I've decided to work more on my Eltingville Club OCs. Changed a lot about Vinny, and just wrote a bit about Joesph more. So here's all that! Buckle in, I wrote a lot. More then what I thought I would. Like a WHOLE lot more. More then I ever wrote for a regular OC. (If there's any spelling or grammer mistakes, please let me know!!! Thank you 💕)

"Vinny" (still not her real name lol)

Vinny is a pretty average, rather dumb girl who grew up in a southern town from the middle of nowhere and recently moved to eltingville with her uncle and cousin Joesph due to complications with her family back at home. Though she's not as much as a nerd like the eltingville club is, she is as ignorant and aragont, just not in the geek way to a sertant extent. Vinny absolutely hates anyone that she deems to be "living a better life" than her. This mostly includes popular kids/celebrities and people who are in a relationship. She feels entitled to the kind of attention they get and she doesn't think "they" deserve any of it simply because she's doesn't have it.

Vinny doesn't show it upfront not because she's actively trying to hide the fact that's she's a jealous hating freak, but because she's a coward and knows her actions cause consequences if caught. So most of her harrasment and shenanigans comes from her sitting behind her computer. Yes, she has "70 ALTERNATIVE ACCOUNTS!!!!" She'll harras kids from her school, celebrities, and make tons of forum/blog posts about stuff like how it should of been her to kiss Han Solo and not Leia. (Yeah, maybe she still a hating geek like the Eltingville Club) Though due to her not being the brightest, her harrasment tends to backfire. However, suprisingly enough, her shenanigans will still remain anonymous for the most part.

Vinny only hangs out with the Eltingville Club because Joesph wants her to. She always ends up running her own friendships that she has due to her self destructive behavior, and the Eltingville Club is perfect for someone like that! She is rather possessive of Joesph since he's the only person who tries to include her and actually hangs out with her. He let's her paint his robots and treats her more like a sister rather then a cousin. Of course, this means she gets a bit jealous when Josh comes over to hang out with Joesph.

Which led her to befriending "Greedo318" on the internet.(I can't remember if Greedo had been around since before the epilogue or not. So if not then cancel this part out, or this can be an AU where Greedo did exist for this long) Vinny definitely has no clue that "Greedo318" is Bill and vice-versa. Worst of all she has a crush on "Greedo318", or at least the idea of him. Come on It's a dude that validates her feelings and bad actions, it was bound to happen.

Vinny enjoys hanging out with the Eltingville Club because of the drama. Oh boy does she eat it up. Until something is said about her in a negative way, then she's... throwing it up(?) She's convinced Jerry has a crush on her, or at least finds her to be attractive, all because he's the one out of the four that's the "nicest" to her. So take that as you will.

For Bill she goes back and forth with wether or not she likes him. He'll make comments that she'll takes personally which leads to her trying to ruin something for him. Luckily for Bill, it'll backfire on her just like how everything else does. But then there's been moments were they work together to make someone's life miserable, or even yap about comics.

She couldn't care less for Josh of course. Honestly she's a bit convinced Josh and Joesph might be gay for eachother. Not too sure on how she feels about that. Then there's

Pete, who she can't come up with a solid opinion on. She probably thinks his accent is attractive in a way, and likes that he enjoys horror movies too. (Vinny likes seeing people getting brutally murdered, go figure.) But he's still a bit too "weird" to her.

Other then her negative traits, Vinny is rather odd but your nice typical teenaged girl. She tells stories about her home town, like how the mayor there was an actual pig.

She also has a pretty low IQ, just as low as her self-esteem. So yeah...she's definitely saying some dumb crap and having things fly over her head. She loves animals, arts and crafts, and reading comics cause that's all she really had back at home.

She only recently got introduced to all the other geek stuff by the help of Joesph. Her main obsession is virtual pets since they remind her of the animals she took care of at her grandparents farm when she was younger. Her favorites are her Tamagochi and Furby. She probably also has Neopets and later on got a TON of Webkinz. She would also totally play the heck out of the sims games.

Joesph McGee

Joesph is still the robotics/technology freak he is. The Eltingville Club at this point is probably questioning if he's neodivergent. He's the friendliness guy to walk the planet for the most part. He hates it when the club fights and breaks up. Then gets happy when they make up, thinks it's going to stay that way, and the pattern continues. ("Bill, look at me, this isn't you 🥺" type ahh)

His best friend is Josh, cause of course the two sci-fi nerds are friends! He tends to take his side for most of their arguments and when the club breaks up he's hanging out with him afterwards. He's pretty close with Jerry too, considering they're the only two pretty sane ones from the group. Also Joesph admires how good of a dungeon master Jerry is. He thinks Jerry is cool.

Then there's Vinny of course, he adores her and is pretty protective when it comes to her. He doesn't like that she acts out the way she does, though he doesn't even know half of it. He just wants the best for her knowing her problems just like everyone else in his life.

He's chill with Pete, he likes that he can just pick him up with little to no effort. Pete doesn't like it. Though Pete's liking towrds gore does make him a bit scared.

Bill is a whole other can of worms, Joesph genuinely believes he's a good person that's going to change. Who's gonna tell him? Actually, don't tell him. Let him be delusional.

He's also pretty good friends with IronJaw too, he doesn't mind the spit. Actually, he thinks his braces are sick and wishes he could have them. Would make him look like he had some sort of cool technology thing in his mouth. They don't hang out much but he enjoys talking to him when they're at the comic book store or at school.

Joesph can have his nerd rage moments, though it's very VERY rare. It would take a lot for him to genuinely get mad, and even then afterwards he'll probably end up crying. Most girls actually find him attractive compared to the other guys, until he starts yapping, then they hate him. Poor Joe. He has more potential then the other guys yet still can't get any action. Not that he really cares though, as long has he has robots, he's good.

Tutorial: How do I design my MK Characters?

(big tutorial btw, but it's worth it)

Have you ever tried to make an OC to fit in Mortal Kombat universe, but you couldn't find any ideas for what your OC needs to wear and they end up with the most generic outfit? I've had lol.

So, I decided to "study" the Mortal Kombat games, by its lore, characters designs and some real life references they get to create their own characters.

And oh boy, the creators had LOADS of inspirations!

As the slide below shows, Raiden's hat design was inspired by a movie "Big trouble in little China".

Even tho Raiden's hat is similar to the movie's hat, the creators made their own version and adapted to create Raiden's character design.

Same thing for Liu Kang. In the first games, it was quite clear that his design and moves were inspired by Bruce Lee. But as the game's evolution with other Mortal Kombats, Liu Kang's design started to become more original. In MK11, his design got a good upgrade!

As the slide above shows, when creating your character, consider blending various elements that resonate with you-such as color palettes, clothing styles, or personality traits-from multiple sources.

But what does it mean?

It means when you’re designing a character — whether for a story, a game, or a piece of art — you can get ideas from things you already like, like your favorite books, movies, games, or comic books.

Instead of copying directly, you take elements you find cool (like a color scheme, a style of clothing, a bit of their backstory, or a particular trait) and mix them together in your own way.

Then you add your own twist — something unique or different — to make sure your character feels original and not just a replica of someone else’s.

In the end, it’s about using what inspires you as a starting point and turning it into something that’s entirely yours.

So remember:

Inspirations ≠ Copying

Now let's talk about the most notable elements in every Mortal Kombat character!

Distinct Color Palettes:

Every character typically has their own color scheme that makes them immediately recognizable — like Scorpion’s yellow, Sub-Zero’s blue, Kitana’s blue, Mileena’s pink, or Raiden’s white and blue. This color-coding started in the earliest games to help players tell ninja-like characters apart, and it’s remained a tradition in their designs.

Cultural Influences:

The designers draw a lot from martial arts, East Asian culture, and cinema. Ninja masks, samurai armor, Shaolin monk outfits, and mythical creatures all appear in character designs, reflecting a rich blend of traditions.

Unique Silhouettes:

Every character has a silhouette that makes them instantly recognizable, thanks to their headgear, shoulder armor, masks, or physical traits. For example: Goro’s four arms or Baraka’s bladed arms set them apart immediately.

Over-the-Top Styles:

The Mortal Kombat universe is fantastical and dramatic — character outfits often combine practicality with fantasy elements.

Designs frequently feature exaggerated shoulder pads, elaborate masks, dramatic belts, and other details that underscore their power or role in the story.

Thematic Consistency:

The designs reflect their backstory, powers, and personalities. For example, icy motifs for Sub-Zero, a thunder deity's attire for Raiden, a warlord's armor for Shao Kahn, or the grotesque, monster-like traits of Baraka.

Evolution Over Time:

As technology improved and games transitioned from 2D sprites to 3D models, character designs became more sophisticated and realistic — adding texture, finer details, and more cinematic movement — while staying true to their roots.

OKAY! Now let's put this on practice. I'm going to show you how I did Mitsuko's design (on the first photo). You can do your own character in a different way and that's okay :)

My first step is gathering references. I usually do this on Pinterest, but I do a deep search too! When I create a character from another country, I always do a research about the culture, lifestyle, etc.

To organize the references, I create a foulder called: MK OC inspirations. And I LOVE to organize my character's info by writing on topics. Here are the list of apps that I used:

1st step: Gather references - you can use Pinterest and PureRef for it!

2nd step: Make a 3d pose - Daz 3D is your best friend in this step

3rd step: Photobashing - Photopea is very useful and very easy to use

(save the file after you finish this step. Save the file on PSD format.)

