arms around her but helps her face the trials she has to face under his protection.

like, In TWISTED EVERY WAY, SJS Christine shrinks back in fear, but he doesn't let go of her hand and pulls her to face reality. It wasn't that he was cold, this seemed to be his way of loving.. Helping her do something she doesn't want to do but needs to do (face the Phantom as a man).

The biggest difference in SWG Raoul is that in the rooftop scene, He turns his head with Christine as if they heard the phantom's 'Christine...' together. HGH Raoul doesn't understand the confused Christine at all, but SWG Raoul definitely notices something is very wrong.

HGH raoul will be an eternal stranger in the world of the phantom and christine, but she will no longer be in that world.

The terzetto of these three was staggering. The final lair is…🤯 Andrew Lloyd Webber should see their show. I’m deadly serious. If he sees this, he'll stop the… some ridiculous non-replica productions and focus on finding good actors. This is what the original POTO was all about. To move the audience through song. To make them stop breathe and focus on the show…

I didn't think their acting was special. But with their singing alone, they made the scene suspenseful and compelling.

+ KJT grabbed Raoul's arm as he was putting the lasso on and started singing, teasing him (백�� 탄 왕자님아!/Prince charming!), and it was a small funny scene where HGH Raoul got annoyed and brushed it off lol

I loved the rest of the cast, but as always, it was Piangi and Andre who stood out for me. I'm obsessed with PHR Piangi, and I'd feel like I hadn't seen a full show if he didn't hold that high notes🤣 (and he does that in every show I've ever seen!)

YYS Andre makes me laugh every time he's in the box seats. Not to mention the way he watches Christine nervously and then claps in ecstasy, or the way he freaks out when Carlotta throws Christine into bed in Il Muto, He is so Scene stealer.

In Il muto, everyone laughed when Carlotta tried to pull up Christine's skirt, but it didn't come off and SJS was dragged away. I didn't notice because I was looking elsewhere through my opera glasses...🥲 I'll admit that POTO has a very pretty stage to watch from the upper seats, but I think the first floor is the best for watching the actors.

OH and also I've seen people defend with their whole chests the choking scene, like really is this the hill you wanna die on?😭 and its like it would be soo nice if we could accept that andrew minyard has his wrongs and his rights, like some of the aftg characters are so interesting there's so much to them and the topics the books deal with are all topics ppl would feel strongly about, it would make sense that some people get rubbed the wrong way or dislike even andrew and neil (im mentioning them bc the double standards are crazyy😭) like they've got their good qualities and bad qualities like anyother character, I've seen good meta from people who don't like one of them or talking about their "bad points"

I guess I've just come to complain in your inbox, but the fandom is kind of interesting to me I think it would be a lot more split if less people had the tendency to defang andreil like they do, it's like how a lot of readers hate the idea of andreil never getting married or never saying I love you, or how they depict andrew as smooth or unable to make mistakes somstimes😭like yes not getting married/saying ily could be a bit weird to some people (not to me though I understand🫡) or your favourite character may be unlikeable or make mistakes or do a bad thing but it makes them less flat and it could make sense for the character soo

also yeah. pretty much. the double standards for Neil and Andrew vs. literally everyone else is brain rotting sometimes. honestly sometimes I have to actively remind myself that I like those two and that they're actually great characters just because the takes their fans have almost push me almost to the other side. and it usually seems to be that people will acknowledge like little, surface level flaws in them just to be like "y'all need to realize these characters are NUANCED and have FLAWS" so that they can then proceed to ignore the bigger issues.

I think part of it is that, esp with Andrew, he can also get a good bit of hate so people try so hard to stay away from that that they end up on the other side of him.

but tbh I just try to not pay much attention to what most other people say tbh it just feels more relaxing that way. whenever I venture too far into the sea of aftg fan content I usually reach a point where I just feel weird.
