Hi
This is my first time requesting here, and I humbly come to you with a request for some headcanons. Hear me out: The Ace, Deuce, Jack, Jamil, and Silver finding a doodle of them with little hearts around it in the reader's notebook
Ace Trappola:
Ace absolutely eats it up. While it does start a hurricane of excited butterflies in his stomach he can’t ignore what he saw, asking with a grin what that was about. He’d poke and prod until he got a confession, grinning at how you couldn’t meet his eye. He’s pleased to know his feelings are returned and that it wasn’t him caught doodling your name with hearts around it—not that he did that.
Deuce Spade:
Deuce had to do a double-take, confirming with his own two eyes that there are at least five hearts surrounding his name in your notebook. You had handed him your notes with such ease, so had you done this on purpose? Were you trying to send him a message? His face scrunched as he wracked his brain for a meaning that was so surface level it went directly over his head, handing your notebook back while mumbling a thanks as he was too distracted to study anything now.
Jack Howl:
Jack is a man deep in denial about his own feelings, which meant he could easily ignore that doodle even if the question of what it meant ate away at him. He had felt guilty for looking at your notebook in the first place, thinking it was disrespectful without asking first, and the fact he actually saw something he shouldn’t have… He’s more flustered around you than usual after seeing it, not sure how to pretend he didn’t see that doodle (or how to avoid the feelings bubbling to the surface inside him when he remembered it).
Jamil Viper:
Jamil does consider for a moment this is some sort of juvenile prank to get a rise out of him, quickly dismissing the idea when he recognized your handwriting as you were hardly the type to do such a thing. Unfortunately, the legitimacy of the doodle left him feeling tense, forced to wonder what it actually meant. Had you just enjoyed writing his name and then the next shapes you wanted to doodle happened to be hearts? Were there numerous other names written in your notebook in just the same way? He won’t ask, nor will he admit how jealous he felt at the concept his name might not be special.
Silver:
Silver doesn’t think twice about it initially. He thinks you could’ve just been doodling whatever came to mind, and that his name with hearts could mean nothing. Since he doesn’t recognize this normal ritual of a person with a crush he asked you directly about it, thinking the best way to get an answer would be to be direct. Your flustered reaction and the way you ripped the page out of the book, stuffed away into your bag to potentially never be seen again, doesn’t clear up much for the confused man.

Hyper & Chill | psh
act 24:Photobooth
previous

It started with a simple walk through the mall.
You were supposed to just grab snacks and maybe window shop for a bit, but then—
“Oooh! Lolove, look!” You gasped, grabbing his arm.
Sunghoon barely had time to react before you were dragging him toward the brightly lit photobooth stall near the arcade.
“Lolove, seriously?” He raised a brow, amused. “A photobooth?”
You pouted. “Come on, it’ll be cute! We don’t have any printed pictures together.”
He sighed, but the tiny smile on his lips told you he wasn’t actually against it.
“Fine, fine.” He let you shove him inside the booth, sliding in beside you on the tiny bench.
You excitedly picked a frame on the screen while he casually slung an arm over the back of the seat.
“All right, first one—just smile normally!” you instructed, already posing.
The countdown started.
3… 2… 1—
Click!
You smiled sweetly.
Sunghoon?
The menace was making the goofiest face possible.
Mouth open, eyes crossed, fingers doing bunny ears behind your head.
You gasped. “Park Sunghoon!”
He just grinned.
“Okay, next one, be serious!” you warned, trying to stop laughing.
3… 2… 1—
Click!
This time, he puffed out his cheeks and threw up peace signs, looking absolutely ridiculous.
You smacked his arm. “Sunghoon, I said serious!”
But he was dying laughing. “You actually thought I’d listen?”
You groaned. “I should’ve taken these alone.”
Sunghoon only laughed harder. “Nope, you’re stuck with me.”
The next two shots were no better—you tried to be serious, but he kept making silly faces, so eventually, you gave in and joined him.
By the end of it, you were both giggling like kids.
But then—
“…Okay, okay,” Sunghoon said, still catching his breath. “I’ll make it up to you.”
He put in more coins before you could even protest.
You blinked. “Wait, you actually want a redo?”
“Yeah,” he muttered, suddenly focused. “Let’s do it properly.”
And that’s when you realized—his entire demeanor had shifted.
Gone was the playful Sunghoon.
Now, he was serious.
The countdown started again.
This time, on the first shot, he smiled at the camera—a real smile, the one that made your heart do flips.
The second shot, he gently took your hand, intertwining your fingers on his lap.
The third shot—he turned to look at you instead of the camera.
And on the final shot—
He leaned in and pressed a soft, lingering kiss to your lips.
Click!
Your heart nearly exploded.
The flash faded, leaving you both in the dimly lit booth, mere inches apart.
You stared at him, stunned, cheeks burning. “…Sunghoon?”
He smirked, but his own ears were definitely pink.
“Now that’s a good set of photos,” he murmured.
You swallowed hard.
Yeah.
You were never throwing these away.
After recovering from the absolute meltdown Sunghoon just gave you in the photobooth, you both walked out with the freshly printed photo strip in your hands.
You stared at it, replaying the last shot over and over in your mind. Did he really kiss you just like that? So casually? So smoothly??
Sunghoon, on the other hand, was trying very hard to act like his ears weren’t still pink.
“Where to next?” he asked, rubbing the back of his neck.
You were about to answer when—
“Oh my god, look at this mirror!” You gasped, stopping in front of a cute boutique store.
Right at the entrance was a full-length mirror decorated with heart-shaped stickers and pastel doodles, with a little sign that said “Take a selfie, leave a memory!”
Your eyes sparkled. “We have to take a mirror selfie here.”
Sunghoon groaned. “Lolove, we just took a bunch of pictures—“
“But this is different!” You whined, already pulling your phone out.
Sunghoon sighed, but when you turned your puppy-dog eyes on him, he gave in instantly. “Fine.”
You beamed and dragged him in front of the mirror, angling your phone for the perfect shot.
At first, you both just posed normally—standing close, Sunghoon’s hand resting on your waist while you smiled at the reflection.
Then, just for fun, you made a peace sign while Sunghoon lifted an eyebrow at you.
“Do something cute!” you nudged him.
“Like what?” he muttered.
Without thinking, you turned to him and pressed a quick peck to his cheek.
Sunghoon froze.
You clicked the picture at the perfect moment—him standing completely still, lips slightly parted, ears burning red.
You cackled. “Oh my god, you look so flustered!”
Sunghoon immediately covered his face with one hand. “You can’t just do that!”
“Why not?” You grinned, scrolling to look at the picture. “You kiss me in a photobooth, but I can’t kiss your cheek?”
He huffed, still obviously shy. “…That was different.”
You giggled. “Aw, is my big, confident Sunghoon shy?”
His jaw clenched, and he snatched your phone.
Before you could protest, he suddenly leaned down and pressed a soft, slow kiss to your temple—his lips lingering for just a second.
You barely had time to process it before he snapped the picture.
You gaped at him.
Sunghoon smirked, handing your phone back. “There. Now we’re even.”
You stared at the new photo—him kissing your temple, you looking completely caught off guard.
Your heart exploded.
“…I’m printing this one,” you muttered, cheeks burning.
Sunghoon chuckled. “Yeah, yeah.”
Neither of you said it, but one thing was very clear.
That mirror selfie?
Would definitely be framed later.

First time writing, forgive me if any of this is silly.~•*
Masterlist
New girl ~ Izuku Midoriya x f!reader .~•*
Izuku really had no idea what to think when he first saw you. You were different looking, not in a bad way! But you weren’t Japanese, and it was obvious.
Your demeanor, looks, the way you dressed when you were in the dorms with the rest of the class- it was just so…different.
He was a bit too shy to approach you, which made sense for the boy. It’s not like he couldn’t make friends- no that wasn’t the problem. He’d just never seen anyone of your nationality in person.
He wondered what your country was like, what you were like. From what he’d observed, you were loud and straightforward. You didn’t beat around the bush and were hard working.
Izuku was necessarily obsessed but he did tend to doodle you in his notebook, then silently cringing how pathetic he felt. He was very critical of himself, and wondered how you’d feel about him taking notes over you like you were some lecture.
At one point, you’d walked passed his desk, stopping once you saw the page. It had a drawing of you, with your chin in your palm and your hair cascading down and framing your face beautifully.
“Woah! That’s pretty good,” You commented as you peeped over his shoulder. Poor Izuku wasn’t expecting the suddenness of your presence, and slammed his notebook closed.
“Ohmygosh-“ He squeaked out with rosy red cheeks, his body stiff like he’d been caught doing something scandalous. You however, found his tense demeanor endearing.
You waved him off “meh, don’ worry ‘bout it,” you assured with a warm grin “‘ts not a problem, really. I think you captured my eyes really well.”
Izuku was stunned by hearing your accent. It was so warm and made heat creep up to his ears. He smiled a little and tucked his hair behind his ear, his wild curls shaping his face.
“You think so?” He asked sheepishly, to which you nodded and reached into your bag. You grabbed a black book with stickers on both the front and back, flipping it open.
“Yeah, it looks awesome. It’s cool to see someone else who likes art in class,” you said with a smile, feeling slight excitement bubble up. You placed your own sketchbook on his desk.
Izuku gasped as he looked down at your art. You had several drawings of characters from your favorite anime on the page in pencil. He practically lit up “you watch anime too!? That’s so cool! You really captured the features well! I love the freckles-“
He suddenly paused and blushed “ah-sorry-“ he said as he scratched the back of his neck, pulling his nose from your sketchbook. You simply smiled, “don’ apologize” you chuckled a little and pulled a chair up to his desk.
“Do you have more art in that sketchbook?” You asked. Little did you know, Izuku was more than ready to start gushing over the art he had in his book and the anime he liked.
He was a bit hesitant before he got to know you, but he soon realized-
-He was in deep with this new girl, he just knew it.
Hiyaaaa! Thanks for reading, I’ve never posted on tumblr before, but I like to write and figured this would be a good start. We love needy Izuku 💚

And this here is today’s attempts at drawing Transformers, specifically TF One
I had this idea when I started today, since I knew the faces and noses were giving me trouble yesterday, to try this paintbrush style. The logic in my brain was that the movie was made in 3D, so logistically a more lineless style should work better, right?
I do admit, I think that the lineless style works far better in terms of the eyes and noses being the right shape, but I also admit my lines are probably a bit too soft and I may need to darken them. As well as get something good for the actual thin lines, since the paint brush on its own feels too thick, even at the lowest size
And you know what, since we’re here, does anyone have any Procreate brushes they can suggest for this sort of style? Right now I’m just using Flat Brush, but I wonder if I should use something else
Anyways, so this canvas was supposed to be more D-16, but partway through I figured I should try someone else to draw as well, so I decided Orion, so we could have the yaoi
Honestly my big problem with Pax here is that I don’t have a good comprehensive reference for him, while I can get by just fine with D-16. These were about the best I could get, and that last one I only got because these other two weren’t cutting it

I need high quality references of these characters, or at least specifically their faces. And I’m gonna need even more if I plan to draw Megatron and Optimus as well
But yeah, Orion’s here, and I was also having trouble getting the correct colors for him, because I’m stupid and used to flat colors. D was pretty easy considering he’s just greys, and a yellow tinted grey works just fine there as a grey (though I do admit I’m struggling with his eye color), but I feel like blue tinted Orion looks too blue by comparison. But I don’t know how to give him his proper face coloring without it being the same shade as D-16
I feel like my words aren’t making sense. But just get that Orion colors are a struggle. And still are, because I still don’t think that other grey is the right color
Also Orion has a significantly more complicated helmet than D, so that’s fun
I really wasn’t planning on Orion taking up so much of the space, but I needed to actually practice how he looked so that I could draw him easier. I had numerous attempts at D-16 prior, I could sort of understand his look, but I was flailing in the dark on Orion and needed the practice
I think another problem is that I don’t make him wide enough. But sue me, my character designs usually don’t have their bodies that wide/their heads that small. I’m working on it
I capped off this canvas by just deciding to make a small doodle of Orion kissing D, since why not and also I was too lazy to think of anything else to add
Where do we go from here? I have no clue, but hopefully it’ll go good
#for some reason I have a soft spot for the top left D-16#I think it’s because it reminds me of a game sprite icon#you know the square you’d see when a character’s speaking#I don’t need to explain talk sprites here why am I doing that#anyways yeah#progress but it’s still not quite there yet#transformers#transformers one#my art#d 16#orion pax#megop#I mean technically#art practice

