My local hospital has a couple of bus routes that run past the main entrance. But their stops aren't actually near the entrance.
On top of that, the main entrance is a quarter-mile road with narrow footpaths and dropped/cut kerbs so steep they're impossible to navigate by wheelchair.
Any wheelchair user has to use the road itself. And, surprise, it's the main entrance of a hospital - that road is pretty busy.
Basically, no one with a mobility impairment of any kind can use public transport to get to the hospital. Parents with sick kids in prams or pushchairs, or who are sick themself but can't leave their child unattended while they go to an appointment, either risk life and limb, or can't use public transport.
The truly stupid thing is that there is a bus stop right at the actual entrance to the hospital building. It is only served by the free shuttle bus that runs between the three local hospitals. It does not stop anywhere other than those hospitals.
Why can the local services not take a tiny detour and use that stop? I mean, the next nearest hospital does that - there's about 10 different services stop there, and share the stop that the shuttle bus uses.
(Don't get me wrong, the disabled parking situation is equally comical, so it's not just public transport users they're discriminating against - it's all disabled people)
--
But that's not even the funniest part. My local hospital has what might be deemed fairly "normal" services. To see a neurologist or endocrinologist (to use my own personal examples), I have to go out of area. That out of area hospital is a 2 hour journey by bus (about 40 by car), and still, the bus doesn't go into the hospital grounds. In this case, the hospital is built in a dip, with the road running higher up. Much higher up. As in, my manual-wheelchair-using ass couldn't manage it.
There are buses I could change onto that do go into the grounds (I believe - never seen one), but do you know how much of a PITA it is just to get onto a bus as a wheelchair user? And how much you run the risk of there being another wheelchair user in the only space you can occupy?
Also, very much worth mentioning - in the UK, wheelchairs are not secured in any way to the bus floor. This isn't much of an issue for someone who uses a heavy power chair, but the rest of us have to cling on for dear life at every turn. And it's a VERY windy road from my town, over the Pennines, to the hospital. I actually have purchased some items to create tie-down points because riding the bus for any significant length of time is exhausting.
And the really, really fun part? Basically any testing my doctors want doing means I can't take my meds beforehand. And, like with diabetics, if I don't take my meds, I'm not legally allowed to drive. All the appointment letters cheerfully tell me I can drive afterwards, but gloss over the fact I can't drive myself TO the appointment.
And, of course, these appointments are really early in the morning (my meds literally keep me alive - they can't deprive me for too long), so the bus I'd have to catch to get there on time doesn't even exist.
And the really, really best part? Because I have to go out of area, I can't get the non-emergency ambulance transport I technically have the right to request, because it's across a regional ambulance service boundary too.
I'm well and truly screwed, every which way. I 100%, at almost 40, have to rely on my parents for transport to my appointments. I literally CANNOT get there without them.
(there are other life dramas associated with that particular thing, but they're not relevant here)
What if I didn't have that support? My literal only option would be a taxi, and who the heck can afford that? It's a 35 mile round trip, plus the waiting time where they can't take another fare. But paying for that wait time would definitely be cheaper than me having to pay for 70 miles of taxi trips (them going back to their home base, then another cab coming out to collect me).
And this is in the UK - the land of (mostly) free healthcare. I can't even imagine what this would be like in the US. I'd probably qualify for Medicare or Medicaid, and thus be luckier than some, but even so...
Cannot believe that it would take two hours, 30 minutes of which are spent walking, to get from my house to the physical therapy clinic on public transit and 13 minutes by car, with construction backups. Except I can believe that. Totally. Because our public transit is a fucking disgrace.
Even if I was willing to take two hours to get somewhere, I can't walk for half an hour so I can get to physical therapy for my fucked up ankles. That's insane.
No, not everyone has "the same 24 hours" and no, we don't need to make cars harder to get or more expensive to run.
When people talk about how it's harder for poor people to access medical care, this is part of it too.
