The Boat Rewatch
From now on, for the boat rewatch lists, I'm just going to be putting them in reblogs of this post, since I'm honestly just kind of done with constantly dealing with links for each season, so the only two will be these two:
Masterpost
Dragon Rewatch
Anyways, since I already have the Pilots-Season 2 done, I'm going to list all the boats right here, then once I finish Season 3, that will be the first reblog.
(Italicized boat listings are for one-episode temporary changes to a previous boat. Will not be counted in the final total boat count)
The Pilots
Episode 2: King of Shadows:
Sailing Ship at the way beginning of the episode on journey to retrieve Shurikens of Ice.
Season 1: Rise of the Snakes
Episode 2: Home
Shipwrecked Destiny's Bounty.
Episode 3: Snakebit
Flying Destiny's Bounty
Episode 13: Day of the Great Devourer
Crashed Destiny's Bounty

Ninjago season 2, episode 9- The Last Voyage
Well it’s not the last voyage that the ninja go on, there’s at least two more after this season.
Hm. The lack of stone army is worrying, as is the lack of empty ocean. Also how far can that Falcon fly? I get that it’s a robot but also it’s called the “endless ocean”
Misako how come you didn’t mention this until now????? It would have been nice to know this sooner, even if it wouldn’t have helped until we got to the temple of light
Also why are we saying they no longer have their elemental powers when we literally saw Kai use them at the beginning of the season (if they were weak)
Crazy that the temple of light is on the dark island, I wonder if there’s a darker counterpart on ninjago?
Awww ed and Edna! Awwww Cole’s dad I forgot the name of! And cole’s three other parents because I’m making his dad poly, the royal blacksmiths are all poly now. Awwwww dareth!
“So I command the wind, cool.” HE KNOWS.
Also Zane’s father foreshadowing
Also i love that Zane got an adoring crowd of fangirls long before Kai did, also comic book man!!!!
Do we ever see comic book man after season 2????
Dareth you could do me no wrong, literally, I could very easily take him in a fight
Hmmm. Zane’s falcon not returning is worrying
Oh my god they’re family I love them!!!!!
Oh okay the falcon’s okay that’s good
Oh hey it’s the falcon them
OH SHIT THE FALCON’S DEAD
HOW DID THEY NOT NOTICE GISNT STORM APPROACHING?????
IS THAT DARK MATTER FROM KIRBY????? OH MY GOD ITS DARK MAYYER FROM KIRBY!!! DOES THAT MAKE THE OVERLORD ZERO???? IS THE DIGITAL OVERLORD 02????
WHY DO THE STARTTEETH LAUGH I HATE THIS
THIS WOUKD BE SO MUCH EASIER IF WE COULD FLY
OH IT BIT COLE IT BIT COLE
Oh okay so they’re resistent to spinjitzuIM SORRY THEY EAT THROUGH METAL?????
Oh okay fade to black and we’re fine alright I guess.
Zane. When you say you sense something. What are you talking about, OKAY ZANE HOW DO YOU KNOW THESE THINGS.
Jayyyy
DR. JULIENNE MY BELOVEDDD
“I think we’re safe.” Hm. Safe from what julienne? Safe from what…. I wonder I wonder
Wow julienne was really bored huh
Jay honey
Ah, it was samukai’s fault then, I guess that makes sense.
A…. Leviathan? Are there several leviathan class creature in the area? Am I sure whatever I’m doing is worth it??
A right the leviathan! THIS IS FINE.
Hmmm I vaguely remember having a headcanon that Lloyd was colorblind, im gonna keep that. He is now green-red colorblind :) Morro will later bully him about this, that is how he finds out he is colorblind
I love when characters will hum or have their ringtone as a background song or the intro
This episode is so wholesome I’m cryinggg
Oh. Oh I really hope no one uses the memory switch for nefarious activities. I REALLY REALLY HOEP THAT DOESNT HAPPEN BECAUSE I CANNOT FOR THE LIFE OF ME REMEMBER
ALSO THERE ARE SEVERAL LEVIATHAN CLASS CREATURES IN THE AREA ARE YOU SURE WHATEVER YOURE DOING IS WORTH IT
AH FUCK IT OPENED ITS EYES-ZANE DONT DIVE OFF THE SHIP PLEASEE
I’m surprised those chains didn’t get eaten by the starteeth before this
“Because no one deserves to be held captive, not even a monster.” *worries in ice emperor*
I. Do we ever see the leviathan again??

Everything Right/Wrong with Ninjago “Legacy of the Green Ninja” E9: The Last Voyage
Another short one this week, and sorry it’s late! Disclaimers: Show owned by LEGO. This is not a professional review/critique- it’s mainly intended for comedy!
Reblog, comment, and/or like! And make sure to tell me your thoughts!