CONTEST HONORABLE MENTIONS
A total of 12 designs were submitted for this contest. Holy crap! I couldn’t ask for more. Not only that but they were all so goddamn cool and creative. It was HARD picking the top three out of all of them. So if you weren’t chosen, you should still be so proud of yourself!! Thank you to each and every one of you for your submissions.
Everyone who didn’t get first place can do whatever they wish with their designs, ofc. Whatever you choose, I wanted to do a LITTLE something to express my thanks. So I did a stupid little doodle for each of them :]
THE SUBMISSIONS
The first submission, and a GREAT start! I love your clean style, and the colors you used. Like I said before, I LOVE the birthmark
SO BADASS!!! Nugget never fails to make an amazing design. The headcanons are so silly and entertaining to think abt. Imagining a dragon who loves to walk on his hind legs for no reason like lmaooo
The colors here are FANTASTIC. The fades between each scale plate are super unique. I really love the pattern of the stars, too. Just a super cool style in general.
I ADORE the idea of nightwing scales going white with age for this dude. As I said before I loveee how he’s shaped. So many fun lore ideas were added to this guy. I love old men
Beautiful wings and awesome colors. The combo of red and blue is really cool. You have such a pretty style!!! And I love their big ears
Another baddassss designnnn. Face marking you added is something I just can’t get over. I had so much fun reading the lore.. and his name (Sickle-Moon) is so cool sounding.??! Where do yall find these names
(As I’ve said) I haven’t seen compression gloves like this for a dragon before! That’s so cool! And the pattern on them makes them even better. The blues are great - need more blue Nightwings in my life
The amount of detail put into this is CRAZY. Especially with those accessories - holy crap. They were something i particularly kept note of because of the job this character has in the story …
Love love loveddd this guy. Again, the tear drop jewelry was something I kept in mind and really liked. There’s so much care put into the scales in this drawing. Omg some of you have patience that I do NOT
#I will have the top results next soon :]#then.. more book 2 news#aiming for early January 👀#for the prologue#tbofs2designchallenge

i remember you mentioning before that you don't really do sketches- just get straight to the lineart. the sketching/lineart process takes way more time than everything else, for me, and i was wondering if you have any tips for doing it your way?
Here's a visual example of what the asker means ^
The answer to how I do this might not be what you want to hear: A lot of practice. I've put a frick ton of time into learning to draw fast, because it is a skill like any other with art.
I can share some quick tips on how I practised and my thinking process though, if people still are curious and may wanna give it a shot!
One of the main ways I practiced this was by using permanent pens and markers while doodling in school. I always disliked how pencil smudged so that came kinda naturally to me, but it was a huge help anyway!
When you work directly onto a pristine white canvas with no guideline you're forced to really think about where you put each line, and get over the fear of mistakes. By doing this you can grow a natural understanding of where the next thing you're going to draw should be.
(Sorry if the picture is not a good explanation, I've never been much a teacher. (Also for full disclosure I did use ctrl+z when drawing this example.)) Here I tried to picture how by having the face shape lined, I can use knowledge of anatomy and what looks good to place the eye of the character in. Then with the eye in I can "Unlock" more feature locations!
It also helps being familiar with the character... I've drawn the cast of this comic so many times that these boys just show up when I ask lol.
This approach has a lot of issues, like it can be very hard to keep a character design consistent. Another is that if u get too bogged down on doing the same thing that works you're going to start making some really stale looking art-- It's so important to not just draw what works but to go for ugly perspectives and weird experiments.
Still, I hope this can help someone! It's not a method that works for everyone, but it's a fun one to explore :)

thranto shorts 01
count: 1331
tone: light, humour
dynamic: thrawn/eli (thranto)
synopsis: after a meeting, eli accidentally leaves his ledger out; thrawn notices one of the commander's doodles and decides to ask him about it.
12+ (language, light innuendo)

Yet another day, yet another meeting with yet another smug, inept bastard of an imperial ‘professional’. Any questions, he’d asked at the end, and Eli could think of one: where they hell do they find these people?
There was nothing ‘professional’ about him whatsoever — and Eli had spent the past ten minutes proving as much in an impassioned rant.
While deciding which aspect of the man’s krayt spit to next criticise, a contemplative voice cut clean into his rage: “You never said that you draw, Commander.”
Eli felt his stomach drop. He turned to the Admiral and stiffened at the sight of him head-buried in a ledger. His ledger.
Suffering the likes of that damn bureaucrat had left Eli so annoyed — so totally riled up — that he’d made a mistake he’d sworn never to make.
He’d left the book out and open.
And the Admiral had taken a curiosity in it.
“I don’t draw,” Eli said defensively, voice so terse it could break, “I just… doodle, sometimes — when I take notes. Helps me focus, sir.”
“Mm…” The Admiral hummed in a way entirely unnerving to Eli. He was too closely focused on whatever he was looking at — and Eli dreaded to think what that might be.
“These lines, Commander,” and he flipped the ledger for his aide to see, pointing at a small caricature of himself in the corner of a page, “they are harsh, jagged; deeply-impressed into the paper. Indicative, perhaps, of resentment.”
Eli reddened at record-speed.
There were certainly worse pages for the Admiral to have happened upon, and Eli sent up a silent prayer of thanks that he hadn’t. Instead, he’d kept it open to the page it was already on. But now, the Chiss was presenting his usual brand of intrusive analysis — one which Eli found far more tolerable when applied anywhere but him.
Thrawn wandered over, taking a place beside his aide. He held the ledger out between them as he traced a hovering finger between details.
“However, I do not appear to be the figurehead of this resentment.” Maybe not, but he was starting to be. “Though the tilted, half-moon shape you have used for my eyes suggests outright anger, you have given me a sword — thus indicating… righteous anger.”
He looked to his aide now, and delivered his conclusion: “Commander, you seem to have projected your own fury at Admiral Karallo onto me.”
“Great, sir; saves me a trip to the shrink.” Eli grumbled. “Can I have it back now?”
“But I’m not finished.” Thrawn’s eyes widened with a strangely intense curiosity. Like he was just getting to the good part.
“By making me the hero of your doodle,” he went on, “you afford me a romantic quality — in both senses of the word. Indeed, the careful attention paid to the curvature of my lips almost suggests something… sensual. Perhaps, then, it is neither just resentment nor anger, but frustration.”
“Wonderful insight, sir.” Eli said dryly, sliding a hand under his ledger and preparing to take it back. He couldn’t see exactly where this train of thought was headed, but disliked it all the same.
Red eyes burning straight into his own, Thrawn asked with all the tact of a train through a town square: “Are you sexually frustrated, Commander?”
“Sir!” Eli exclaimed in what was almost a yell — and snatched the book away, slamming it shut with the force of a starship to an asteroid. “That's that's enough of that. And next time, I would appreciate it if you didn’t go through my things.
For a moment, Thrawn simply stared at him. The very blankness of his face was itself an expression of surprise.
“Understandable, Commander.” The Chiss’ words came slow as he bowed his head apologetically. “However, the book was left open.”
“Alright, alright.” Eli huffed. Sexually frustrated — oh sweet stars above, he wasn’t living that one down. That would haunt his mind for the rest of the day, probably through the night, and possibly even the rest of the week.
Through gritted teeth, he spoke: “Look. Truth is, I don’t think too much about whatever I’m doodlin’ — and I suggest, sir, that you don’t either.”
“Very well, Commander.” An uneasy pause; there was something else. A look of deliberation in the Admiral’s red haze. “Might I keep it?”
“What?”
“If you can bear to part with it,” Thrawn elaborated, “I would like to keep the ‘doodle’ as a… memento. I have never been drawn before, Commander.”
“Aw krayt spit!” Eli rolled his eyes. “Sure you have.”
The Chiss’ gaze narrowed upon him, scalding with new intensity. What silence passed between them was the kind, and long enough, to make you think you’ve made a mistake. It was too late by the time Eli realised his.
“So then, you have other doodles of me, Commander?”
“Now hold up there,” nervous laughter half-scattered Eli’s words, “where’d you get that idea?”
“The certainty of your claim implies that you know, for a fact, I have been drawn before.” Thrawn paused to collect his argument. “Perhaps the Chimaera’s officers make it a common occurrence, to draw their Admiral. Or, perhaps you have made other drawings.”
Well, he had him on that count. All he needed to do was give a flick through the ledger — and Eli found himself thankful for Thrawn’s obsessive analysis. At least that had stopped him from looking elsewhere until he'd finished a thorough examination.
“Could I propose a deal, sir?”
“Go on.”
“If I give you this damn doodle,” he brushed the ledger as if it were dirty — and today, it certainly felt like it was; “will you quit askin’ about it?”
The deepest look of consideration then hung heavy on those blue ridges. Thrawn contemplated his decision with the weight of war.
Eventually, he relented: “For today.”
“Nope. Any day. Forever.”
“No deal, Commander,” Thrawn shook his head gently, “I am afraid we will both have to compromise. One week.”
“A year!” Eli shot back, incredulous.
With the twitch of a brow, Thrawn suggested: “Two weeks.”
Eli gave out an exasperated sigh. Losing his resolve, he countered: “Half a year?”
“One month it is, then.” Thrawn said, a thin smirk upon his lips. Those fucking lips – they were the real villain here. They were what had tripped Eli up — the attention paid to the curvature of this and that…
He tore his eyes away from them and instead considered the ledger in his hands. Then, he thought to the drawing inside.
Hell, he’d be glad to get rid of the thing, if these were the kinds of problems it caused. He opened the book to its latest entry and, without too much care, tore out the doodle from the page.
“Deal, sir?”
Holding out his hand, Thrawn nodded: “One month, no questions. Deal, Commander Vanto.”
With that, Eli pressed the scrap into Thrawn’s cool palm. A weight lifted as he did, and that was that. For at least a month, he could pretend the whole thing hadn’t happened. After that, he’d have to start worrying.
Burning the book seemed like an increasingly good option.
They set off for the bridge side by side then. Not a word was spoken or exchanged as they twisted through corridors and corridors. The Admiral had eyes only for the drawing, which he pored over every step of the way.
Only once reaching the turbolift did Thrawn finally pocket the thing, careful not to crease it, like something precious.
“You know, Commander,” and he must’ve known he was pushing it now, the way just a hint of something smug peppered his words, “it is unusual you decided to draw only my head and hands. The face is important for expression. One hand, perhaps, for the sword. But to give both such detail, down to tendons and veins… Is there something about my hands you find especially–”
“Oh no you don’t,” Eli cut in, “not till next month, sir.”
And hopefully not then, either.
is there any reason why eli would take notes by hand? not really. however, I can make the sillies do what I want, and what I wanted was a silly confrontation about doodling.
I'm considering posting some of my more relaxed, lower-effort, shorter pieces (>1500) on tumblr instead of ao3. this was my test run, so thanks for reading (if anyone has?) and I hope you enjoyed.
feel free to check me out on ao3 :)

