hi everyone! i'm writing a research based essay on the popularity of queer tragedies in the market today for my creative writing masters and it would be a huge help if you could fill this out! it's very quick, shouldn't take more than five minutes to complete the eight multiple choice questions and it's all based on preference/opinion, so nothing too taxing to think about. every response is a huge help for me, so signal boosts would be really appreciated! thank you <3
#sjlwrites#every response means more data for me to analyse which means more depth to my analysis which gets me closer to a distinction!#so pretty please take five minutes out of your day to click a couple of boxes :))))#for uni

now that 2.4's done, time to move onto 2.6. i'm gonna be honest, i do kinda dread watching it at the fear of not truly understanding the story and the themes because i have not a single lick of knowledge about latin american literature and all the other things that entail 2.6 and whatever aleph's got going on with the prison
#certified storm moments#i've been consuming a good bit of r1999 analyses and i've never felt so out of my depth with it lmao#people know me as the shitpost and maybe even the funny story reactions guy and i do that because. god i feel like that orc meme whenever#i try parsing through the rr1999 story sorry.#i guess i feel a sort of.... jealousy to people completely in their realm when it comes to the topics and real life history that the#game is referencing?#i'm neither literature buff nor history buff which are the two main things this game prides itself on#should i put this on the tag? sure why not#reverse 1999

Wanting to make a fun post about Mu Qingfang and bedside manners, but lwk getting deterred by my own experiences with doctors and like, the world of PIDW and SVSSS as a whole. Bc like, I feel like MQF would obviously be involved with a lot of patients on Qian Cao Peak, but can’t be personally involved with all of them. So we can look at how MQF treats fellow Peak Lords and other patients that are treated in the books etc etc.
Imagining the Peak Lords as patients and MQF’s bedside manners in regards to them each respectively is like, already making me facepalm. Not bc i doubt the bedside manners tho lol
#beepbeeped#svsss#scum villian self saving system#mu qingfang#cang qiong mountain sect#peak lords#listen all I wanted was to make a silly post based on an experience I had#but it would be out of character#and I would want to know more in depth about every peak lord and their relation to each other and blah blah#analyses till the end#😔 god#like I just want to know how MQF would treat their fellow peak lords yk#long tags

oki so there have been a lot of rambles about the recontextualization of the warriors album to actually be hopeful and be more in favor with grassroots communities and actually giving meaning to struggle and all that - but I admittedly hadn't considered why the source material did not hold these themes in the first place! which led to me thinking about how couple of warrior tumblr peeps here have talked about the historical context of the warriors movie itself and the grassroots communities at the time!
with that I think it is highly important to emphasize here that the warriors film was made in the 70's. this period had also been described as rather bleak in terms of crime rates and the like and the height of new york gangs - so, it is to no wonder that the film took the "Violence Is Wrong All Your Efforts Are Not Worth This" route with the warriors film bros having nothing left but the coney sunrise to appease their tired hearts. That's what the film wanted to convey I presume: that Violence is Hopeless, Peace Is Optimal. Which, is a basic take - a moral take in the most basic of senses, but ultimately conservative in nature.
however, as @threetrenchcoatsinatrenchcoat emphasizes in their rambles, radical means grasping things at the root. so where did lmm and eisa (!!!!!) look to? The story untold about the 70's - a story of gangs being community servants rather than ruffians, wanting more than just the rumble. A story of struggle amidst crime from those among you and those in powder blue. A story that emphasizes why gangs from the marginalized - and the cultural revolution that inspired the main fucking medium in which this story is told - exist in the first place: in the name of resistance, in the name of hope.
That's perhaps the biggest diversion the album now brings to the table in transforming a machismo gang film that's clearly dated into something timeless for it is made with the perspectives of the marginalized in mind, those that most understand that, ultimately, to hope is to resist - something that those up above can never immediately comprehend.
#anyways this was fun i gotta get to school now#but yea i am enjoying all of the analyses on the topic of Why Does The Warriors Album Exist#Why Are The Diversions Made#what is the sheer depth or the recontextualization and all that#and to put it simply - it added the most radical thing you could ever dream of in situations like these: sympathy and hope#warriors album#warriors musical#warriors#lin manuel miranda#eisa davis

