I would like to add to all this excellent stuff the fact that vaccines and antibiotics aren't the ONLY weapons that slew Great Plagues. Cholera, Dipthera, Black/Bubonic, parasites... these were slain by Public Health Infrastructure. These were slain by sanitary sewers, waste treatment, waste collection, and all the other nasty dirty jobs that keep SHIT away from OUR MOUTHS.
youtube
It is vitally important that we are able to speak without flinching or giggling nervously about the fact that humans shit and need a clean place to do that everywhere they go, or they will shit in the street and it will do great harm.
There used to be lidded trashcan laws in NYC. There are not anymore, because people forgot why we had them. Piles and piles of trash only separated from the public by a thin layer of plastic, if that, are all over the place in NYC today, and in summer? The miasma in some places is intense. People have forgotten the danger of rot, and so they don't prioritise dealing with it.
Many people have tried to get free public bathrooms off the ground in the US, and cannot because we have a serious problem with body shame and won't take the issue seriously. This contributes to our poor public health. People need to piss and shit somewhere, you can't just make reality not have that because it makes you uncomfortable to think about.
The fact that masking went the way it did is insane, but sadly not entirely a surprise. People are not taught anything about their bodies in schools anymore, and the everyday reality of our bodily functions is heavily religicized by American xtianity, for some reason that has always eluded me. Bodily functions like eating, sleeping, shitting, and fucking are all considered "sinful", so it's no surprise that breathing was treated the same way. Puritans believe that you get sick because you "sinned" and their god is punishing you, so putting a mask on is defying their god, which is the worst of "sins". Ditto with vaccinating. Frustrating to the rest of us, but no surprise at all when you know who you're dealing with.
Public health infrastructure slays the diseases we simply do not have vaccines for. There are MANY of the Great Plagues we don't have vaccines for, that rely on public health measures to remain gone--Cholera, Diptheria, Tuberculosis, Bubonic, all of these still exist, and wait for us to slip in our defences.
But now, because of a lack of education and no universal healthcare, Tuberculosis and Syphilis are ripping through communities of colour and people without homes or continuous medical insurance, and incomplete use of antibiotics is making these Plagues resistant to them.
We are on the brink of another Great Plague, and it might just be something most people thought we'd slain.
And that horrifies me.
Remember, history was awful. Never trust the romantics.

Ah I see, so you just... don't actually understand that the way you phrase things imply things. Cool. Got it. That explains your own difficulty understanding the text, got it.
Also, no you're not really explaining it, and even if you were no one was asking for that "explanation" in the first place. Read the first post again, you'll notice the operative phrase "a lot of people" and this is specifically directed at things like people who complain/hate on Jason Todd, while adoring other characters who share a lot of significant themes, personality characteristics, and concepts with him.
It also, most 100% definitely says that that dislike is valid? But this is about people and things that complain about Jason for things that are DEFINITELY prevalent also in the characters that they do "stan." Such as Batman, or Huntress, and so on and so forth. It's kind of like this:

Where people prop up their character for doing the same things, which funny thing is usually more common with female characters on the negative end of it so this is a somewhat interesting, if still exhausting, subversion of a very boring and repetitive issue.
Anyways you also missed the part where we both agreed that Jason was an extension of the same philosophy - yes, that even includes the fascist portions. (Bitter even Literally Also Called Jason Fascist). A vast majority of the superhero fantasy at its core cannot exist without some degrees of it, particularly once it starts expanding into the kind of universe DC currently has. Come on, the watchtower? Brother Eye? Are these not sparking red flags in your mind? And who, exactly, is responsible for them?
Batman.
Also, Batman has been called fascist multiple times even in-canon and spin-off properties. Usually by Green Arrow, or in that Blue Beetle movie. They're not wrong, but no one takes Green Arrow seriously about it and the Blue Beetle line was framed as a joke for the audience to laugh at.
-He asked Bruce why he wouldn't, and when Bruce gave his answer he... "accepted" it and asked him to stand by and let him do it himself. If you wanted to illustrate the point of Jason asking Bruce to kill the Joker, maybe you should have picked the pages right before this where he was going on, at length, about the reasons WHY Bruce should have? Instead of the one where he literally said "Fine, I'll do it"? The page that literally says, twice, "You won't kill him, I will." And even then, that speech was less asking him to do it and more condemning him for his choices.