『I always thought it would be easy (easy)
To get you out my mind (mind)』
Certainly my sleep could’ve been more peaceful, but after the shit I pulled—drew Mingi’s eyes, for fuck’s sake—I knew I was in for a long night of overthinking and overanalyzing everything. Just for a second I allowed myself to place aside all judgement and foulness I felt towards the smug prick and, yes, admitted, that perhaps he wasn’t too bad to look at. Not a little bit, not even at all. However, this thought unsettled me and quickly made me remember how my blood boiled and nerves rose caused by his stuck-up attitude and irritating smirk. He was an asshole full of himself, and there was no way in hell I would allow his mild handsomeness overshadow his good for nothing personality. Guys like him were only by your side for a short while, while the relationship would feel new and exciting, and after that they dip like you have never even existed on the surface of Earth. That thought alone made me groan last night and punch a pillow before I finally willed my mind to calm down and erase the knowledge of his existence—or of the very obvious drawing of his eyes in my sketchbook, which I started considering my journal at some point.
If the lack of sleep wasn’t enough to put me in a sour mood, then the chilly air of the morning certainly made me grit my teeth as I stormed back inside the house to grab my beige and maroon plaid flannel shirt before running off to catch the bus to university. Currently, Seulgi and I were sat in the cafeteria enjoying our lunches—well, she was, my appetite never found me today—as I chewed the last bits of my quite simple sandwich I have packed in a haste this morning, Seulgi’s mouth, despite being full, was constantly moving and spouting information after information. I was only half-heartedly listening to her at this point—I swear to God, Wooyoung has been the center of our conversation for the past half an hour—as I held my pencil between my fingers and mindlessly doodled in my sketchbook. I wasn’t drawing anything particular, just random shapes which my brain felt necessary to draw as Seulgi suddenly hiccupped, face turning red. I cast her a glance as she quickly opened her bottle of water and chugged down at least half of its contents.
“Are you good?” I asked amused as she fanned her face.
“I think I almost just died.” Her answer made me snort as I grabbed the apple off my tray and bit into it, almost instantly regretting it as I was never a fan of apples.
“No wonder, you keep talking with your mouth full.” I muttered and Seulgi rolled her eyes as she went back to eating her lunch, smiling to herself like an idiot. I rolled my eyes but basked in the silence, finally able to have a little bit of peace of mind. I loved Seulgi and her random rambles, but not when they were about Wooyoung. And lately he seemed to be the only thing she talked about.
“Did you get to rest last night?” She asked as she gulped down her soup, eyebrows furrowed as she took in my appearance, seemingly finally aware that I looked tired. I shook my head with a sigh and turned the page of my sketchbook as I have filled the other one with shapes. Seulgi glanced down at the clean page and grimaced, leaning in closer towards me, “Just how stressed are you right now? That’ll be your third page in the past fifteen minutes.”
“I’m not really stressed,” I corrected her, taking another bite of the apple and regretting it again, “I’m just bored and probably restless.”
“Why?” Seulgi inquired and I shrugged, pressing the pencil against the white sheet of paper and carefully starting to draw sharp and precise lines.
“Don’t know,” I muttered, eyebrows furrowing when suddenly the cafeteria was filled with noise as if a whole crowd entered it, “Mom says it’s the full moon.”
“That was like…almost two weeks ago.” Seulgi gave me a deadpanned look and I chuckled, shrugging again. I most certainly wasn’t going to tell her that I haven’t slept well last night because I drew Mingi’s eyes and then freaked out over it, and was still pretty much freaking out about it, because I didn’t know what this meant and why it happened. And I really didn’t want to find out as I mindlessly pressed a small but firm dot underneath the lines I drew on the left side of the paper.
“I don’t know then, Seulgi, you know I have periods when I can’t sleep.” Seulgi hummed at my response and then a coy smile made its way onto her lips and I raised my eyebrows, pressing her to go on and tell me what was on her mind.
“What did you think of Noir Zenith?” I didn’t want to talk about this.
“They were fine.” I answered boredly, drawing a small semi-circle underneath the sharp lines, “Nothing too impressive. I’m now convinced you only like them because of Wooyoung.”
“Stop!” Seulgi shushed me with a blush and pointed her fork at me threateningly, “I actually enjoy their music, alright?! I liked the band before I started liking Wooyoung, so stop being mean.”
“Whatever,” I stuck my tongue out at her as I added a bit of shading to the drawing, “I expected their music to be worse, that I’ll admit, however, I only vibed with Seonghwa and Wooyoung—”
“Yeah, you made that very clear, Y/N.” Seulgi cut me off with a sharp tone and it brought a sheepish smile onto my lips as I was about to take another bite of my apple just as I narrowed my eyes at the drawing, staring at it for a second longer. And then it clicked. Fuck. I quickly shut my sketchbook closed as I threw my pencil on the table, groaning loudly. I couldn’t believe it. Why was I doing this? Why was I drawing Mingi’s eyes again?
『I think I found a new addiction
It feels so right』
“What?” Seulgi asked confused as she gazed at my closed sketchbook.
“Nothing.” I muttered lowly, banging my head against the table once before taking another bite of my apple, trying to ignore the way my heart started to race. There must be something about his eyes if my brain decided to burn it into its memory and recall it at any given time my pencil touched a piece of paper as I let loose to draw mindlessly.
“You’ve been acting weird all day long, Y/N.” Seulgi raised an eyebrow and I sighed, slouching down in my seat as suddenly there was a roar of cheers. I wasn’t interested at all to know what was happening behind me; therefore I found no desire in myself to turn around and look. It was probably the football team or some noisy first year’s having a little bit too much fun in the cafeteria while they totally disregard that, perhaps, some people would like to hear their own thoughts while given a longer break from their studies. My lips pulled into a sneer and I almost turned around to find the culprits I could glower at, but Seulgi found her voice again now that she was done with her lunch, “Wooyoung complimented my outfit twice last night, Y/N, twice! I was seriously freaking out!”
“Oh, wow,” I muttered unimpressed, not having it in me to tell her that she’s told me that information three times now, “and yet you kept stressing about it.”
“I couldn’t help myself,” Seulgi pushed a strand of hair behind her ear, “I was so nervous. It was the first time he invited me to their performance—”
“Haven’t you seen them countless of times before last night?” I asked with narrowed eyes and Seulgi rolled her eyes with a tsk.
“But this was different, Y/N, you’re so impossible I don’t even know why I’m telling you all of this—”
“Yeah, me neither.” I gaped at her fakely, making Seulgi roll her eyes, “This is the third time I’m hearing everything, Seulgi.”
“Well, sorry for being excited about my crush finally showing interest in me.” Seulgi’s voice hardened as she snapped and I pouted, knowing that I have upset her. She threw me a glare as she grabbed her phone, acting uninterested as I reached over the table and softly gripped her wrist. I knew she couldn’t resist when I acted cute.
“Sorry, you know I’m cranky when I don’t sleep, don’t get mad.” I coerced her with a sweet voice and she just spared me a glance before going back to her phone. I sighed dramatically and retreated my hand, falling back into my chair and groaning as I closed my eyes briefly. My muscles were sore from sitting almost all day long, and my eyes hurt from too much light and staring at my sketchbook even when it wasn’t necessary. I opened my eyes and allowed them to roam over the cafeteria as I decided to quickly finish the little apple I have left over and took in the students around us. All groups were enjoying their free time quietly, speaking amongst themselves in a moderate tone, not loud enough to disturb anyone, yet there was one fucking table which just wouldn’t shut up, and fed up with it, I whirled around in my chair and searched for them, nose flaring in irritation. However, when my eyes landed on the culprits, my heart fell into my ass and my jaw clenched as I allowed the vicious glare to overtake my features as I sent daggers towards them. There he sat. At the table closest to the entrance, clad in a much more casual outfit compared to last night with sunglasses obscuring his view—who the fuck wears sunglasses inside—as he was surrounded by at least five girls. Mingi was leaning back in his chair, body falling against it awkwardly as his limbs were too long for it, legs spread out wide as he currently had his hands behind his head, smirking up at the blonde girl from the pub. Huh, so she goes to our university, should’ve expected that.
“Disgusting.” I sneered quietly, enticed by the view as my body wallowed in irritation, hatred and disgust, wishing for nothing more than to slam my sketchbook against Mingi’s head and scream the most creative profanities in his face. He was just asking for it with his smug face and shit eating grin, acting like he was a God, above everyone else, making girls swoon for his ass when he wasn’t even all that great.
“What’s—oh.” Seulgi cut herself off once her eyes followed my gaze and she chuckled. I could see her raise an eyebrow from the corner of my eyes as she watched me before looking back at Mingi, leaning back in her chair as she crossed her arms in front of her chest, “You never explained why you hate him so much.”
“Ugh, just look at him!” That was all Seulgi had to say to set me off, “He’s self-centered and conceited! He’s a jerk and he treats everyone else like they are less than him, and oh, my God, don’t even get me started about his stupid smirk which screams, ‘oh, look! I’m better than you ever will be, and by the way, you’re dumb as fuck!’, God, I hate the guy.”
Seulgi’s eyebrows went up to her hairline that’s how high they were raised as I turned around to look at her, having seen enough of Mingi’s stupid side profile as he smirked and laughed at every stupid thing those girls were probably saying to him, “Okay, Miss I hate his pants so much I can’t stop staring at him; that was intense, what the fuck. Poor Mingi, he didn’t even do anything to you and here you are—dragging his ass like he killed your cat or something, Y/N.”
“That would be the last straw—”
“You don’t even have a cat.” Seulgi deadpanned and I sighed exasperated, throwing an irritated smile her way. She was supposed to be on my side, not defending an asshole when she could clearly see how much distaste I had towards him.
“Whatever, I just can’t stand him, alright?” I muttered at last with a huff and Seulgi cocked an eyebrow as her phone pinged, quickly looking down at it. Her mouth instantly stretched into a huge smile and she started bouncing her legs up and down as she slapped the table once very loudly.
“I’m about to die—” She took a deep breath as she squealed quietly, looking at me like she has won the lottery or something, “Wooyoung finally asked me to hang out!”
I smiled at my best friend, happy that things were going well for her, “So, it’s a date then?”
“Not yet.” She smiled as she was texting back, biting her lower lip with a huge smile on her face, “But perhaps soon.”
“Oh, he better ask you out soon,” I muttered just as another roar of squealing disturbed my pace of mind and I have reached my limit for today, that was it, “Or I’ll make him regret being born.”
Seulgi cackled at that as I grabbed my sketchbook and pencil and showed them inside my backpack, “Y/N! That’s too much, don’t you think—Where are you going?”
“Class.” I answered curtly, throwing my flannel shirt around my exposed shoulders as I wore a dark blue off-shoulder long sleeved blouse, paired with black ripped jeans and fishnets underneath.
“We’ve got like ten more minutes until then—”
“Yeah, but if I hear Mingi’s bitches squealing again in the next three seconds I might go ahead and jump out the fucking window.” I deadpanned and Seulgi bit her lower lip as it quivered, threatening to burst out into laughter. It wasn’t funny, and so, I gave her a harmless glare.
“Oh, God, you’re impossible. I can’t believe you’re this cranky.” She said as she finally started laughing.
“This isn’t me being cranky, this is me being irritated by someone’s whole ass existence, anyways, see you!” I called as I took off before Seulgi could say anything else, I knew she’d be following me soon after as we had to walk to the other side of campus to reach the Art’s building.
『Run, baby, run
Run for your life
I'ma tear out your heart
It'll always be mine』
I steeled my expression and pushed my shoulders back as I took off towards the exit, gripping the straps of my backpack tightly. The closer I got to it—which meant I was also getting closer and closer to the table Mingi sat at—the louder those girls voices got. Anyone close enough could hear what they were screaming about—okay, they weren’t screaming, but they were loud—and it made me bite my lower lip as I started tapping my finger against the strap of the backpack, trying to calm my nerves. But Mingi was just sitting there, basking in the attention, grinning and laughing loudly at the very shitty and poor attempts of flirting of the girls, and I really didn’t mean to, but my eyes landed on them and my jaw fell a little bit open when I noticed him signing some stupid looking banner with his face plastered all over it as a black-haired girl was gushing about his looks and deep voice. Where the hell were we? Highschool?! I knew Seulgi was praying right now to all the existing Gods and asking them to let me pass by their table without no disturbances, but that just wasn’t possible as my cheeks flushed in disgust and anger, shooting a sharp glare at the side of Mingi’s face.
“Even your autograph is pretty.” One of the girl’s sighed dreamily, “Can you get any more perfect?”
“Oh, angel, you haven’t even seen everything and you’re already head over heels for me?” Mingi’s voice dropped a few octaves as he blinked up at the girl seductively and I might have as well thrown up in my mouth. I scoffed as I passed behind him, stomping my feet perhaps a little bit too hard as I noticed two girls glance my way.
“Assuming things once again, aren’t you?” My tone was snappy and ice cold as I threw in the comment in passing. I didn’t intend on stopping, but Mingi’s instant reply made me halt.
“Insulting others once again, aren’t you?” I huffed quietly as I bit my lower lip, whirling around. For a second I was taken aback by the unimpressed looks thrown my way by the girls, but I didn’t let it show on my face.
“Only those worthy of getting put in their places, Mingi.” I allowed a cheeky smile slip onto my lips as I stared him down, his eyebrows slightly furrowing. I was surprised to see the dark eyeshadow give more depth at the outer corner of his eyes, the makeup being absent last night. His lips were shiny and you could see the blemishes clearly on his jawline now, his black hair still covering his forehead messily. His grey jumper was oversized and reached mid-thigh over his denim jeans; matching jacket draped around his chair.
“Isn’t it a delight seeing you today as well, Y/N.” Mingi’s tone was mocking as he raised one eyebrow, making me roll my eyes, “Good morning.”
“My morning was good until I heard your puppets and you giggling as if we were in highschool—and it’s noon, Mingi, thought you were smart enough to know lunch time was during noon.”
“What’s your problem?” The blonde snapped and placed a possessive hand on Mingi’s shoulder, which made him cast her a side glance. His lips twitched, and for a second—just a little second—I was able to see the irritation in his eyes at the unwanted touch; it almost made me furrow my eyebrows and throw a questioning glance at Mingi, but I stopped myself. I was certainly misreading his expressions. He loved this, the attention and praises. He was pathetic.
“You and the dude you’re worshiping as if he were a Greek God—” I sighed dramatically, leaning down a little as I made eye contact with Mingi, “Get over yourself.”
It made him chuckle and his nose scrunched up, eyes slightly becoming smaller, but there was no humor in the sound he made, “At least they don’t show up to a performance without knowing the artists and start shitting on them unwarranted, insulting them as if they were superior to them. I say you’ve got something to learn from these girls, Y/N.”
I scoffed and crossed my arms in front of my chest, “Yeah, like what? How to pucker my lips and bat my eyelashes at you to gain your attention? Or throw in cringey flirting and nonconsensual touches?”
The girls seemed shocked as I threw them all a glare before my gaze landed on the embarrassing banner as I felt Mingi’s heated gaze on my face. He didn’t say anything as his jaw clenched, palms balling up into fists. My eyes fell back on him and our gazes locked, both of us annoyed at this point, as we stared each other down, glares molding into one sharp look as we both refused to look away first. If he thought I was going to back down, he was wrong. His sharp eyes were narrow as a fierce look glazed over them, and for a split second, my eyes fell on the mole underneath his right eye. The drawing I was doodling not even half an hour ago flashed in my mind and I clicked my tongue, suddenly irritated with myself and with Mingi for getting to me so easily.