- Intro ✅
- Opening shot makes it look like the entirety of the Dark Island is beneath these ominous clouds, but by the time we get there we see that doesn’t actually look to be the case ❌
- “We just got our tails handed to us!” Kai will say anything in order to avoid cursing in front of Lloyd ❌
- “What’s my elemental power?” Haven’t you said multiple times it was animals? ❌
- “Um, hot air?” “So I command the wind!” Morro has competition
- The biggest sin is on the fandom for not properly acknowledging the child-and-his-pet dynamic between Lloyd and Ultra Dragon ❌
- Don’t get me wrong, I fully understand Zane’s struggle, but he’s not the only one that got the short end of the stick. I mean, Kai and Nya got stuck with saying goodbye to Dareth! ❌
Tumblr media
- ^“There are a few people who’d like to say goodbye to you.” Oh look, the fandom found its way on set
- “I wonder what’s on the island.” “Never before seen ecosystems?” “Never before seen creatures?” “Vegetables that taste like dessert?” None of these things are on the island. ❌
- “I wonder if this is the end of our destiny…” Well that was awful morbid for an 11 year old
- “Well if it is, there isn’t anyone else I’d want by my side.” “You said it!” “Here here!” I can’t. They are ready to die together because that’s what they do! They live together, they fight together. Whether they be fighting snakes or getting sh*tty, minimum wage jobs, they do it together because they’re a family and it just makes me emotional every time ✅
- The Falcon had plenty of time to dodge that weapon ❌
- Lloyd and Misako help Wu to stand but there is no possible way he could actually need their help with that ❌
- “He’s… gone.” “We don’t know that.” “Oh, Zane, I’m sorry.” “We’re not gonna let him go in vain!” Wu attempts to reassure Zane by saying that they don’t technically know the Falcon’s dead, but it seems Kai and Nya have already planned the funeral. ❌
- “This ‘mud’ is condensed evil…” The Overlord played with slime before it was cool
- “Ah, I’m starstruck!” Never in my life have I heard a throwaway line that I wanted to sin and win at the exact same time… ❓❓❓
- “Sink your teeth into this!” Kai knows he’s supposed to say the quip before doing the attack that accompanies it, right? ❌
- Oh no! One of the starteeth is still on board! Wait, no, that’s just Kai’s hair.
- “Zane! Is it really you?” This plot twist blew my mind as a child ✅
- “I thought I was kaput! But as you know in Ninjago,” No one ever stays dead? ❌
- “The past is the past…” that is rarely ever true ❌
- In the flashbacks from S1 we saw Zane wake up with Julien’s dead corpse still on the bed beside him, but now the show is trying to convince us that the body was already gone. Also, even if this new sequence of events makes more sense than the last, it doesn’t explain how Zane could wake up in a random house, think he had no connection to it, and then stumble upon it years later, seemingly with no memory of it ❌
- “I began to question if you’d ever want to see me again… I was afraid you’d think I was a monster…” Zane doesn’t acknowledge Julien’s concern in the slightest, and this entire conflict is never even brought up again. You could say the “no one deserves to be held captive, not even a monster” line later on, which serves as the resolution, to be a parallel (with the “monster” being both the Leviathan and Julien) but calling Julien a monster just seems extreme in context - not only was he forced to build everything he did, but he only built a few cars! It’s not like he made them a lifetime supply of grenades! ❌
- I love the designs on the leviathan’s tentacle-eye thing. It just looks really smooth, and I also like the sounds it makes when it blinks ✅
- *Humming the theme song* “What? It’s catchy!” Cole is me ✅
- “Where did you learn to cook?” Um, you taught him? We saw it in the flashbacks ❌
- “I see no reason for me to have a memory switch. I happen to like my life, and don’t want to ever forget you again.” “We will both never forget.” Julien completely ignores Zane’s very reasonable request by making an on-the-nose and inaccurate reply ❌
- “Release us you MONSTER!” Well that was rude ❌
- Lloyd just used his energy powers to force the leviathan to release them, so can’t he just do that again? ❌
- The lighting throughout this entire episode is really good ✅
Sentence: Julien after leaving the lighthouse:⬇️

Ninjago rewatch part 87
I like Zane's emotional and impulsive side. It's one of the droid's most lovable traits and what makes him truly human.
Like, when he saw that the Leviathan, the beast that was literally pulling the Bounty down into the ocean, is also chained to Lighthouse Island (made-up name) like his father was, he immediately jumps down into a sea full of metal-eating Starteeth to help it.
Mainly because he felt bad for it and believes that it isn't fair if it is held prisoner too.
Logically, there's a good chance that the Leviathan will not stop attacking the ship after it was freed. It might even strike harder. But Zane chose emotion over logic and literally dived straight into danger to save it. Zane chose to empathize with the Leviathan instead of attacking its tentacles to make it let go of the ship. This empathy of his has helped to provide freedom to both of the Lighthouse Island's prisoners.
And then there's the whole falcon rescue mission, which is actually something that went against the ninja's original mission of staying low and finding the Temple of Light
Zane saw his falcon in the middle of an enemy base and immediately went ahead to save it. Other ninja were the ones who tried convince him to prioritize the original mission, but they eventually relented and let Zane save what used to be his only living family member. Zane was heartbroken when Falcon was shot down when it scouted the Dark Island.
Zane was so excited to see the falcon again that he was willing to risk a mission that affects the entirity of Ninjago to save it. The falcon has helped Zane even before he found out that he's a robot, and it helped him immensely. The falcon led the ninja to fin the tree base, where they find out that Cole has been hypnotized and where they picked up Lloyd after the Serpentine ditched him for good. The falcon is also responsible for the discovery of Destiny's Bounty and saved the ninja from homelessness.
Zane immediately took the opportunity to save it instead of risking never seeing it again or that it'll get scrapped by the Stone Soldiers looking for parts. Even if he's risking his mission that can determine the fate of Ninjago.
I love this nindroid.

Hello there! Good morning/noon/afternoon/evening or whatever time you read this, but I have request for doing a Echoxreader, the storyline can be whatever you like. And also thx in advance if you pick this! :D
Awww Echo my beloved; he seems like such a well-meaning sweetheart. ALSO YES FINALLY A MOMENT TO PUT IN SOME FLUFF
Lost at Sea, Calm in Mind
Where Echo makes a new friend.
Well, this wasn't part of today's plan. You were just going to take your sketchbook and sail into the Endless Sea just enough so you could get a nice view of Ninjago's ports, and then draw it. However, you became too engrossed into your artwork that you failed to notice the darkening clouds, and before you knew it, you were in a storm. The boat you borrowed tipped this way and that, as the waves threw you around and carried you along in the currents.