WARNING: You need to be very careful when you're about to use this method cause every image you might take has their copyright. So search the images carefully.

Hobie Brown & Non-Conventional Relationships

How to Write Hobie in Non-Conventional Relationships - & How I incorporate it into my own writing

{Non-Conventional Relationship Abbreviated as NCR}

This is Part 2 - Check out Part 1 here if you want! Hobie Brown is unconventional is every way - and he likes it that way. From his music to his views, Hobie is always ready to challenge the norm - choosing to look for healthier, kinder, and freer alternatives.

And that extends to his romantic relationships too.

I talked HERE about Non-Conventional Relationships, the lack of them in fics, what they could look like for Hobie, and how they're a reflection of his values - including his feminism.

In that one, I wanted to talk about why Hobie needs Non-Conventional Relationships, and I analyzed why NCRs are so scarce within the Hobie fandom (hint: it's sexism). I also spoke about how I purposely designed my Spidersona - DiscoSpider Diane - with subversion of a sexist trope in mind, and how we as a fandom can write healthier 'Y/N's.

But I also wanted to talk about - and give clear examples of how a NCR might work for Hobie, and how to write it in fanfiction.

This is a Writer's Guide to writing Hobie Brown in NCRs, and writing 'Y/N's that challenge the norm. As well as how I apply these tips directly in my own writing with Hobie.

[I offer tips and writing advice as well as the ways I use these tips in my writing. I touch on alternative forms of affection, intimacy, polyamory, independence, and labels] Heads Up!! Hobie Brown & Affection:

Showing and valuing alternative forms of affection can be a great foundation for Non-Conventional Relationships. There's a wide array of ways to express affection in a relationship - ranging from full on playfulness and messing with each other - to being romantic but only in private. And anywhere in between. In order to challenge stereotypical romance, here's where we can start.

First things first: Cut the generic pet names One of the most common things across all Hobie fics, are generic pet-names. It's hard to find a fic without one 'luv', 'darlin', or 'sweetheart'. And it makes sense, it romantic - and a classic way to show affection. But it can be easy to use these terms as a crutch to infuse romance into dialogue. A good way to diverge from this convention is by dropping the generic pet-names all together. By abandoning words like 'luv' and 'darlin' we're forcing ourselves to find more personal terms for him to call his partner. Hobie calls Gwen and Miles personalized pet-names, and this can extend to his partner too. These names can be personal - When writing OCs, you can use things like inside jokes, a shortened version of their name, or some form of rhyming slang. Having something happen within the story that Hobie pulls a nickname from is also a great idea, or having him call them by a defining trait or something tongue in cheek. [Like if your character is known for being a bit gloomy, have him call them sunshine. If they sing, he can call them songbird, etc.] When writing xReaders, you can subvert typically 'negative' terms into loving and playful names. For example, if the !Reader is portrayed as shy, he may loving call her Mouse Whisper. If they're hotheaded, he may just call them 'hot-head'. But by having personalized pet-names, the reader is shown that Hobie and them have history and past connections that Hobie finds meaningful.

Annoyance can be affection too I talked about this HERE We all love attention from our partners - some just seek it out in different ways. Annoying ways. And I can see Hobie being one to do this - Adorable, but annoying ways. Playfulness is a great way to substitute romance in NCR. We all know those relationships where they love messing with each other or pissing each other off. Having inside jokes about each other, or teasing in a way only the other person is allowed to. It's never mean, but in a way, a form of intimacy. And when romances are written like this, it shows that the two know each other well, down to the smallest things that make them tick. They know each other well, and have a clear soft spot for each other when one starts bugging the other and the other doesn't snap (lol). When writing, you can give them small pet peeves that Hobie may do to irk them. When writing OCs, Hobie can give them nicknames that irk them. Or point out things that annoy them. Maybe he likes a food they hate, and eats it in front of them all the time. It's all in good fun, and shows the two aren't shy around each other. You can also have them bring up embarrassing stories of each other, to show they're close and spend a lot of time together. When writing xReaders, you can have him popping up at the worst times, hanging off of the reader, and overall trying to distract them from what they're doing. He could also play light pranks to mess with the reader - and vice versa - always making sure to end it with a hug and a laugh. At the end of the day, it's all about getting their partners attention and playing around with them. And talking about that -

Touch as a Love Language: Don't be afraid of playfighting Some IRL couples playfight. And it can be adorable. If the pestering goes to far, then the reader finally has to give him all their attention - and they can playfight him. Which is what he wants, their attention. This is something that can be done with both OCs and xReaders - and if they're a Spider-person EVEN BETTER. Don't be afraid to have Hobie pick the reader up, having the reader jump on his back, or punch his arm lightly. Having them wrestle for something, and it can turn into cuddling. The character can jump on his back playfighting, and doom - Hobie's running and it's a sudden piggyback ride.

While on the topic of Love Languages: Laughter as a Love Language Laughter can be a HUGE love language. In addition to annoying their partner, some people aim to making their partner laugh whenever they can. Whether this be making jokes, or doing things they think are hilarious. Not only is is super playful - but it shows that they're close and know each other well. They know what they other think is funny, what's sure to get a laugh, and most importantly, when their partner needs it the most. It shows that they care about their partner's happiness, and they want to bait it out them every way they can - even if that means making themselves look silly from time to time again. This is one of my favorite tools when writing NCRs and it works for both OCs and xReader.

If really want to challenge yourself and show a new form of romance: Abandon 'I love you.' Ever heard of Han Solo and Princess Leia? The whole "I love you." - "I know." trope? Saying 'I love you' is of course one of the easiest ways to show love - but when we abandon it, we can find cuter and more personal things to replace it. In doing this we begin to show a NCR relationship that openly challenges romance. By doing away with 'I love you's in favor something personal, we're showing that their feelings go beyond 'love' into something more personal and intimate to them. They can still be madly in love and not say it - it can be completely unspoken cause they both know. And so, they don't take it too seriously. When writing OCs, you can replace the phrase completely, substituting it with a repeated phrase on both sides. "I hate you" also works as a playful subversion. When writing xReaders, you can have the other side not respond the usual way - "I love you." - "Uh-huh." Or you can have them not say it at all. And have it completely but clearly emotionally implied.

Hobie Brown & PDA:

Hobie is a natural touchy guy. He likes standing close to people, leaning over them and putting his hands on their shoulders. So by having him display limited romantic PDA with his partner, and treating them no different than anyone else, you're challenging the norm and forcing yourself to write other ways.

Prioritize Privacy Hobie is often (or rather only) characterized as a very open person with his relationship, openly kissing, making out, and touching his partner. And this is very typical of a romantic relationship. If you'd like to write a NCR you can try to challenge this. Hobie is from a police state, a world where surveillance is prevalent and freedom is limited. Plus he's a rockstar - people get nosey. And don't even get me start on The Society snooping. You can reflect this by having him prioritize privacy - either out of survival instinct, or just personal preference. Hobie keeping his relationship a secret, or simply not mentioning it, allows a freedom not often see in traditional relationships. By doing this, the relationship can develop naturally without typical pressures or outside influence - whether dangerous or Society wise. The two are allowed to take it as slow - or as fast as they want, without worrying about anyone else getting in the way. And with Hobie being a guy who likes to share often, him keeping one small thing to himself can be special. This can be used for both OCs and xReaders.

Keep Kisses in Private Stealing kisses can be extremely cute, and saving them for private can make them 10x more intimate. Plus this is another one that can be used by both OCs and xReaders. By saving kisses for private moments, those rare instances automatically become more intimate. And by having them restrain themselves, when they do finally get to be alone it can feel romantic (not just sexual). By having them save their kisses for only them, they become more special to Hobie and his partner. They may choose to not kiss at all in public and leave it at that or try to steal kisses when they can - or even substitute a different form of intimacy in place of kisses. Ever see that couple that one of them will walk by the other, and one person will put their hand in the other's for a moment as they pass by before letting go? Like that. Cheek kisses can also be a good substitute for public. Plus in the rare times they do kiss in front of someone, you can save it for super emotional or heated moments (or moments like parties, bars, etc - those are always fun. The gang finding out the two of you have been dating a year after you both get drunk at a party and make-out? Love it.)

Or you can take it over the top - and make it openly committed and intimate, but label-less. Having a partner he kisses, hugs and lives with but does not refer to as his girlfriend also challenges norms of possessiveness - bonus points if they're poly (which I'll touch on in a second). By having him clearly involved with someone, and seriously committed but having it between them can be a NCR. The character doesn't have to be his girlfriend or boyfriend. That can simply be 'his person' or 'the one'. Or he's 'seeing somebody' - or 'with them'. He's not outright saying they're dating, but yeah - they're solidly involved. They may have a kid together, sleep in the same bed, or say 'I love you', but by both parties rejecting labels, they're openly denying people an inside look to their relationship. Are they together? What's that got to do with you?

Or have them be 'life partners' aka - marriage without marriage. This one may be easier to develop for OCs, but can be done for xReaders too. Have them openly express interest in being each other's life long partners. Have them speak as if they're married, even if they aren't. By verbalizing this connection, they don't need rings or a wedding certificate to speak to them, because they openly say it as a form of PDA. Having them believe in soulmates, or 'other halfs' takes the 'caring boyfriend' trope and pushes it into something far more intimate and personal. This could include things like matching tattoos, sharing a home together, wearing things of each other's in place of a ring, etc.

Hobie, Labels, and Polymory (Open Relationships)

Every single fic I've seen of Hobie assumes both parties are monogamous. Let's challenge that.