『Oh, there she go
Losing my head』
“Your silence says everything I needed to know—”
“Don’t get too cocky, smarty pants, silence speaks louder at times and you’re down right embarrassing yourself right now.” My jaw hung open at Mingi’s next words, which were harsh and hissed out as his raspy voice reached my ears, and I sneered at him.
“The only embarrassing one here,” I looked around, “are your puppets, bro. And that fucking shit ass banner.”
Before anyone could say anything I whirled around and stormed off, aware that Seulgi had seen the exchange from afar and was up on her feet, basically scurrying around to gather her things and come to the rescue of Mingi. I just knew she’d have his back and I really didn’t have the energy to sit around and listen to her chastise me in front of him and his baboons. However, I did hear the girls throwing insults after me, Mingi remaining an awful lot silent. It’s not like he could’ve said anything. And I knew he wished to say them to my face, to see the rise he got out of me. I scoffed as I stormed out the building, wanting to let out a frustrated cry in the meantime.
『Please don't waste any time
The sirens are turning red
I found a whole another vice』
It had gotten dark outside by the time Seulgi and I headed to our curricular art class, fog slowly settling upon our little town as the lampposts illuminated the dark streets, casting an aery yet comforting feeling. I would have to walk home later tonight, but I found the thought relaxing and much needed after the tumultuous day I have had. I couldn’t stand still all day after the encounter with Mingi and his baboons, I couldn’t help but mull over his words over and over again, so much so, that I got called out in one of the classes by the professor. It was embarrassing, but what was even more embarrassing was that one of the girl’s from the table shared three classes with me and kept sending me unwanted glares, pissing me off to no end. If Seulgi wouldn’t have been by my side the whole day, I probably would’ve confronted the girl and cussed her out, ruining my image more in her eyes, if that was even possible.
I was slouched forward, chin resting on my palm and elbow pressing into my thigh as I listened to Seulgi ramble on about how her hangout with Wooyoung went. Her cheeks had a constant flush on them and I grinned as she sucked in a deep breath as she desperately needed it after talking for a few good minutes without stopping.
“And he bought me coffee too even though I never asked,” She bit her lip, trying to contain herself, “He was waiting for me with it in his hands.”
“That’s sweet of him.” I mumbled and looked behind Seulgi, looking out towards the class. Today not many could make, there was a total of five students sitting around the room, working diligently on their sketches. Today’s theme was the human body, a shape or an outline of your choice. It could be a face, a body, or a shadow like figure. Everyone had free reign of choosing the style as long as it was a human shape.
“I know, and his hands were freezing cold,” Seulgi gushed, “So, I gave him my gloves.”
“The Hello Kitty ones?” I asked with a quiet chuckle, turning the pencil over in my hands. I was itching to get started on our assignment, but Seulgi was on her rant once again and I didn’t want to interrupt her again. I have felt bad all day long for upsetting her in the cafeteria; I shouldn’t ruin her mood just because I’m cranky myself.
“Yes!” Seulgi laughed while covering her mouth, “And he looked so cute wearing them, Y/N! We couldn’t stop giggling about it. Pink might be his color.”
“You should’ve dared him to wear something pink at their next performance.” I added with a chuckle, making Seulgi giggle as her cheeks flushed even a darker shade of red. If she kept up with this, her whole face would turn red and she’d look like a tomato.
“I don’t think that would fit the whole rocker concept they have going on.” She muttered with a chuckle and I just shrugged, glancing at my bare paper. I hoped Seulgi would get the hint that I really wanted to start drawing now, but she opened her mouth again.
“He suggested we take a selfie—” Seulgi let out a dreamy sigh, “I don’t think I have enough self-control to not set it as my lock screen.”
“Wouldn’t that be too fast?” I wondered, raising an eyebrow at her. Seulgi nodded, looking slightly defeated.
“It would, I just hope the day will come when I’ll be able to do so.” Her voice got quieter as she looked down at the ground and I didn’t like the sudden drop of confidence. So, I grabbed her shoulder and gave it a squeeze, smiling at her encouragingly.
“It will come, stop doubting everything and just go with the flow.” I offered her a big smile, “I know Wooyoung is a generally nice guy, but his kindness feels different with you. It’s sweet.”
“Stop.” Seulgi hushed me, lightly slapping my arm, “You’re feeding into my delusions, I don’t want to get hurt if things really don’t end well.”
“Have some faith in him, yeah?” I slapped my hands together as I straightened in my seat, glancing at Seulgi’s usual spot, “Shouldn’t you start drawing, though? We’ve got an hour only today.”
“Shit!” Seulgi exclaimed loudly as if she just remembered where we were and what we were doing, “I totally forgot what I’m supposed to be doing right now, this is embarrassing.”
“Off you go!” I shooed her off with a laugh and Seulgi scrambled to her place, face red as she quickly tied her long hair in a low ponytail, eyebrows furrowing as she opened her sketchbook. Despite Wooyoung being the only thing on her mind, I knew she wouldn’t be drawing him. Seulgi was spontaneous and very creative. She found it easy to draw whatever was on her mind, whether it was human shaped, abstract, or a landscape. She had a natural talent when it came to human figures and she absolutely loved drawing anyone whom she had in mind. Which was the opposite of me. I couldn’t draw just anyone. It took me lots of hours of studying and tracing ones features with imaginary lines, mapping out their faces and bodies in my mind carefully before putting them on paper. I needed a muse when it came to drawing humans, and before dating Yunho, I never even had one. Before dating Yunho, I could barely draw an eye. During our relationship I learned many things about myself, and one of them was that I needed to hyper fixate on something—or someone—if I wanted to place them on a paper. It wasn’t obsession, I wouldn’t call it that, it simply was something I found beautiful and inspiring enough to put on paper. I usually did it mindlessly too, used to always drawing Yunho when it came to this subject, so I didn’t bat an eyelash as I relaxed my muscles and allowed my mind to rest as my hand took over, bravely creating lines on the blank paper.
『I always thought it would be easy (easy)
To get you out my mind (mind)』
However, to my utter shock, it didn’t take long for me to realize that the man in my drawing, even by its simple outlines, wasn’t Yunho. It looked nothing like him. My quiet thoughts started to get louder and louder the longer I allowed my hand to trace new lines, go over the older ones and bolden them. Shadows casted over the sharp eyes as I traced the outline of their tall nose, eyebrows scrunching when it seemed like the man was glaring back at me. I couldn’t help but glare back, repulsed by the nagging name ringing through my mind the second I placed the mole underneath his right eye. Mingi. Song Mingi. I didn’t want to admit it. This wasn’t him. The man in my drawing wasn’t Song Mingi. It looked nothing like him. It was pure coincidence that his nose and eyes and moles were in the same spot as Mingi’s. My hand faltered and grip tightened around the pencil once I got to draw the lips, wondering whether I wanted to finish this sketch today—or any other day at all. Deep down I knew I didn’t, but I also hated leaving my works unfinished and there was something deep inside me telling me to suck it up, to stop being childish. It was just a damn drawing. It meant nothing. It really didn’t. Especially since I couldn’t stand him. His annoying stupid smirk. My jaw clenched when Mingi’s smug face stared back at me, almost as if my brain took a picture of his face during lunch break and decided to taunt me by recalling every single detail as I worked diligently.
『I think I found a new addiction
It feels so right』
I have long finished the drawing, giving up to finishing it thoroughly as I felt my muscles spasm just at the thought of perfecting Mingi’s face in my own sketchbook. Anyone could see this. Hell, the other students in this class could ask me to show them my drawing for some inspiration and then I’d be fucked. There’s no way others didn’t know about Mingi and his band. Perhaps I had been the only one living under a rock this whole time, oblivious to the music department and their endeavors at our university. And if word got out that I started drawing Song Mingi, I’d rather die than face him ever again. That simply just wasn’t possible. I refused to even entertain such thought. I’d rather draw my ex of five years and have others think I still wasn’t over him—I seriously am—and bash me for living in the past than start talking about my—inexistent—crush on Song Mingi. The shuffling of papers and sudden movement of others in the room brought me out of my glaring contest with the fake Mingi on my paper and I turned around when I heard my name being called out.
“Could you check this out for me?” Jake, a second-year student, asked shyly. I nodded with a smile and got off my stool, stretching, before I headed his way. He wasn’t an art major, but he apparently had always enjoyed drawing, so he joined our little club. His skills were pretty good, but he still had a lot to learn. As I stopped by his desk, I was met with the face of a girl. She was smiling brightly and the drawing was really good, the shading lacked, but that wasn’t such a big problem.
“Oh, this one is really good, Jake. You’ve gotten a lot better lately.” I offered him an encouraging smile as I patted his back, “Maybe adding a bit more shading next time will do the trick better, hm?”
“Thanks!” Jake beamed as he started gathering his stuff, making me nod as Krystal, a classmate of Seulgi and I, beckoned me over.
“I suck at human shapes, you know that.” She said with a sharp chuckle, lips pulled into a grimace as she slowly turned her sketch around. Yeah, Krystal was really bad at human shapes but it wasn’t something to get judged for. Drawing humans was very difficult and I couldn’t blame her for struggling with it, when, I, myself struggled most of times. However, this drawing presented itself as her best so far.
“This is amazing, Krystal, what are you talking about?!” I exclaimed as I gaped at the outline of two girls leaning onto each other, hugging around the shoulders. One of them was taller and the other one had longer and lighter hair. It must’ve been her older sister and her in the drawing. Their faces weren’t detailed or defined, but their shapes were very beautiful and precise.
“Good, God, I never struggled this hard in my life before.” She said with a sigh and got off her stool as Jake and Yunjin waved goodbye and left. Seulgi bounced over, curious to see Krystal’s drawing, and squealed when she saw it.
“You have to show this to Professor Yoon!” Seulgi exclaimed, “He’ll pass you in a second straight to next year’s class.”
Her comment got Krystal laughing and I shook my head as I walked away once I noticed Yiren struggled packing her stuff away. She was the youngest in our club and a little clumsy, always bumping into things and dropping paint on the floor whenever we were painting. She thanked me quietly as she scrambled around to pack her things and then rushed away shyly, quietly thanking me as she ran out the door. I stopped for a second and wondered why she always looked so intimidated by me. Seulgi walked up to her desk and started putting her things away as well as I walked back to my place, grabbing my backpack to put my pencils away. Krystal and Wheein greeted us in unison before walking out the door, leaving Seulgi and I alone. She approached me with a huge grin on her face, dangling her drawing carelessly between her fingers. I chuckled as I watched her, raising an eyebrow, “Who did you draw?”
“Oh, Joohyun!” Seulgi grinned and showed me her drawing eagerly, her cousin’s face staring back at me as she was laughing hard. I could hear Joohyun’s cackling laughter echo in my head and I smiled at the drawing, missing the girl. She was a few years older than us and had moved away to a different country in order to pursue her modelling career. Seulgi and Joohyun were like sisters, and being Seulgi’s best friend, I had the pleasure of meeting the phenomenal woman her cousin was.
“This is so gorgeous, Seulgi.” I said with a pout and a sigh, “You made me miss Joohyun now.”
“She’s visiting in two months!” Seulgi exclaimed, the news sweeping excitement into my veins as my eyes widened.
“Really?!”
“Yes!” Seulgi grinned, closing her sketchbook, “I can’t wait for us to hang out, it’s been too long since we’ve seen Joohyun.”
“Indeed.” I sighed and picked up the rubber I have dropped like an hour ago, “I also wish I had your skills when it comes to drawing human shapes.”
“Why? So that you can draw Yunho better?” Seulgi’s cackle wasn’t malicious but there was slight judgement in her eyes as I rolled mine.
“You’re so funny today, have I already told you?” I mocked her and Seulgi huffed, crossing her arms in front of her chest.
“What? Tell me I’m wrong.” But before I could tell her she was wrong, she was speaking again, “I know you drew him again, Y/N.”
“I didn’t!” My response was too fast and defensive and I regretted speaking up the second I saw Seulgi’s eyes flash with interest.
“You didn’t draw Yunho?” She asked shocked, not even bothering to hide it. I sighed lowly, awaiting the questions tumbling off her lips for the next thirty minutes, “Who is it then?”
“No one important.” I muttered, eyes falling on the drawing, making me realize that I had to put it away before Seulgi got the chance of seeing it. I wouldn’t live another day if she got even a glimpse of it, “Let’s go.”
But as I reached for the sketchbook, Seulgi slapped my hand away hard—it started stinging instantly—and ripped my sketchbook off the drafting board. Her eyebrows furrowed for a second as her eyes took in the drawing, and then, a loud gasp left her lips as her eyes shot up, staring at me wide eyed, confusion written all over her face.
『Run, baby, run
Run for your life
Gonna tear out your heart
It'll always be mine』
“This isn’t Yunho—”
“I told you—”
“Bitch, this is Song fucking Mingi?!” Seulgi’s voice raised and I gulped, mentally preparing myself for the screaming and nagging to follow. But Seulgi sounded an awful lot composed despite the various emotions written all over her face, “What is Song Mingi doing in your drawing?”
“That’s not Song Mingi.” Was the best I could do as I scoffed, gripping the sketchbook as I tried to yank it out of her hands, but Seulgi was gripping it firmly.
“Yeah, sure, and I’m fucking blind then—” Seulgi rolled her eyes before giving me a deadpan look, “This is Mingi, Y/N, you’re not bullshitting your way out of this. Now, explain.”
“There’s nothing to explain.” I didn’t mean to snap, but it happened, “It’s not Mingi. Why the hell would I even draw that fucker? It’s just a random face which popped into my head and I drew it mindlessly, alright? Maybe it looks like Mingi, but it’s not him.”
“Yeah, sure, and I’m the fucking Pope in Vatican—”
“Seulgi!” I snapped and tugged on the sketchbook again, finally getting her to release it. She didn’t seem too impressed as I quickly shut the sketchbook and grabbed my backpack, slinging it over my shoulder, “Shut up and let’s just go.”
“The hell am I shutting up, bitch.” Seulgi scoffed as she got her backpack too, “That’s Mingi and you can’t gaslight me with this one. Are you into him—”
“Oh, my God!” I exclaimed with disgust ridden all over my face, “Do you even hear yourself right now?! How could I be into him? I hate his guts!”
“That’s why you fucking drew him—”
“I didn’t draw him!” I finally exclaimed just as we got out the room, Seulgi shutting the door loudly behind us after she turned the lights off.
“You’ve been acting hella weird ever since we’ve been to Outlaw, Y/N, what are you not telling me?” Seulgi leaned against the wall as I locked up the room.
“I am not acting weird and there’s nothing I’m not telling you, so, will you just drop this whole thing?” I snapped, raising my eyebrows at her in irritation. Seulgi bit her lower lip and crossed her arms in front of her chest as she looked like she was contemplating. But one another glance at my face and she knew she wouldn’t get anything out of me, so she just sighed and shook her head as she pushed off the wall.
“Fine, let it be your way,” She muttered, falling in step with me by my side, “At least it’s not Yunho anymore. You’re finally getting over him—”
“Bitch, I’ve been over him for ages.” I threw my best friend a sharp glare and she just chuckled, shaking her head at me. I held back the urge to slap the back of her head hard in hopes that her delusional thoughts would get slapped out of her head with the effort.
“Whatever helps you sleep at night.” She mocked and before I could go off on her again, she faced me and smiled brightly, “Want to get McDonald’s before we head home?”
All thoughts of Mingi and wanting to hold a whole ass speech to Seulgi about him flew out of my mind at the mention of said junk food and I nodded eagerly, linking my arm with Seulgi’s as she started talking about a girl in her history class and how she managed to embarrass herself and her professor at the same time today.

