I'm putting them in water and playing with them like they're orbeez.#putting them in my brain water and watching them expand like those foam animal pill thangs and then tearing them up#I promise I'm normal. I'm a normal guy. I'm so average. literally the normalest guy you've ever met.

Chim: Your brother might be an evil genius after all.
Maddie: You had fun with Buck's DnD campaign?
Chim: I thought he convinced Eddie to play because, well, they're dating and are incredibly codependent in everything they do, but I was so wrong.
Maddie: He's been working on that campaign for a while, I'm glad you had fun. Karen and Hen loved his last campaign.
Chim: Honestly, I'm obsessed with the game. He used gummies and animal crackers for every enemy, so we got to eat them every time we vanquished one.
Maddie: I'm guessing you're too full for dinner, then.
Chim: I am, specially when the last boss was a Boston cream donut he made from scratch that looked so good and tasted even better. We wanted to eat it so bad, it was all primal and feral, and I can't believe I wanna play again.

ok but can i say how much i love your profile banner. like, besides being hillarious it also feels like, idk, an acknowledgement that anidala/vaderdala/etc is by no means perfect. it isn't. there's definitely some unhealthy behaviors (tho i'm no psychologist), but it's not irredeemable or intensly toxic. with some work (and a universe that doesnt hate them, seriously) they could be like, THE couple. I mean they kinda already are to me... couple goals. minus the infanticide.
Snskdja i think you need to see the full comic

(My partner drew it for me!)
They're pretty much mutually obssesed and codependent, their whole deal is that they bonded over trauma. These were two kids forced to grow fast and carry responsabilities beyond comprehension, in extreme danger and away from home and family, in circumstances where they weren't allowed to grow any kind of normal way of coping, and very lonely; so there isn't anything normal about them and honestly they don't need to be because they fit perfectly what the narrative needs of them, which is Space Romeo and Juliet with magic and laser guns and swords thrown around.
Their whole love story started because they both are deeply scarred and damaged individuals who were dehumanized in different ways but found solace in each other and their similar personalities, and because of their circumstances, they developed that extreme obssesion that became a brand for them and they hadn't much of a room to actually work a more normal relationship
Usually discussions about wether a ship is toxic or not (which is kinda a buzzword at this point, not pointing at you, anon! But i mean the general public, some ppl heard it once and never dropped it) are kinda reductive because it more often than not ends in a very White and black approach to the text and a very 'eh' conclusion, especially in cheesy and camp movies like SW because of course they aren't normal nor they cope on the correct ways, there wouldn't be story or much of a interesting aspect going on! Their devotion is insane and fantastical and closer to a greek myth or a Shakespeare tragedy than many of the other aspects in SW (like the politics) and they do have a positive impact on the other, and that's what's fun about it; there's no much point of comparison in real world because it simply can't be compared 1:1, but they're fun to analyze regardless because of how much of a compelling characters they are! And yet they can be very simple, narratively their concept isn't hard to grasp but you can dig so much about them with what little we have (particularly Padme has very little screentime compared to other characters, but there's still a lot to infer about her).
What's also fun about Anidala is that because SW is actually about love conquers all and all of that cheesy stuff, is also at the center of the whole story and through Luke it gets proven correct, Anidala as a relationship haunts the narrative and there's some gothic kinda vibes to it that I love. Both Anakin and Padme as characters come with SO MUCH to unpack, and so many flaws, and I have joked before that they lowkey match like puzzle pieces in such a way that they're mostly able to water down their issues, but that if they were to date someone who's more normal? It would be over, lmao.
(Now, Vaderdala, or at least my Vaderdala does take the insanity to a whole different league, theyre particularly freaky and evil in the empress padme AU lmao)
Alas, sorry for the rambling! I just love them!
#thanks for the ask!#anidala#vaderdala#anakin skywalker#padmé amidala#edit: why dn tumblr moved the images?????