He didn't say "Don't" he said "Won't" the time is long since past for Bruce to be the one to pull that trigger. If he was trying to get Bruce to kill Joker, he didn't try very hard.
-That's fine not to reread, but you're clearly not remembering a lot of it or went into it with such a biased perspective you weren't paying attention (which, you know, it's a bad comic I can't entirely blame people from missing things. But again, at least hate things accurately?). Kori had more character and development than Roy did, actually. At least in the parts Lobdell wrote. I still haven't decided how to classify Tynion's portion of that mess. It gives me a headache.
-I never said Jason was a better Batman, I said that his ideals of "wanting to be a better Batman" means that his ultimate motivation is just an extremist version of Bruce's own. Once again: that means that if Batman is a fascist, then so is Jason. Albeit one that operates outside the overarching fascist system Bruce aligns with and attempts to build his own, equally flawed system
-Do you realize how many poor people literally kill themselves to get out of medical debt because they cannot find work and see themselves as just burdens to themselves and sometimes their families? Do you know how common it is for people to realize they need expensive medical care and ask their families to let them die instead for the same reason and how that's not really that far off from killing yourself for it? Do you even understand how much poor people who can't afford insurance just don't go to the hospital and die of preventable/fixable things because they're afraid of medical bills? Have you been paying no attention whatsoever to how even with insurance it's a huge issue to not get medical care because it gets denied and would be too expensive without it which is a RELEVANT and RECENT topic of concern?
It's still a death, it's just one that you can pretend didn't spiral from the initial incident. Slow, and agonizing, and you're going to suffer and know what caused it the whole way while Batman remains blissfully ignorant of his responsibility in your suffering.
And, with regards to your tags: Hi! Not only Have I been affected by organized crime, My family was part of, and torn apart by it. Speaking of putting words in our mouths, when did we say it was okay for him to kill "bad poor people"? We didn't. And Bruce Beating and Throwing "bad poor people" in jail doesn't help their families either! I've said it before but if Bruce was paying attention to the families of the criminals he & the system he supports put in jail and doing anything about it, chances are Jason wouldn't have ended up homeless in the first place!
"It's okay to prey on addicts as long as they're not kids" we ALSO didn't say that but do you know what happens when you cut addicts off cold turkey? I've known people who were in so much pain from the cravings that they were tearing out their hair and chunks of their scalp and digging their nails into their arms so hard they bled. I have known people who had seizures during withdrawals and hit their head going down and died because no one knew it was happening. I have known people who got arrested and thrown in jail and died in their cells because they were left to go through the withdrawals with no assistance.
Cutting the drug lines entirely isn't the answer, either. Preventing them from getting more kids hooked on drugs is the bare minimum. It's not an endpoint, it's a beginning.
To be honest I think that a lot of people who share the anti Jason Todd sentiment don't even actually hate Jason. I think a lot of them hate what he forces the narrative to do.
Jason forces the subversion of the hero genre -- he's the single, most extreme proof that Batman's hero fantasy wouldn't be effective in real life, and therefore Jason showing up can take you out of the universe really fast really hard. A lot of people are here for what comics are meant to offer, the one man hero fantasy that makes you Feel Good, and Jason showing up doesn't Allow you to enjoy it! And if that's the case, you're completely justified in not liking Jason, he takes you out of the thing you enjoy.
I think a lot of you don't actually find his personality or acts annoying in of themselves, you just hate what those actions do to the genre itself. And I think once you realize that and start looking at comics like actual pieces of literature, Jason and shitty comics both will become a lot less rage inducing to you.

Nullus, name meaning "Nothing" was actually given the name "Necrosius" at birth. Necrosius literally just means "dead" and both of the names are from latin.
His father gave him the name "Necrosius" out of hatred because he thought Nullus was powerless (The old emperor was obsessed with power and magic)
Nullus named himself "Nullus" because he never thought he would ever achieve anything. Becoming the emperor meant he had power, money and he also eventually got magic... But everything he did never worked. The world was against him.
However, Dorian Crow, a small nobleman from the countryside who went missing and was found centuries after he should've died from natural causes at least... had given him the name "Vita" because he could see what Nullus couldn't; the lives he had saved, the people he had helped, the joy he brought to those around him and the determination Nullus had to help those in need.
Vita means life.