the butterfly symbolism
we've all seen the plethora of butterfly symbolism attatched to viktor and jayce, but what does it symbolise?
butterflies represent many things, but the main two i think are most connected to jayce and viktors arc, especially for s2 are transformation and rebirth
viktors transformation is pretty self-explanitory: from mostly healthy to dying in s1, fusing with the hexcore and becoming quite literally jesus in s2. his followers are also 'reborn' during their miracle transformations.
jayce's transformation has been less obvious up until now, but he slowly grew from scientist through and through to politician/ councillor. science for the betterment of peoples lives being currupted for piltovers gain. then in s2 he gets trapped in the wild rune, and when he comes out he's not all there, borderline possessed. i personally think the flashes that keep passing through him is his subconscious trying to break free.

**Wincest fans DNI, because apparently I have to say that now.**
Upon discussing the rumor that Jensen Ackles was going to play Batman at... some point, my friend and I decided to cast the people of Gotham as according to the vibes we get from the SPN cast, both in and outside of their plots on the show. Here are our final thoughts:
- Just getting it out of the way, we have no idea where Misha goes. He's too powerful for anything we could think of. The idea of him playing Catwoman just so he would have to play Jensen's love interest (again. cough) was tossed around but never came to fruition.
- Jensen is Batman, obviously.
- Jared is the Joker. I will not elaborate. (Jared stans please don't k- [gunshots])
- Mark Sheppard is Penguin. We couldn't figure out why, but the vibes of Penguin well matched those of both Mark and Crowley.
- Mark Pellegrino is Scarecrow. Ngl I am afraid of this man. But I think he could do this.
- Richard Speight Jr. plays the Riddler. I do not have to explain this. The man has whimsy and riddling written all over his face
- Alexander Calvert plays Dick, but he also plays Jason, but he also plays Tim, but he also plays Damien. Whenever there is a wet pathetic Robin boy, he is played by Alex. If the Robin in question is shown as a child (e.g. A scene showing Dick's parents' deaths) he will still be played by Alex, but he gets sized down in post. NOTE - He is never edited to look younger, just smaller.
- Julien Richings plays Alfred. He will be good at portraying the handling of Jensen/Bruce's petulant bat-doings. I'm sure of it.
- Ruth Connell is Harley Quinn, and Emily Swallow is Poison Ivy. Doing our part for sapphics everywhere Idk
- We couldn't decide on a character for Rob Benedict, but he has to be in there somewhere. My personal suggestion was that he plays every background character. Every single one. There's a no-name guy running a hot dog stand? Rob. An old woman getting mugged? Rob. The angry ski-mask-wearing man mugging her? Also Rob. This man is a spectacle to me and I want to do his image justice.
- We also couldn't find characters for Felicia Day or Alona Tal, but similarly, they do have to be there. Originally they were going to be HQ/PI, but we gave HQ to Ruth, because, like.. It's Ruth
- Last but not least, if Misha won't be playing Catwoman, she'll be played by Lauren Cohan.
This absolute shitpost is so dear to me and it's only inevitable that one day I'll finally crack and draw it. If you made it this far.. I don't know. Your commitment to the bit is appreciated just as much as our own, I suppose