The Percabeth hate is ridiculous
When I first found out that people hated percabeth, I thought it was a joke. And then when I went down the rabbit hole of WHY they hate the ship, I had to take an entire day to process all that information because the 'proof' that percabeth is toxic and abusive, is so far fetched, it's not even funny.
I'm not gonna try to convince people to ship percabeth if they don't want to. Everyone is allowed to have ships that they like and dislike. Even if that ship is THE OTP of the fandom. But the thing is, you can dislike a ship just because. You don't need a reason. You don't need to make up reasons. If you want to ship Percy with some other character or if you prefer Percy and Annabeth as friends, you can just do that. You don't need to prove that Annabeth and Percy are horrible for each other.
As I said I'm not trying to push my agenda on people who choose to stick with their (made up) perspective of canon. You can like what you like and hate what you hate. I just need to get this off my chest.
So this is everything I have to say about the, twisted until it no longer resembles canon 'evidence', that 'proves' that Annabeth is evil incarnate, and that percabeth is a horrible ship.
This is probably going to be a very long rant. So hold on tight.
1) The first piece of evidence is the 'name calling'. The fact that Annabeth calls Percy 'seaweed brain' is somehow controversial? I don't understand why. Especially because percy is the first one to call Annabeth 'wise girl', and though the nickname has the word 'wise' in it, it was not a compliment. But everyone just forgot that?
There's also the fact that by the end of the first book, the nicknames have become endearing for them. It's a cute thing they call each other. But apparently it's not cute to the Annabeth haters.
This evidence leaves me with a few questions. Do your friends not have humiliating nicknames for you? Does that mean they hate you? Do you even have friends at all?
2) The second piece of evidence is her 'treatment of rachel'. What about it? Sure, jealousy isn't a healthy emotion. But almost everyone feels it at least once in their life. Annabeth is a teenage girl who was witnessing the guy she liked, the guy she KISSED, hanging around with another girl.
More than that, she was scared that Percy was going to abandon her. Everyone she loved, left her behind. Luke chose Kronos. Thalia chose the hunters. And her father chose the mortal woman who gave him a chance at a normal life that Annabeth couldn't.
That's what she sees. She sees the possibility of Percy abandoning her for Rachel. So she lashes out. She's mean to Percy and Rachel. But it's her that saved Rachel's life in TLO. She's the reason Rachel is still alive. And Annabeth and Rachel do eventually make up and become good friends. I can't believe that we've come full circle from the intense Rachel hate just to hate on Annabeth.
And does no one have anything to say about Percy also feeling jealous over Annabeth with Luke. How come when Percy does it, it's cute, but when it's Annabeth, it's toxic? Annabeth doesn't show similar jealousy with Reyna or Nico because her jealousy wasn't about someone stealing Percy. It was about Percy leaving her behind. Her jealousy wasn't unreasonable. And she got over it and moved on.
3) The third bit of evidence that makes them horrible for each other is their 'codependency'. Why wouldn't they be codependent? After everything they've been through (that I hope I won't have to list out), it would make sense. But even then, they're not even really codependent. They still have their own lives separate from each other. They just choose to stay close to each other because they feel safe together. I would be surprised if they weren't codependent. Why is their codependency, that isn't even really actual codependency, such a big deal.
I understand that play fighting isn't everyone's thing. And there's absolutely no need to put up with anything that you don't like. But that doesn't take away from the fact that Rick meant for those instances to be friendly play fighting. Just because you think it's abusive, doesn't make it canon.
4) The next evidence is the 'physical abuse'. I can't even with this one. The fact that Annabeth playfully punches Percy because he was being a clueless idiot in TTC, or the fact that she kicked his shins to get him stop talking in MOA does not mean that she's abusive.
And before you ask, 'Well if Percy was the one to hit Annabeth, or if he hit her back, then would you have the same opinion?' Yes. Yes I would. I have male friends that hit me (not seriously, for fun). I hit them back. If I hit them first, I expect them to get even. I don't care. I don't think a little play fighting with friends is unhealthy. But you can. You can care. You're allowed to have boundaries. But I don't care.
5) Now for the big finish. The judo flip scene. This is the only instance where the haters have some basis. But I don't think it's enough. I understand how someone can interpret the scene as abuse. But the intention of the scene is what matters. Annabeth doesn't intend to hurt percy. The scene isn't really about Percy at all. He doesn't care. He laughs at her and starts flirting. He maybe even thinks it's hot. Percy has recognised abuse in Gabe. He doesn't see it in Annabeth.
I always thought percabeth would be a ship that no one would ever hate. But I'm seeing it happening, and frankly, I don't care that some people don't like the ship. The problem is that they find the need to bring down Annabeth to make it seem like the ship is toxic and abusive and the worst thing to ever exist. And that it's all somehow her fault.
Annabeth loses control over her emotions and that's what led her to do it. And I know that sounds bad. But the emotion she loses control over isn't anger. It's grief. She's taking out months of pain. She shouldn't have taken it out on percy. But she did. Because Rick wanted her to. I don't know exactly what he meant for the scene to be. But it's not what people have made it out to be. He definitely didn't mean for this scene, and all the other scenes that Annabeth haters cling onto, to be evidence that Annabeth is toxic and abusive. Because she's not.
I wish I could forget the time I read someone say, that 'Annabeth calling Percy 'seaweed brain' was her way of self validation because being around percy made her feel smart'. What does that even mean. Just because her fatal flaw is hubris, doesn't mean that that's all she is. It's laughable how horribly some people have seemed to grasp Annabeth's character. They've made her into something she's not. And don't even get me started on people blaming her for all of Percy's insecurities. She didn't create them. She isn't encouraging them. Percy's insecurities are in his head. Why is she at fault.
It hurts to see Annabeth, who is canonically a very well developed character with a lot of depth, being reduced to just her 'evil moments', that are almost always taken out of context. But meanwhile, I haven't heard a single complaint about Percy even though he's done and thought a lot of the same things as Annabeth. Somehow, when Percy does it, it's excusable. But when Annabeth does it, it's unforgivable. But sure, it's not misogyny. It's also not delusion.
#annabeth haters really love to pick and choose#they love to focus on all of Annabeth's bad scenes (that she's allowed to have because she's a flawed character like many others)#and they love to ignore all her good scenes because it goes against their skewed perspective of her character#annabeth chase#leave annabeth alone#percabeth#percy jackson#pjo#pjo fandom#percy jackson fandom#percy jackon and the olympians#annabeth haters don't know or understand annabeth#they hate on some made up version of her that's nothing like the person she is in canon#y'all need help#also just to clarify#this is not a percy hate post#i love him