#hells kazinno#oc#delusions and despair#original character#art#doodle#I love Nullus and dorian with my entire existence#I never meant to put romance into delusions and despair because the story is meant to be philosophical horror#its about questioning existence itself and if anything you ever do is worth it in the end#battling your own insignificance in a universe much bigger than you could possibly fathom#rules and ideas which you cannot even consider real because theyre above you#the idea that life will just continue without you or your loved ones no matter how devastating or brilliant you consider your life to be#because at the end#you are nothing#the reason I actually ended up shipping them together and made it canon is because they just fit#they were two sides of the same coin#both sacrificed so much for others and were rewarded with nothing but pain#but they still persevered#i didnt put them together because i wanted romance or because i just thought itd be cute#I put them together because I knew they could handle each others flaws and weaknesses#I knew they would build and improve each other even when their days are eventless and boring

when Brennan said "The first rule of existence is: as above, so below. People are fractal images of the universe. You are as we are. In the same way your heart feels and your mind thinks, you, mortal beings are the instrument by which the universe cares. If you choose to care, then the universe cares. If you don't, then it doesn't."
when Brennan said "It is a horrifying responsibility to think because things cannot remain the same, each and every one of us must shoulder some responsibility for how they will become different."
when Brennan said "Sometimes decisions are not difficult. Sometimes they are just hard."
when Brennan said "There is no moral. The Wolf eats you one day and until it does, the forest is beautiful."
when Brennan said "I always felt the fundamental substance of the universe is creation. None of this makes any sense, when you really break it down. It's like, none of this had to happen, but it's beautiful and art is the definition of 'this didn't have to happen, but it's beautiful.' [...] It resonates with the universe because the universe is consciousness playing with itself."

Hi, also diagnosed traumagenic system here o/
Someone's already linked our document of sources for endogenic systems,
So we'll just try to answer this a bit
-"a system is caused by a TRAUMA DISORDER. you cannot "make up" your own system because they need formation from TRAUMA."
The definition of an endogenic system is a system that formed without trauma, or from something other than trauma. Nothing about CDDs. They're just plural. You're correct that systems can be caused by trauma disorders, of course, but that's not and never has been the only thing they're caused by.
Some endogenic systems have trauma, just know they weren't formed from it. A lot of the time they've seen professionals about it, who've agreed with them. Some endogenic systems even have a CDD, often because of their trauma, like how some traumagenic systems don't have a CDD.
Link 1 - "The current system surrounding DID/Other Specified Dissociative Disorder (OSDD) being the focus within mental health support is not adequate or appropriate for those who do not feel they fit within the diagnostic criteria used. These diagnostic terms are also synonymous with the experience of ‘disorder’ or ‘distress’, which was not always seen as relevant for the respondents"
Link 2 - "many individuals do not meet clinical criteria as a result of a lack of negative impairment; however, they do align with other descriptors of dissociative experiences. Thus, there is a need to understand the wide spectrum of experiences multiplicity encompasses to consider how an awareness of multiplicity can exist outside of an illness model"
Link 3 - "Plural experiences are not limited to tulpas and dissociative disorders. In fact, when the diversity of plural experience is considered, multiplicity may seem to be less of an extraordinary achievement and more of a fundamentally human experience. Many fiction writers, for example, report that the characters of their design seem to come to life in their heads, behaving autonomously and being perceived as full-fledged consciousnesses. Religious individuals of faiths where the God, Gods, or spirits they believe in can interact with them to a degree report similar phenomena, regardless of their specific religion or culture. There are also online communities tangential to tulpas where members report being plural as long as they can remember, but do not experience uncontrolled dissociation. And, of course, there is also tulpamancy. Tulpamancy is one way to willfully create new identities. It is a means to become plural."
Link 4 - “Plurality and dissociative identity disorder are not exactly the same. Being plural, or having two or more people existing in one body or space, is just one part of the diagnosis of dissociative identity disorder. Many people who are plural do not experience distress from the existence of others within themselves although dissociative identity disorder and plurality are frequently associated with trauma, there are those who are plural and report no history of trauma. The case presentation in this chapter describes someone with severe trauma, but this is not a definitive or universal reason for the existence of plurality”
"this is not a fun disorder." "this is not something for you to glorify."
No, it's not fun, and that's why non-disordered endogenic systems aren't saying they have a disorder. They can't glorify something they're not saying they have
"i'm kind of sick of all these hardcore endo-defenders who have absolutely no idea what being a system is like"
Hey so this is fake-claiming pro-endo traumagenic systems. We discover lost time constantly. We're missing 16 years of memories that we're never going to get back. We dissociate, have flashbacks, have PTSD and CPTSD, experienced abuse, forget who we are, and all the shitty parts of the dissociative and trauma disorders that we are diagnosed with.