Do away with the idea of Hobie and jealousy It's unrealistic for his character. Hobie is openly supportive, non-possessive, and EXTREMELY confident. Jealousy is an attribute that feeds off of insecurity first, and sexist tropes of possession second - the idea of having no one touch 'your' partner. Any partner Hobie has isn't his - no one belongs to any one. They can be with whoever and do whatever they want when he's not there. So long as he sees his a priority in your life, he'll be there. Let's just hope the OTHER guy is okay with that (and not extremely intimidated by how perfect Hobie is). This applies to both OCs and xReaders.

Open the relationship - and keep it honest The priority when writing this is honesty - because Hobie values it A LOT. And I cannot stress this more. If his partner is honest with him, and genuinely makes an effort to make him a priority, then Hobie is happy. Hobie himself may not choose to have multiple partners, but by having option on the table and having his partner exercise that shows a huge degree of maturity, communication, and freedom. By having a partner who can openly pursue romance outside of Hobie, but still chooses Hobie as their primary partner, their relationship becomes a lot freer, but still just as close - if not stronger. Sure they've got options, and sometimes they may have flings, but at the end of the day, there's no one they connect more with than each other. Better with OCs, but can be done with xReaders.

Let his partner have the last say Hobie can't be a player if he's not the one calling the shots. Have a xReader or OC that is openly outspoken about what they want and the label they're interested in. (even if thats 'unlabeled) Have the reader be the one who doesn't want to make it official, or on the inverse, have them insist that either they make it official or else they'll stop seeing them. And have them stand their ground. Do not have them budge or waiver or second-guess. Have them leave the ball in Hobie's court - and sort it out for himself. By doing this you're giving them a sense of agency and independence outside of him, and inverts the sexist expectation that men be the ones who define the relationship.

In the words of Coi Leray "Cause Girls is Players too." Kick slut-shaming in the teeth. Where are all the city girls? Directly challenge sexist tropes that are prevalent in the Hobie fandom, by writing a female character who is openly and sexually liberated, knows her worth, and knows how to handle her feelings. Have her be the one seeing multiple people, have him be the one to pass the guy on the way out. Its not more shameful when the character does it. If you want to make Hobie a player who can run game - acknowledge that some girls run game too. And many girls can call that shit from a mile away. Having a character who has multiple partners, but slowly finds themself falling for Hobie in specific is an interesting dymanic. It forces you to show a woman's sexuality in a different and positive light, one not connected to her lust for a specific man. And it forces you to challenge the idea of 'fast girls' or 'groupies'. Ever seen 'She's Gotta Have It' by Spike Lee? That. And you can have her other partners acting as a contrast to Hobie. If she starts realling her other partner really ain't shit - Hobie starts looking a lot better. And let me just say - this doesn't have to cause drama. Having Hobie and the character both be polyamorous, only to connect with each other and laugh about their other escapades can be CUTE. And neither are threatened, because they know it's all in good fun, and they know they've got their partner on lock.

Find alternative labels Take 'boyfriend and girlfriend' off the table and get creative. They can be life partners, or Best Friends with Benefits (who are genuinely friends, stay that way and are not just thinly vieled romantic tension), or the xReader/OC can simply 'his girl' or 'his guy'. By doing this, you're able to put a label on it, without taking it serious at all. It signals that there is something there and they know it, and they don't need normal terms to define it. Good for both OCs and xReaders.

Hobie & Gender Roles

Chivalry is dead. Romance your boyfriend to death.

I spoke in the last post of about Hobie's feminism and his understanding of the patriarchy and the way it works. And I think Hobie would work to openly defy gender roles in his relationship. Here's are some tips to do that.

Have the xReader or OC initiate the romance Have them confidently ask him out. Have your OC or xReader be the one to approach him at a party and hit on him. Just by doing so, you're putting your characters in a situation that subverts gender roles - where the many is typically the one to approach his mate. It shows confidence on the part of the xReader/OC and let's them step outside the traditional trope of a passive feminine partner.

Have them initiate touch/affection as well Have them touch him first, or wrap their arms around him. Have them kiss his neck (if they can reach lol). Instead of having a shy and quiet xReader who only accepts compliments from Hobie - have them openly and boldly compliment him. A girl who openly loves her partner/boyfriend and yeah- she's gonna talk about him cause she can. Have them call him pet-names first. And show Hobie enjoying it or feeling comforted by it. In doing so, you're allowing him to show a softer side that is also absent in a lot of fics. Plus you're breaking the trope of once again, the partner just passive accepting Hobie's affection without active reciprocation.

Actively show Hobie being comforted and taken care of - not just when he's in crisis Have the character ask if he's okay - in the way a couple will look at each other and be like "You good?" even when nothings going on. Have the character be the one to ask if he's eaten. Don't only do this when he's about to emotionally crack, or when he's physically beat up. Do it on the daily. Men shouldn't have to break before their emotional needs are addressed. So often in fics Hobie is seen as the perfect protector who never gets tired - and then there's no mention of him ever taking care of himself in any way. That's now how this works. Hobie is community based. That means he looks after the people he care about. If the character cares about him, they have them go out of their way to show it - the same way he does. The xReader/OCs can hold him while he's crying or make him go to sleep when he's up all night. They can hear him out when he's annoyed with Miguel, and help him when he's feeling not 100% too. SO many fics are about the reader NEEDing Hobie for some often asinine reason. Sometimes Hobie needs his partner too.

How I write a Non-Conventional Relationship For more info you can check out Diane's Character Sheet here and her tag here

I spoke briefly in my last post about Hobie, feminism, and how subverting sexist tropes contributed to her characterization - so this time I just want to give an overview of how that translates to a NCR - and how that can be shown clearly in writing.

Hopefully this will give some ideas or at the very least, I can ramble about Diane lol Diane & Hobie - A Basic Overview

I don't have a word for what Diane and Hobie are supposed to be, and that's intentional.

They aren't dating. Because they don't go on traditional dates - they just hang a lot. They're not boyfriend and girlfriend because that's rigid in it's confines. Even partners can be a bit of a stretch. I wanted to write them instead as two people who care about each other and make an effort to be in each other's lives. They're the other's largest emotional support and cheerleader - and their emotional reactions take focus over the romantic ones.

Diane and Hobie have a Non-Conventional Romance because they're in an emotional relationship rather than a romantic one. There is romance there - but the same way a romantic relationship isn't a 'sexual relationship' because sex is involved - an emotional relationship does not become entirely romantic once romance is involved.

Their emotional relationship is very committed, but their romantic relationship is extremely casual. Here are some ways I show that.

DiscoPunk & Affection:

Diane and Hobie do not use typical pet-names. Instead, Hobie is more likely to call Diane 'Daiquiri' - a nickname left over from the first time they've met. It's an embarrassing memory for Diane - and a story Hobie loves to tell. But by calling her Daiquiri, he's sending the reminder that he thinks about the night they met often and remembers it well. Including the 4 Daiquiris she made him buy her. He also calls her Clover - as she's one of his 'Lucky Charms'. Diane is the same, preferring to call Hobie by his name - or over the top names like 'pookie', 'honeybun', or 'hot stuff'. Though the most common she'll default to is 'babe', though she will only do this will they're completely alone. Hobie openly annoys Diane and she lets him. Diane is easy to mess with, easy to sneak up on and easy to confuse (sorry girl). It's easy for him to make her jump if he's too quiet, and despite being fairly outgoing, Disco gets embarrassed easily. Sharing constant silly stories, calling her embarrassing nicknames and ruffling her perfectly manicure hair, are go to ways to piss her off. And you can usually tell when she asks "Am I playing with you? Does it look like I'm playing right now??" In turn, Diane does her 'groupie act', which involves running up and hugging him hard as hell, jumping on his back, or talking about how cute he is in a baby voice while pinching his cheeks. They playfight A LOT. Hobie is known to come up behind Diane, lovingly slipping his arms around her waist. He lifts her up - and then tries to bodyslam her. He's holding her like he's about to do a judo flip and Diane is shoving at him telling him to cut it out. In turn, Diane likes to run at him from a far and jump on his back, and she's known to punch his shoulder if he gets too cheeky with the jokes. (Thank god they both have Spider Strength). And while they may not be quick to cuddle or hold each other in public - if Hobie is asking for it they WILL wrestle, and with matched strength, they don't stop until someone (usually Jess) tells them to cut it out. And Laughter is one of their biggest Love Languages. Hobie LOVES making Diane laugh - mainly because it's such a spectacle. Diane will scream and cry in laughter, doubled over so hard she has to sit down or leave the room. And for Hobie, it's easy to do this, so he does it whenever's the most inappropriate. Him dancing is a HUGE way because it brings Diane to tears almost instantly, without fail. She begs him to stop cause she can't breathe - she's laughing so hard. Hobie refuses and keeps dancing, just to mess with her. On the inverse, when Diane does it, most of the time she doesn't mean to. Diane is clever, but she's blunt and a little.. easy to confuse. And when she blurts something out or asks a question that sounds a bit ridiculous, Hobie can't help but laugh. Like when she saw Peter B. unmasked for the first time, and immediately asked him "Wait, why are you white?" Hobie will almost away burst into laughter, which is usually followed by Diane going "Whatttt? What did I say? Why are you laughing at me :(' Everytime she does this she is completely serious, which Hobie finds even funnier. If she's confused, he'll try to explain it to her, and he never teases her for it. It's just that Hobie chooses his words very carefully, and Diane says exactly what comes to mind.