The fun thing about the Crest system argument is that before Hopes, myself and others were pointing out how Edelgard's claims make no sense when held up to the various nobles we have in game. The Alliance was a big sticking point in this regard, it was only in the Kingdom where it seemed to exist but it was also tied to defending their lands. Then Hopes came out where Sylvain explained that yes, there is a Crest system… that the nobles ignore and do their own thing. Fodlan itself basically says no one follows the Crest system, so is it really that important that Edelgard removes it while consolidating power on herself?
Where in Nopes does Sylvain mention the Crust system?
Crust system is basically the Fodlan equivalent of inheritence laws, and not that different from a male/female/klingon primogeniture rule, legitimacy rule, or picking the most able "person" to inherit...
Especially since the "most able" notion is as variable as the contents of a teaspoon and Fodlan refuses to elaborate what kind of magical superpower each crest gives.
The Nabateans using hair dye in the War of Heroes make more sense than the crust "system"!
I remember Houses thought trying to push the "wah wah inheritence based on crusts bad" with Sylvain (or was it Dimitri?) saying that the crested heir inherits, and the others are disinherited or something? I haven't checked the jp version and if it is worded differently, but, come on.
We see Rufus and Gilbert, sure they don't inherit the ancestral seat/throne of the house (Gilbert's bro is the baron, and Rufus is salty bcs Lambert got the throne), and yet they're not left in the boonies, are we really supposed to believe that both Rufus and Gilbert didn't get a penny, a house, titles (Gilbert became a knight) or anything for inheritance? Disinherited Rufus would never have became a grand duke (unless Dimitri's grandma was from Itha so Rufus took the inheritance from his mom?) or have lived a relatively more privileged life than Ashe and be free to "seduce around".
Jury's out about whether Glenn had a crust or not, and yet, Glenn got a fiancée and is always highly spoken of by his dad - not something you'd do for a kid you disinherit!
So, what were Sylvain (or Dimitri?) talking about in Houses?
Or were they full of shit to pretend there is a "system" that exists but isn't applied anywhere in the land, so it's totes important to get rid of it and make "ReFoRmS" and in the end, Supreme Leader wasn't totally in the wrong and had some good ideas, but please don't ask more about those ideas or what the "most competent" means to her, especially since Bernie in her solo ending in CF (just like in the other routes) can rule her territory ?
We don't see Hector crying a river because Uther is the Lord and not him, or Eirika doing the same (even if it would have been better for Magvel lol) just like Tana, hell, Elincia's dad didn't want to create an inheritence feud between his daughter and Renning so he hid her, and when Renning returns in FE10, he's not throwing a fit because he should have become King instead of his niece, and what not.
Hell, Desmond wanting to make Guinivere Queen wasn't a move to empower her or to shit on Zeph, but ultimately, a move he pulled off because of his own insecurities at being a worthless King compared to his son.
In Fodlan? Tana - after Innes' death at the hands of her accomplices - starts a war to conquer Magvel to get rid of male primogeniture.
And to make this less stupid than it sounds, the devs insist that Magvel's primogeniture laws are very bad and ruin a ton of lives in the continent which would justify killing Ross and Garcia because they're sacrifices to be made for the greater good.
Yeah :/
I'm not playing this version of FE8.
#fantasyinvader#replies#crust system#iirc a friend tried to analyse what was that notion in depth#like what made it systemic and what not#and the results were... that well the so called system has so many exceptions and examples seen in the game that#you'd be hard pressed to see a case where it's actually put in place#especially since Fodlan refuses to give siblings to characters or even bastard sibs#ferghus is the one with the most crested heirs#and the game tries to give a reason : crests are used to wield weapons and ferghus needs to defend itself against invasions#and yet it also gives us children who weren't born with a crust who aren't randoms or living in the sewers#Adrestia has Caspar#idk if he was written off because he is not the oldest son or because he has no crust#but thing is between Caspar Rufus Gilbert and Holst none of them are in the same situation because of their lack of crest#ffs Holst is Duke Goneril in Nopes despite not having a crest#even September 2019 players could see something was wrong with the fandom beloved crust system#it hasn't changed at all#CF replaces it with nepotism lol#I mean Prime Minister Manu is a thing

Hi! i saw your post about Judge Dredd and while I was never into it i AM into Anthrax and painted a band tee for my dad who is ALSO into anthrax. I just messed up and painted Judge Death instead of Dredd;;

I do wanna get into Judge Dredd I just have no idea where to start, any pointers?
Tbh having Judge Death there makes it even cooler.
Oh man the way I got into it was my dad who regaled me with a bunch of lore, watching Dredd (2012), and then watching a bunch of YouTube analysis videos and then reading the Judge Dredd Apocalypse War arc and continued from there.
For a less wild way to go about it, the Case Files are a good way to go. I haven’t collected any yet but from what I know things start to get better after case file 2 and case file 5 is one most folks rec to start on. Additionally; Judge Dredd: Origins. Judge Dredd: America. Dredd vs Death. And Judge Dredd: Apocalypse War are all highly recommended reads. Kinda sorta in that order. Tbh I mainly reccomend reading from Complete Case Files #2 onwards. They are collections throughout the years of all of his comics. This sorta comic you can read linearly and it isn’t a hassle.
Wonderful choice in music, GREAT art, and happy reading!!
#bones replies#bones comic recs#you can purchase these digitally p cheaply it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg like most comics do#I’d reccomend watching some analyses videos first. the context of Judge Dredd with the politics of the time it was made and more adds a#lot of depth and enjoyment in reading if you know the context imo#I started in Not The Best Way but that’s how comics work tbh