We are a real system, and our experience is that medical professionals and medical books support the existence of endogenic systems.
We'd add a bit more but we're a little busy, though if you have questions we're happy to answer them
-Desmond
might end up deleting this post because i've never been much of a discourse person online but part of me wants to rant right now. y'all know that endogenic systems are not an identity like a physical alterhuman is right?? you guys are aware of this right?
a system is caused by a TRAUMA DISORDER. you cannot "make up" your own system because they need formation from TRAUMA. systems formed through trauma, even if they don't remember the trauma, are traumagenic, and not endogenic. this is common medical knowledge if you were to actually look into DID or OSDD or any other system trauma disorders.
this is not a fun disorder. this is not an identity thing you can just decide to have, and it's not an "alterhuman identity" on it's own. this is not something for you to glorify. it's similar to deciding you have autism because you want to have autism, because it's "cool" and "in" online/on tiktok (i am NOT bashing on self-diagnosis, for the piss on the poor part of the website). this is absolutely not how it works, and frankly, i'm kind of sick of all these hardcore endo-defenders who have absolutely no idea what being a system is like, or any components making it up. my lost time is scary, and my lack of memories that other people have can be a very difficult thing to live with. listen to some real systems and their experiences, please. or at the very least look into any sort of medical book like the DSM-5...
- sincerely, a long-time diagnosed traumagenic system.

Danny and Jason met at the infinite realms
Jason, a newly turned ghost wandering around the place he ended up in after he got bombed, It’s all different shades of green, and Jason feels a little disappointed that the afterlife is just this green space mostly full of floating doors and islands.
So he floated, sometimes opening some doors out of curiosity and shutting it immediately when he saw the bullshit on the other side. He hasn’t met other ghosts yet -maybe because he hides whenever he senses someone or something getting close, retreating to his time in the streets where survival is more important than sating curiosity- and he sure as hell is not going to find his ‘mother’ again.
He’s still wearing his Robin uniform, torn and singed in some places, Jason likes to imagine sometimes that he's still Batman's new sidekick, Robin gives him magic and he can fly!
It was like that for a few days -days? Or just hours? there were no day and night in this place he doesn’t know-
Danny found him, curled up in a ball, tears threatening to fall from his eyes and his core projecting incredible grief and longing. It was the first time he encountered a ghost so close to his age, and by the looks of it, a young vigilante too, was. It is also the first time Danny encountered a newly dead ghost.
Jason willingly went with him, for some reason. The other ghosts that saw Jason told him that he is as skittish as a kitten, hiding whenever they sense each other and they’ve decided to let him be, let him acclimate to the realms. Accepting one’s death was a hard time for some ghosts.
Danny gave Jason his own room in the castle, and despite the castle’s sentience and affinity for tricking ghosts, it never gave Jason a hard time. Talk about favoritism.
Time in the realms and the real world was weird, a week will pass in the realms and for the living world only a day or two have gone by. Danny has never been more thankful. He managed to instill a sensible routine with visiting the realms to check in Jason and still be an upstanding citizen that sometimes goes ghost to corral rouge ghosts back into the realms.
One day Danny proposes the idea to bring Jason out to the living world with him, Jason was hesitant at first before agreeing. Danny can feel his fear and he let out a soothing thrill from his own core, Jason relaxed a bit.
The first thing that Jason said when they were out the portal and flying on top of his house was “This isn’t Gotham”
Danny perked up from the first ever information about Jason’s hometown “Is that where you came from? This is Amity Park”
An hour and the revelation that Gotham doesn’t exist in Danny’s Universe has Jason back in the castle in the Infinite Realms, curled up in his room. He was back out not long after, apologizing to Danny for overreacting and a “It’s not like B saw me as his son anyway”
Years passed by -in the realms- and Jason was introduced to Tucker and Sam. They became friends, Sam and Jason immediately hitting it off, often discussing their own views on social and environmental problems, and Literature that Jason would gush about.
Danny and Jason became a thing. Sam and Tucker worried that Danny might have seen Jason as a rebound from his and Sam’s chaotic relationship that ended in a good note, Danny reassured them that he just had some realizations about himself and he may have just subconsciously denied some things about himself. He did love Sam and their time together was wonderful, but both of them realized that they cannot last long term and they were better off as best friends like before.