They very rarely say 'I love you' and only do it in private. Usually, they'll only say this when one of them is going through it, the other just did something awesome, or they're alone and in a good mood. It reserved for moments of intimacy or spontaneity. With a relationship that is so playful, the two of them would probably think that saying it outright is a bit too sappy and plain. Instead, they substitute it by asking the other if they love them -

If Hobie does something for Diane, instead of Diane saying "I love you", Hobie will be the one to say "Don't you love me?" If Diane does something for Hobie, instead of him saying "I love you", he can swap it with "You must love me." (Usually the other person may say "I do" or an equally loving "Shut up.")

DiscoPunk & PDA:

They prioritize privacy. They don't label themselves - to anybody, even close friends. They let people make their own assumptions because it doesn't matter anyway. Plus with Diane being very committed to her place in the Spider Society, it's preferable to just keep it between them. Hobie doesn't really care either way. But the less people bothering him and asking questions, the better.

Diane and Hobie never kiss in front of other people. Save for a few exceptions. Despite being very physically and playfully affectionate, Hobie and Diane choose to keep most of their PDA completely private - and they're more likely to link arms than hold hands. When it comes to kissing, the two saves it for behind closed doors, or hidden spots in HQ. With relationships between Spider-people being prohibited at HQ, it's just easier that way - and the both of them prefer it. This even extends to close friends, including Pavi and Gwen. They may dramatically kiss the other's cheek to annoy them, making kissy sounds and grabbing each other's faced - and on occasion Hobie may give Diane a forehead kiss (she's tall enough to do this). They may cuddle in front of others too, but that's about it. But kisses in specific are just for them. Wasn't a conscious choice, but they like it that way. There's two exceptions though: 1) Shortly after meeting Hobie, Gwen ran into Hobie and Diane kissing at a hidden spot on campus. Nothing heated, but kissing. Diane felt her looking and seemed very disturbed and uncomfortable she had seen. Gwen left quickly, and although Hobie assured Diane that Gwen was okay, the two of them didn't meet until a later date, and Diane seemed a bit embarrassed.

2) Parties. After shows and while drinking Hobie and Diane are completely fine making out in public and showing full PDA. Why? Because they have the cover of the 'groupie act' and they can argue that they were drunk and were only messing around or even say they straight up don't remember. Their terms of commitment are unique. Neither Hobie (in my little universe) nor Diane believe in soulmates. But they do consider themselves 'committed', but they're not life-partners either. They don't care if they'll be together forever. The idea is nice, but it's not their focus. If they wanna spend their lives together, they can start but showing up for each up daily, rather than wearing rings daily.

DiscoPunk, Labels, and Polyamory:

Diane and Hobie are in an open relationship. Since they've never officially asked each other out, monogamy hasn't really been on the table ever. And both are fine and comfortable with this. Because they're great at minding their own business. Who's the girl leaving houseboat when Diane comes through? Who cares - but if touched the makeup Diane left on his bathroom counter, she'll be sending her an invoice and an angry letter. This is equal on both sides.

Diane is without a doubt more active, and more prone to one-night stands (she has a kink for guitarists) rather than full on relationships. Maybe it's the fact that having Hobie in the picture is intimidating as fuck to most guys.

Hobie also has his share - though he usually finds himself in flings and short relationships - going more for romance than sex. In fact, Hobie was with Diane for the duration of his relationship with his Felicia Hardy.

Naturally, Felicia and Diane knew about each other - though they hadn't met. Diane was fine with this and at most would ask how Felicia was doing. Felicia however really wanted to meet Diane. Like dying to meet her. So she found out Hobie's secret identity and just - turned up at one of his shows. Diane was...understandably confused. She was nice, but confused. Asked Hobie later like "Why's she here. Nothing wrong with it but like forreal why is she here?" and he's like "IDK I aint invite her m8 she always does this." Eventually the two got to know each other and although Hobie isn't with Felicia anymore (it's messy), her and Diane are still close friends.

Hobie perfers to let Diane have the last say when it comes to labels.

He's fairly unbothered. What's he gonna do - tell her he has to be her boyfriend? Or brush her off and still expect her to be there? Nah, Labels are the last thing he's worried about. And that's because he's fine with all of them. So long as they're clear. If avoided labels, and demanded to be label-less, that was still caring about labels.

This is where there's conflict - and instead of most fanfics in which the conflict is coming from him - in their case it's coming from her. Diane avoids commitment, terrified of the threat it could cause to the multiverse and Hobie's universe in specific. She's drank the society Kool-Aid so to speak, and will dance around the topic. Hobie has on occasion mentioned monogamy between them being a good option, but when directly approached, Diane will try to dance around the topic - mainly afraid of what Jess and especially Miguel will do if she falls out of line.

This, along with canon events, are the only things that can get them to actually argue - and it can sometimes decend into screaming matches (more about the Society rather than their relationship). They try to avoid bringing it up. But Diane is still paranoid and avoids it.

They use alternative labels instead. For sake of implicity, if you ask them directly "What is x to you?" Hobie will either say "Diane's my bird." or "Why do you want to know - You interested in me or her?" He may also say 'The Old Ball n' Chain' (mocking boomer humor) or simply say "That's Daiquiri."

Diane will most likely say "He's my little boo thang." She may also call him her 'hubby', or say 'I'm his biggest fan.'

WE'RE ALMOST DONE I PROMISE

Finally, DiscoPunk & Gender Roles

I wrote in the last post about how feminism and inverting the sexist trope of 'groupie' contributed a lot to Diane and her behavior towards Hobie. This can mostly be seen here:

Diane initiated the romance. Diane has always been Hobie's groupie, and outspoken in her affection for him. She thinks the girls hiding how much they like Hobie is silly - He KNOWS he's hot. Why not come out and say it - hype him up. Diane is also a way bigger flirt than Hobie - and I really wanted to write the two of them this way, because so much of the time Hobie is the one flirting, usually on a passive OC or xReader that simply passively accepts.

It's rare in dialogue that someone outright points out how hot Hobie is. So Diane does it. She was fine with being like "You're so hot it's distracting and that's not a joke. :) "

Diane usually initiates touch. Hobie rarely wraps his arms around her (unless he's doing that stupid judo shit she hates), but Diane does it to him all the time. She's tall enough on her skates that if she holds him by the waist from behind, she can see clearly over his shoulders. And it's not unusual to see Diane's eyes peek over Hobie's shoulder when you're talking to him. She's not listening, she's just there.

In turn, Hobie accepts this touch very much like the way an xReader would. He's usually the one intiating and offering touch, but when Diane does it him, he finds it comforting to be on the receiving side.

And I usually see this/show this as him softening into her touch, complimenting her for it, or baiting her into cuddling (like plopping down on her on the couch)

They supplement this a lot with closeness. Hobie and Diane always seem to be shoulder to shoulder, whispering inside jokes into each other's ears and trying not to crack up. Most often, Hobie with hput his arm around her shoulder, or if she's in her skates - a hand on her waist to steady her. Not that she needs it. Their relationship is mainly and largely emotional. And that's the basis of it. Hobie was the one who recruited Diane, and has been there for all of her canon events since, seeing her in her most venerable states.

Diane is dedicated to canon - and letting Miguel write her life for her - and although she finds herself conflicted and cornered by the Society, Hobie wants to be there for her always. And he'll be along for the ride as long as she'll have him. Diane in turn, tries her best to be positive when they're both from worlds where things can get really negative. No matter how much he tries to hide it, the constant battles and brutality with the police of his home world wears on him - and he's aware that he's different than most other Spider-people. He's killed before. Usually, he lets it out through his music and when it isn't that - it's through anger and protest. But like Hobie, Diane is a huge supporter of radical happiness. If you can think of Hobie's music as a call to arms, Diane's music is a love song to the sweeter brighter things in life. Diane was raised by The Black Panthers, and she knows just as well as he does what the brutality and pain of oppression can feel like. She has her feet firmly on the ground and her head happily in the clouds.

If anything, Diane is a person of comfort and escapism for Hobie. A reminder of the sweet life that he's fighting for. Diane lives completely free, free of labels and limits - even while living under the thumb of the Society. And she tries to remind Hobie what freedom feels like, when he gets tired of fighting every now and again _________________________________________________

In this way their emotional connection is mutual.

More than anything, I wanted Hobie and Diane to be emotional rocks to each other, before romantic partners. I didn't mean to write it that way (in my head), but it kinda ended up that way.

So often in the Hobie fandom we see the extremes of either Completely Detached Hobie - who sleeps around and wants nothing to do with labels - or Completely Committed Hobie - who is madly in love with his partner in a traditional sense. And in their relationship, I hoped to challenge that. By writing a Hobie than didn't care either way, or went with the flow. A Hobie that was just as thoughtful in his relationships as he was in his friendships. Instead, I wanted to shift the focus to Diane and making it about her choice. By having the woman be the one to define the relationship, the story can now focus on an internal struggle. And seeing his partner being the one to struggle with labels - whereas he's made peace with them.

And by having their affection shift more into playful - that was just because I think it's really funny. Hobie's a little shit.

All of this allows Diane and Hobie's relationship to be something based on mutal care and admiration for each other - rather than lust and clear-cut commitment.

They're able to be independent people, with independent lives and beliefs, while still being a large part of the other's life. They're able to excecise freedom in their situation, while still having an underlying conflict or struggle driving their story.