Also, if you can't get to something like PT for pain relief, which your doctor wants to try before meds that actually help...wouldn't buying painkillers off the street seem a lot more reasonable? Like maybe it would be the only option?
I'm not in that situation but boy is it real.

I adore y’shtola now because every single plan she comes up with is nigh-guaranteed to be the most unhinged idea ever thought up by cat or man. Being pursued by cops? COLLAPSE THE TUNNEL AND TELEPORT DIRECTLY INTO HEAVEN. Need to distract the Children of Everlasting Dark? THROW BEEHIVES INTO THEIR HOUSES. Need to perform a diving save into a bottomless pit? TELEPORT DIRECTLY INTO HEAVEN. AGAIN. Need to get on Mt. Gulg but air travel isn’t feasible? GIANT ROBOT. Need a portal to hell? MAKE A DEMON. That doesn’t work? SHOOT A LASER. AT THE MOON. Banger after banger.

#listen. in order to enjoy detective conan you need to either be#1. obsessed with a very specific very japanese brand of detective drama and an equally specific equally japanese brand of slowburn romance#OR 2. a clinically insane fujoshi willing to overlook half-brother incest.#i have an actual literal chart in order to keep track of the character relationships at this point#and i havent even read the manga in a while so im sure its worse now#like half of the cases are either realistically impossible to solve or so fundamentally ridiculous it makes you insane#and another 20% are completely unitelligible to an english audience#because they rely on either codes based on the japanese language or some niche aspect of japanese culture or folklore#that would take several hours of research to fully understand. i know this from experience.#at least one CANONICAL couple are cousins#and it does that shounen manga thing where the author cant lose their steady income stream#so the story is prolonged through increasingly insane and convoluted plot points that only just barely feel coherent.#despite the fact that it's been going for like 30 years now the characters will literally never change or experience growth of any kind#shinichi kudo is an in-universe genius who has been trying and failing to make the same easy decision for THIRTY REAL LIFE YEARS.#i remember when he and ran FINALLY got together. which if i remember correctly was in literally the thousandth chapter#i was completely convinced up until the end of the arc that it was some sort of fakeout#because it is literally the only example in the entire series of those two changing the narrative significantly through their actions#I actually stopped my most recent reread because a major plot twist made so little sense it made me legitimately angry#all that being said. i am the kind of person who enjoys japanese detective dramas and slowburn romance#occasionally the comedy is REALLY good in a ridiculous sort of way#and if you can get yourself to fully buy into the absolutely insane framing circumstances a lot of the major overarching plot is good#but you just. you really have to overlook A LOT to get there. im not sure if i could do it if i hadn't seen the first few seasons as a kid#unfortunately i imprinted on shinichi kudo at a very young age. so. here we are#asks

You know, I'm really really curious to see how post-enlistment BTS is going to sound thematically-wise.
In these past 2/3 years, they all had the chance to get uncomfortably honest and, for lack of a better term, liberal, in the way they explore their own sound, in a way we got to see very little of previously. We got the rapline fleshing out their work, and the vocal line braving into full-fledged solo stuff for the first time.
Hoseok, who keeps refining and pushing the boundaries of his sound. Who found his footing and is making it his own. The boy who was born for the stage finally gets to be on the spotlight as himself, standing on the shoulders of BTS's j-hope but going back to his roots as Hoseok.
Yoongi and Joon, who already have an incredibly rich discography, and are digging deeper into themselves - there's healing, there's catharsis, there's grief for a past self and hope for a new one. Between Yoongi's Suchwita and Joon's work on RPWP, there's a lot of conversations about life as an artist and as an ordinary person, about mental health and identity, the creative process, about leaving your youth behind and coming to terms with adulthood and the loneliness it brings.
Jin, Jimin and Jungkook who have finally ventured into longer bodies of work, who have finally got to explore who they are (as musical artists) outside and beyond the Bangtan umbrella. Jin especially with this upcoming tour and all the entertainment content he's been a part of, and gets to do things his own way.