Some Thoughts on Minthara
A repeating theme of all of the Origin companions is that what they think they want at the beginning of the game is a result of their fucked up pasts and is ultimately bad for them. Shadowheart wants to be a DJ, but that cuts her off from the potential to grow beyond Shar and loss. Lae'zel wants to Ascend, which would obliterate her in her entirety. Karlach would rather die than go back to hell, but dying cuts off the potential continued life she may find thanks to that Infernal Forge. Astarion wants to Ascend, which locks him into a cycle of violence, power, and fear. Gale has two failures of goals - first to kill himself for Mystra's forgiveness, then to Ascend (which hollows him out of all the originally noble intentions he had going into it). Wyll wants to serve, no matter what the cost to himself - which would lead him to stay pacted to Mizora when freedom beckons.
All of these initial goals stem from the environments/abuses that the companions are coming from. And they're all understandable! But they're unhealthy and/or maladaptive, and so in order for every Origin companion to get to their best/happiest ending they need to change and grow away from what they initially thought they wanted due to the influence of their pasts and personal flaws.
Minthara, when we meet her under her own free will, has abandoned Lolth but not her attitudes. She seeks love, yes, but also seeks any sort of power she can get her hands on with a desperation borne of fear. She cares deeply for Karlach and Lae'zel and reluctantly for Astarion, Shart, and Gale, but is willing to enslave them all as she herself was enslaved if it makes her Top Dog. Her ideal ending is codependent evil power couple with you, controlling the brain - and I think that's her 'bad' ending, akin to Ascended Astarion or DJ Shart.
Basically, I think there’s two sides to her. There's the side that desires genuine connections and is willing to go to hell for Karlach even if unromanced... and the side that chases power even if it means doing things like enslaving Karlach. She wants purpose (per her dialogue upon leaving Moonrise), a home and friends (per her dialogue when leaving the party), and protection (per her dialogues with the player). I think if she was able to obtain those things through sources other than trying to conquer Menzoberranzan/the Sword Coast she might be able to express the former side of herself more.
We see a bit of that in her Karlach romance, where she throws aside all concerns of seeking power to go to hell for her girlfriend. She doesn't talk of conquering or ruling Avernus - her focus is purely on vengeance for Karlach. It's an interesting reevaluation of her priorities and also why I like her pairing with Karlach so much.
As a side character, she doesn't get a questline and arc like the Origin companions get. But I think that it is notable that her happiest ending seems to be staying in Baldur's Gate. In her epilogue dialogue with Origin!Lae'zel she confesses that she is not happy if she pursues reconquering Menzoberranzan, and harbors doubts about her ability to succeed.
Because ultimately - as Ascended Astarion shows - pursuing power and conquest does not actually make you happier or safer. It just means a life dominated by fear. Lolth's treatment of the drow - and thus the drow treatment of each other - has been compared by writers of canon D&D novels to an abusive relationship. And like so many other survivors of abuse, Minthy is out of the immediate situation but still carries that way of thinking worn into her psyche, like ruts in a road.
She’ll never be “nice” or even necessarily “good,” but I’d like to think that over time, in the right environment, she can leave behind most of the self destructive power seeking of the Lolthite mindset. Move on from the toxic patterns of her past, as the Origin companions get to do in game.
#bg3#minthara#meta#discussion#mine#before you ask#yes i am planning a fic exploring this#(not) coming soon to an ao3 near you#bc i write at the approximate speed of a snail#but the idea has been in the works for a long time#as has the idea for this little essay