Hobie and Diane deeply care about and love each other, multiverse be damned. And even if they may not always see eye-to-eye, they're willing to put that aside if it means they have a chance at a peaceful future together - no matter what universe they're in.

They're not conventional, but they're in love. Cause I said so.

Presenting Phyrstinnei'Draa xund Maydabreena xund Celneiune of House Vineld, Divine Soul Sorcerer and eventual Hexblade Warlock

LORE BASICS

Campaign: Out of the Abyss. Phyrnei began the campaign, not as a prisoner, but as a visitor to the Outpost who contributed to setting up the prison escape, hoping to forge an alliance with Jorlan Duskryn to seize the oppurtunity of his grudge against Illvara Mizzrym. This plan went to shit immediately as the Outpost was attacked by Chasme demons.

Name: Phyrstinnei'Draa roughly translates to Blessed Clan Wish, while 'Draa indicates shes the secondborn daughter of her House. This full name is only used in formal circumstances, and typically the middle suffix is dropped, much like the middle name is in America. This is something me and my DM decided on, given how middle suffixes are sporadically used in Drow naming conventions. House Vineld (translate: Tenders of the Arcane) venerates Phyrnei's grandmother as the Matron Mother who stabilized the Houses current social standing and set them on their current path of slowly rising prominence, so when introducing herself, Phyrnei gives recognition to the two generations before her (her mother Maybreena and her grandmother Celune)

Class: Divine Soul Sorcerer. Phyrnei was born with two exceedingly rare physical traits for a drow, having inherited her grandmothers brilliant copper hair, and being born with vivid purple eyes. Upon being born, Phyrnei immediately displayed blessed omens marking her as a powerful Divine sorcerer. These combination of traits led House Vineld to conclude that Phyrnei's birth was a blessing heralded by Lolth's favor, gracing the family (who, until that point, had yet to produce a powerful priestess and had subsisted off of the strength of their familys male wizards as desirable consorts, agents, and advisors), and Phyrnei was raised and cherished as a blessed symbol of the family's potentially shifting fortunes if they seized this oppurtunity. Recent events have given Phyrnei cause to speculate whether her sorcerous origin is truly a blessing from Lolth, or if another Divine figure is showing her favor...

Background: Acolyte. Phyrnei was raised to value familial duty above all, and despite being the House's cherished blessing, the luxuries and leniences she was spoiled with never took precedence over the responsibility she held to raise the House's standing and ensure its propserity. To that end, owing to her Divine ability, she was raised venerating Lolth and tutored in the appropriate Rites and rituals. Upon coming of age, she studied in Arach Tinilith, where her particular combination of a strong academic arcanic background, alongside a powerful Divine influence made her a perfect fit for the study of Demonology and the ritual summoning of Lolth's servants from the Demonweb Pits.

Background Extra: During her time in Arach Tinilith, Phyrnei formed a passive-aggressive rivalrly with @arach-tinilith's own Naadja Duskryn, though Phyrnei was careful never to escalate hostilities with such a notable member of a higher House. Phyrnei herself considered Naadja positively as a worthy rival to keep her skills sharp and on edge, and enjoyed their little spats, and as far as she knows, Naadja considered her the same (she does not.) While Naadja graduated as Valedictorian, before being swept up in the dangerous drama of inter House politics, Phyrnei herself graduated with the dignity and honor she owed her House, but did not distinguish herself to the same degree Naadja did, and did not achieve Valedictorian status. Phyrnei shamelessly namedropped her association with Naadja to Jorlan at the beginning of OotA to help forge an alliance.

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral. Phyrnei's home life was... unusual, compared to most Noble born Menzoberranzan Drow. Firstly, the stability of her House's position rested primarily on the skill of the House's sons more than the daughters, as House Vineld makes its living by training powerful wizards skilled in arcane magic. While it's given them stability, its an incredible tenous position, and the House strongly values duty and loyalty, severely limiting interfamily conflict. The prevailing ethos is that the House cannot afford to lose any member of the family, who could find a way to contribute to their position, and thus Phyrnei's upbringing lacked both the dismissive attitude towards drow men AND the treachery and paranoia that so often marks noble birth in Menzo (though Phyrnei is familiar with both, immersed in Menzo's culture as she is). She has the Chaotic whimsy befitting a Divine Sorcerer bearing the hallmarks of Lolth's Blessing, but its tempered by her pragmatism. Similarly, while she certainly has the upbringing of a spoiled princess, and is self centered enough to prioritize her own well being, Phyrnei is both too dutiful and mindful of others to meaningfully commit to Evil (though she certainly isn't Good), and far far too curious of the world outside the city to allow the prejudiced superiority of Menzo's culture dig its roots in too deeply. At her core, Phyrnei is a curious, pragmatic individual raised in a toxic, treacherous culture, and while she doesn't yet have reason to shed Menzoberranzan's abusive power hungry culture, its primarily lip service as shes far too socially aware to shove her foot in her mouth in a survival situation where she has to rely on a diverse group of strangers to survive travelling the Underdark

Sexuality: Pansexual. Phyrnei's main flaw is her tendency towards Hedonism, and part of that is her long list of casual lovers, drawn in by her charisma. Despite this, she has yet to have a serious long term relationship, as her arranged Fiancé was assassinated and she has yet to be arranged another.

Family: Phyrnei has two older siblings (the eldest sister, set to inherit, and an elder brother), and then two younger siblings (a brother, and then the youngest is another sister). She was born in the House Vineld compound, and was raised knowing both her mother and her father. Everyone in the family gets along relatively well with Phrynei, and is affectionate with her, and she had a relatively happy childhood and made friends easily.

Though Phyrnei is currently unaware of it, her Divine Sorcerous power is actually through both Vhaerhaun and his sister Eilistraee. Both of them have begun to show their influence to Phyrnei as she journeys through the Underdark, and when she eventually becomes a Hexblade Warlock, her pact will be with a weapon from the two of them. Phyrnei was never blessed by Lolth, but Lolth took no steps to clarify this, as long as House Vineld continued to seek her favor to make the most of Phyrnei's auspicious birth.

PHUMPEEM

Dynamic: Alpha Peem/Omega Phum

Peem knows he is close to his rut when he wakes up exhausted. He is calm and relaxed in his daily life but he is bone dead when he enters pre-rut. The twenty-four hours before his rut are spent sleeping with a single text to whoever is closest (his parents, his Aunt Pui, Q, and eventually Phum). He has to have other people do the necessary preparations because his alpha instincts don't want to leave his den. The next time he wakes up it is rut time.

Predictably, Peem is full of energy during his rut. His body has stockpiled, and he wakes up bursting with energy and desire. His rut is the most energetic Peem ever is, and Phum was taken aback when he experienced it for the first time. The sex is rough, seemingly never-ending, and Phum has to incorporate eating and drinking into the foreplay for Peem to do it. When they are connected by Peem's knot, Peem naps on Phum and while it is uncomfortable Phum can't find himself angry as he watches his mate sleep.

At the end, Peem passes out for another twenty-four hours before he is back to his regular self.

Phum knows he is close to his heat when his body itches upon not having Peem in his eyesight. He is clingy, territorial, ridiculously so and won't let Peem leave their den, leave their nest. He pads after Peem like a lost puppy as Peem prepares them food and water and calls time off work, reaching for him and wrapping himself around. Peem can't get on the phone with Toey and Pun, because while Phum knows they have mates of their own they are still omegas and his pre-heat brain views them as reproductive threats. Once Peem has stalked their fridge, Phum drags him back to their nest and scent him until his coastal scent has vanished under vanilla and roses.

During his heat, Phum has lost his vocabulary. He lets out whimpers, whines, and other lewd sounds that drive Peem mad. It would send Peem into overdrive, but Phum is dominant while in heat. Riding has always been Phum's favorite sex position, but Phum's omega instincts utilize it a ridiculous amount as he uses Peem as his personal dildo. Peem has tried to flip their positions before, but Phum is stubborn and fought back like he did the first day they met. Ultimately, it doesn't matter as Peem gets to watch Phum's eyes glaze over and his face flush in real time.

At the end, Peem draws Phum a bath and washes him. He says Phum's thighs wouldn't hurt if he let Peem take charge, which only earns him a splash in return.

In the times they sync up, they've matched each other step for step pace for pace as they fuck around their den never a step apart. Dynamic: Alpha Q/Omega Toey

In case you weren't here for my initial Omegaverse headcanon post, I stated my own interpretation of the Omegaverse respects aromantic and asexual identities. Biology will not give aromantic people a scent, nor will they enforce heat/ruts on an asexual person. In case you aren't here for my entire We Are experience, I interpret Q as demiromantic and Toey as demisexual. Demi identities are a little more complex, but still respected. Essentially, a demiromantic person will obtain a scent after they become romantically attracted to someone and a demisexual person will obtain a heat/rut cycle when they become sexually attracted to someone. When the demi person falls out of romantic/sexual attraction those traits will shut off.

Something I did not mention was demisexuals have longer gaps between their heats/ruts. In typical Omegaverse, heats/ruts are meant to occur similar to periods in they happen in a cycle. Fortunately, I don't believe they are meant to happen as often as periods but in my interpretation of the Omegaverse they occur roughly every three to four months so four to three times a year. A demisexual person will experience them every six to nine months so two to one times a year.