Tae, who went the other way and invested in his relationships, who showed us more of himself not through music, but through the way he conducts himself with his friends, outside of the stage.
As Bangtan, they have always been very vocal about all of these, but it's the first time they all got to live life aa creatives on their own. There is a newer, better collective understanding of themselves and each other, and a new layer of maturity and transparency, which has been beautiful to witness it unfold.
I'm so very looking forward to see all of this new knowledge and experience being brought into BTS, and how the new chapter will reflect that once they get together again. Personally I feel like the MOTS series was the perfect mesh of their individual identities and sounds (which makes sense since it was the last Big Thing they did pre-covid that wasn't just a compilation of things like Proof. BE was great but had a very distinct sound and purpose under the Covid context), and if their recent solo work is anything to go by, we are going to see a completely new version of BTS that is bound to surpass all we know from them so far.
#Stop The Rain is giving me Big Feelings (and also the recent conversations around MOTS 7 in the context of the recent Sleep Token singles)#also i've been watching Suchwita these days and the Yoongi we know now is on a completely different journey of the one we knew post D-2#if you listen his agust d releases in order in comparison to rm's and j-hope's#you get to see 3 completely different journeys of three guys who have been together for nearly 15 years#and by that i mean there so many things that overlap in them but also are so so distinct from each other#and where they are now -> D-DAY vs Hope On The Street vs RPWP#(and in comparison to the vocal line who are sort of at the start of that personal journey. Jin being in a further ahead state)#like. we're so used to see the 7 together that it feels odd almost to really look at where they stand individually as of now#and how much they have ventured so far. it's almost like we're going back to the very foundations of BTS#and bringing 7 random people together again to make history. with the caveat that have a ridiculously amount of life experience#(both as artists and as individuals) under their belts. and the undeniable love and respect they have for each other unlike 12 years ago#(when they were still at the dawn of who they are now)#idk. i've been feeling quite introspective these days for a number of reasons and new music always makes me withdraw to myself#all of this to say. i miss bts and i'm sooooo exited for their group comeback. we are so so close guys 🥺💜#bts#bangtan#namjoon#jin#yoongi#hoseok#jimin#taehyung#jungkook

Reasons Why the 7seas MDZS is the Inferior Translation
I recently had the misfortune to get my hands on all the 7seas mdzs volumes, so I wanted to make a list of some reasons why I will not be using this translation for any meta unless it is in comparison:
Reason 1: whoever tf's idea it was to translate "rogue cultivator" as "knight-errant":
The founding father of the Jiang Clan of Yunmeng, Jiang Chi, came from a knight-errant background.
—Vol. 3, Chapt. 12: Sandu: The Three Poisons
Reason 2: the fact that I was made to read French with my own two eyeballs in an English translation when the word "title" was perfectly serviceable as a translation:
But recently, he’d gotten used to using his venerated sobriquet every day.
—Vol. 1, Chapt. 7: Morning Dew, 7seas
Reason 3: this reason has been paywalled due to my personal belief that the compensation for inflicting this kind of psyche damage onto myself should be monetary

For the ask game
How do you think the batclan and the league of assasins would react to a consensual rastim au where because of this tim becomes the heir therefore the next demon's head
for the ask game!
heir of Ra's!Tim my BELOVED. i don't care how realistic it is it's real in my heart. i love when they're consensually fucked up together.