Ello there! I like your perfect pair series, can you do the deffense classes as well?
Absolutely! Who doesn't love having the complete collection?
As with any response, hope you enjoy!
The perfect pair Pt.3
Demoman:
He's another one who wouldn't be too picky with requirements. Personality flaws are fine, as long as they are willing to acknowledge and work on them. Doesn't care if they aren't a stand-up citizen, as long as they aren't just an outright evil or sour person.
I think he would actually be attracted to things others would consider physical flaws. It "adds character" in his opinion. Bags under their eyes? They must be working so diligently on something that they stay up a couple hours longer than they should. Stretch marks? How are those a flaw?! Those are like adding veins on a leaf painting, beautiful attention to detail on his favorite work of art! Crooked teeth? Oh, come on now. It's just cute.
He would probably like someone who doesn't have to be around him 24/7, especially when he's experimenting with his bombs. That just means they aren't codependent and there isn't a chance they get hurt if he messes something up while inventing new types of bombs.
I think he would also like someone who likes parallel play. Not sure why, it just sounds right to me.
I feel he's one of those people that the saying "the best way to a man's heart is through his stomach" applies to. It's definitely not a requirement, but it's a lot easier to fall head over heels if they can feed him some good food.
I could also see him going for someone a little bit shy and easy to fluster. He wouldn't overdo it, but seeing his effect on them would ironically have him wrapped around their finger. Not even he knows why it works that way. Maybe it's because he and his partner understand the limits and don't let anything settle into discomfort.
He would also like someone who can help him out of his insecure moments, yet they don't feel like it's their obligation. Someone who helps because they want to for his sake, not because they have to because they're with him.
All in all, he doesn't have super high standards, but he won't settle for less than he deserves.
Heavy:
He would probably be into spunky, tough people. He'd avoid people who actively seek out fights. However, if they only get into fights for valid reasons, he likes when they're resilient and resourceful enough to win every time. Not a requirement, but definitely bonus points if they tend to be smaller than their opponents.
I think part of the reason he'd be attracted to these types of people is because it would give him some peace of mind and make it easier not to subconsciously try to protect them all the time.
I think he would probably have a thing for people with visual art talents. Whether it be painting, graphite, or even graffiti, he would love to be able to see what the inside of their mind looks like. To him, each artwork is another piece of their personality he can cherish. That being said, he definitely leans more towards the expressive artists rather than ones who make still life pieces or photorealistic pieces. Those already exist. He understands it takes an insane amount of skill, and he can respect it. He just prefers those who can pull something completely new and original from their mind.
I could also see him pining for a dancer. He would be their #1 cheerleader, and wouldn't be shy about it either. Why would he be embarrassed about others seeing how much he supports and loves his partner? It would just be weird if he tried to hide his enthusiasm for them doing great things and being happy.
I think it would relax him if his partner didn't want kids. It's not that he doesn't want any, but the thought of his partner being like "kids or I'm gone" just doesn't sit right with him. He helped raise his sisters for a good portion of his life. He's already been a dad, in a sense. While, yes, that makes him very well equipped to raise more kids, that doesn't mean he has to want kids, y'know? Basically, he would want a partner who wouldn't pester or pressure him for kids. Chances are, his perfect type isn't sure if they want kids or not, just like him.
He would like someone he can cook with. Big emphasis on "with." He loves quality time and sharing skills and interests with each other. If they can teach him something completely new to him, bro is DOWN HORRENDOUS. Teach him more. He loves to learn things from the people he loves.
Engineer:
Ah, the good ol' country boy. Call me basic, say I'm sticking with stereotypes, whatever, but this man could never turn down someone who embodies southern momma energy, regardless what gender they identify with. I'm just a firm believer that every southern hospitality sweetheart needs their southern sass spitfire! They don't even need to be southern, to be honest. They just gotta have that energy, that zing.
Someone who, when he's trying to spare someone's feelings, will chime in with a brutally honest version that people can't even be mad about. I mean, they're right, aren't they? Someone who can be the spice to his sugar, the clarity to his kindness, the fire to his candle.
Now let me step away from that since I know he's an open-minded guy. He could also go for someone who's more like him. The type I mention above is more like "same sentence, different font" but the type I'm talking about now is more like "same font, different sentence."
Just as an example, he's humble and good with machines, so maybe they could be humble and good with nature. He's smooth on guitar, they're smooth with singing. He's drinking beer, they're drinking relatively cheap wine. You get what I'm saying.
I guess, when it comes down to it, he wants a partner who's just like him on this half of his personality, but the complete opposite of him on that half of his personality. Like a book. The front cover looks totally different from the back cover, but they're the same piece of leather.

i'm sooo in for cheaters prongsfoot but I need to now Sirius' reasons for doing it?? Like for James it makes sense, the guy had a son and married at like 20 he is the classic straight guy who lusts after his ""Bro"" but then why would Sirius who has already figured himself out and is in a gay relationship go through all of this when he can just... leave remus??
welcome to the Cheaters Prongsfoot lore.... ermm i dooo think they start hooking up when they're teenagers. which is sort of a natural result of blossoming attraction for one another + their proximity. they are def each other's first everything: kiss, handjob, bj, and so on. but bc their relationship hinges on best-friendship they don't really think to push it into something officially romantic - they're just really good friends, and this has to be the sort of thing all teenage boys do with their best friends, right? so by the time either of them starts dating someone else they've already beeeeeeeen fooling around with one another.
their reasonings are...... not good ones. they're attracted to each other. they're freakily obsessed with each other. they are the centre of each other's universes. why wouldn't they fuck every now and then? i think for james it goes far beyond him forcing himself into a heterosexual relationship - the man wants what he wants, and he wants both. the secrecy works for him and sirius, so why not just keep doing it? and for sirius, too - it's much more than them sorting our their queer identities. they are codependent soulmates to a level that is truly toxic and horrifying, and none of their decisions make any sense when it comes to the other. sure, sirius could and should leave remus, but he does love remus in a distinctly romantic way. like yes he does some objectively horrible things to remus but it genuinely is not because he doesn't love him. sex with james just makes so much sense, because it's them, it's siriusandjames, why wouldn't they? and so even after remus finds out and is justifiably pissed, sirius is like. moony why are you so mad? it's literally just james. you've known james since we were eleven. why are you worried about james? it's just james!
like theyre evil. that's what it boils down to. when it comes to each other, they genuinely dont give a shit abt how anyone else feels. they couldve saved everyone a lot of trouble (and skirted two divorces) by just getting together, but honestly like even dating feels like suchhhh a reduction of their complex, over-the-top relationship. plus they're both narcissists who prioritise their own wants over everyone else's. which means they r just horrible decision makers and nothing they do ever makes sense. hope this helps!