you’re one of my favourite artists and one of the reasons I want to start drawing!!! >.< I’ve started and it’s a bit difficult but fun!!
I was wondering if you had any tips on how to draw face shapes and dynamic poses? I love the way you draw face shapes and the actual expressions!!! (it’s always so hard for me 😭) and your poses are super cute!!!
YAAYY NEW ARTIST🥳!! i’m SO happy to hear this -
and absolutely i’d love to share what i’ve come to learn (so far!) re: face shapes and poses as a hobby artist ^^
just to preface everything, when it comes to giving art advice there’s always a general disclaimer that there’s no right way to do art, in the end you should do what you like to do! sometimes i like to think of art as problem-solving, and there are many ways to tackle specific problems <3
for face shapes and expressions - lately i love to reference and do studies of Ami Thompson and Shiyoon Kim’s character design and expression sheets for Spiderverse. these are INCREDIBLY evocative and useful. you can study these expressions and poses and try to recreate them on different characters, and you’ll notice the difference in eye shapes, face shapes, noses, etc; studying these differences is what will help us avoid same face syndrome. what i generally like to do is find art that i like - comic/manga panels, fan art, anything i want to learn how to draw like - and copy it into my sketchbook for personal practice and study to see what elements i can incorporate into my own drawing.
another tip - any medium is good for drawing, but i highly suggest esp when you’re starting - learn to draw with ink! drawing traditionally and with something unerasable will help with your draftsmanship and line confidence. it’ll be wonky at first but you learn to be deliberate with every stroke. tbh becoming a digital artist has deteriorated my draftsmanship and has made me heavy-handed, and it’s something i’m trying to consciously remedy right now. digital art is highly convenient and best for sharing, but when i do studies i stick to pen and paper :)
as for poses - one v important thing i learned in creating dynamic art is to “push” or exaggerate the poses. what you see in a photo reference - if you try to draw that 1:1 on paper, it doesn’t always translate well—the energy is not always captured, and it usually looks so stiff. what is in 3D has to be translated a different way to 2D. so “push” it to create more energy - exaggerate the movements - even if they’re just standing, you can make it dynamic by being conscious of how they’re standing (where the weight is balanced, push one hip up, make them lean one direction, for example). i doodled some examples here:

^ first one is gojo just standing; now how i would “push” this pose is to show him putting more of his weight on one hip and maybe putting his opposite foot up a bit to suggest some movement (and balance). the third one is just a bit more variation where his body is still putting weight more on one side, his feet are more glued to the ground, but i put his hand out to do his signature victory sign just for a bit of flair. so it’s a lot of figuring out how to convey balance and weight and movement and personality :) start with exaggerating the pose - then you can create more and more dynamic art from there ^^
pushing and exaggerating applies to facial expressions, too! instead of merely drawing someone with a smile, try tilting their head a little sideways (and show how their hair might move as well bc of this), add some blush, raise their shoulders a bit, etc).
and i 100% recommend taking gesture drawing classes for dynamic poses ^^ there are a lot of artists who have draw-with-me tutorials on youtube, and i personally like to use line-of-action.com for timed sessions.
i hope this is helpful in even a little way—good luck on your drawing journey and remember to trust the process bc progress is def not linear as an artist but deliberate practice and studies WILL help you! <3

Heya, I just sort of stumbled across your blog and I’m genuinely so impressed by how good your writing is! I ended up binge reading a bunch of your works lol. I was wondering if I could request something for Eddsworld? Honestly, your last Tord piece has been stuck in my mind so I was thinking of a situation where the reader is either uncomfortable because of some other guy or even something more dangerous like being followed and Tord ends up being involved. I know it’s really cliche but I’m interested in how he would handle it and what he would prioritise first. Obviously, I know you’re gonna be busy for a while so don’t feel pressured to get this done soon or at all if you don’t feel up to it. Hope you have a wonderful day/night ❤️
HIII OMG reading this made me so giddy!! I had free time this weekend and your request got my neurons firing so I HAD to write a piece for this right away!!! Thank you so much for your sweet words, and I hope you enjoy it! Mwah mwah!
Scary Dog Privilege | Tord x Reader
Warnings: Creepy incel guy, heavy misogyny, homophobia if you squint, I cringed writing this guy, Tord makes a threat
Words: ~1.9k
----
The windows were down on Tord's car, letting the breeze in. It whipped your hair around, sometimes blowing a few strands into your face. It only made you giggle. A huff to your right drew your attention to the driver's side. Tord had one hand on the wheel, his other arm rested on the windowsill. His vape was in his hand.
"What are you laughing about over there?"
He blew a cloud out of the window before answering you.
"You're being silly. It's cute."
You settled back in your seat as you came to a stop at a red light. Without the rumble of the engine, the music playing from the speaker floated out into the town around you. You glanced at the display screen on the radio. fuK u lol by CORPSE. Your head bobbed as you took in the sights of the town. There was an older couple in the lane beside you. The woman seemed to be eyeing you suspiciously. It didn't bother you, though. You looked down, smoothing down the fabric of your outfit. White skirt, black tights, strawberry cardigan, and pink converse. Heart shaped earrings danged from your ears, and a matching heart shaped purse was at your feet. You felt cute and happy. Tord had, at least, put on a different outfit for your date, rather than wearing his usual red hoodie combo. It was still red themed, but you didn't expect any less. If your boys were anything, they were consistent.
You and Tord had always been opposites in most things. He was all doom and gloom, ice cold glares, vapes and cigarettes, black clothes and heavy rock music. He was blunt, he seemed apathetic, and often was rude. You were energetic and sweet. You loved bright colors and cutesy things. Cake and frappes with lots of whipped cream. You loved to share compliments with others, had a big heart, and cared deeply for others. That's not to say that you and Tord were incompatible - your relationship had been going strong for a couple of years now. Your opposite traits seemed to balance each other out. When you got too overwhelmed or worked up, he was there to douse you with a healthy round of realism, grounding you back to the present and calming you down. You were there when he started to feel like he wasn't himself, when he started to slip back into the person he was forced to be in the cold winters of Norway, you reminded him of the warmth of home.
And, over time, you developed similarities. Before you met him, you had dipped your toes into anime, but he let you watch them with him and soon it became a tradition of yours to binge-watch shows together. Tord had stopped drawing since high school, but watching you mindlessly doodle on blank paper while he tinkered away at his work desk reminded him of the joy it had brought him as a teen - so he started again. Plus, he had a brand new muse this time. Or if there was things that one of you enjoyed doing that wasn't quite the other's thing, that was okay too. Tord would sit at the kitchen table while you baked, scrolling away on his phone and occasionally showing you Tik Toks that you'd like. You would sit on his lap while he played PC games, either playing calmer games on your Switch or watching his gameplay until you fell asleep.
It looked strange to others, but for you and Tord, it worked.
You zoned back in as the car pulled into a parking space. Tord turned to you as he parked.
"Where'd you go, hm?"
"Nowhere. Just thinking of you."
Tord gave you a scrutinizing look, attempting to see if you were lying to him or not. (He always said you had a knack for downplaying your feelings. You insisted you had no idea what he was talking about.) Seemingly satisfied with what he found, he hummed and shut off the engine. You climbed out of the car, stretching out your legs.
The manga store that you and Tord liked to frequent was only a 20 minute ride into town from your neighborhood. It wasn't a little hole-in-the-wall, five sets of aisles in a tiny room type of place. This store was actually fairly popular, seeing an average flow of customers throughout the day. It helped that the owners had implemented a café area, where you could order anime character themed drinks.
The girl working the café counter waved at the two of you as you walked in. You smiled and waved as you walked over. She was familiar with you, since she worked on a lot of the days that you came in. You and her got along really well.
"Hi, Ruby! You dyed your hair a new color! The lavender looks really good on you."
"Thank you! I did love the red, but it was starting to get a little boring for me. Thought I'd spice it up."
She set down the equipment she was cleaning and walked over to the register.
"You guys gonna have your usual or do you wanna try something new?"
Tord was likely going to just have his usual drink, but you decided to give a new drink a chance. You looked up at Tord.
"I wanna try the Squirtle Sour Candy Boba."
He nodded, then ushered you off to the aisles. That's how things usually went during your outings here. He'd order your drinks while you went wandering off into the aisles, and he'd find you after the drinks were ready. It had taken a bit of argument between the two of you for you to give up trying to pay for your own drinks - he was just as stubborn as you were sometimes. You came to a compromise, though, when he let you buy your own manga and merch.
As usual, your first pit stop was to the romance manga. There weren't too many other customers - an older alt couple looking at the Jojo manga, a teenage boy at the BL section, and a small group of teenage girls giggling softly in the isekai aisle. You hummed softly as you looked over the covers, seeing if anything new caught your eye. You stopped once you reached the section you were looking for. Komi Can't Communicate.
You crouched down so you were level with the more recent volumes. Most of the time, you bought three volumes at a time. You huffed softly when you realized that this time, they were missing one of the ones you needed. Volumes 12, 13, and 15 were there - but no volume 14. With an exasperated sigh, you reached out and picked up volume 12, only to nearly drop it when a voice startled you.
"You know, there are more tasteful series that you'd probably enjoy more than that one."
You looked to your right. Someone had walked into the aisle with you when you weren't paying attention. It was a man, looking to be in around his 30s or so. You could feel yourself fight back a physical reaction to his appearance, and not in a good way. He had on what you could recognize as a Deadpool shirt on underneath a black zip-up hoodie that looked like it hadn't been washed in far too long. The ensemble was topped off perfectly with a leather necklace cord and a metal pendant that you would've guessed was a Naruto symbol of some kind (admittedly, you had never watched Naruto, and Tord mentioned that it wasn't really worth it in his opinion.)
Alarm bells were going off in your head at the sight of him.
"Oh. Is that so?"
As you stood up straight, you gave him a smile that you hoped wasn't too obviously forced. If he noticed, he didn't care.
"Since you're here by yourself, clearly you're a female of sense. You should start off with Dragon Ball. It is the very zenith of anime culture, and anyone who hasn't experienced it doesn't deserve to call themselves an anime fan."
Your alarm bells got louder.
"Actually, um, I know what Dragon Ball is. I've watched it since I was little - my older sibling showed it to me."
You hated the way an excited glint flashed across the man's eyes. He stepped a little closer to you.
"It seems I was right about you. You do have taste. It's not every day I meet a female who is familiar with real anime. Usually its only females who have been brainwashed by social media to think that they're bisexual, who come in here to read trash like Haikyu."
He stepped closer again. You tried to subtly shift backwards.
"Shows like that shouldn't even be categorized as anime. Its all woke propaganda that makes females change their dating standards for submissive men. But I can tell that you're different. You-"
"There you are."
Something solid and warm pressed against your back. You felt yourself immediately relax in Tord's presence. Turning to him, you gratefully took your drink from his hand.
His eyes weren't on you.
Tord was staring down the man in front of you, eyes the color of cold steel. He was easily taller than the other man, and definitely stronger. The man seemed to cower slightly.
"I was, uh, just talking to the lovely girl here-"
Tord cut him off by saying your name. Only when you tilted your head back to him did he finally glance at you.
"Get your other two volumes."
He didn't need to tell you twice. Ignoring the now blubbering man, who was once again the focus of Tord's piercing gaze, you dipped down and grabbed volumes 13 and 15. You could look for 14 some other time.
"Go to the plushie aisle. I'll meet you there."
You only spared one last glance at the man before slipping past Tord, heading around to the aisle filled with plushies and other merch. You couldn't see or hear Tord and the man, and you weren't sure you wanted to.
Standing in front of the bin of plushies, you slid your phone out of your purse and pulled up your private messages with Edd. You typed out a quick message to him.
'Tord might beat a guy to death.'
Edd, who was working on some commissions today, replied fast.
'Nothing new. What was it this time?'
'Creepy guy wouldn't leave me alone. Gave off incel vibes.'
'Yikes. I'm on Tord's side. Hope he kicks the guy's ass.'
Before you could continue the chat, you felt arms wrap around your waist. Tord rested his chin against your shoulder.
"You shouldn't tattle on me to Edd."
"Edd doesn't care, as long as you don't get yourself hurt. What did you do to the dude?"
Tord huffed. He was grumpy.
"Told him that if he was ever a creep to you again, I'd saw his balls off with a rusty scalpel and shove them down his throat. It was effective. He ran away, like a little bitch."
Despite it all, you couldn't help but giggle. You turned, and pressed a soft kiss to his cheek.
"My hero. Let's go look at the Jujutsu Kaisen section."

Liv Morgan x Fem!Reader where liv draws on the readers hand before a big match?
Pressure || Liv Morgan x Reader
Summary: Liv is anxious for her championship match against Ronda Rousey. You find a good way to calm her down.
Liv had a big championship match coming up against none other than Ronda Rousey. The nerves were starting to get the better of her, and she couldn't help but fidget as she paced around backstage. She knew she needed to calm down, but the anxiety was overwhelming.
You watched her from the corner, your heart aching for your girlfriend. She was so talented, but the pressure of the match was taking its toll.
Walking up to her, you took her trembling hand gently. "Hey, babe, it's going to be okay. You've got this," you assured her.
Liv looked at you, her eyes filled with uncertainty. "I know I can wrestle, but it's Ronda, and I've never been in a title match this big before."
You knew that sometimes Liv needed something to focus on to calm her nerves. So, you extended your palm. "Come here. How about you draw on my hand? It might help take your mind off things."
Liv blinked, surprised by the suggestion. But seeing the caring look in your eyes, she took your hand and grabbed a marker nearby. She started drawing simple patterns, her mind slowly letting go of the anxiety and settling into the rhythm of her own art.
As the doodles took shape on your hand, Liv's breathing became steadier, her body less tense. She concentrated on the lines and shapes, letting her anxiety slip away.
You watched her, a gentle smile forming on your lips. You knew that the simple act of doodling could sometimes work wonders to calm her nerves. And as Liv's sketches continued to evolve, you could see the transformation happening before your eyes.
When she finished, Liv looked up at you, her eyes softer, more determined. "Thank you," she whispered, her voice full of gratitude.
You squeezed her hand gently. "Anytime, baby. You're going to do great out there."
And with your encouragement and the therapeutic power of doodles, Liv found her center and headed out to face Ronda Rousey with newfound confidence and determination.

well, to indulge myself i'm writing this post to ramble and share a bit of my Gahan barbarian!au. it's going to be a bit of a long post i think, we'll see.
i saw noel's post about their gladiator!yohan & prince!gaon (check it here!) and it makes me miss writing the arranged marriage barbarian!au i have, it only has what.. 3 or 4 chapters I think. you can read it here.
i've always been fascinated by the visuals of medieval, historical, period era. even post apocalyptic future settings like Horizon Zero games franchise.
i think i started au bcs i've played too much Assassin's Creed Valhalla— i haven't finished it yet, too preoccupied with Monster Hunter World— but i have sketched my female Eivor several times in my sketchbook. this was when i'm curious and interested enough to draw human but haven't fully grasped the gesture, anatomy, shapes and all. i usually draw what i take interest on and it helps me tremendously, to keep on learning and push through my frustrations.
and of course.. my Gahan brainrot picked it up. hence the barbarian!au for TDJ born
i have sketches of Gahan in this au, i think i've shared them here too but i'll re-share here. it doesn't catch many eyes, i admit it's a bit of a bummer but I like the idea anyway. I used to imagined them before I went to sleep, now it's idol/celeb!gaon x mysterious husband!yohan that's occupying my mind. but anyways! here are the sketches.