i think it's fun if it's sort of a slow descent, for Tim. like he goes into this completely confident he's going to backstab Ra's and come out with clean hands, but he's falling deeper and deeper. Ra's is a far more complex man than everyone has told him, and the longer Tim is entrenched in the League, the more he's drinking the kool-aid. it doesn't help he's already in a grief spiral full of self-isolation and Ra's is showing him all kinds of attention. Tim can't say when it went from "i'm going to stop him in the back" to "huh Ra's' bedroom has more of my stuff than his" bc it was so slow and gradual. maybe the search for Bruce takes longer, maybe Tim finds Bruce but sticks with Ra's for a totally rational reason with a plan he definitely plans to follow through on, eventually. but he gets closer and closer to Ra's and his lack of identity without Robin makes it easy for him to latch onto all the ideas of grandeur Ra's gives him about building a better world. Tim isn't *completely* sold, but he's able to meet Ra's in the middle for most of it
on the side of the League, i think there are a lot of divided opinions. Tim is a hit with younger League members like Prudence, but the more senior members who've been with Ra's for decades are a tad incensed at getting so quickly outranked by a teenager who doesn't even believe in murder. a lot of what Tim believes goes against the very nature of the League but. at its core, the League is loyal to Ra's. any of them would die for him or his cause and they have wholehearted faith in his judgment. because he has a point, the kid is smart, a brilliant strategist, and with some more work, won't be too half-bad in a fight. when Ra's names Tim as his heir, everyone knows it's a very distant future thing (Ra's still has a few more centuries in him and he makes sure they know it) so there's still time to work out the kinks in Tim Drake. Ra's has gone so far as to share the Lazarus Pit with Tim, so *clearly* this isn't some ploy and Ra's is dedicated to him. there's pushback, and i do think there would be some schisms in the League, smaller groups fracturing off and attempting a few coups of the League. even if Tim goes over relatively smoothly, there will be some fights that break out. and Ra's leaves it to Tim to handle, proving a point. making it clear Tim is an equal leader to the League and is more than capable of handling conflict with brutal efficiency. that wins over the last bits of support for Tim, some through genuine respect, some through fear. either way, Ra's is quite proud his choice of partner and heir has proven himself.
the Batfamily on the other hand is a complete shitshow. i think the most positive reaction would be Jason, not necessarily because he approves, but because i think he'd find the ironic joy in watching Tim finally get out from Bruce's thumb and cause absolute chaos. in a way, Bruce really has no place to talk with his history with Talia, so it's not like Tim's completely ex-communicated. they're all constantly trying to get Tim back, trying to convince him how bad of an idea this is and how terrible of a person Ra's is. i think Tim would keep close to the Batfam, partly because he *does* still care about them. Dick, Helena, Cass, Bruce, are all still some kind of family, for Tim. but there would be a clear rift. obviously it'd be the worst for Cass, who has the strongest opinions on morals and was so close to Tim and has to deal with feeling deeply betrayed. i'd have a lot of long conversations between them, where Tim talks about how he's trying his best not to compromise his morals and he's really doing this for the greater good he believes in, while Cass tries to understand his point of view and cope with the betrayal. Steph would also feel pretty betrayed, even when they break up there's a deep love between Tim and Steph and this change for Tim feels out of nowhere. they're all constantly reaching out to Tim, sometimes for serious conversation but sometimes just inviting him to hang out, hoping to get through to him slowly. they still care about each other, but the trust is what's gone. especially from Damian, who never trusted or liked Tim in the first place and would be the most furious he's replaced as an heir by Tim of all people. it's messy, but it's complicated.
for the rest of Tim's social circle, the Titans and whatnot, it's a similar reaction. the more distant of Tim's hero friends have no issue cutting him out, but people like Cassie and Bart and Kon would try to talk to Tim about it because it feels so uncharacteristic of him. they've known Tim a while, sometimes in more personal ways than the Batfam, so this switch up is sudden. i think he'd feel the most guilty about hurting them, just because they're genuinely his oldest friends in the superhero world. but he sticks to his guns and makes it clear he's happy with Ra's, and he's doing this whole League thing, like it or not. they'd still come to Tim's aide if Tim needed it, and god help anyone who hurt Tim's friends bc he'll raise hell for them, but emotionally they're distant from him. it's hard for someone like Kon to reconcile a person willingly working with Ra's given Kon's own parentage. there's still love, but it's messy and complicated. i do think slowly though, Tim would try to get them on his side. it starts with innocuous side comments made about the state of the Justice League/Titans, him not holding them back from going too far in a fight the way he usually would, as sensible team leader. it'd take a slow, long while, but i do think Tim could slowly get at least a couple Titans to be his allies, even if they're not full League members.