You should totally make a WHOLE ask dedicated to AU ulys. . .totally asking for a friend. . .hehe. totally
-Ulysses loving anon
yesss.... YESSSS (SICKOS) GO MY ULY AUS
there are multiple aus as you are familiar... but i'll mainly talk about cain, o&n, and lcb (yay!) since they're the ones i've written the most about
CAIN ULY !! brief overview, he was On Track for achieving the american dream, good job, finally raising a family, before he got involved with a sin and managed to run away, though with his son and wife both turned into sins, uly having bound to telemachus, or rather the fleshy, one eyed amalgamation, "polyphemus"
he was involved with the hunt "Where a Judge Must Remain Impartial" (dm'd by @soundofastar :), a lore hunt for nephel warhol) where he was . um kind of impeding every single part of the hunt, but he did end up help the group talk to a 15 year old nephel to help kill her mom who was the sin host with polyphemus :)
there was also a valentines oneshot where nephel and another friend's character, harvey, were doing training for how to act during hunts where he had a cameo where he was a landlord of the sin host and just had the most deadpan voice the entire time. he was trying his best but you know how old men are... nephel and harvey were interrogating him for information and when nephel said she recognized him he was adamant on keeping character. he also was entirely avoidant before he sic'd security on them, putting through a battle. then harvey threatened ulysses by kicking a chair REALLY HARD and scaring him off, making him run away.
this is the first time nephel met ulysses again after 15 years btw like this is their reunion. but they did have a nice moment as he was running away and when they were trading candy...
I DO WANT TO ONE DAY DO A LORE HUNT FOR HIM sighs dreamily
NEXT UP!!! O&N ULY!!!!!! he's a trojan virus turned denizen ai, trained off of the memories of director odysseus of project paradiso (owned/played by @inkwell-passion) as a prank and to slander odysseus' name
uly fully thought for a long while that odysseus' wife penelope loved uly more than ody because his memories and code tell him the time he spent with his penelope was actually odysseus' penelope (not confusing. whatsoever)
he has some insane abandonment and obsession issues, he spends most of his time in his servers creating 3D simulations of his loved ones to create memories he Does Not Have. and will in fact latch onto any woman that shows him a modicum of affection and they will become his new obsession but will still call you penelope
he's also being tormented by every imaginable higher sentient being than he is and he does not catch a fucking break EVER
LCB ULYSSES!! he's a miserable piece of shit that does almost nothing but get drunk on the bus and makes other people hate him (except not entirely true. he does genuinely try helping out with chores/maintenance on the bus
he is a human dough clone of outis limbus company, he's from an entirely different mirror world than canon lcb and was brought into this world to prove that lcb had the same technology as a wing.
he was specifically chosen because outis was the 2nd strongest out of all the sinners without being a literal bloodfiend, and it was a good choice overall to have another workshop expert without actually needing to pay him (he's here because he's forced to, not because he wants to work here)
i also really want to have this weird codependent flesh relationship with outis but i haven't quite figured it out... but its freaky.
he has a really bad tendency to project his ex onto any current partners and that usually destroys their relationship but the thing is he doesn't mind being a stand in for someone else as long as it allows them to both pretend they're with someone better
fatherhood is even worse . he was supposed to be a father, then he got transported to this evil fucked up mirror world and now he can't even dream of seeing his wife or son his identity is pretty much annihilated in one fell swoop, learning there isn't just One version of him, and learning in this world, he isn't even the original
he has always had an inflated ego but the whole mirror world human dough debacle has made it 5000x worse and he's now pretending he has a god complex to try and feel normal with the latter i think he feels its just Better if they don't like him so they don't interact with him and this whole situation won't feel real and he won't have any qualms about leaving everyone behind at a drop of a dime. I'm a "big name fan" (in a very minor way..? I don't like calling myself that, but I have made some sort of "impact", I guess) in a small fandom and I have produced like ~80% of all meta/fanfics/official media translations and archives, about some popular side characters who are related (and a lot of fanart, but I like writing more, so it's nowhere near to the amounts some other people made)...
But nobody knows that I actually ship them and that every single piece of content, from writing to art to meta, that I have posted, is shippy. Nobody except me and 2 friends has ever shipped those characters (I have checked every possible avenue in every language available out of desperation), so I guess I understand why nobody would think that I do, but still...
At this point I have drawn these characters literally 2 seconds away from kissing, but as long as I keep adding "(platonically, of course)" disclaimers, nobody seems to care..?
I feel bad because I'm tricking people into liking my art and writing, by not disclosing the truth, but the depressing feeling of "most of my friends would hate me if they knew" is giving way to me laughing at everything because... Seriously? That's Platonic familial love for them? Content that's all about eating each-other's flesh, cuddling, engaging in cooperative war crimes towards hundreds of people, hating mortals (AKA anyone outside their family unit), as well as sitting in each other's laps... all of that is Platonic and wholesome now? It's okay and normal as long as there's no smut? It's okay if these characters are horribly codependent, make each other worse, and are mentally unwell, as long as it doesn't go over that One Single Line - because one of them bottle-fed the other centuries ago???????
I don't mind keeping this a secret, because these characters mean a lot to me (I'm autistic & they're my special interest) and I really don't want others to stop talking to me about these characters or to harass me... but people in this community have been stalked irl over lesser "evils", while what I am doing is okay?? Why????
People have some serious double-standards about what is or isn't allowed, or what is or isn't shipping, and it's all rather odd.