1st sketch is me trying to see his body proportion in viking/barbarian attire. the upper left sketch was me wanting to see modern Yohan stripping off his clothes ig haha.. anyways, between Gaon/Jinyoung and Yohan/Jisung, it's VERY difficult to nail down his face. less lines doesn't resembles him at all and add some more lines he looks too realistic to my simplified version of Gaon/Jinyoung. it was hard trying to find the balance for these characters to be in the same picture and look like they belong in the same style. i want to do Yohan/Jisung's pretty face justice but i still struggled in this sketches. i think this was 2021? 2022?
2nd sketch— his long protruding neck lmao i haven't fully grasped how a person can pose naturally but it came out as if he has turtle neck syndrome going on. well done Yohan! you are a turtle apparently according to my hand. all jokes aside, this was me attempting to paint his face bcs i never really attempted to paint gahan. i doodled and sketched more than i paint/rendering and i'm on my way to learn more of rendering daily if possible, alongside with my daily sketches. you can also see i've tried to give some color to his attire and some medallion or such. do you see a braid there? i will get there, the braid is something significant in this story ;)
3rd sketch is basically me planning out his character design as a barbarian/viking chief. you can see bits of references cuts here and there, took me quite some time bcs i just started to really try my hands on concept character design properly— i love cloaks and capes and vikings has exactly just that, and the winter times are especially my favorite type of attire on them so i thought why not give Yohan polar bear fur as his official formal attire while still flaunting his wonderful body to the world be it summer or winter lmao. here's where you know it's fantasy. i'm sure people back then drink ales and what not to keep their body warm so they can go bare-chested in winter even but i'm sure the day after that they will regret it. but i make Yohan and his clan to have special abilities for living in cold places. doesn't mean i don't make them wear winter attire but this is only bcs i want him to be bare-chested xD the one I post here was before i dabble on the sketch a bit more. hopefully one day i can share it again with more updates for this au.
now.. onto Gaon's sketches.

he's a Prince in this story. his parents, the King and the Queen, arranged a marriage for him for political reasons. but they have special reasons as to why they pick Yohan, aside from political purposes, to be their son's betrothed and gave him away to Yohan's barbarian clan.
1st sketch (ignore the upper left, that's Jinyoung from his other drama). i want to see him in medium and long hair length. there's a purpose to this. he has his canon Gaon hairstyle when he was the Prince in the palace. but with time and some adjustments living with Yohan and his barbarian clan rubs off on him. perhaps it's due to that, or he's grown tired to cut it off again and again (he has no one to groom him properly now unlike in the palace), practical reason is to maintain heat around his neck while in winter, or it's his idea of adapting and blending in with the enemy. you can't blame him for being wary. he's whisked away from his comfort place and home and married off to a fearsome and famous barbarian on the land at that time, almost willingly got raped by Yohan on 1st chapter (yes, you read that right). other reasons why he grows his hair, as i mentioned the culture rubs off on him, is something to do with the hair braiding too. and personal reason is that i want to see pretty Gaon in long hair lol
2nd sketch on the left was him on early days on Yohan's fur beddings. the right was him perhaps laughing out loud by some surprising and amusing thing Yohan said after living with him for some months, you can see the different hair length there. gosh he looks unalive in here lol idk why.. my sketches were still rigid here
3rd sketch is them after establishing a genuine intimate relationship and Yohan has to be away to fend off some unexpected visitors. unfortunately it cost Yohan some of his men's lives. but he made it back to his clan and his betrothed. i make it as if Gaon was anxious waiting for him and one of the barbarian shouted for Yohan's arrival and he ran immediately. lunged at Yohan perhaps, the barbarian Chief managed to catch him but didn't quite have the strength to carry them both upright as the weariness sinks into him post battle & adrenaline wearing off of him. he's home now, in Gaon's arms.
now.. the hair braiding.
barbarians/viking has long hair and braids on their hair. styled cascading down or up into a pony tail or a mohawk and such. idk if this is historically correct but i'm winging most of this anyway but the idea of braids in this story is that it's significant to lovers. it's a mark between special intimate relationship (like lovers, spouses, soulmates). one can have a braid or braid their lover's hair should they wish to, it's very intimate and special for them. jeweleries might have certain status symbol for them and their ranks but I also prefer these barbarians have something simple to symbolize their intimacy. something that can get overlooked but enough for their significant other to know (and some people) what it means.
I like the idea of Yohan having accessories for his attire but his hair is clean from braids. clearly it's saying something if you've read this far and seeing my sketches for their different stages of relationship. over the years of them finally developing feelings and genuinely established a relationship, despite already being married an Gaon almost got raped by Yohan, they are lovers.
yet Yohan never really initiates anything about him wanting to have braid(s) or braiding Gaon's hair. he might have explained about what braids are to Gaon when the bambi was curious or off-handedly commented something about it. Gaon really finds out the real meaning from Yohan's ppl and he wonders why Yohan never asks or wants braids from him. then he realizes Yohan has always been respectful to him, even years after that night he almost raped him. always keeping healthy distance, outside of their sex and other intimate physical affections, he usually waits until Gaon ask first regarding intimate things. not that he never initiates things, he figures something as serius and committed as this is something Gaon wants to have an option to bail out from. they were arranged to have marriage for political reasons after all, Gaon has the freedom to not have feelings for him as long as he stays within the wedding pact rules Yohan make with the King & the Queen ( for Gaon's sake too). He never expects to have feelings for the Prince and he always keeps the option of Gaon falling out of love of him one day. it is only fair, he thinks.
but then Gaon asks him if he wants Gaon to braid his hair. the Prince never ceases to make him falter. it still shocks and amuses him, to have someone have this much effect on him. even with nervousness and blushing state Gaon is in now after uttering those words.. Yohan wonders what he has done to have this kind of luxury to have someone this precious in his arms.
and if his people noticed a single braid just near the back of his neck when wind swept his hair or if he pulls his hair into a ponytail on hot summer days? they will all grin smugly.. Yohan likes to keep it a bit hidden from view mainly bcs it's practical and he doesn't want ppl to accidentally graze it off when he's having friendly wrestle matches or axe practices. or even having people cut it off when he's at war. he doesn't hide it per se, it's visible when it's visible. Gaon smiles sweetly and adoringly when he finds this out bcs to him, it feels as if Yohan is unconsciously protecting it. protecting their relationship, protecting Gaon.
and if Gaon walks out of Yohan's tent, that days when he asks if he can braid Yohan's hair, with a braid or several on his hair? visible to everyone? the people cheer and roar in celebration. they throw a huge feast and toast to their relationship, congratulating the power couple. wishing the gods to give these two their blessings and to protect them. they're finally able to see their Chief have a partner that is equal to him. it's a memorable day
but if you think this story doesn't come with heavy angst, tears, pain and betrayal.. well think again ;))
i will stop here. thankyou for reading! i hope i can pick up this au again in my drawings & writings

【KHR AU】 XanLena Chibi Commission by Hika ❤️💜🔥🪷
XanLena (Xanxus/Selena) Chibi Icon Commission by Hika (@/onigiwi2namayo)
Hika's Twitter: (X)
Hika's VGen: (X)
In accordance with Hika's Terms of Service (TOS), editing, using, or reposting these arts, in any way, is prohibited without explicit permission from Hika, and me, the commissioner.
Intro
I commissioned Hika to draw my beloved XanLena ❤️💜🔥🪷
Selena is my beloved KHR OC and wife 💜🪷
Her name is Nguyễn Selena, and her Vietnamese name is Nguyễn Nguyệt Vân Liên. Her Viet name, Liên, means "lotus" in Sino-Viet 🪷
She is a Viet NB assassin with a calm and aloof personality, who's reserved and mainly keeps to herself, but cheerful around people she's close to. Her design is NB flag colours 💜🖤🤍💛
She has an interest in gardening (collecting flowers, plants, learning about different types of poisons), and fashion (collecting clothes, including traditional clothes) 💐👗
Xanxus/Selena matching cheebs ❤️💜 The little Xanxus and Selena... I'm SOOOO happy!!!
My friend Snow and I used Hika's XanLena chibi icons as matching PFPs on Discord for a bit 🥰 They're just that cute 💘
Rambles
WAHHHH THE XANLENA CHIBI ICONS ❤️💜🫶 OH MY GOD THEY'RE SO CUTEEE MY BABIES!!! 🥺💗
THEY'RE SO CUTE IN HIKA'S STYLE… REALLY ADORABLE OMG I LOVE THEIR EXPRESSIONS 🥰💞💘🫶
Selena's smiley :D and Xanxus' grumpy pouty >:|
The round lines and shapes... OMGGG ✨ I love the colours too!
I love how Hika drew Selena's eyelashes and underlashes with the dots...
I asked Hika to draw TYL Xanxus' design since I felt like his TYL (Ten Years Later) design would be easier to draw.
Hika originally chose a dark blue BG colour for the both of them, but changed it to yellow and red respectively to make them stand out more!
The blue ones were nice, but omg the final versions Hika went with, do reflect their actual colours better. These fit them better! Matching eye colors (plus it makes their hair stand out from the BG more)
Since Selena and Xanxus are toned with blue/purple in Hika's colours, the new BGs have more visual contrast!
Hika was very accommodating with minor colour edits and revisions as well! 🙏
I wanna commission Hika to draw JuAli and IdaTatsu with my headcanon designs of them in the future 🥰💘✨
My Message
This was the message I left for Hika!
The finished commission arts are wonderful! Selena and Xanxus look so cute in your art style ❤️💜🥺 Really adorable~ I'm very happy with how it turned out!
I love their expressions 🥰🫶 The thick round lines and shapes in your chibi style are great. I love how you draw dot eyelashes in your chibi style!
The colours are amazing! The orange~ish red and blue tones you chose for Xanxus has such nice visual contrast!
I love how the background colours you chose match their eye colours too~ It really brings out their designs' overall colour schemes and hair ❤️💛
Thank you for being very quick and accommodating with colour revisions as well! I look forward to commissioning you again sometime in the future! 🙏 👍
Read more under the cut if you're curious!

I feel like the KHR ani style goes for a much more generic art style, compared to Amano's unique art style.
For Xanxus' late manga design (Rainbow arc Xanxus), Amano improves the shape of his hair and makes it more wavy and easier to draw.
Amano has an amazing art style, and really detailed lineart and inking. She's one of the biggest inspirations for me. Her style was honestly very inspirational for me...
I started drawing everyday as a kid (at 11) BECAUSE of KHR, so KHR is very important and personal to me. I first watched KHR and read the manga at 11.
Amano's style is honestly defining to my style - It shows in the way I draw faces and eyes.
I'm not big on the KHR ani's art style, but I do appreciate what it gave us with the chibi interviews, character songs, etc. It's also cuz of the KHR ani that we (somehow) get endless KHR merch.
I prefer the manga designs, but I prefer the ani's colours for the charas because the KHR ani generally gave the KHR cast more skintone variety (when everyone was pasty in the original manga)
The KHR ani did such a great job by giving the KHR charas more skintone variety... Even pale charas in the KHR ani have different skin tones from each other.
Original vs. My Edit
I headcanon Xanxus to have tanner/warmer skin.
Xanxus with darker skin (olive skin in the KHR ani, and either olive or tan skin in certain KHR ani merch arts), literally just looks better from a character design perspective, imo. That's just facts 📠
His design has much better colour contrast with the ani colours. Like the black and red colours in his design contrast better with darker skin. Also against his blood/wine red eyes. It has more colour harmony and cohesiveness in terms of the colours
Xanxus with pale skin has less cohesiveness in terms of the colours
Xanxus, Yamamoto, and Ryouhei's designs just look so much more boring, pale, imo.
For KHR, I go manga design + ani colours + my own take on the ani colours.
Since I have a tendency to saturate colours with my own arts.
As a personal HC, I think Xanxus has a very mixed ethnicity.
My Italian American friend Feuri said Southern Italy and namely Sicily has a more mixed population.
The ani colours provide a good base for me to work off of for me to improve the colours :3
I do colour edits for fun. I like playing around with colours (editing official arts to see how the colours work together) to help guide my arts. I either do colour edits first or just immediately start picking colours for my arts
...
I usually hand artists a Drive folder filled with XanLena's art refs (including my own doodles) and write some notes on their design details since this makes things easier for the artists I'm commissioning.
Selena is Vietnamese/SEAsian with light tanned skin. She has black hair with a long ponytail that goes down to around the same length as her long front hair strands, and wears a white blouse with frills and a black seam with white buttons. She wears a black pleated skirt with a white line near the ends, and black thigh highs with horizontal white diamonds, and black doll-like shoes.
Since Xanxus wears a brown fluffy accessory, red feathers (that may be dyed red -> orange -> yellow), green strings with red beads, I don't mind if the artists I comm simplify these details.
So, whenever I commission artists, I ask for them to draw my HC versions! I'm very glad that all the artists I've commissioned have been very accommodating! 🙏💖
The XanLena chibis Hika made are being used for Hika's Chibi Icon samples 🥺 Wahhhh
...
The modern remakes of old 90s - 2000s animes have such boring and bland dull colours to me.
I seriously fear that if they ever do a KHR remake or reboot, that they're gonna take away the OG KHR ani's better colours and make everyone look pasty pale (just like in the manga) just for "manga authenticity" and "loyalty to the source material" even though everyone looks so much more boring pasty pale!!! 🧍