Jason was different, Danny can imagine himself spending a millenia with him, and Jason has the same thoughts.
All of it came crashing down when one day Jason disappeared, No Trace, not even in the living world. Even with Sam, Tucker, and the other ghost’s help, they cannot find Jason. As if he were never dead or existed in their world to begin with.
Six months after Jason Peter Todd's death He crawled out of his grave, bloody and splintered fingers parting soil, a gasping mouth taking in all the oxygen he could get, blank eyes, and with no memories of his previous undead life.

sukuna had promised himself eons ago that the next time he finds you, wherever and whenever it is, he will kill you.
but when he gets the consciousness to take peeks of the modern world from his vessels body, he finds himself hesitating. the way you look so bright eyed and bushy tailed nerves him. the way you work with the kids erks him with the memories of wanting his own years in the past. one with your eyes and his hair.
so, when he gets his full form, four arms and all, it bothers him how his body refuses to obey him and how it strains him with an odd, chest tightening feeling when he sees you bloodied— all because of him. you’re gasping for air, yet you remain in your stance, ready to give your life to protect some stupid, puny, pitiful children and the crumbling of humanity.
you don’t recognize him as ryomen. you recognize him as sukuna, the king of curses; the one who had killed satoru gojo, the one who has killed countless amount of bystanders and your own colleagues.
sukuna stands idly in front of you, arms soaked and dripping with blood from the various bodies he had slaughtered. the hot wind blows your hair away from your face, and your legs tremble at the late realization of your situation. you were face to face with ryomen sukuna. you, a sorcerer not even good enough to be considered one, in a one on one with ryomen sukuna.
a moment passes— a heartbeat— before he takes a step forward, all four arms hanging loosely on his sides and you freeze, unable to move your stiff legs.
“… i’ve searched for years.”
“… what ?” your words tremble past your lips, breathless. you can feel your hands shake, cold sweat forming on the sides of your forehead as your hands get clammy. as he steps with slow, menacing strides, you do the opposite and take action in distancing yourself, moving back with a quick step of your legs. but sukuna doesn’t budge, like he knows that there’s no where to escape from him.
his face scrunches in slight disappointment. you look the same. you sound the same. hell, even the way you’re standing is the same as it was years ago. but you can’t remember him. he’s not your ryomen, he’s nothing but a killer, a curse that won’t leave your side.
“perhaps your puny little human brain doesn’t remember.” he mumbles under his breath, stopping just a few feet away from you, enough for you to get a good look at him, but far enough to keep a safe distance.
“the hell are you talking about.” you spat out, digging your shoes into the smoldering dirt. you’re left without a response, the silence deafening as your ears ring and your mind is all over— what in the world is this guy saying ? what do you do in this situation ? where are the kids ?
you can see sukuna’s jaw clench tight, the muscles in his face hardening as he curls up his fists, feeling his fingers twitch. in the agony of it all, sukuna wishes that for once, just once, you’ll see him the way you once did. with gentle eyes and soft smiles. and in the heat of the moment, he comes to a slow, gut wrenching conclusion: he can’t bring himself to fulfill his own promise. for the first time in all his years of existence, living with rage scorching through his body, he cannot bring himself to grant his own wishes of your death by his hands.
perhaps, he thinks, but just for a moment, death by his hands isn’t something that would satisfy his desire of … whatever this was.
so, with a heavy heart, one carved and etched with your name, he takes a good look at your face for a second longer before turning his back towards you, making another promise to himself. no matter what he does today in shibuya, no matter what the circumstance is, he will not be turning around to take a second glance at you. he’ll carry the burden of life’s consequences with clenched fists and bloodied hands if it means that your death does not happen by him. if it means that the only memory he ever has of you is of when the universe was kinder to him, then he’ll let you die within shibuyas causes.

HOW SHIFTING WORKS- scientifically based thesis
“we´are infinite beings destined to explore the infinite universe”

NOTE: i´m not a scientist nor a physicist. This essay is based on self interpretation of information and things i´ve learned about consciousness, quantum physics, nature of reality, etc.