At one point, Starteeth began devouring your boat, but there was nothing you could do about it, as they greatly outnumbered you. Still, you didn't stop trying to pluck them off where you could reach. Soon one of them chewed through a rope holding the boom in place, and it swung around and hit you overboard. Luckily you were wearing your life vest, but you struggled anyway as giant waves crashed over you and tossed your body around. You tried to keep your head above water, but at one point, a piece of your ship slammed into your stomach, the wood puncturing your side, and causing you to swallow a bunch of water and choke. If you ever made it out alive, you would treat yourself to a whole bunch of your favorite food and binge all your favorite shows for a week.
When you woke up, you gasped for breath, and shot up like a rocket. You groaned and held your stomach in pain, and lay back down gently. Looking around, you seemed to be on a bed in a one-room apartment. It was rather small, with only the bed you were on, a table, and a little fridge, along with other trinkets. Looking out the window, the sky was clear and blue, and it made you wonder where you were, or how long you were out for. "Hello?" You called out, but no one answered you, and you figured you were alone. You might as well get some rest; there was nothing to do.
Waking up again, you were still in that same room, but by your bed was a bowl of hot soup and a glass of what looked to be fresh juice. Someone was here recently. "Hello?" You asked again, "is anyone here?" But whoever was here vanished already. Still, it felt impolite not to thank them. "Uhm, thank you. For helping me, and the meal, and stuff." You could hear distant mechanical whirring, before it stopped. Whoever was here must've been shy.
Within two days, you were already healed up enough to get out of the bed, stretching your muscles and walking around on your unused legs. You decided to search for the person who helped you, as you were curious of how they looked. You were quick to discover that this wasn't just a single room house, it was actually a large tower, and you were at the top floor. You weren't quite looking at where you were stepping, as you were too awed by the tower, and you tripped and started tumbling down the flight of stairs.
You shrieked fearfully, as you just kept going and going, but something finally grabbed you by the back of your shirt and hauled you into a standing position. You caught your breath before speaking, "thank - thank you, I wasn't looking where I was going and I-" Your sentence died in your throat as you turned to look at your savior. So many questions ran through your mind at once, and you couldn't pick a single thing to ask the metallic creature in front of you. It was clearly intended to look humanoid and familiar, but it's body was rusted and forgotten.
"I understand if you are confused by what I am, but I promise I am not here to harm." It makes a little realization noise, then holds its hand out. "I am Zane, built to protect those who cannot protect themselves." You'd heard that name before, but from where?
"Oh, hi Zane." You slowly hold your hand out to shake his, and in doing so you introduce yourself. "I'm (Y/N), uh, here to draw things and create, I guess."
He chuckles, "you're very charming."
For some reason, his words make you feel warm. "Thank you..." no one's ever said anything nice about you before; not even your parents. "You're pretty cool, too!" Certain parts of him squeal as they move; the buildup between the joints were likely causing damage. You wonder why he's here. "So...who-" you cut yourself off, not wanting to sound insensitive for asking about who made him. Do robots get offended by that? You didn't want to find out. "What are you here for? Where did you come from?"
"My father, Dr. Julien, made me. I was meant to resemble his son, Zane." He sounds a little sad after mentioning the last sentence.
You're confused, though. "I thought your name was Zane, are you meant to be, like, super twins, or something?"
"I'm not sure if I should talk about it now. Perhaps you'd like to take a tour?" He puts on a smile, and you know you hit a sore topic for him.
"Oh, uh, yeah!" You reply with enthusiasm, hoping it helps him feel better.
He shows you around the entire inside of the tower; where the food was stored, where the tools were, and even the little mini robot on the top floor. "He doesn't have a name?" You asked sadly, turning to Zane. Honestly, you felt uncomfortable referring to him like that, seeing as how he was built to be identical to his brother, yet was sentient, and you hoped you could call him something else someday.
"No. I haven't really been able to come up with any. Perhaps you should try?"
Humming with thought, you try to come up with something. You don't want it to sound pet-like, because even if this robot isn't sentient, it doesn't seem right. "Do you think Jean sounds good?"
He lets out a rusty giggle, "it sounds fun!" And you smile knowing that you made this lonely being happy.
At the end of the day, after a nice meal cooked by...your roommate, you lay down in bed and sigh. Looking over, you see him stand in the entry, and you frown. "I remembered in the tour, that this was the only bed. Did you want it back?"
"Oh," he shakes his head, and waves his hands in an insistent manner, "it was never mine, it was my father's. I sleep in the basement."
"But it's all rocky and uncomfortable down there!" You cry, before scooting over. "Here, here, you can come share with me, I don't mind it." You pat the empty spot, and hold the covers up for him.
"Are you sure? I'm not soft, nor warm, and my rust might stain your clothes." He plays with his fingers, which seem to be the only properly cared for thing on his body. Of course, if they weren't clean, you would have gotten infected cuts when he cared for you.
You shrugged, "I have enough warmth to share, and if you're really worried about the rust, we can give you a super cleaning session tomorrow! You're lucky my dad made me wash his car, now I know how to clean all sorts of metals!"
He smiles at that, and settles down beside you in the bed. "Thank you, (Y/N)."
The next morning, as promised, the two of you are downstairs in the basement getting out all sorts of cleaning tools and sponges. "So, do you think I'm healed up enough to go home today?"
"Oh," he looks at you with a sheepish grin, "you are healed enough to walk, but you're not quite ready for a swim. It is better to wait for a rescue ship, or helicopter."
The two of you head to the exit to the tower with some buckets of fresh water, cleaners, sponges, steel wool, and all sorts of other things. "What...what do you mean, a swim?" Part of you knew what was happening; you were caught in a storm at sea and probably ended up on an island, like he suggested, but at the same time, part of you wanted to believe you were just at a beach.