all in all, Tim rlly does get to have his cake and eat it too. sure, trust is lost and people aren't as close as they used to be, but Tim loses very few people he genuinely cares about. either they love him too much to abandon him, or he slowly talks them into agreeing with his new moral code. because he's still anti-murder at the end of the day, and it's clear with him at the helm, the League is slightly shifting. even Ra's seems more agreeable these days, far more open to working with heroes without instantly stabbing them in the back like he usually would. Tim can't change who Ra's is and he honestly doesn't want to, but that's the fun of it. the way they're always so opposed and arguing half the time, yet still managing to make it work because they love the chase.

I want to study the brains of westerners who think they can pick a random Japanese word and say things like "there is a concept in Japan called mottainai" because I'm 100% sure no coherent thoughts are happening there but I'd still love to be certain

be honest, how likely do you think richard is to stick one of those apple logo stickers on the back of his google pixel and just hope and pray nobody notices?? i cannot stop thinking about it and laughing, so
- madamepierere/mercy
Oh absolutely. Richard probably would’ve grown up getting whatever phone one of his parents had had before they got a new one and gave the old one to him. And he would’ve been ashamed of it, especially because the whole debate over brands would’ve gotten to him.
The only ones who say anything would be Francis and Bunny, Bunny mostly to make fun of Richard, and not even for the phone but for trying to pretend it was an apple phone.
Henry would find the whole thing ridiculous because he’d still use a landline, and would majorly dislike mobile phones, and the twins simply wouldn’t care. Or wouldn’t show that they care.
(Oh, and the sticker would’ve been from Judy. One day he’s staring at it because she got a new phone, then, “You can have it, or whatever, I was just going to throw it away. Speaking of throwing things away, can you believe what Sarah did with my…”)

For now, it's about 50/50 for whether or not these mysterious people that were included in the new trailer are members of the Gloriously Evolved. For fun, I'm going to break down why these people might be entirely unrelated to Viktor.
Tumblr media
First, their bodies are clearly inlaid with gold, which does not replace their flesh. In the brief scene we get of these people the gold works as a conduit between their melodies and the magic around them. Meanwhile hexcore has entirely transformed Viktor's hand and leg into metal.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We know that Viktor's entire hand and leg have turned completely into metal because not only do his limbs make metal clinking noises and conduct electricity, but the animators on Bridging the Rift confirm it.
Tumblr media
I've also seen some mention that the markings on the faces of these unknown characters represent Viktor's touch when he "healed" them. Upon closer inspection each character does have a five markings on their face, but they're detailed runes rather than Viktor's hand print, implying this may be related to a more intricate ritual rather than Viktor simply laying his hand on them and transforming them with the hexcore.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Really, these people have magic more similar to Mel Medarda. Mel is the one who appears to wear magical gold embedded in her skin to serve as protection magic. What Mel is doing with magic is likely far more simple compared to these people, but it's in the same vein. And that may be the entire point.
Tumblr media
Viktor and his cult are the outliers. Whatever Viktor has done in season 1, and what he will continue to do in season 2 is a divergence (possibly perversion) of how magic should work/be treated in the rest of Runeterra, which makes sense! Viktor literally said he doesn't know what he's doing, he just keeps going.
What's likely happening in this scene is that some sect of mages, maybe they're acolytes of the mage that saved Jayce have become aware of the magical shenanigans in PnZ... and it's bad.
Then again, I haven't seen the leaks. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think this is all worth pointing out. (This is not a solicitation to tell what happens in the leaks).