We´re four dimensional beings, meaning we´re composed of both physical and non physical (intangible) things. We have three layers: body, psyche (alias consciousness) and soul. Our bodies are just the envelope, the vehicle our consciousness occupies in order to live a human experience. Accordingly, our true self is not our body, but the consciousness that occupies it. Having that in mind, we´re able to move to the next point.
Everything — and this is scientifically proven — is made of energy. Vibrating energy makes matter, and consequently both matter and energy have frequencies. Every single thing has a different frequency: objects, sounds, emotions, etc. Therefore, reality as a whole, with all of its elements combined, vibrates at its own frequency.
Thanks to quantum physics, we know particles of energy can be in different states and multiple places at the same time in superposition when there isn't a conscious observer. While being observed, energy/particles behave differently, being perceived at one state and place. This experiment shows the same particle can and does exist in many states/places at once, but we´re only able to perceive one state/place at a time.
ENERGY → MATTER → REALITY
We can only perceive one reality (state of energy/matter as a whole) at a time for the reason the human experience we're living limits us to do so. Although, like energy is coexisting in many places/states at once, and we know for certain that energy composes matter, which makes the (physical) reality, we can affirm there are many other realities besides this one, but we´re not able neither to perceive nor interact with them.
ENERGY → MATTER → REALITY
“ ↳ MATTER → REALITY
“ ↳ MATTER → REALITY
“ ↳ MATTER → REALITY
“ ↳ MATTER → REALITY
+∞
PINK: what we percieve
BLUE: what coexists but we don’t perceive
Summing things up, there are many other realities coexisting in the very same space as this one, but each reality exists in different frequencies, so realities never interact with each other. That said, we are able to introduce the main character: shifting.
Shifting doesn't happen in your consciousness, shifting happens with — and thanks to— your consciousness. Your body is trapped in this reality because it's part of this reality, for the reason bodies are physical things that can only exist in one state. Your consciousness, on the other hand, contrary to your body, can shift because it's not something physical, it's not made of matter. Consciousness doesn't belong to any reality, it just experiences them. Consciousness cannot die, so when your body faces death, your consciousness continues existing in other realities. This can explain both reincarnation and heaven, since your consciousness shifts to a reality that fits what you expect/believe you´ll experience after death.
With shifting, we´re doing the same but intentionally, choosing the reality we want to experience, with the difference our Cr body is still alive, so we can come back.
By shifting, we´re changing the frequency of our consciousness — which is the same as our Cr— to match the frequency of the reality we want to become aware of. You have to shift your inner world in order to shift the outer physical world (the 4d and the 3d).

Habe you ever had a "did we even play the same game?" moment with someone?
My favorite game ever used to be Metal Gear Solid 4, it’s still up there in my top favorites, and this time at a party I met a guy that said he didn’t like MGS4 because he felt like it ruined Snake as a character and that it misrepresented him. I asked if he could elaborate and his response was that they took this Rambo dude, this super manly war hero and emasculated him into a weak old man.
I need you to understand that Solid Snake was without exaggeration fundamental in my growth as a person: I am from a latino country, grew up in what’s widely considered the wrong side of the tracks in the middle of nowhere, being macho, manly, tough was incredibly important to me, because that’s how it was in there, and Snake (plus “The Knight In Rusty Armor” by Robert Fisher) basically made me question all of what I’d grown up thinking up until then, because Snake isn’t a badass because grrr manly beef jerky I kill and swear, he is this incredibly solemn guy who hates what he can do, but is the only one that can do it, and if he doesn’t do it, then nuclear war happens, or worse. There’s a whole angle of expectation as a narrative arc in regards to Snake: Meryl expected a glorious, boisterous war hero, Otacon expected a grizzled, badass action hero, Liquid expected Himself But Better In Every Way, Ocelot expected a tool and nothing else, Naomi expected a callous and cold killer… And they were all wrong, he is, ultimately, an exhausted man that cannot stop no matter how much he wants to stop, because if he does, the world might likely go up in literal flames.
So to hear this self-proclaimed superfan of Snake say this just made me skip anger and go all the way to pity. In-universe, those in the know of Snake worship him as an actual God of War, and it’s a common thing that gets addressed in-universe: The whole point of MGS2 is that Raiden could never have won if he tried to be Snake, because you don’t want to be Snake. Snake hates being Snake. Snake isn’t manly because he beat a tank on foot one on one, Snake is admirable because he does the right thing, even if he’s breaking down molecule by molecule as he goes and he wants nothing more than to fuck off and raise dogs in the arctic, but keeps on going anyways because he can do something about it. The most important message he imparts on Raiden and Meryl is Don’t Be Me; Create A World Where Snake Doesn’t Need To Exist.