He opens the door to show off the island you were on. Not only was there no other land in sight, but this island was small as well. A few tears slip down your cheeks, as you realize how far from home you are now, but it doesn't matter.
He puts a hand on your shoulder. "(Y/N)? You do not seem as upset about this as I thought you would be."
You shake your head, "other than my personal belongings? There's nothing to miss." You put down your things and look around the back of the tower. There's a garden with plenty of food growing, and a large water filter meant to clean the sea water and make it drinkable.
"What about your family? Your friends?" He seems genuinely worried about you, so you decide to confide to him.
Sighing, you speak, "I've never had friends before, I was the lonely art student at my school, so no one wanted to talk to me. I don't miss my family because I know they don't miss me back."
He stands up with his arms out, letting you sponge him down with water before getting to work on him. He seems to be thinking hard. "Do...you know why they won't miss you?"
You scoff, "they don't care about me, they like my older brother so much more than me." Despite not having the need to swallow, he makes the gesture anyway, leading you to believe that something similar happened to him with this 'older brother Zane' guy. So you continue talking about it to him. "They praise him for every little thing, and don't say a single thing about my hard work, they just tell me to either work harder, or that I'm trying too hard. They ask me 'why can't you be more like your brother'? I hear it almost every day; like I can never make them happy. Whenever he fails a test, all mom and dad do is give him a dessert and tell him he can do better next time, but if I fail, I get sent to my room and get grounded for a week. It's like they want me to be just like him, and if I try to be myself at all, it's like I'm not worth anything to them."
You don't even realize you're crying by the end until the robot in front of you reaches out and rubs a couple away. He watches you freeze, and flinches. "I apologize, you were crying, and I wanted to help-"
Despite the wetness of him, you hugged him anyway. "Thank you. No one's ever listened, and no one's ever cared about me like this before."
He hugs back, but starts to fidget when you let him go. "I would...like to talk about my past, as well." He looks to you for approval, and you smile at him.
"You don't need to ask me for anything, just talk to me when you need to." You encourage, and he takes in a deep breath.
"Mine is similar to yours, in that I was made to be perfectly like my brother. The only difference between me and him is that he is a hero, a ninja with ice powers, and I'm just an ordinary robot. I thought my father loved me, but he just loved the one I was meant to resemble. He forgot about me quickly, when he left the island." He let you scrub away at the stubborn bits, and continued on. "I thought he would come back, maybe one day, but he still has yet to return. He is probably deceased; he was old and not even meant to be alive yet. I doubt I meant anything to him."
You look up at him with sincere eyes, "well, you mean something to me." You feel flustered, "I mean, we hardly know each other, but...I would like to."
He smiles. "I would like that as well."
After the wash, he's finally all clean, and he even sparkles in the sun after you buffed and polished him. He's still admiring himself; watching the way the light reflects off him. It was a lot of hard work, almost two hour's worth of it, but you got it done. "I look beautiful, thank you, (Y/N)."
You look over at him, laying stretched out on the grass as you relax your spine from hunching over him all that time. "Yeah, no problem!" You hope he knows what joking is, as you try to play around. "I won't have to hear your creaking echo around the tower anymore."
His head snaps up to look in your direction, his face full of awe. "It's perfect, I love it."
"Love - love what?" You look around in confusion.
He smiles, coming up to you, "you're really talented at naming things. Echo is a really nice name."
"You want me to call you Echo?"
He nods, "I've noticed your reluctance to call me Zane, and I understand why. I, myself, have been trying out different ones, but none of them seem to fit, until you came along. Echo is perfect."
You stand up and hug him, "it's the perfect name for a perfect guy."
"I think I'm going to like it here a lot more with you around, (Y/N)."

It's 6am, I just woke up from another dream--
--about Echo returning.
And it's another island adventure dream but FAR MORE OOOHHH OKAY THAN OWWIE OH NO. It had the same energy as Nya trying to figure out who Samurai X was. And Echo was not a villain this time.
Actually the dream had the S14 guy as the villain, the one with the mask, spoilers.
It started with a fight between masked man, who's name I neglect to remember, and the ninja. They barely even get a chance to fight him before someone in a hodded cape swoops in and kicks him clean off his thone/podeum. They guy lands poorly and his leg gets messed up but continues fighting while the ninja just s t a r e at them.
The ninja only make a real reaction when they see the mystery man use the element of wind, and they're all utterly bewildered.
The mystery man can't hold them all off and is knocked far into the forest, presumably dead considering how far he went, and the rest of the ninja are separated into groups (Kai and Cole, Nya and Zane, Jay and Lloyd with Wu and Misako).
It followed Kai and Cole mostly, just discussing the possibility of two elemental masters of wind (they recalled Krux and Acronix) and that this guy could be dangerous. While they're talking, they bump into the motionless body of that cloaked person and Kai literally nearly pukes. Cole manages to get close to the guy and with prompting from Kai, pulls back the hood to see, not a man, but a nindroid! And a nindroid that looked eerily like Zane.
.
That's when it cut to Lloyd and Jay, they're talking with Wu and Misako about the mystery man, and this is where Wu info dumps that, after an elemental master passes without any heirs, the elements will take an unknown amount of time to present itself in a new host. It depends on that persons destiny and whether or not they're fit to use it and yada yada.
Lloyd understands that this would mean morro would no longer be the elemental master of wind, since after the DotD, he legit died and is gone for good. Which resulted in the element passing on. Wu comments that this is the fastest he'd seen an element passing on and presenting itself, and says that whoever this person is, must have been picked for a very good reason.
Jay then starts making a ridiculous list of people that he thinks could be the new master of wind, despite Wu telling him the probability of Jay knowing this master, is near impossible (Jay gets a kick outta this r e a l soon).