"I'm worried about fucking things up between us. He's...words. Words," Tav muttered, making absent come-hither motions as if trying to summon the right ones. "Delicate's wrong. Maybe fragile? Fragile like a smokepowder bomb. But that's wrong too. Wounded. But that's not enough. It's like he's walking around with a bunch of scabbed over stab wounds. But he's had them forever and he's so used to them he can walk around, and backstab people, and laugh. But they're still there and they're fucking stab wounds and I can tell when they're being jostled."
"Do you know how he got them?" Halsin asked.
"Parts of it," Tav said. "I am making plans to commit murder when we get back to Baldur's Gate."
Her eyes flicked up to Halsin's face to make sure there was no judgement there. There wasn't.
"I have lists," she continued. "Of possible tactics. Notes. Diagrams. Some doodles." Full text below. Full text on Ao3.
Halsin walked into the woods until the sounds of the revel had faded behind the sounds of leaves. Then he settled comfortably, leaning back against a birch tree, and just looked out.
The colors of the forest were muted in darkness, but it was alive with shapes and sounds. The protecting spread of branches above, and the stars peeking down between them. Cricket chirping and owls with opinions. The world sounded green and alive, and that was very wonderful. Just being present here was like a blessing after so long in a dungeon.
It was hard to say how long he'd been sitting, almost slipping into reverie, when he noticed a pattern in the movement of the animals around him. There were a lot of them heading east. A fox passed him. A racoon. Another fox. A pair of hedgehogs complaining to each other about how two-leggers were always making such a fuss of noise about nothing.
The party he'd left was southward, so this would be something else bothering them. Investigating such disturbances was so much a habit for him that he barely thought before standing and walking quietly west.
He heard the hard crunch of boots crushing leaves--someone moving rapidly and with no thought to noise. He approached the sound and found Tav. No longer at the party, she was pacing back and forth between two trees, muttering to herself. Occasionally she stopped and said 'Fuck!' very quietly but very sincerely. Then she resumed pacing.
Halsin waited, but she didn’t notice him. He took another step and intentionally found a branch to break underfoot. Tav started and her eyes snapped towards him.
"Hi," she said, eyes wide. "I'm sorry. Was this...were you using these woods? I can move."
Halsin put up his hands. "There's green enough for everyone. I just happened by. Is something troubling you?"
"I. Uh." She raked her fingers through her hair once. Twice. "I'm in trouble."
"I see.” Halsin had a few guesses about the kind of trouble that drove one to pace and mutter in the night. ”Do you want to speak of it?"
"I. Maybe. That might be..."
She hesitated. She started pacing again. Got three steps and stopped. She was worrying the base of one horn with her nails. Finally she seemed to come to a decision and turned to actually look at Halsin.
"If you had to pick, out of all of my companions. With whom do you think it would be the worst idea to get..." She made a mixing tangling motion with her fingers, and eventually supplemented the gesture with the words: "...emotionally involved?"
"I feel I would need to know them better to answer confidently," Halsin said.
"That is a thoughtful, charitable sort of a thing to say," Tav allowed. "But I bet you don't actually need that. I'll give you a hint. It's NOT the woman who could set me on fire with a hug."
Halsin took a moment to consider, but based on superficial observation the answer did seem obvious.
"Astarion?" he guessed.
Tav clapped her hands together in a pantomime of celebration and then pointed her fingertips at him. "You're good at this game. Your retroactive prize is being saved from goblins."
Halsin smiled slightly. "I'm glad I guessed right."
"Yeah, me too." Tav sighed. She was rubbing her hands together and staring off to one side. "We were flirting. It was a game. About saying stupid, over the top things that we both knew we didn't mean. And he had all these great-awful pickup lines and we were getting more and more dramatic. And then. And then he looked at me and he said 'I love you.'"
Her hands were in her hair again, raking over her horns. "And he did NOT mean it. But my heart did that little thump-thump-leap thing LIKE he meant it."
She stared hard into the dark woods, hands tangled in her increasingly wild hair.
"And that is a PROBLEM," she whispered.
"Is it?" Halsin asked.
"Yes." She snapped, eyes focusing back on Halsin. "Yes, that is a problem. Because the things I have to offer are effective group management techniques and limericks. And if I lose my head over the most mother-would-not-approve albino bad boy who is part of the team I have to handle I will stop being an effective group manager. Then all I have to offer is limericks. And they ARE magical limericks. But they still aren't going to save the realm from the Absolute. Which is apparently what we need to do."
Then she had to stop because she had not paused to breathe for that entire paragraph. Her hands were moving again, nails raking over her horns to the point where Halsin was concerned she might hurt herself.
So he reached out to take her by the hand and shoulder and suggested with gentle pressure that she might sit down. They ended up cross-legged in the grass. A much more stable and grounded position. Tav exhaled slowly, and looked up at him.
"Hi," she said. "Sorry."
"There is nothing to be sorry for," he told her. "It seems you are taking a great deal of responsibility on to yourself."
"I've read a lot of epic legends, Halsin." There was something haunted in her expression. "I'm really starting to think we're in one. I think the things we do here are going to have some far reaching consequences."
"I see," he said. And he supposed a bard would know. "Very well then. Grave as they may be, let's set aside your responsibilities for a moment."
She seemed very gesture-prone, so he decided to illuminate this advice with motion. He moved his hands, as if gathering his responsibilities up into a bundle. He carefully set them down to his left.
Tav seemed wary to the point of intimidated by the prospect of setting her responsibilities aside, even metaphorically. But after a moment she imitated him, and she did so with all the buy-in of someone whose arcane magic was partially based on improv. It took her quite some effort to get all her obligations wrapped up and when she shifted them to the side it was with a little huff of effort. Halsin couldn't help but smile.
"How do you feel?" he asked when she was done.
"Scared," she said. She was fretting her fingernails in the same way she'd been fretting her horns before.
Halsin rumbled in an understanding way, but didn't say anything.
"I like him," Tav continued after a moment. "A lot. He's fun. He's sharp and interesting. And talking to him is like playing. And he's mean, but that's fun too. And he's VERY pretty."
She dropped her head to the side, as if she needed a moment to recover from just how pretty he was. Then she rubbed at her eyebrow.
"And sometimes...he's sad. And then I wish I were a wizard so I could just incinerate everything that makes him sad."
Halsin nodded. "I believe there are scrolls for that."
Tav's eyebrows shot up and she looked at Halsin sharply. "Did you just...are you enabling me? To do an arson?"
"To protect people you care for?" Halsin asked. "Most certainly."
The surprise melted away and she smiled slantwise at him. "I suppose I should have expected that after seeing you maul half the goblin camp."
He nodded, and it was a pleasant moment of mutual understanding. He let it lapse into silence so that she would start to fill that silence again with her fretful thoughts. She did.
Notes. Diagrams. Some doodles."
"Could your plans use a bear?" He asked mildly.
Tav laughed, and it was loud and startled and genuine. "Yes. Fantastic. Always. I'll incorporate you into my ideas and daydreams."
The laughter did her good. When it finished the thread of tension loosened and her shoulders had relaxed a notch.
"I probably don't need to worry about hurting him with this," she said a little ruefully. "He's not serious. This is a game for him? Or a ploy? I'm not sure. Whichever. I'm the only one throwing her heart around like an idiot."
Halsin, who had been at camp long enough to observe some of the dynamics between the companions, decided not to comment on some of the assumptions she was making. He just made a thoughtful noise.
"So I guess that just leaves me scared about, you know." She flicked her fingers over her sleeve, removing a bit of dirt with affected casualness. "Getting hurt myself."
"It can be a frightening thing. To be the more loving one," said Halsin. "But it doesn't need to be a bad thing."
Tav hummed in a prompting, curious way. Halsin considered what he was about to say, and decided this was a reasonable time of have an opinion.
"We give each other what we can in the time we have," he said. "You have a gift. You have love for another person. A man who, from what you've said, could very much do with being loved."
Tav hummed a little more softly.
"That's nice," she said. "That's a bit of poetry."
"Pardon me. I know it's not my profession."
"Naw." Tav shook her head. "Anyone can be a bard. Just don't be surprised if I steal your words for lyrics."
Halsin opened a hand and offered his palm. "They are freely given."
"Boring," Tav complained with a smile. "I wanted to steal them."
"Well then." Halsin closed his hand. "I take back my permission."
"Good. Thank you." The smile had wedged itself firmly in the side of her face and remained even as she sighed. "I guess I'm already fucked. It's not like you can fall out of love. Not while we're spending every day together."
She covered her face with her hands and said much more quietly: "And I do not have the willpower to say no to the sex."
Halsin nodded and made a noise of deep understanding. Eventually, Tav peeked up from her hands.
"You're really good at listening," she told him.
"It is an important part of being an archdruid."
"Thank you."
"Please let me know if you ever need to be listened to again."

I don't know if you've ever been asked this question, but I was wondering:
Did you learn to draw somewhere, or were you self-taught? Maybe you have some tips or hints for beginners? What was your favourite thing about drawing?
Sorry if this ask is too personal, but I really like your drawing style and wanted to ask some advice :D Have a good day! 🌸
it's a mix of both, really! i grew up loving art from the very beginning, like. im talking about making teletubbies fanarts and asking my dad to make me learn to draw characters from w.i.t.c.h. and tomb raider fandsndfs, according to my parents i had a pencil in my hands before i even started talking -- and that's what led me to actually learn to draw "properly", first in a art-centered high school (that. did less than good to me tbf but it was a matter of 90% of the art-related teachers being garbage) and the comics academy in torino where i think i started to truly "understand" what i wanted from my art style
if i may give some advices other than the good ol' "keep practicing and try to at least doodle something once a day", i could go with:
don't compare yourself to other artists negatively, especially those younger than you. it's probably the hardest part, but you need to "force yourself" to be positive. if you find yourself thinking "this 14 years old draws better eyes than me", go with "i love how they draw eyes, let's see if i can learn from it"
copy copy copy copyyyyy!!!!! copy from references, copy from photos, copy from comics, copy from movies. of course don't plagiarize people and then present that stuff as your own, but try to make a pose yours and learn to take pictures of your own hands, feet, face or ask people to pose if you can't find the right position
your art will look like shit to you, a LOT of times, but know that at one point you're going to quit. if you don't like what you're drawing, either quit there or restart, don't try to "fix" it because you'll just end up noticing more and more issues with it - issues that, most of the times, aren't even issues to begin with. letting go of perfectionism is very difficult, but at some point you'll have to do that--
and about perfectionism, a VERY good exercise we did in comics school was being forced to "draw fast". this isn't me telling you you NEED to draw as quick as possible, but it's an exercise that forces you to learn quickly where certain body parts go, to prioritize specific details rather than others. we had a model, and at first we had to sit there for an hour drawing her, then the hour became 30 minutes, then 10, then 5, and at the end 1. it took us a few lessons to do that, but at the end the super sketchy 1 minute copy went from ???? to a stylized human figure!!!
learn to draw realistic anatomy, and then make it your own style.
for the love of god learn prespective it's a bore it's a chore but as soon as you learn that everything becomes SO much easier
for shading, just. put a point in the canvas where the light source is and go from there!! if the light is on the right, the shades will be on the left
if you're coloring, play with the shades' colors. a good idea is to use the opposite color you use for the lights - if the light is yellow, the shades look great in purples, for example just don't use pure black unless you wanna go for a more dark/noir aesthetic oh my god
professional comic artists retrace a lot of their backgrounds. i'm js. use this as you wish :)
learn to draw different body shapes!!!! like getting out of the anime phase of "fat people are just like thin people but with a huge belly" can be difficult, but it's very satisfying
go out of your comfort zone. if you have problems drawing horses, spend a few days learning to draw horses. take some pics and try to understand them.
body proportions are so fun once you realize how so many things are the same. generally speaking, your spread hand is as long as your face, your feet and half the size of your arm; the outer corner of your eye is at the same level of your ear, and the inner corner is perpendicular to your nose and the corner of your mouth; if you leave your arm on your side, your elbow is at the same level of your bellybutton, and your fingers reach halfway your thighs. it's so fun
and yea, i can't stress it enough. it'll take time. art is painful, art is stressful, art can be discouraging. take a step at the time, accept some failures and celebrate any good thing - even the smaller ones. you learned to draw hands today, and you should be proud. i tried to draw a cat for the first time and it looks wonky, but the cat you will draw tomorrow will look better. i believe in you