I felt pity because if you feel like MGS4 misrepresented Snake, then you really and explicitly are exactly the kind of fodder PMC nobody that feeds the proxy wars in MGS4. I think only by skipping every cutscene you can come out thinking that way. The only thing super about him was ficial.

there's a certain level of unhealthy codependency present in jayvik that i find deeply fascinating. Something about spending around a decade in the same shared space, becoming integral parts of eachother's lives to the point where it's almost impossible to imagine a life without the other.
They're straight up cosmically intertwined in every universe. One cannot exist without the other. It's very nice, really, i'm just struggling to put it into words

temptation
i lowkey have too many notes to write down properly KDFHKDS but ill write them down for Future Cele so i can read it later and be like omggg past cele ur so fun and interesting
in general, the more "color" the scenes have, the closer it is to "real life" as opposed to the muted/hushed winter blues of maruki's reality
i.e. the dark frames w akira smiling and the very last panel are when reality sinks in: first for akira, then for goro
by the way this is long winter au but sumire is still brainwashed. this also works for canonverse but i just had long winter au in mind:o
youve heard of laundry and taxes now get ready for coffee and pastries
in every panel, akira is smiling! :) and goro is very much not smiling.
intentionally his face is hidden in the last 2 pages so its unclear whether it's the "ideal reality" already (akira/goro's daydreams/wants/desires), or if goro is still fighting akira on making sure he picks the right choice
the smoke from the first page kinda leads into the 3rd page omfg COMPLETELY UNINTENTIONAL BUT REALLY COOL LMAOOO
that's nameless and belladonna in jazz jin!!! i love them. I LOVETHEM. i miss them so bad is it obvious
the cafe is loosely based off of caffe strada @ uc berkeley LMAO. my parents used to take me there a lot as a little kid so that's the first cafe i think of when i imagine one. its like right on the streetside, basically on the sidewalk, so its very bustling and people are always walking by... probably a little disconcerting to see everyones summery bright smiles despite the bitter cold and snow
in long winter AU, the Ideal Reality starts before 1/1 so yeah they get to see the new years fireworks together (or something)
also intentional that they wear the same winter outfits in the whole comic although it Probably does not take place at the same time. in maruki's snowglobe, time seems frozen in place... but akira and goro are both acutely aware that the sands are running thru QUICK
goro's frustrated expression on page 3 is one also of disdain: "don't speak FOR me you fucking imbecile" type of expression.
goro, who's never lived a normal life and therefore doesn't know much abt "normalcy" nor really actively seeks it. this 3rd semester is basically purgatory for him and he doesn't care to try and go through the motions the way akira does. akira what do YOU know about the type of "normalcy" i deserve? how do YOU know if i "deserve" that?
im thinking that this is a naive akira who is mostly set on taking the deal because he feels hopeless... seeing all his friends with good happy lives while goro and himself are alive and miserable and shouldering the weight of the world during the horror of long winter......
oh but if he takes the deal they could all be good and alive and happy!!!.... and goro knows this. i feel like in any other universe (i.e. akira is 100% certain on not taking the deal and goro knows this) then goro would be happy and carefree to do these little indulgences for himself and akira's sake, to just enjoy the snowglobe world while it exists.
but this goro is discontent. he sees how akira is enjoying the snowglobe and knows maruki is depending on this. goro has to be the one to remind akira that none of this is his to keep........ in this fucked up world, routine is dangerous. becoming comfortable is dangerous. they cannot keep any of this.
on that note, goro says "i hate you" in a halfhearted sort of way (it's not true and akira knows that.) but he's trying to think of a way that he can dissuade akira from picking the wrong choice.....
and i think the thing is, goro thinks all of this, but he still falls into the rhythm of routine with akira anyway. in a way, goro feels hopeless too.
all of this is maruki's doing........ paralyzed by the inability to choose... whatever you do, you lose. goro needs to hold akira at arm's length so the stupid sentimental fool doesn't get too attached and falls into the wrong universe. akira needs to make a concentrated effort to detach himself from goro even though he wants the simplest thing in the world: just one more unremarkable day with him. it's lose-lose..........,
also i liked drawing the tentacles in the last pic the freaking blue lines on them were SO satisfying to draw
edit: also the last page: the blood flooding the panel….. the idea of the ideal world being built off of the blood and sweat and tears and bodies of the people who could have been. of those lost in the actualization, of those destroyed, of those stitched together and brought back to life. all just for a little false happiness. goro sees it but akira doesn’t, and it’s a grim sight.