pokes you. may i hear about katia? :333
AHHH YAY!! I'm so glad you asked about her she's my fav :D
Yapping under the cut
These are all the drawings I have of her (some of them are really old and I might change her design a bit if I ever draw her again but whatever)

I don't have a name for the story all my OC's are from but it's set in England some time in the 80s in an alternate universe with these Gods. Katia is one of the three god's (this is her human form, her God form is invisible to the human eye but she can transform into all kinds of weird creatures)
So there are three gods, the creator, the mother and the destroyer. Katia is the third God (the destroyer) and her job is to destroy the earth when the time comes. She was also given the power of chaos so if anything ever goes drastically downhill on earth she can do a kinda Noah's arch type situation and they can start again. However, since she's the youngest God, she's incredibly immature and gets bored of barely being able to use her powers very quickly. So what does she do? She goes down to earth as a human and decides to mess with a bunch of people, ruining their lives for fun.
So how the human forms work is that a human is sacrificed to become the vessel for a God (this happened like ages ago in ancient times). So basically she's puppeteering the dead body of some random girl from ancient times around. In her God form, her main state is invisible to humans but she can transform into all kinds of eldritch monsters and beings, she just can't transform into anything that lives on earth unless she's using a dead vessel. So she could become a deer or something if she wanted to.
As for the other God's, I won't go into too much detail about them because this is about Katia, but they're called Filippa and Xanthi. Filippa is the creator and has been in a coma like state since she first created the earth and Xanthi is the mother who is supposed to take care of the earth but he treats it more like entertainment and lets Katia do whatever she wants. They're all sisters and Filippa created Xanthi and Katia.
Anyway, there are two main ways she tortures humans. 1. She shows them weird god stuff that humans can't usually see and watches as they go insane 2. She recruits desperate, vulnerable people into a life of addiction, crime and violence and basically ruins their lives. All the other main characters are her victims, I'll give a very brief summary of them.
Milly was roommates with Katia for a while and developed a very unhealthy, one sided crush on her (something something she was a closeted lesbian and Katia was the first girl she'd ever been super close with). I don't have a lot about Alfie but he's punk and he has a very strong gambling addiction, him and Milly became roommates after Milly moved out. Yuto is the main character, he's a middle aged man who's ten year old daughter was murdered some time ago and he's been feeling lost ever since, when he met Katia he decided she was super cool and started acting and dressing like her. Jordan is a homeless lesbian who actually wasn't recruited into an unhealthy lifestyle by Katia but rather Yuto, her and Milly are yuri. Anyway yeah there are other characters as well but they're not directly related to Katia so I'll leave them out.
Personality wise, Katia is very energetic and outgoing, thus why a lot of people are drawn to her and tend to trust her. She speaks and dresses in a very eccentric way and she is very much inspired by Midori from yttd because of course I have to include her in some way. Besides torturing random people, her hobbies include: Making her own clothes, spending an insane amount of time doing her hair and makeup, listening to music, playing drums, doodling and beating little kids in arcade games. She is very silly and evil i love her <333
Also! Here's a very short story I wrote with my OC's (featuring Katia) a few days ago. It's the only thing I've written for them so far but I do plan on writing more, I'm just mainly caught up with doing stuff for my danganronpa rewrite atm.
Anyway I hope you enjoyed this yap session lol

On Ed and Izzy's relationship
I see the "Izzy was the cunning mastermind manipulator in their relationship while Ed was his helpless innocent victim" take is doing the rounds again...
I honestly just feel sorry for anyone who can't comprehend and appreciate their relationship with its full complexity and nuance. Because it was simply magnificent. S01E04 alone is a masterpiece in character study that encapsulated their mutually toxic dynamic at its peak, and switching the character whose perspective you're watching it from completely switches what it looks like and who seems to be in the wrong. That episode was pure, beautiful, fucked up tragedy. They're both talking past each other. They both refuse to listen. Ed is crying out for help, but Izzy shuts him down. Ed wants to enjoy all those new fun original things on the ship that make him appreciate life again, but Izzy keeps nagging him. Clearly he's just an annoying, mean, insensitive buzzkill, right?
Except the whole time Izzy's terrified they are going to die because they're about to be attacked by the Spanish - something Ed brought upon them with his decision - and Ed seems completely disinterested in doing anything about it. Of course he's not going to indulge Edward playing with a toy ship or have a heart-to-heart in those circumstances. He doesn't insult or mock Ed for being suicidal, he simply points out that they're literally going to die if he doesn't come up with a plan right now. Meanwhile Ed's deliberately withholding crucial information from his own first mate and the rest of the crew, either (less charitable interpretation) for his own entertainment or to flex his skills or (slightly more charitable interpretation) to make a point to Stede.
The rest of it was so masterfully balanced out too. Right up until the point where Izzy betrayed them to the Navy, he didn't actually do anything wrong. Yes, he was still wrong - but so was Ed. Izzy was the "lawful evil". He was the one playing by the rules, while Ed was trying to cheat his way out of having to make a decision. Trying to run away from his problems instead of confronting them head-on (or just crashing into the opposite extreme and trying to violence his way out of his feelings) was literally the major theme of Ed's character. So was his inability to form meaningful relationships without bolting or lashing out the moment he encounters an obstacle. Completely removing this from the equation while putting all the blame on Izzy simply destroys Ed's agency and character depth.
We were literally given a glimpse of his childhood abuse to see where his trauma originated. It wasn't Izzy. Nor was it Izzy who appeared as the embodiment of Ed's self-hatred in the gravy basket. Izzy didn't somehow singlehandedly isolate Ed from forming meaningful relationships with people. He never had this much power over Ed. Their relationship was mutually toxic and codependent, but neither of them was each other's slave, they still had their own mind. We saw Ed constantly ignoring Izzy's advice and his judgment. We literally only saw it work when Izzy had the backup of other crew members and got overruled, and when he struck out at Ed when he was at his weakest and most vulnerable. And Ed wasted no time reestablishing the power dynamic in his favour, where it stayed until they managed to symbolically-and-almost-literally kill each in S02E02. That's what it took. That's how powerful their fucked up toxic relationship was.
That's exactly what I don't get about Ed fans who are Izzy haters (or misunderstanders). They claim to love Ed... and then they strip him of all the darkness and complexity and anything even remotely "unpalatable" that makes him such a richly realised character, and turn him into a cardboard cutout who's so indefensible as a character that the only way they can prevent people from criticising him is by pulling out the racism card. Which is so ironic and absurd because OFMD is amazing at diversity and writing characters equally well no matter what their gender, sexuality or skin colour is. It's also literally a show about one of history's most famous pirates. If someone doesn't want to see PoC characters portrayed behaving violently (even when that violence is shown to be caused by trauma and general pirate lifestyle and not indicative of their moral worth as a person), then OFMD probably isn't for them.

