My tech director named me stage manager like 10 minutes before the first rehearsal. He was then mad at me for not knowing the play.

Starting a new production back in our tiny blackbox theatre! First rehearsal went good enough.

Our lighting tech had to leave early so I got to do some basic lighting for the scenes. The board we have in the smaller theatre is all sliders, as opposed to the auditorium lighting system that is computer-based.

Since our lighting guy has only done one show with us he hasn't actually used this system, so I got to teach him the basics in very hushed whispers as the actors did some team building games.

It's so crazy to believe that we ended our giant production last month... It seems like a year ago honestly. Probably because we're moving onto something new so quickly!

Even though the microphones were a fun challenge I'm glad not to work with finicky mic packs for the next two months! Those things were so cranky. (yes the new production is opening in two months we have to move fast)

I should say it more often, but no joke, I think people who looking into doing narrative writing or narrative design and game design should become invested in one major sport, or at least loosely follow one, because the interaction of the game mechanics against how audiences and commentary interacts with them to find and create patterns and then stories out of numbers is fascinating. The endless way we reframe gameplay statistics to create what is literally called The Narrative of a team history or a player career or the gameplay season is good to be familiar with. I always recommend baseball in particular, not just because I love baseball but because baseball has really simple basic rules but the major leagues have some really interesting hijinks.

HI!! well we had a preview for the middle schoolers today and it didn’t go horribly but it didn’t go amazingly either. there was just a lot of little hiccups with scene transitions and other stuff that added up. morale was a little low, but we’ve done worse 😭 and we know we can do better! opening night is tomorrow! we debated getting a swear jar because the cursing going on backstage was 😭😭😭 extremely heightened 😭

I've been wanting to do this for a while and finally… I've got to doing EVERYBODY. Not a single one missing! Mostly hcs for sexualities and some gender shit lol (albeit some are old and I might change that) and also it's been a while for some sources so the time they appear on screen might be incorrect jvjdggdjgd

I'm fine with sharing literally all of them, even Apetrully whom I have a bit of a special bond with because he helped me get through one of the hardest times of my life. I'm way too compersive tbh lol

Back in 2010, the social media phenomenon seemed much more benign -- Facebook and Twitter were still relatively new, and their potential for misuse, like the Cambridge Analytica scandal, was relatively untapped. Yet the story behind the growth of Facebook still intrigued a lot of people, especially when it was adapted for the big screen by writer Aaron Sorkin and director David Fincher. The result was The Social Network, a film that was both a critical success and a huge box-office hit. Sorkin's screenplay won an Academy Award, while Fincher also earned one of the movie's eight Oscar nominations. (Now, According Deadline.com there's a sequel in development, with Sorkin set to both write and direct.) At the time of the film's release, Sorkin and Fincher both talked to us about how they hadn't set out to create a "trendy Internet movie," they just knew a good story when they saw it. 

 The Social Network is available on DVD, Blu-Ray, and most digital platforms.