#shuake#goro akechi#akira kurusu#persona 5 royal#cele draws#cele comics#last comic for 2 weeks ish probably bc ill be away frm my usual setup for a while:O will still be drawing tho!!!#long winter#takuto maruki

loa is your best friend, not your crush

tldr: stop seeking loa’s validation, trust in your friendship and the love you share
so we’re gonna need a bit of backstory for everyone as to how i reached this epiphany which i could only articulate this well thanks to @faeriemarie letting me ramble on discord thnx bby
anyway, backstory :
i have a wonderful best friend from high school and she is someone that i’ve scripted into many realities (she’s one of the members in my kpop girl group dr, i love her sm). but in my cr, as can be expected, life hasn’t been easy and we hadn’t talked for quite a while.
sometimes i’d remember her with so much warmth and fondness and reminisce in the times we’d shared, the love that was so real and so precious to me, the way i’d literally see her five days out of the week and still never feel tired of her presence because at a time where i was struggling (high school) she got me like no one else did
and afterwards, after losing so much time to life and university and careers and new friendships, most of which could never even hope to reach her level, i was pleasantly surprised when she reached out to me.
two text messages later and we’d slipped back into the same energy that we’d always shared, like nothing had changed, because nothing had changed
we very quickly organised a lunch, no fuss no rescheduling, nothing blocking our paths back to each other and right now, as i type this, i’m cuddled under a blanket after a lovely meal with her and a warmth in my soul.
because she single-handedly changed the way i view loa
something about me and her — in my eyes she was always perfection and me being the anxious fool that i am, sometimes i’d spiral and convince myself that i’m not worthy of being her friend
today, at lunch, sitting right across from me, she burned those burdens and alleviated each and every facet of fear i had about it, about us.
she said “you mean so much to me, i value us and our friendship so much. i know that we go a long time without speaking and i really miss you but at the same time, i just know that i can reach out whenever, for anything, and you’ll be there for me. because you’re so genuine and so authentic. this kind of friendship is something i’ll always cherish”.
aside from the fact that i’m getting teary eyed as i remember her words, i have a point with all of this rambling and exposition — as soon as she said this and helped me rid myself of all that stress, it felt like i’d just slipped into my better cr
a reality where i’ve always scripted this kind of energy, this kind of vibe, with her
at that moment, shifting wasn’t on my mind bcs i felt like i’d achieved it ?? i felt like i was there, in my better cr, getting lunch with one of my most cherished friends, just like those scenarios i’ve scripted
and her and i have even planned another meet up pretty soon with our extended group and i cannot explain how refreshing it is to feel zero social anxiety about this plan
usually i’d have inklings of fear and doubt but right now? nothing !! absolutely nothing
i am so at peace and i haven’t felt this way about a friendship in so long ???
having lunch with her and speaking with her affirmed to me that my fears of losing our friendship were unfounded, because how can you lose something so genuine and so real?
i’ve finally learned to trust in our friendship and the love we share and dismiss my irrational fears that are baseless and are a result of my own overthinking
i don’t think you guys understand how incredible this is for me because i am without a doubt one of the most anxious people in existence it is disgustingly debilitating
but i’ve won this battle and there are gonna be more battles that i’m gonna win (anxiety-wise ahdhdhsh)
and i know i’m gonna win those because meeting up with her affirmed me of my own capabilities and my own manifestations
i’ve learned to dismiss unfounded fear and trust in my friendship with this person
why don’t we think the same way about loa???
we need to trust in your friendship with loa, one of the most genuine friendships you can ever have
the universe can throw as much at you as it wants but loa always has your back
we need to stop thinking of loa as this unresponsive crush, always seeking its validation, in need of constant attention and interaction and hoping to “run into them” to “share a moment”
stop. stand up.
loa is not your crush, for fuck’s sake, loa is your life long soulmate friendship
a friend like loa? you don’t need to talk to them 24/7 to know they love you and value you and care about you and will provide for you
that’s what loa should be, a true genuine friend who you can hit up for whatever you want (manifestation) and they’ll follow through (materialisation)