Hi, hello, just came here to say that I love your fic "trending in Japan". I was wondering if you had headcanons regarding Kenji or Emi or interpersonal relationships and stuff. Many hugs for you.
hi hello, thank you for the encouragement and hugs! After some thought ive realized I do in fact have some hcs about some of the character dynamics in the movie as well as just kenji himself, cause hes captivated my entire brain:
Kenji & Emi
Emi does not have teeth but she does inexplicably have a teething phase. kenji is forced to hide all his (salvaged) fancy cars in the garage bc the corvette's already been chewed to hell and his heart is gonna give out if he has to watch any more classics get wrecked
he reads her bedtime stories. A lot of aesop's fables, because theyre short and fun and hes trying to raise his monster daughter with good morals. emi goes hogwild for these but its unclear if she actually understands what hes saying; kenji's pretty sure she just likes the silly voices he uses for different characters
they go flying together! they go first thing in the morning before breakfast - it helps kenji shake off the grogginess of sleep and emi gets to stretch her wings. shes not able to go very far for very long initially, but as she grows and gets those cardio gainz she almost gets to be quicker than him. they have races and play air tag :)
while she doesnt have the vocal range to speak english herself, it becomes clear that emi does understand it well. (kenji also develops an ear for her chirping/squawks, though body language & facial expressions play a big part in communication for both of them) during her (much later) rebellious phase she'll simply pretend not to know what's being said when kenji is telling her to do something she doesn't wanna do, which frustrates him to no end
Kenji
developed a pretty massive chip on his shoulder after moving to the states. it wasn't just bitterness over his dad staying behind, though that was a part of it. this is canon but he was picked on in school for "how [he talked], how [he looked] and what [he ate]." he felt like he had something to prove to both his father and the world. he threw himself into sports - specifically baseball - and his academics, and he did so well that it forced everyone to shut up about how he was different from them and focus on how he was better than them
^ playing off this: kenji had a bonkers fucking yonkers routine when he was a kid/in highschool. he'd get up hours before school started to practice his swing, go for a ~1hr run, workout, study, etc. He'd go to school, come home, and do it all again. this is exaggerated but my point is that this kid was DETERMINED and had the discipline to see that determination through to the end
didnt have many friends because of all aforementioned things. he had acquaintances, and he was invited to parties and outings and stuff (never went), but he spent most of his free time hanging out with his mom. he never really had a "parents are so embarrassing" phase. he always liked to do anything with his mother: going to the bank, going grocery shopping, watching cheesy telenovelas till ungodly hours in the morning, etc. she was his no.1 supporter, confidant, and best friend
he played for his university's baseball team and got scouted at 19. his mom forced him to finish his bachelor's first so once he graduated with his degree in kinesiology at 21, he was drafted to the dodgers
Kenji & Ami
both of them, up until meeting each other, were totally dedicated to their career (and child) so they had basically 0 time for friends. theyre both borderline losers but theyre juuust good enough at what they do for people to admire them instead of finding them sad and lowkey pathetic
kenji is way more into the idea of being friends than ami is. hes pretty enthusiastic about it; he thinks that they have a kind of rapport, since they share a similar work ethic and are both (unbeknownst to ami) single parents. he calls her to chat abt random things. ami initially isnt superrrr into it; she thinks kenji is kinda lonely and desperate for human connection, & it isnt until her mom points out that she has not spoken to anyone outside of work-related reasons in 10+ years that shes like oh shit, i am also lonely and desperate for human connection. so she grudgingly acquires a friend. theyre both really bad at it
need to clarify that in my mind their dynamic is 95% kenji yapping about work and drama in his personal life (circumventing the 8m baby kaiju hes raising) while ami goes "mhm mhm" and takes notes until kenji notices and is like What are you doing. at which point ami is like...... right . nothing. im listening. and forces herself to put the notepad away. she has a hard time disengaging from the reporter mindset and just hearing something intriguing without turning it into an article. the other 5% are the rare moments where theyre connecting super well - ami's psychoanalyzing the hell out of whatever kenji just said and hes like what are you my therapist. over time she starts opening up to him, too, and eventually theyre comfortable enough to be having philosophical discussions over breakfast just for funsies
before kenji reveals that hes ultraman, ami thinks hes in a gang. he keeps showing up to their lunch "dates" with like bruised eyes and fractured bones and gets all shifty when she tries to ask about what happened. when she eventually confronts him about it, hes so offended that she thinks hed be involved in something like that that he tells her about being ultraman
thats about all i can think of rn, though im sure ill think of more after rotating all the characters in my head for a while. thanks again for stopping in, i appreciate the support :)

Does selkie Alan ever tease SC like "when you were an infant you would get so mad when I became a stick figure because you didn't recognize me" and ruffle its hair?