.
Then we hop back to Cole and Kai, who are freaking out over the rusty version of their friend who somehow has elemental powers too??
Kai says they should leave him here, saying it could be an evil nindroid, since they were also based off of Zane's prints. Cole argues and says they should take him back for questioning, and that Cole would be very happy to carry him.
While they're arguing, the fake Zane starts to wake up, and in a comedic way, screams at Cole and Kai, who in turn also start screaming. The mystery nindroid awkwardly chuckles and remarks that this was not particularly how he wanted to introduce himself, but anything works...
Kai and Cole begin questioning him and he answers their questions, starting with his name, telling them his name was Zane, but upon seeing their reactions, he says they can call him Echo.
Echo tells them they need to get into shelter, since at night, the island becomes unbearable and deadly. Kai and Cole reluctantly follow, continuing to ask questions while the three of them walk away, Echo limping from his earlier fight.
.
"Why are you on a random island?" Kai asked
"My raft washed up in a lightning storm." Echo replied.
"So did Julien build you too?" Cole continued.
"Yes, I would reluctantly say he is, in essence, my Father"
"Reluctantly?"
Echo did not answer.
Cole broke the silence "Where did you come from?"
"There is a lighthouse, in the-"
"-middle of the ocean between ninjago and the dark islands. You were there?" Kai interrupts.
"You know of the lighthouse? You were there?" Echo wondered "How come you did not know of my presence?"
"Your father never said anything, neither did Zane." Cole answered his question, giving the earth ninja even more of his own.
"Oh, no. My brother would not know of me, I was built in the lighthouse, not--wherever he was built" Echo confirmed "How did you get past the leviathan?"
"Zane swam to the chains and broke them with those star thingys" kai shivered, recalling those star shaped demons--
"Oh, you mean the Starteeth!" Echo begins laughing lightly "You know, one time, a bunch of them washed up and ate through the window in the basement. The basement was flodded and made me all rusty. I couldn't move for a week!" He walked slightly ahead while laughing hard.
He suddenly stopped laughing and looked serious "Looking back on it now, it was probably not funny."
Kai and Cole shared a look before Cole jumped up, realising something, and whispered close to Kai.
"Hold on a second, we completely forgot about his powers!"
"Oohhh, you're right! Hold on, I'll ask 'em."
Cole was going to pull him back to explain how shouldn't just--ask--but Kai had already begun running to catch up.
"So how did you end up an elemental master?"
"An ele-mento-who-what?" Echo fumbled his words.
"An elemental master? Y'know, with the crazy wind powers."
Cole was ready to punch Kai out, the man couldn't be subtle to save his life, which it just might right now.
"Oh! Honestly, Red, I have no idea." Echo had called Kai, Red, as the other two masters had not given their names. "I just remember the lighthouse getting nearly blown into the sea after weeks of strong winds. I had not realised the strong winds were the cause of my emotions. It was--new and scary. Gizmo was there to help me."
"The little cleaning robot? You brought that little guy with you too?" Cole caught up with Kai and the second wind master.
"Of course, he is my only friend! I would not abandon him the way I was. That is too cruel of a punishment for any being, organic or metallic." Echo yelled, a breeze shook the trees. Cole stayed quiet, but silently apologised to the nindroid.
Their questions were ended as they came across a half-cave-half-hut-like shelter. Where the settled and only prayed for their respective brothers.
.
There was a lot more small talk in the dream but I cut it down to the funnier and more important parts.
The next bits of the dream is fuzzy, but I know it revolves around the ninja reuniting and accepting the mystery person into their group while they defeat the evil and escape the island.
Kai and Cole agree to Echo's pleas to not tell Zane for the time being, as he doesn't want Zane to see his brother for the first time looking like--how he looks.
Each of them get some interactions with Echo, with his identity hidden, remaining mute as to not throw them off with his voice. He even has an interaction with Zane where Zane politely asks Echo not to keep staring at him, as he's been doing that since they came together. Zane pegs his curiosity to "he's never seen a nindroid before" and Echo confirms that for him. (unknowing the truuuuth aaaaa)
I'll write Jay's interaction with Echo another time maybe, and how he figures it out, since hoooo boy it hurt. Echo didn't remember Skybound so Jay's just mentally torturing himself for the rest of the journey.
The ninja that find out its Echo is Nya, Jay, Cole and Kai.
.
I'm gonna jump to the end, because my dream also jumped to the end? Rip. But the end what what gave me the Nya and new Samurai X vibes, but less fighting and more chill chat.
.
.
He was on a real boat. Not a makeshift raft constructed out of his father's old bed, table, chairs and shelves, not pushed forward by his newly explained "elemental powers". A real boat, one that would take him away from tiny islands that kept him prisoner, away from the existential dread of loneliness. He'd be free. Free from fearing his last day would be solitary and sad. In one day alone, he'd made a literal boat load of friends. They wouldn't abandon him, not as his father once did.
He was happy, he felt really, truly happy. But he didn't smile. Yes he had friends, but what he wanted more than anything else, was his brother. He was right here on the boat, but Echo's own worries about how his brother would perceive him, how his brother would react to seeing him in such a state (Upon first meeting too! Talk about first impressions), persuaded him to otherwise say nothing.
Deep down, Echo knew he had nothing to fear, he'd heard stories from his father, before he'd locked him away, about Zane and about what it was like--just the two of them. Happy. And from what Echo had seen, Zane was more that strong. Not just physically, nindroid and all, but mentally and emotionally. Echo only wished he had that confidence, the ability to say nothing but be so loud at the same time.
It would make talking to him a lot easier, if he had to say so himself.
Echo, however, had his thoughts interrupted by the sound of footsteps he hadn't even registered, and a soft, yet firm, hand on his shoulder. He tensed just slightly, preparing himself to pull his hood down further.