Okay. I just finished Greedfall.
INSANE ending. INSANE.
I am so happy the game gave me the option to join Constantin at the end. It was literally perfect. I could not have wanted anything more from that ending, I would not have changed a thing, I have no notes.
You fuck over everyone else for each other. You fuck over everyone except each other. He promises you that if you join him you'll both rule together hand-in-hand as gods and then... YOU DO???
the ending is unambigiously pretty evil (I mean obviously, your companions are all betrayed, even though I guess nature does heal? and ngl he makes some points...) but it doesn't come with some stupid twist that Constantin ends up betraying you. Throughout the game, he is so consistent in his respect and love for De Sardet. And Constantin bringing up how the world has used and manipulated both of them is such a beautiful callback to De Sardet's "All the lies we've been fed since our tender childhood" line from earlier in the game. I'M SICK!!!
And. Okay. The ending is so romantic, but in a perfectly implied way. "This new world is my gift to you" (excuse me.) Constantin saying he did everything "for you, for us. so that [they] may live free at last." De Sardet tentatively grasping his outstretched hand and Constantin pulling her into an embrace where she buries her face into his neck. HELLO???
he asks her to bind herself to him FOREVER and then SHE DOES. No matter the alliances she's struggled to build, the factions she united, the friends she's made- De Sardet chooses Constantin over it all. they're so fucked up and codependent. I'm obsessed.