in regards to jimmy
making a post so i can link it in my pinned
this won't be a full blown analysis or anything. just touching upon some things that i feel are really important. i'll try to keep it brief. it may be edited in the future, especially since i'm writing it tired at 4am, so expect typos and such
i obviously think jimmy is a horrible person, but i simply find analyses of characters who are bad people very interesting. especially when it's given a realistic approach. i won't say the way you approach him as character doesn't matter. but slapping on a "cartoonishly evil" label onto him and writing him off as only that, with zero nuance, is simplifying things very much. real life abusers are way more complicated than that. it doesn't help anyone to pretend otherwise
and yes, i unfortunately find him attractive, despite everything. but it does not mean i am glorifying or minimizing his actions. it's okay to have complex feelings on characters. when it comes to characters like jimmy, some may experience these feelings because it reflects the conflicted/mixed feelings we might have had with abusive people in our own lives. that's my case. i hate jimmy but that's ironically what fuels my fascination with him and his awfulness
also i will quickly mention that i do think curly is flawed but i do not think he is as bad as jimmy in any capacity. at all. in fact it astounds me that's the conclusion many take away from the game where the actual situation is very complex. most solutions people imagine for curly in order for him to "deal with" jimmy are either out of character or not plausible within his situation. curly is not a saint but he should not be solely to blame for jimmy's actions, when the truth is there were a lot more things at play in mouthwashing's story
if jimmy is triggering to you then i don't blame you, but this game revolves around his awful actions, and wouldn't exist without him. and people shouldn't shy away from enjoying or discussing him as a character just because he was designed to be "bad". i reiterate, i am not trying to make excuses for what he did, i simply find it interesting to analyze what he did, why, and the events that led up to it. there's a difference
#i probably won't post my own analyses or anything bc i'm too dumb for all that#still. i thought this was important to speak of more in depth because my pinned is very unserious

fellow jimmy fan, please tell me why you also like everyone's least favorite (co)pilot🎤
EHEHEH HIII well i just find him fascinating, and hes the perspective we play for majority of the game which means the player grows most familiar with him, and also leaves alot to dissect and think about. and like i said hes just. very fascinating. his warped thought process and goals leave so much to think about, his fixation on "fixing" things when hes so clearly out of his element and things keep falling apart, how he both puts curly on a pedestal but is envious and seems to almost dislike him, etc. etc. not to mention how his actions are felt throughout the entirety of the plot. the narrative that comes from him is crazy, and it leaves such a lasting impression
#ii havent thought all that much about the game myself admittedly so i cant go into alot of depth but theres alooot out there analysing jimmy#which goes to show how interestingly written he is and the thought behind his character#asks#mouthwashing#also tbh i think i just have a personal bias towards antagonists/villainous characters which is why im drawn to him most out of the cast