That wasn't really relevant, I just had to lore dump. Anyways-

When it comes to his rut, Q is odd. Media will try to tell people all alphas and omegas lose their sense when they enter their cycles, but it simply isn't true. Unlike Peem, Q is conscious during his rut. He didn't have a scent for about two decades of his life, so no one noticed he was in a constant state of arousal. For Q, it was a week off with awkward boners so he would hole up in his place with the occasional masturbation. He prefers to spend it alone anyways.

Q knows he is close to his rut when he gets affectionate. He gets affectionate, not clingy, an important distinction to make as he doesn't latch onto someone like an overly cuddly octopus. Instead, he does touch and compliment his friends a little more, and he doesn't shrug off affection, even plays along, as he transitions into his rut. As mentioned, he spends the week off painting with occasional masturbation sessions.

Then Toey entered his life, and Toey is a little scared to spend Q's rut together. This is reasonable. Toey is an omega, and he has heard the horror stories about alpha ruts. However, Q spends the entire first day of his rut eating Toey out, coming untouched. They aren't limited to the nest, spending a few rounds in the bathtub, and by the time Q has knotted Toey for the first time Toey is relaxed and blissed out.

By the time it is all over, Q snuggles close to Toey and naps.

On the contrary, Toey's first heat was a bit of a disaster. While his omega instincts guided him to safety it was an embarrassing time so he doesn't know what he is like before heat. It turns out, pre-heat Toey is similar to drunk Toey in the way he gets sleepy. Unlike Peem, who is dead to the world from exhaustion, Toey is cuddly and slightly delirious. He curls around Q like an overly affectionate octopus, and Q strokes his hair as he falls asleep to preserves energy. At least, that is what Q assumes Toey is sleepy for.

In their usual sex life, Toey is a pillow princess. However, a Toey in heat becomes a pillow queen. He doesn't want to do anything and gets fussy when Q doesn't tend to his every need. Toey is embarrassed when it is all over, but Q finds him adorable. In an odd way, it reminds Q of the days before they got together where Toey would beg Q to teach him art and bait the alpha into touching him. Toey may not be able to say anything more than 'alpha' and 'more' but Q will give him whatever he wants with care and dirty talk.

After it is all over, Toey goes back to being an octopus. Q is right, the next time Toey wakes up he is immensely embarrassed.

They don't sync up often, but when they do it is soft. Q wants to take care of Toey, and Toey wants to be taken care of.

TANFANG

Dynamic: Alpha Tan/Alpha Fang

Fang didn't know it was possible, but Tan becomes even more affectionate when he enters his pre-rut. Correction, Tan is the one who is an octopus as he latches onto Fang and refuses to let him go. Fang has to convince Tan to bring them their phones so he may make the necessary arrangements for his rut. Fortunately, Tan is willing to do anything and everything when it comes to other preparations as long as Fang doesn't take a step from their bed.

When the time comes, Tan is a mix between Peem and Q. He is rough, the way both him and Fang like it, but he wants to take care of Fang for better or for worse. Fang doesn't need Tan's rough tongue rimming him, but he knows he needs more preparation as his body doesn't produce it naturally like an omega. Tan marks Fang up, and the first time they spend a rut together Fang walks out looking mauled. Afterwards, Fang incorporates a muzzle into Tan's ruts until he is ready to receive the mating bite. Tan doesn't care. A rut spent with Fang is a rut worth spending.

Afterwards, Tan continues to be overly affectionate. He sees how long he can go with it before Fang stops believing he is under the influence of rut. His record is forty-eight hours.

In a twist of fate, Fang becomes clingy and territorial in his pre-rut too. He doesn't allow Tan to leave their bed, he holds him down, similar insecurities he shares with his younger brother brought to the forefront and tripled by the fact he lays with another alpha rather than omega like his parents society demands. He needs Tan with him, so Tan makes the necessary arrangements from their bed.

When rut hits, Fang is all over Tan. Tan likes to mark Fang up, but Fang needs to mark Tan up until there is no part of him not covered in bites or claw marks. It is rough between them, the pain a reminder they are there together, and in another twist of fate Fang is the one to bite Tan. He is constantly biting Tan, drawing blood, renewing their connection every moment he can. It is a miracle neither of them have died from blood loss.

Afterwards, Fang is pleased. He is immensely pleased. There is a level of possessiveness in the omegaverse, and Fang and Tan have it in spades about the other but a small manageable amount.

The times they sync up, well, their sheets are stained red and they are wrapped up in the peaceful bliss they found in each other.

CHAINPUN

Dynamic: Beta Chain/Omega Pun

Betas don't have heats and ruts. They are normal people with one note scents who are expected to keep the world running while disregarded in favor of their alpha and omega peers. In many ways, Chain can't keep up with the stamina and energy demanded of Pun's heats, but he is going to try.

It helps Pun is snugly and affectionate before his heat. He is like this always, affectionate towards his friends and always touching Chain. The two were married/mated before their official marriage/mateship. However, since Pun has no distinct change between his regular behavior and his heat he does this fun thing where he doesn't set time before he enters it aside to prepare for the time off. To be fair, he is around Chain ninety-nine percent of the time and when he isn't he is around his friends so he is never in danger. It gives Chain a heart attack regardless as he rushes Pun back to his nest.

Honestly, Pun's personality never really changes. At most, he comes across as slightly drunk, sometimes high, but he is safe in his nest by the time pheromones cloud his judgement. Though, the first time he spent his heat with Chain he was in stunned awe similar to the way he reacted to their first kiss. He couldn't believe Chain was there, in his nest, rather than outside his door only bringing him water and food and ensuring he take care of himself. Of course, this is before he lunges at Chain overwhelmed by desire. It is all blurred, but Chain takes care of Pun like he always does and Pun is content.

This won't be controversial, ChainPun exchange bite marks the first heat after they get together. With the way they reacted and acted, those two were the first to get married too.

MICKMATT

Dynamic: Alpha Mick/Beta Matthew (Matt)

When Mick enters his rut, he is similar to Q. Mick is completely conscious for it, which is something he emphasizes to Matt. Matt, a beta, would probably be under the impression Mick would lose his sense like it is portrayed in the media. This would reassure Matt, as misinformation would cause him to believe Mick would see a beta beside him and reject him in favor of a random omega.

I am still torn on how I imagine Mick and Matt's sex life would be, whether it would be tender or rough. Regardless to me, MickMatt are the couple who have the most fun during their sex life (not to say the others don't but MIckMatt hits different for me) so Mick's rut would be no different. They would laugh through their mistakes, and cheer through their successes.

BONUS: BEER

Dynamic: Alpha Beer

There isn't much to say about Beer since I waver on him, but I imagine he is like Q and Mick in the fact he is conscious for his rut. I imagine him as a caring lover too, but still fairly rough.

So, I’ve been heeming and hawing on how I want to write this, and I may end up changing a few things or my wording over time as my thoughts and opinions on it change. Fair warning, this post is a bit ramble-y lololol

Appearance for Loong!Reader in my fics-

Now I want to start off first by clarifying that I will always keep Reader’s appearance somewhat vague in my writings. This is because if I add too much to an appearance or even personality for a reader/self-insert, then it makes it more difficult for readers themselves to connect with the writing and place themselves into the story (arguably the whole point of reader-insert fics). So I will be giving a general description of what I imagine Loong!Reader looks like when I write, but I won’t be going into descriptions of what reader’s human form looks like, because I believe that should be left up to interpretation for fic readers to insert themselves into the story.

Honestly, Lotus (my nickname for Loong!Reader), is a self-insert/OC that I want to purposely leave vague so others can insert themselves into her role. Certain aspects of her appearance (notably her dragon and anthro forms) will have certain descriptions because I want to enunciate her dragon features and how inhuman she actually is, but I will always try my best to leave some room for interpretation for you all to join in on the fun! That is why this post will not include traits for her human form.

Another note however - While a majority of my fics with Wukong (including ones with Loong!Reader) will follow this line of thinking, I do write first and foremost for myself and what I would like to read in a fic with Wukong. This means there will be fics and writing choices that are completely self-indulgent for myself and may not be to everyone’s taste. An example: I am a thicker/chubbier girly, so some fics will have an emphasis on such a trait (and I will add giant dragon titties if I’m in a smutty mood. I don’t care that they’re reptiles and don’t have/need mammary glands, I have big titties and I want to smother Wukong’s face into them while he pounds me. Made up biology of a fictional species will not stand in my way). This does not mean that I refuse to write other traits though! I am always happy to get requests and fic ideas and I will write for specific traits if mentioned, but this does not mean I will do so every time. I write what makes me happy or interests me, this is something I do in my free time to relax and have fun.

Now with all that boring stuff out of the way, on to the descriptions!

Lotus is a Loong dragon through and through! This means the typical traits are applied to her. Long scaled body, no wings, fur lining the head and a tuft of fluff at the end of the tail, antlers and long wiggly whiskers on her snout! I call her Lotus because the general theme around her is, what else, lotus flowers and water lilies! I have always loved these types of flowers because of their symbolism and resilience in the world. Lotus specifically is inspired by the Sacred Lotus (also known as the Indian Lotus).

The way these flowers are incorporated into her design is through color scheme and small details. I took a lot of inspiration for these ideas from traditional Loong art, and most specifically from the Black Myth Wukong series. The way they bring Loong dragons to life is just…*chefs kiss*. 

(I especially took inspiration from Chen Loong in the painted world. For…reasons. Very specific reasons.)