"It's nice, is it not?" That voice, it was Echo's voice. No, Echo had his voice. His brother was standing right next to him. So close and yet so far, just one swipe of his hood would bring them together, finally. But he resigned himself to simply nod in response. He hadn't come this far to give up now.
A comfortable silence covered the two like a thin layer of snow, fitting considering who was standing next to him. It would almost make him laugh.
"You fought well, out there," Zane started, Echo had thought he was done and nodded again, a small smile forming on his face. Zane may not have known who he was complimenting, but Echo took every moment of it with pride. But then his world span at Zane's continuation.
"For a nindroid."
Zane looked down with a small smirk. Like he'd told the best joke in history. Echo tightened his grip on the wooden railing of the bounty, crushing the paint under his permanently short nails. Zane must've noticed, but didn't say anything. Either in respect for his privacy or because he wanted to hear the confession himself.
In Echo's mind, he was obviously panicking. He didn't want his brother, someone who he'd heard stories from his father, the bot he was built off of, his singular role-model, to find out who he was, like this?
Despite the fear in his ticking heart, he did something probably really stupid and something that would likely result in his downfall. He thanked him.
"Thank you... How- how did you know?" Though, he lowered the pitch oh his voice. It would not be difficult for Zane, or anyone really, to rase the pitch and find out who he was, it still calmed him down just a bit.
"A nindroid knows a nindroid. A brother knows a brother."
Oh I'm f*ucked...
There was only panic, in his systems. The ticking of his clockwork had never sounded louder in his ears. It'd drowned out the sounds of water, the automatic breathing he for some reason had, the cracking of wood underneath his palms was the only sign that ticking was not the lone sound in the world.
He fell out of his anxious trance when the hand left his shoulder and those footsteps came back. No. They were moving away. Echo looked back, moving his fingers to clutch his hood tight against the unintentional winds that now followed him and his emotions. He could see Zane walking towards the steps of the bounty, but halted at the top of them, his hand instead lazily laying on the banister.
"Don't worry, I won't tell them-" He called, just loud enough for Echo to hear over the breeze.
-about what? That he knows who I am? That he'd practically lied to them? That he knew everything all along, because of course he knew, this was Zane, how could he not know, he-
"-Cryptor."
Echo ceased all thoughts from his head. Cryptor? What was that? Was that some kind of fruit? Or a vegetable?
Echo turned his body in the direction of his brother to ask him or at least say goodbye, but he was gone. He'd walked off and down the stairs. Leaving behind not so much as a sheet of frost.
The clockwork child stayed standing there, pure surprise, fear, relief, confusion--actually a lof of emotions he didn't know how to process--flooding his brain. If it weren't for the distant voice of Nya yelling about the sudden gusts of wind changing their direction, he would likely not have moved from that position until they landed.
Cryptor. He thought, it must be a nickname. There was no way he couldn't have figured out Echo was his sibling. He'd said, "a brother knows a brother", they didn't have any other siblings. Right? No. It was just them, just the two of them. The only two nindroids in Ninjago.
His father had said so himself. Although, his father had also buried him under scrap metal and kept him hidden from his family.
Anything could be truth now.
Although Zane had left, and there was no one to hear him, he still felt it necessary to acknowledge what happened. Quietly and sadly, he spoke with a smile.
"Good guess, brother."
.
.
.
.
SO Uhh I'm gonna assume this was because i watched DotD last night,,, and so both Cryptor, and Morro were on my brain hense wind and Cryptor calling Zane "brother", but I always have Echo on the brain man,,, so uhh. Echo for the new master of wind? Anyone? I think it's cute,,,
I probably missed something, other than writing Jay and Echo's interaction, Jay was so sad throughout the rest of the dream, man. And Echo didn't even know why, it was heartbreaking---but it was also a dream and like all my dreams, they never get made into real things.
But I did like the Zane and Echo bit at the end though. There was a second ending, but it relied on the reveal of echo to the audience at the e n d of the dream. Zane still says Cryptor and Echo turns with the camera getting close to him. And as he turns his head to the camera, you see its Echo and then he says "good guess, brother" BUT NGL I THINK IT HURS MORE WHEN WE KNOW FROM THE BEGINNING SOOO.
My dreams are whack dudes,,,
Also this took nearly 3 hours to write its actually 8:50 now Soooo ilya

Alright, you asked for it >:)))
- Has Deity had any crushes before Cole?
- Has she ever had any pets? If not, which one would she want?
- Is she ticklish?
- What does she find romantic? ( I feel like I've asked this before and I'm sorry if I have)
- What's the most romantic thing Cole has ever done for her?
- Does she remember her parents? If so, what's her favorite memory of them?
- Does she still have the Oni plush her parents gave her?
- What's her favorite memory of Mystake?
- What is the worst crime the lil cinnamon roll has committed? Or what action does she feel bad about?
- Does she know about Echo Zane? Has she ever met him?
- What does she hate?
(Have fun! - fishy anon)
(( fishy anon you wound me...doitagain
- uuu I don’t think she has, she genuinely avoided relationships because she was scared of trusting anyone before Cole.
- She has had a pet! She befriended a spider and a snake she found while hiking, though they both died before she moved in with the ninja. :(
- Unfortunately she was ticklish, but the lightning strike when she was a child damaged most of the nerves in her skin, so she can’t feel much anymore.
-What does she find romantic? There’s a lot, but her favorite is surprise picnics!
-The most romantic thing Cole has ever done for her would have to be when she was very exhausted after a night of not sleeping and when she slid into bed at 6am he stayed with her and ignored Zane’s calls for Sunrise exercises
-She...sort of remembers her parents. It’s touched upon in a few fics of the grief she feels from their loss, she even takes Cole to her old village on the Day of The Departed. Her favorite memory is always the times her mother tells the story of how she met her father
-no, unfortunately it was lost in the storm. I’m sure she’d love to have it back.