I dont have motivation to draw but you know what i do have? Ranting about OJ headcanons!
Hi gang i lobe OJ inanimate insanity and here are some in depth headcanons i have and imade sure to research alot about certain things but if i get asnything wrong that is on me and i aspologise OKAY!!!! GIGGLE OJ has Dyscalculia, BPD, and is autistic :3 Dyscalculia is a math learning disability that impairs an individual's ability to learn number-related concepts, perform accurate math calculations, reason and problem solve and preform OTHER!! basic math skills!!! >_< this is just a silly headcanon that may just be projection because i miighhtt have this myself!?!?! but not too sure maybe i just suck at math. WITH AUTISM . this guy does not get social cues, does NOT enjoy change. it makes him anxious, as shown a few times iirc. He gets obsessed with stuff and really never truly stops. Probably one reason why he works so much is because he gets so obsessed with working with stuff that he just doesnt stopo !!! He's also insanely impulsive. although he is a little mature he mainly doesnt think before he speaks, plus he gets very angry over the littlest of things which brings inn!!! BPD!!!! THIS GUY.. as shown in the show multiple times, he has terrible abandonment issues and tries so hard to make sure NOBODY leaves him again. the thought absolutely terrifies him. Despite getting so insanely angry over things (a recent example is when he and paintbrush fought in season 3 episode 4) and having awful and shaky relationships with others.. which causes people to leave him / abandon him. He also has impulsive and risky behaviours (which also ties into his autism traits) such as ALSO ruining okay relationships because of sometjing he thought of someone, thinking they are bad and will hurt him.
(Plus, even better, the hotel OJ canonically has had a casino OJ created!! which could also tie into the impulsive and risky behaviors with gambling!!) what ties with the fact he has intense anger, is also shown with the amount of times hes actually HAD a fight with someone in the show. let it be Bomb, Paintbrush, Paper. Sometimes it can get quite physical!!!
Which also brings us with Taco, since shes a whole thing with this guy. Despite him not being directly effected by her, She still tried to steal HIS prize!! He didnt like that. He got angry with that. he didnt truly show it, but we can tell he did. since everytime Taco is mentioned within his vicinity he gets pretty angry. This could tie with this symptom of bpd since he did, slightly like Taco before it all. Although thinking she was a little stupid, and useless. But this believing Taco is cruel, or doesnt care at all, has lasted over 12 years. So its more of a longtime thing. Which is also something with bpd, having a long time, long lasting hatred, angry, or just a strong emotion about something or someone. or nothing at all!!
Oh and by the way, this guy has a HORRIBLE time keeping good relationships, they usually end because of something he thought of someone. Such as Bombs "betrayal" in season 1, and he thought Bomb was horrible and hated him for a time. Or trying to dump Paper because of how he thought he was going to leave him. OJ has abandonment issues, and with this, gets angry at others for trying to leave him and abandon him, when they really aren't. Or he believes they are cruel and they do not give a shit about him or anyone's well being and tries to just. not associate with them, but he does eventually get them back. Well, sometimes atleast!!! also, to add onto Autistic traits HE GETS ANXIOUS AND UNEASY AROUND FIGHTS WITH OTHER PEOPLE / YELLING / LOUD NOISES !! as seen with the scene where EVERYONE is fighting in episode 1 season 3!!!
And although it could be because hes glass and easily broken, he gets scared when someone raised their voice at him, and looks as if they are going to attack him. But he also gets angry, and starts to fight back. maybe as a defense mechanism but whoo knows! (Note; this one may just be a headcanon, nothing in the show really suggests this but it is also pretty likely he WOULD do this!! he does have a history of snapping back at others and arguing with them if he feels threatened) also i would like to mention his constant state of worry about not being able to work. When he went to season 3 because he was invited, it is implied he rarely ever takes vacations / breaks from working. he says "I'm not too sure im on board with this vacay...--vacayggayu. AUGHj." (he doesnt even know how to say the word!) this could tie into obsessive behaviours?!?!? and if we think about it, it causes him excessive stress and worry. Anxiety about leaving the hotel to a different caretaker while hes on his break. Which he BARELY ever takes, mind you. Autism, and bpd symptoms in themself. He also has a lack of fear, but when something becomes too overwhelming he may overreact and have more fear than usual / expected of him. So yeah!!! little OJ thing, this is just because im insane about this guy. uhhh somethings may be inaccurate but hey, im just having fun and making reallyyy in-depth headcanons about a fictional juice, so. Happy days!
#in depth headcanons#oj inanimate insanity#inanimate insanity#object shows#osc#headcanons#analysation?? maybe??#IM INSANE ABOUT THIS GUY HOLLYYY#JESUS#CHRIST#I LOVE THIS GUY#I LOVE OJ INANIMATE INSANITY#iii#ii#oj ii#fucking hell#long post#sorry for infodumping#it will happen again#so im not sorry#idk what else to add#I JUST LOVE THIS GUY#inanimate insanity headcanons#lol#egos rant

Its a sad day in Fandom when the dominant ship is one you want to be platonic.
(this is aimed at the Four Swords Loz, I want to explore the implications of a person being fractured into pieces, and how their shadow factors into that, but everyone wants them to kiss. And if they Do kiss, not many are interested in how that affects the rest of the pieces of the person. Which is like the most interesting part of that.)
There are some characters where it's fascinating to analyze what romance means to them and what a romantic relationship would look like for them. Its not often I get my curiosity quenched but whatever