I love your empress padme au, they should be evil and unhinged. I'm misly curious as to what the kiddos are up to, (and some of the other characters, I imagen they're mostly side eyeing anidalla like "wtf is happining over there???") Anyways I kind of love the consept of "evil chaos family fun"
Neither of them are stay at home parents but the imagen of vaderkin in a frilly apron trying SO hard to cook for his family has popped into my head and will not leave
Vader should get a cloak wich has "property of Padme" embrodered on the back
dfkjgnkjngfdjk thank you, Padmé would ask him to cook with an appron and nothing else
About the question, well! Just yesterday someone asked in the comments about the twins too! And well, you see, I'm undecided! This will get long!
See, when I originally envisioned the empress Padmé AU, what I had on mind is that Padmé spent about 5-6-7 years with the rebels, and that's why we have Vader as...as we known him, you know, almost-classic Vader. Unknown to the rebeels that Padmé's goal was sliiiiiightly different as theirs. She would have the twins (or at least, known where they're being hidden, and visint them and everything) and her goal would be to reunite her family, she's a bit obssesed with having her family fully and complete.
But! The idea that, for example, after having the twins she was unconscious for several days or something, and it was decided that hidding the twins was the better choice and told her they died it's so very tasty and angsty! Vader and Padmé would be EVEN MORE codependant and messed up out of the grief (also THE GUILT Vader feels about thinking he caused their kids death as he sees Padmé so distraguth?!!!! He wants to constantly kill himself, he probably wants Padmé to kill him, tasty angst) If she believes her twins to be dead, then she believes she only has her husband, and she's very overprotective of him (and possesive, a lot).
And then you would have the plot following slightly similar to the movies, but now the twins have to redeem BOTH of their parents who are kinda enabling each other so hjhbdgdfsf
(Either Leia wasn't given to Bail and Breha because...come on, or I'll have to invent a super duper and convenient explanation)
Also @squad-724 suggested the idea of Padmé and Vader somehow sort of bringing Ahsoka (inquisitor ahsoka, wahoo!) into this and now I won't stop thinking about it (unconsciously) having Ahsoka as their stand-in-daugther because they lost their twins. Messed up, messed up and all these conflicting feelings guys!!!!
BUT! On the other hand, Imperial twins raised by both EVIL PARENTS is super fun, like, this poor galaxy can't catch a breath. Because my Vader raises the twins AU have them being double agents with Vader trying hard to cover them up so the emperor won't kill them. But here it probably makes them less likely to turn against their parents! However, 5-6 years being raised among rebels, and then being raised in the imperial palace and becoming prince and princess and at the very least knowing your mom kinda betrayed the rebels is probably enough to give you suspicion and "huh,,,this is kinda bad? Maybe"
For Padmé and Vader though, I think it would bring a very devoted and angry protectiveness for both Padmé and Vader; they aren't that invested in the empire and power tbh, they just want to have their Little House On The Prairie fantasy with a family fully complete and safe, at all costs. It would make them even more of a team and less weaknesses. Though, I once kinda as a joke just imagined Padmé getting tired of all of it and going "ah whatevery, let the galaxy burn by itself while we ran a way somewhere" and that's it because seriously Padmé wanted to actually give up on all the work, no big redemption or big epic dramatic moment, the imperial family just disappeared one night and no one knows what happened (surely they were murdered?) when they're just chilling in some super random and secret corner of the galaxy doing, idk, the most boring thing ever, farming. Luke and Leia get bored and become spice smugglers . The end.
For the last question, though, I think half of the people think Padmé is a victim of this terrible situation somehow (oh noooo, she was kidnapped by that monster, who knows what she's enduring, or she's being mind-controlled :( ), that she's some sort of puppet empress while Vader actually makes all the choices because,,,come on, that was the emperor's second hand right there. The other half of the people remember Padmé was a bit of a political apprentice for Palpatine, and they're also both from Naboo, and it was also thanks to her Palpatine became the Chancellor, maybe she did want power from the start, maybe Naboo is fucked up, never let politicans from Naboo have power again.
And then there's the third secret thing, which is only a very limited number of people like Obi-Wan and Bail (and Padmé and Vader's palace staff lol), that are fully side-eyeing her.
There's also the problem that since she actually worked with the rebels, she,,,knows a lot, she probably knows almost all the names of the rebels' leaders, she probably knows there's a underground society helping jedi run and to which planets. She knows so much, and yet she doesn't actively chase them (or more like, she doesn't actively send Vader to chase them), and if she does send her husband, which is rarely since she wants him to stay where she can see him (remember when I said obssesive and possesive and overprotective?), she's probably doesn't tell him that much info because it's entertaining, giant galactic chess game, lmao.
Also, her empire isn't half as awful as Palpatine's, like, it's still very bad but it's leagues better and she does probably finally forces the good charity projects she never could as a senator, and well, complacency it's extremelly dangerous for freedom. So there's that.
#i must remark that this padmé was a little bit more messed up even before like meeting Anakin again in AOTC#so like this padmé probably raised a bit more suspicions since the beginning as a senator than canon padmé#vaderdala#padmé amidala#darth vader#thanks for the ask!#empress padmé#rambling#long post#sorry for the rambling i wasn't expecting that much rambling T-T#user: clairaworlds

I LOVE YOU AND YOUR OC'S RELATIONSHIP WITH JACK SPICER. I just recently got into xiaolin showdown, and jack immediately became my favorite character. can i please request some more details about their relationship?
thank you!
WHSHHG THAT MEANS SO MUCH!!! 😭😭 and i'm so happy to hear that!!!! imagine hating jack spicer and his ass is over there looking like a soggy piece of tissue paper
ONTO THE SHIP...........

they're GOOFY!!!! they've evolved a lot since i first made them -- yes i ship them romantically, but they are also each other's best friend, and that's a very important element to their dynamic!! they are two very lonely people who somehow got mashed together and get along like a house on fire
--
in my story/lore, the minute Jack got someone who he considered an actual friend he sort of just. broke open immediately. but instead of feeling relieved, it scared the absolute shit out of him. he also had no idea how to distinguish his feelings between platonic and romantic.....he just knew that being around her sometimes made him want to throw up and start crying
Persephone, on the other hand, was more reserved about her feelings but would yap his ear off about everything else LOL. she had a puppy crush on him early on, but it was more of a "here for a fun time not a long time" kinda deal. she was in the throes of coping with a breakup with an ex at the time and was wanting a story out of this wannabe villain twink to make her have a big break in the journalist scene. Perse battled with feelings of guilt once she began to form a real connection with him and found that she actually really enjoyed his company
Perse felt drawn to Jack because of how unashamed he seemed he was in being himself despite everyone else being against him. she grew up in a stifling household that often shut her down, judged her, or forced her into a mold she was unhappy in -- something Jack himself could relate to -- and so Persephone jumped on his wave and began feeling comfortable to fully express and be herself when she was around him
this is from a silly 2000s kung fu cartoon, so things aren't That Deep, BUT.....they do have a codependent relationship, but it's mainly for shits and giggles rather than toxic implications. they feel the best and are the most comfortable when they are around each other. i wouldn't go as far to say "they bring out the best in each other" because they are still a chaotic antagonistic duo in the Plot, but i do like to think that Jack subtly begins to better himself because of Persephone in my story. she instead brings out the human and vulberable side of him without directly trying to Change him. he just mellows himself out and eventually down the line becomes the ex-villain weird uncle character that is still very much morally questionable -- like Omi says in that one episode (don't remember the exact quote word for word) "maybe he'll finally become satisfied and quit being evil"