-Her favorite memory of Mystake is DEFINITELY the one from the shop when she was still blind. (This is around the time Wu uses the travelers tea in s1, episode Tick Tock so it’s a sound memory) It’s when Mystake was telling Wu that those that use the tea never return and the silly snark Mystake used!
-The worst crime shes ever committed would be accidentally serving Cole sugar free cake. The action she feels bad about and does to this day is when she was captured and hypnotized into attacking Cole and the other ninja (in the fic What It Means to Be Human)
-Unfortunately no! She’s never met Echo Zane. In s2 when the other ninja meet him, shes still in a coma, but she’s on the mainland in the hospital being watched over by Lou! Zane decided to let her rest there, and good thing too, I’m pretty sure the ship nearly goes under from the starteeth.
-God she hates summer with a burning passion. Like, she doesn’t mind the season too much, it’s the heat. Metal prosthetics in the summer? Ouch. ))

Imagine if Samukai just took Zane along with Dr. Julien, as a measure to make sure he did stuff.
Considering the fact that Zane’s memory switch was turned off when Dr. Julien died, that would mean that he’d have no idea how he got to the island. So Dr. Julien has an option, tell him or to not tell him.
Not telling him: Zane wouldn’t think mutch of being trapped on the island, he’s spent his life up to that point living in the Birchwood forest so he wouldn’t really think much about the fact that he was now just trapped someplace else. When the skulkin show up to check on Dr. Juliens work Zane’s super friendly to them because “oh, hello nice to meet you my name is Zane”, the skulkin would probably be super confused about his chirpyness. But after they take whatever they need from Dr. Julien they demand to know why Zane’s so freaking chipper, “oh, I didn’t tell him” “why???” “Idk, just figured it would be better”
Dr. Juliens tells Zane something like “oh these here.... nice ppl, uh. Helped me feel better, that’s why I’m not super duper dead right now. Aight champ?”, and Zane’s just like “oKaY”
Telling him: Zane would be pissed, not idiotic pissed just grumpy angry. He would scowl at the skulkin from underneath the stairs when they’d show up.
After they stop coming he gets worried for his daddy-o because food, so he starts diving, getting somewhat damaged in the process because starteeth are things that exists in Ninjago. He kinda befriends the leviathan, but doesn’t free him until the ninja show up and start to leave the island with the two of them.
He has this place below the stairs that’s blocked off with blankets, it’s where he spends the nights: reading and drawing because of boredom. (Dr. Julien forbid him from leaving the lighthouse during the night, because it’s dangerous.) The falcon came with them, so Zane spends his time with it. Sometimes it leaves for the mainland to search for help, this is because Dr. Julien realized that it could help with their rescue. But it just mostly spends that time helping the ninja.
Echo doesn’t exist in this AU (sry), ‘cause it woluld be kinda creepy to make a model replica of your son when you two are living together.
When the ninja show up lots of talking happens, (Not told!Zane is very shocked to hear that the skulkin are the reason that the 2 of them r there) the ninja and crew find out that Zane’s an Android when he gets half of his face chewed off when he dives into the ocean to free the leviathan. When the ninja leave for the temple of light Zane comes with them because he feels like he has to for some BiZaRe reason (it’s the vision thing), would you believe it that everyone’s a little shocked to find that the random android from the middle of nowhere that they found on accident is actually the EM of ice. He receives a very small amount of training, mostly how to hold a sword without killing himself.
After that he helps with the school, but recivess very little training so he’s above Dareth or around him in skill. He still dies in s3. S4 rly the same but Zane finds his true potential, somebody else figures out the dragon thing. S5 Zane figures out spinjitzu at the start of the season, and then has to cram airjitzu into his brain just after. He isn’t the best at it, and by that I mean he learned it after Nya.
Zane really isn’t recognized as a ninja by the public, just as the hero who blew himself up to save them all.
Everything still happens but Zane’s just some amounts less skilled, s11 (ice chapter) is more manipulative from Vex. But at the same time Zane is a 40-100 yr old man, because he was built like 40 yrs ago, then he got sent back in time in the never realm for like 60 yrs so that means he’s like a 100 at the end of season 11.
So in this AU, the ninja are babysitted by a calm 40/100 year old man. That isn’t Wu. This Zane also has a fascination with yellow butterflies, and the falcon looks still the same as it did at the start. (He totally has a yellow butterfly generator in his chest.)
He uses more flowy clothes, like a white kimono kinda thing, with those wooden sandals with socks thing that Japan’s got going. He’s got this mystical wibe about him at the end of s11. He totally hides those big ass shurikens and smaller ones in his sleeves, I’ve now decided that the bow is made out of ice but the arrows are just normal arrows. He stores them the same as the shurikens.
So he’s basically got more a graceful, calm feel to him. Even though he’s not the best fighter he’s a good listener, but that doesn’t mean that he isn’t somewhat socially awkward. It wouldn’t be Zane without the awkwardness.
Dr. Julien still dies btw.

The Boat Rewatch - Legacy of the Green Ninja
(I want to note a new rule I have implemented for the counting of certain boats. If a boat listed is italicized, that means a very minor one episodic change of a boat has occurred that gets reverted within that episode, and it will not be in the total count. This way, the boat count feels more accurate, but these changes are also noted. Of course, if a boat crashes and gets rebuilt, those will be counted as normal, because that is a drastic change, not a minor change)
Episode 1: Darkness Shall Rise
The Black Bounty
Episode 2: Pirates vs. Ninja
Original Pirate's Destiny's Bounty (flashback)

Underneath the Deck - Jaya (Jay x Nya) (#NinjagoValentinesWeek2019 - Day Three - AU Ship)
What’s this? Jaya making another appearance? For Day Three of Ninjago Valentine’s Week, I wrote a Jaya pirate AU!
