When I backed the original Kickstarter in 2019, I received a beautiful Master Edition with faux leather cover, gold and silver embossing, ribbon bookmarks, gilded pages, and a beautiful signature page. The recipes I’ve tried have been delicious and accessible, and my family and friends beg me to make Aimee’s milk tea recipe for our get-togethers and events. See some pictures below!

The Hero's Cookbook Layout

Alright, I finished the layout for the Hero's Cookbook today, and I made a few very important decisions:

Instead of multiple categories for ingredients, there's one "Ingredient Profiles" category, and each page in that category will feature multiple ingredients

I've cut down on the repetitive recipes; so instead of "Fish Skewer" and "Copious Fish Skewers", we just have "Fish Skewers", and instead of Meat, Prime Meat, and Gourmet Meat variations of the meaty meals, it's all condensed into a high quality meaty recipe.

Snacks have been redistributed throughout the meal-type categories to bulk them out

There will be both a physical and digital option, with the digital option being not just a downloadable PDF, but a fully interactive PDF that will allow you to click tabs to get to each section, click on specific recipes to jump to that page, and fill in different sections for yourself if you have a PDF editor like GoodNotes, Xodo, etc.

At it's current layout and with these choices to consolidate, using only the recipes available in game, the Hero's Cookbook has 125 recipes.

So my question is, should I include additional recipes that aren't necessarily available in game, but would make sense given what Link is able to create, or should I leave it at 125? I'd love to get some opinions from potential readers/buyers.

For those of you who are curious, or didn't know, Vincent Price and his second wife, Mary wrote two beautiful cookbooks filled with recipes and stories of their culinary travels. It's wonderful. Such talent.

I’m super excited, I just pre-ordered the second Unofficial Legend of Zelda Cookbook! I haven’t had much time/energy to make much from the first one, but it’s such a gorgeous book. I got the collectors edition, so it’s physically beautiful, probably the nicest book I own. But the recipes are also so interesting and so well put together.

Listen! This is the Kickstarter for The Unofficial Legend of Zelda Cookbook, volume TWO! Five years ago, Aimee WoodWorks developed volume one of her Unofficial Legend of Zelda Cookbook to great success. She promised and has delivered volume two! Volume one had probably 98% of the recipes from the LoZ franchise, including all but a very few of the Breath of the Wild recipes, Hyoi Pears from The Wind Waker, the Guardian Potion from Skyward Sword and so many more! Most of these recipes include variations for different dietary needs, as well. Vegan? Gluten-free? Non-alcoholic? All there!

(Personally, my favorite is Creamy Meat Soup!)

Volume TWO is set to have all the Tears of the Kingdom recipes and the few LoZ recipes that were left out of Volume One.

Bright Potion? There's a recipe for that!

Hylian Tomato Pizza? Got it!

HATENO CHEESE? There's a recipe for that, too!

Zelda Cookbook 2

4 years ago I bought the 1st Zelda cookbook from Aimee. It was a beautiful book filled with simple to make and easy to edit recipes and introduced me to many new ways of cooking. The Second book is on Kickstarter now, and though it has already far surpassed it's goal I think it's a nice thing for Zelda Fans who like cooking to check out.

So, I'm excited and so honored to have been invited to be a writer for vol. 2 of Homemade in Hyrule cookbook zine!

I have permission to share a little excerpt of my piece. Skyward Sword is probably my favorite Zelda game in the way of characters and story, and I'm humbled to have the opportunity to be a part of such an incredible group of creators. Keep your eyes out for this one - it's going to be such a great volume!🥰

I'm working on planning the layout for the Hero's Cookbook so I know what all needs to get done, and this is a MASSIVE project.

This project is going to feature:

24 full page illustrations

150+ recipes with spot art and/or photos

A glossary of ingredients, including conversions of in-game to real world choices and why they were chosen, featuring even more spot art

In total this cookbook will be between 200-300 pages, fully illustrated and in color. I have no idea how long it'll take me, but I'm excited!