An example of these details I’m talking about: On Loong dragons, the jaw line typically has either fins or hard protruding scales that have fur/hair growing under them and out towards the neck. For Lotus, I imagine them to be hard protruding scales/bone that have an elegant curve to them resembling a lotus petal. Her fur/hair itself is very fluffy and voluminous, puffing out and curving like the petals as well, and feels incredibly silky to the touch. Her antlers are still pointed and can do damage, but they do have more elegant branches that almost resemble the long roots of a plant. (I’ve honestly debated the fun idea of having actual flowers grow from the antlers, but I haven’t committed to it. Maybe for a one-off fic idea? Who knows.)

Her color scheme is a soft white body, with a darker - nearly black - underbelly. As the black leaves the belly scales it blends into the white for a soft gray ombre. On her extremities she has hints of soft pink, specifically the pink you see on the Sacred Lotus itself, or the shade from light pink peaches (for obvious reasons tied to our darling monkey-).

This pink is found on things like the tips of her claws, a light dusting in places where a blush would show like the cheeks and throat, the tip of her tail, etc. Now I probably won’t ever mention her eye color in a fic because I tend to flip-flop on it. We could go with a yellow/gold to refer to the yellow inner center of the Sacred Lotus, or we could go with a deep vivid green resembling the leaves and pads that the flower grows with. I like both honestly.

Now I do imagine, and will be writing more, about Lotus taking on a more anthropomorphized form at some points - this form is very much inspired by Black Myth Wukong, I absolutely adore how they made Chen Loong take on a slightly more human appearance for ease of access but kept all of his amazing dragon qualities on display. The curving long neck, the stance of his body and his tail constantly flicking and sawing behind him-

Lotus looks extremely similar to Chen Loong when in this form. She has her own color scheme and flower related details of course, but when I write that she “shifts into a smaller form” I am imagining something like what Chen Loong looks like.

I do also have ideas for future fics where Lotus goes into ultimate survivor mode and needs to unleash her powers and kick ass, and I do have some ideas for it, but nothing concrete enough to actually add to here yet. Thanks for sticking through all my rambling to the end, hopefully this gives a more clear picture of what I imagine when I'm writing my fics, without alienating y’all too much.

Woo okay, because I like designing ocs as it’s fun and doesn’t take too much energy so here’s my basilisk oc… number 3!!

…Aka the poor guy who got her organs harvested by Belos in order to use in the making of Pip.

Even though they’re straight up dead and have been dead for years I still love his design and vibe.

She’s a similar type of basilisk to Vee, this is important as that specific type of basilisk has extremely strong magic draining rate.

Vee and 3 did know each other, but Vee was really young. They met each other during experiments that they had to do together in order have their magic draining rate tested and compared at the same time to see which one had the fastest speed, uh 3 won most of the times they did this which is unfortunately why he ended up basically being a sacrificial lamb

To make this even more horrific fun

Some traits of 3 still ended up in Pip or well mostly his curse, obviously physically like the ears, tail floof shape and splotchy patterns as well as his red irises rather than the typical grimwalker magenta but also bits and pieces of personality/mannerism

Though Pip can’t copy other people but his curse is able to mimic voices/ sounds it hears perfectly which it uses to hunt/ trick people because of the basilisk parts being mixed in

it’s as smart as a parrot but in the way where it can repeat stuff for specific people and kinda knows what context to use it for though you’re not able to have a full conversation with it as it won’t understand anything

This really freaks Vee out when she first saw Pip in his full cursed form and it started copying 3s voice screaming in pain. (Its not got the memories of 3 or anything, its a split off part of Belos’s curse who would have heard 3s screams from when Belos vivisected her for fresh parts)

Pip later had to awkwardly explain to Vee that he has no control of it and is its own thing separate from him.

Vee is convinced it’s messing with her mentally especially as it does similar stuff to Hunter by using Belos’s voice randomly at 5 am to scare him awake.

It is very much messing with her and Hunter for its idea of funnies but this backfires hard on it as every time it takes over Pip it gets locked into the backyard like a dog (this actually makes it stop doing the creepy voice stuff after a couple times because it hates being outside in the cold.)

On a lighter note I can’t un-see how 3 looks kinda like the Salmonids from splatoon, that was completely un-intentional and I only realised like a while ago that he reminds me of them lmao

Ra'el's personality/aesthetic

Uh, well, when she was created I knew two things about her - that she was going to be a warlock - so her main ability is charisma, and that she was going to be inappropriately curious (it was an excuse to try weird decisions and stay in character lol).

So from the first one came the fact she is a compulsive liar - usually her lies are not calculating or well thought out, she just chooses the version that suits her at the time and it rarely has to do with reality. People tend to believe it anyway. Although she has one rule - she doesn't break her promises. Once she decides to make a real promise, she will try to fulfil it, at any cost and by any means. Of course, what is a 'real promise' is up to her.

From the second comes most of her reckless decisions (romancing Astarion included lol). In fact, most of the important choices in her life have been made on impulse, either from the aforementioned curiosity or the consequences of it. She is hopeless, though both of these traits tone down in her as she gains age, experience and wisdom thankfully.

As for the aesthetics - I think it's quite typical for a tefling-warlock. She takes care of the 'witchy' nature of her look, with an inclination to some lavishness and elegance too. She wears mainly black, red and gold (originally it was going to be black, green and gold, but well, she had a different idea). She prefers pants for utility reasons but for Astarion she sometimes puts on dresses. She doesn't have a consistent hairstyle, except she is always a redhead and always at least a tad dishevelled.

My favourite thing about her

It's probably her - I don't know how exactly to name it - stubbornness? Ruthlessness? Once she decides something is important to her or her loved ones, she will do anything to achieve it. Literally anything. She'll kill, she'll deceive, she'll build a financial pyramid scheme to take money out of the partiar's pockets. That's why she spent years looking for a way to 'cure' vampirism (much more actively than Astarion, of course) and ended up sacrificing almost everything, including her magic, to achieve it.

Same goes when someone does her or her loved ones wrong. She doesn't forget. And she will have her revenge eventually. Be warned, vampire and warlock haters.

Fun fact

I don't know if it's really funny, but her real name isn't Ra'el but Amalia Millstone, which she found far too common and unfancy for a powerful warlock (which she wasn't yet, but intended to be). So, for the sake of building her brand, she came up with a name that sounds like an abbreviation for something mysterious and hellish - but she never worked out what name it was from. Every time someone asked her, she'd come up with a fancy new name, like Razephinel, Ramizanael and such, never even bothering to remember it because no one noticed. Astarion was the first who did.

Sorry for the wall of text and the old pic, but all her saves were lost with the new patches. Sounds like a necessity to replay her for a third time after patch 8, I guess.

Della, the Blessed Seer

Della is one of my ancient MCD ocs who I'm making canon to my rewrite :) since it seems like i'm in a "Talking about my rewrite" mood, particularly the jury, figured I might as well tell yall a lil about her.

She's a young woman, probably in her early 20s, with tanned skin and dark hair and green eyes. She's short in stature and has an average build. She typically wears a headscarf for religious reasons, like many others in her deeply religious hometown. It was a happy accident that her headscarf also covers up her pointed ears, a trait inherited from her witch father.

She was born with a natural inclination towards magic, also thanks to her witch ancestry, and most prominently she began receiving prophetic visions in early childhood. Her mother told her that she was blessed by Enki, god of magic, but that she needed to keep it a secret. Della took her mother's word, doing her best to keep her powers hidden. All good things must come to an end however, and her secret was revealed when she had a prophecy of her mother's death, and tried everything she could to prevent it to no avail; in her grief, she revealed everything, gift of prophecy included.

Word traveled fast across Ru'an, and before long the then-High Priest of Irena offered her a position in the Jury, saying she could help countless people with her prophecies. Scared and now alone, she accepted, and became the youngest ever Juror.

Zane took over the position as High Priest shortly after Della's own induction into the Jury, and seeing the benefit of having a prophet in the Jury, allowed her to stay. Being so young, she was easy for the O'khasian upper class to manipulate, and as such she would follow whatever orders given to her, too afraid of being accused of treason and being executed as a traitor. She served the Jury under Zane for many years, until one day Zane left O'khasis and never returned.

He was presumed dead, and just as Della had feared the outraged people of O'khasis branded her as a traitor to her nation, claiming the she was either a fraud, or had prophesized Zane's disappearance and deliberately didn't say anything. Mass hysteria overcame the people, and to appease them, she was publicly executed not even a month after Zane's presumed death.

Wally's preference: (This is mostly for those who want to ship their OCs with Wally.) His type of romantic partners are the ones that can kick his ass or are just kickass baddies. It's one of the quickest ways to win his heart. beside sharing the same interests and food. 

He has a big sweet tooth, so he eats a lot of sugary drinks and foods. Bro needs those calories because his metabolism is whack. He likes milkshakes, sugary coffee drinks, battery acid (the drink), cakes, donuts, and the like. 

He typically likes hard candy because it dilutes in his mouth, and he hates chocolate. He doesn't really like how they taste. especially dislike chocolate by themselves. He isn't a fan of gummies, as he can't consume them properly (he can't really consume solids through his mouth). Btw, Wally can eat through his eye (like the og), but he has a habit of biting, sucking the flavor or juices, then leaning his head back and spitting it in the air. which hell then eat with his eyes to properly get the nutrients? Idk why I thought of this, but I want my wallys to share traits with the OG Wally.

He likes mint candies as they hide (or mask) his smoker's breath.