This was actually an idea suggested to me by my friendo @nightlybirdie back in November, but I never got to it. Now’s the time :D
Title: Underneath the Deck
Franchise: Ninjago
Pairing: Jaya (Jay x Nya)
Summary: Jay Walker is merely an engineer in the Destiny's Bounty, yet his best friend is somehow the admiral of Ninjago's fleet. After a storm hits their ships, him and Nya spend some time alone together.
Word count: 1,032
Read this on AO3 and FFN!
Not once his life did Jay imagine he'd befriend the admiral of Ninjago's fleet.
Nya was everything Ninjago needed; a brilliant, strong-willed woman, who wouldn't stop at the worst of storms.
And Jay? Jay Walker was merely an engineer. He would never understand why Captain Lloyd wanted him on the Destiny's Bounty - the lead ship of Ninjago's fleet.
But him and Nya were friends.
And Jay cursed himself in the name of the Endless Sea for wanting to be more than that.
Speaking of the Endless Sea, they were currently anchored in the middle of it. There had been a storm the previous night, and the crew had stayed up throughout all of it, fighting to keep the ships together.
As if the sea water crashing on their prow wasn't enough, Starteeth had been involved. The Destiny's Bounty was made of the finest materials, yet it was no match for the Starteeth's teeth.
They lost two ships that night.
Thankfully the Destiny's Bounty survived the storm, but the entire ship had been flooded. The whole crew was working together to empty it, let alone patch up the injured people. According to Zane, their second mate, there was a lighthouse they could stop at in sight, but they weren't getting anywhere with their ships flooded.
And that's how Jay got stuck with Nya at the stores of the ship, emptying the water into the ocean.
Lot of damage had been caused to the ship, but the biggest one had to be at the stores. There was a huge hole, and they lost lots of supplies in the storm. Thankfully they had enough to make it to the lighthouse, and they could only hope they'd find more there.
"Any news from the Captain?" Jay asked, breaking the silence.
The admiral shook her head, filling up another bucket with water. "He's still with his uncle. Apperantly he got hurt pretty bad."
"Oh."
The engineer bit his lip, emptying his bucket. He sighed deeply, looking at the horizon. There was no sign of land, but Jay knew it was only a matter of time before they ran into something, be it friendly or not. They weren't exactly the only ones trying to reach the Dark Island to find the Temple of Light.
And every pirate knew that the Dark Island meant no good.
"You alright there?"
The sound of Nya's voice caught Jay off guard, but he managed to keep himself from splashing into the water.
"Can I ask you something?" Jay said. "You might not wanna hear it."
"What is it?"
For a moment, Jay froze. Nya's uniform was soaking wet, hat included. Her sleeves had been ripped, her boots were torn, and even her sword wasn't at a good shape. She had dark circles under her eyes, which didn't surprise Jay, as she had stayed up all night fighting off the Starteeth. Her black hair looked even darker from the water, and the cuts on her cheeks didn't flatter her either.
One could say that she looked terrible, but to Jay, even like this, she was the most beautiful person that had ever existed.
That was why he had to do this.
"Why aren't you up there?" he asked.
Nya tilted her head to the right. "What do you mean?"
"It's just… There's chaos on the deck, Lloyd is clearly not in a state to give out orders, and everyone's waiting for someone to tell them what to do. You're the admiral of the entire fleet, so shouldn't you be the one to-"
"Have you considered that I'm not in a state to lead right now either?" Nya interrupted him.
Jay couldn't remember the last time he had been mad at her.
"Well, tough luck then! You think I'm in the mood for emptying buckets all day? I'm an engineer, my place is making sure the capstan doesn't get stuck again. But I'm needed here, so that's where I am!"
"I lost two ships today!" Nya yelled, silencing Jay. "Kai was on one of those ships, because I told him to watch over it! Because of me, he almost didn't wake up to see the light of day this morning! You think it's so easy being admiral? You lead them!"
Jay felt like a jerk.
He should have never brought the topic up. Now Nya was mad at everything, mad at him, and he was the only one to blame for it. It was all fine, until he went ahead and ruined it-
"And maybe…" Nya spoke up again, snapping Jay out of his thoughts. "Maybe I like being down here with you."
"With me?" Jay asked, almost mumbling. "But I'm just-"
"You're not just an engineer, stop saying that!" Nya snapped again. "You're so much more than that. You're strong, brave, you're my closest friend! You're Jay."
"What are you-"
"I'm saying I love you, you jerk!"
Jay had lost the ability to think. He was sure that whatever that was, it wasn't real, and that his mind must had been playing tricks on him. Nya was supposed to hate him, so why the heck had she just-
"I'm sorry," Nya said, putting a hand on her temple. "I shouldn't have said that now, it wasn't a good time-"
"Stop."
Jay watched as Nya's gaze fell upon his once again, and their eyes locked. She was right there next to him, her hand just barely stroking his, and their bodies only inches apart.
"Just stop for a second," Jay said, taking hold of both her hands. "I love you."
Jay never thought it was possible for his heart to beat that fast.
"A… Are we supposed to kiss now, because I have no idea how to do this," Nya mumbled.
Jay chuckled nervously, not really sure how to respond. "Do… Do you wanna save it for a more appropriate time?"
Nya nodded, smiling at him. "Maybe a time when the crew won't be needing me on the deck."
Jay couldn't help but grin. "So I was right."
"Shut up, engineering boy," Nya teased, heading for the stairs.
Jay rolled his eyes, but in truth, there wasn't a time he had ever been happier.