Now, he doesn't take any drugs of any kind, aside from the medications his home gives him. Also, yeah, Home acts as his caretaker, making sure Wally doesn't end up getting himself killed by getting injured badly (Wally can get very badly injured at some of his fights). He doesn't take drugs, mostly due to the fact that he was pumped full of drugs in his teen years, and any recreational drugs like weed will give him a bad trip and just a bad time in general. No pharmacological drugs work on him because his body practically grew resistant to them. He refuses to do coke or meth, cuz no.

Also, the meds home give him are kind of strange cuz, 1, they can't be bought from seeming anywhere. 2. Home just seems to have a huge supply of them (not sure if I want to have home be the one making them or something). and 3, the meds are kind of scary as they make the person feel no physical pain, and weirdly enough, they seem to help relieve it as well. But the meds come with a warning (somehow it has a warning, idk) that says they are very easy to overdose on and are highly addictive. Thankfully, at home, make sure to keep Wally in check for his medications.

He likes bright, guady, colors, and fashion. Also, like alt fashion, most things are similar to punk and scenekid. He doesn't like plain white or pastels, as they remind him of the insane asylum. And he just doesn't really like soft colors or plain fashion. He likes it extreme so that he is stimulated. also doesn't do well when he has nothing to do, especially when it's quiet and calm, because he then feels like he's going insane.

He has fears of needles, being restrained, and being alone (again because of his past). Unfortunately, despite not really being a mean person at heart, he does have some anger issues (understandable so) and will at times push some boundaries, but never intentionally. but he's not afraid to insult those who kind of deserve it.

He is very affectionate with his loved ones and will shower them with love once his feelings are reciprocated (this applies both romantically and plantonically). Sometimes he gets a bit too excited about love and gets into the habit of biting. but if he is told not to do that again, he won't bite again. He respects his partners or friends boundaries and won't cross them.

but he does have a bit of a possessive side to him (which is kind of feuled by his parionoa, need for affection, and care). 

For one, he will keep an eye on them but never fully follow them around. Just whenever paths cross, he will definitely have his attention on them. He'll keep little tracks of information on them, and if ever he is invited to their place, even once, he will memorize the path. but only in case he needs to drag them back home after getting drunk or something. (He had too much experience with not knowing where to bring his drunk friends.) He will attempt to put a "tracker" (aka a little doodle of an eye or a swirl) and watch through it. So this way, he always has his eyes on them. This does come in handy when some of his friends get jumped, and he will then come running to help.

In terms of romantic relationships, he does have boundaries. Hes fine with a crazy and obessive partner, just not to the point where they try to hurt anyone who is close to Wally (does not like yanderes). But if he realizes he entered a relationship based on a lie, was used, abused, or is dating a friend's sibling (happened with Eddie's sibling Daisy), he will end the relationship.

Here it is: the results of my “Let’s Make a Troll OC” post :)

Can you tell I’ve never even attempted to draw a classical troll before TTuTT I’ll be honest, I was kind of worried when I saw the genre was to be classical, as I’ve never drawn a classical troll before, and they definitely seem like the most difficult genre of troll to design uniquely, but in the end, I’m actually pretty happy with how this came out!!

They’re named Crochet, after the British term for a quarter rest, a crochet rest. Quarter notes/rests are the inspiration for their wings as well (since it seems like the typical classical troll wings are based on the bass clef, but I wanted to mix it up with some other symbols instead).

I’m quite pleased with the fact that the colors I was given mixed with the natural colors of classical trolls as a whole resulted in a vaguely nonbinary color scheme. It just worked out perfectly :’)

Quirk: Floral Axolotl

This unique power allows the user to control and generate various types of flowers while possessing regenerative capabilities reminiscent of an axolotl. Sakura can rapidly heal injuries and even regenerate lost body parts, making them a resilient and nature-infused force.

Drawbacks include polydipsia and require her to stay hydrated more often than the typical person. If she overuses her quirk, she experiences extreme dehydration, any generated flowers may wither, and she begins to get light-headed. Additionally, it takes a lot of energy to regenerate full limbs, compared to just a finger, hand, or foot. And can wear her out if she has to too often.

OC Origins

Rules: post the origins of a few OCs!

These will be long because I over-explain, so I'm just doing Lexi and Maddie.

Lexi

Lexi was the first character I made for TSP back in Spring 2013. Her name was originally Alexia Redinés and she looked exactly like me but she had longer hair (which she wore in braids). She wore a red dress and was 10 years old. TSP was originally a school project where we had to write a 2+ page fictional story in the first person. We planned the story alongside the narrator, so that's why Alexia was created first. She didn't have much personality to speak of, but you can find the original TSP here. Alexia was a bit of a Mary Sue, as typical of self-inserts especially considering how young I was. Her surname became Morgan in just Draft Two, she started to occasionally be called Lexi in Draft Three, and the nickname became permanent in Draft Four. However, in the weird time between Drafts 1-2, I think her surname was Sparks. She always had teleportation, though it originally appeared as pink, not teal - it wasn't teal until Draft Four. Lexi was aged up to 13 in Draft Three, where it stayed until technically Draft Five where her birthday wasn't until the end of Part One. I also got rid of her glasses. Lexi began to gain more personality in Draft Four, where she slowly started to deviate from her original Mary Sue self-insert, until Draft Five where she got a complete makeover in her personality. Now, she's more extraverted, organized, confident, and observant - some of these traits happened in Draft Four during her Drift, and were just not emphasized until Draft Five. Draft Five is also when I changed her design: I tweaked Lexi's race to give her Sector 9 heritage (equivalent to Native American - in her case Cherokee and Comanche backgrounds), I grew out her bangs and gave her braids to play with instead, I changed her magenta hoodie to a yellow one (at least what she wears for most of Part One - the magenta one does make an appearance, and it was heather gray at one point), and gave her boots and gloves.

Maddie

Maddie was created a short time after Lexi. In Draft One, she was a minor character - Lexi's 8-year-old sister named Kelly. Kelly would have been the central character in the second installment - then called The Next Sorcerer, though I haven't found this yet. Kelly looked like my own sister with longer hair (which she wore in a high ponytail) originally, and she also didn't have much of a personality. I think she wore a regular T-shirt and shorts which was her wardrobe for a while. Her original powers were a specific form of telepathy where she could create telepathic links between two or more people. In Draft Two, my sister objected that "her character" was named Kelly and recommended the name Zarina (which they got from Tinker Bell Pirate Fairy movie) which I immediately shut down. So they went with Madison. I settled on the name Maddie almost immediately. Although she originally requested telepathy, she now wanted Maddie to have animal morphing, which I obliged. Maddie was aged up alongside Lexi to be eleven in Draft Three, her surname became Morgan at the same time Lexi's did of course, and she didn't have much personality either until around the same time. Draft Two Maddie, who narrated the second book, was actually a little whiny, though I'm not sure how intentional this was on my part. In Draft Four, I tried my best to write Maddie in a different way, though deep into writing Part Two, I realized Maddie was a Mary Sue - much more than Lexi used to be. I realized Maddie received no consequences for her actions and rewrote a large chunk of the book to include it. Draft Five, whose biggest difference from Four was character, was where Maddie saw a huge shift in personality. Obviously her ethnicity changed, and I also gave her much longer hair. Her hair became longer than it used to be in Draft Four, but in Draft Five I had it down past her hips. Her glasses disappeared in Draft Four I believe. Her wardrobe switched to overalls, though she kept boots and her color palette. Personality-wise, Maddie became more scientifically-minded, more physical, more inquisitive, etc. I also made her autism-coding intentional.

I'm in humor so I'll keep babbling about the theme from the post before! Because it cheers me up to gush about the things I like (and I hope this can make someone feel equally valid if they share the same likes as me).

I think I paired characters with Size Difference since forever, even before knowing that was a category for such. Mostly platonic at the start (before I knew I was aroace and that there was nothing criminal in seeing romance on such), with a typical team-up of wacky casts.

Actually, I got a bunch between my OCs: Specthor/Wasabi (an eldritch horror detective and a kappa shrine maiden), for example, are my favorite. They are both old spirit entities (centuries for Spec, millennia in the case of Wabi), with obvious physical traits and aesthetics that clash (Spec is made of rotten dark matter, Wabi is made and works with holy/healing elements) and still, they find a way to impact each others lives. The heck: I even translated their dynamic into a Human!AU, I cherish them a ton!

I mostly delve into these dynamics because they give me so much comfort I crave: the idea of being embraced, carried, and just cherished by someone else that looks powerful but tries to take you with care is so appealing to my brain... Funny, irl I'm quite a touch-repulsed person; I'm well aware of my short stature, which can put me at a disadvantage; I'm not pursuing it at all irl.

But for that reason, knowing fiction is safe, why not give it a chance at least in this space? I'm always in control of it. It scratches an itch without the need to risk real emotional ties. That's enough for me.

For that same reason, I try to portray the smaller one having the upper hand over the bigger one most of the time! Or being more mischievous, bolder or defiant (stuff I explored a ton multiple times on my TF fanart as shown in those examples linked).

Tho, lately I'm trying to turn the tables a bit, mostly with OCxCanon/Selfshipping characters, because sometimes my favs aren't exactly made to be the one to comfort but could use to have someone on their same level instead... or have someone to put them in place with how unstable they are pfff.

I think I had nothing more to add, just that fantasy is such a cool thing that exists, and everyone can make the most of it! Yeah, the world out there is scary, but we have nothing to fear in the realm of the mind (as always, doing it with moderation). And who knows: you can end up learning something new about yourself during the process.