oh absolutely, he teases the kids a lot about silly things they used to do i think. that's just a parent thing! he tries not to embarrass them too much though. he does tell King stories about them while the two of them are catching up though :]

Just want to thank you for all of this glorious meta! It's kinda crazy to read your pics and go, well this is an EXPERIENCE, and then come to your tumblr and see all those tiny little things that haven't really been addressed yet or you've wondered about? Well, no, actually the author has an extremely detailed world building for why it's like this, they simply have the restraint to not put it in their fic! Absolutely wild.
Like, I was kind of wondering reading pez WHY izuku and 1-a was so famous. And why aizawa is so tired. Like, surely it can't just be Main Character Gravitational Pull in action?? But no, I unknowingly triggered the authors trap card—actually having fully detailed world building that hasn't been inserted into your fic yet, because it hasn't been relevant or necessary. I feel like I tripped on a rock and discovered a gold vein.
(this applies to nhthcth too. I thought Jon claimed desks, badgered people to quit, and got a virus email address out of pettiness, and also the faint hope of saving a person maybe. And probably yes to all of that, but also he's been actively attempting to figure out that dumb contract.)
All this to say, thanks for all this meaty meta! Your readers are eating good.
I’m this close to just saying “fuck it”’and writing the Battle of Yokohama because I love the backstory that much. It’s just filled with so many good moments. I’m trying to resist because if I write that backstory I’m gonna feel compelled to write the rest of them. I have one for Mirio getting his license (that I actually am the most likely to write out of all of them) and one explaining why Dabi left the League that I simply do not have time to write. But maybe the Yokohama and Mirio ones. I’m just eternally succumbing to the desire to make my fics series and I need to pump the breaks on it. Pez was supposed to be the story that I could freely cram in backstory like an overstuffed turkey but even I can’t bring myself to do it if it’s 1) too big of a divergence/not relevant to what’s going on or 2) not the right POV to bring out the information through.
There are some moments from the Battle of Yokohama that have already come out (Shinsou talking about how he watched Izuku bite a man’s ear off once? Battle of Yokohama. And obviously the times where it was explicitly referenced in a post are about that fight) or will come out in pez, so I haven’t talked about them on tumblr, but there’s so many fantastic moments that just wouldn’t be right to present in the fic. I’m so tempted. It’s such a fun story.
But yeah. I wanted the overwhelming attention on Izuku & Co. because I wanted Tiny Izuku to just be. Crushed by the sheer size of him when he found out what happened. Izuku is one of the most famous and beloved people out there, and he’s just a deku. How could he expect anyone to give a shit about this guy killing him? Everyone already wants him dead so he’ll stop being a burden—this guy made his death matter.
But I needed a reason for them to be as stupidly famous as they are. So I decided class 2a just had like. The most ridiculous two weeks of their life in their second year. Part of the reason why they’re not super aware of what made them famous was that so much goddamn stuff happened in that two week span. There’s a lot to pick from. The Sports Festival. Bakugou getting his first meme and also a medically induced coma. Suddenly everyone wants to fight Izuku about Mirio even more now and he is always down to fight for his boy. Oh fuck oh fuck time to have like ninety near death experiences and an extended hospitalization. Huh why is Mr. Aizawa unplugging the WiFi router and confiscating the tv. It’s probably nothing.
And Jon. Oh I love him. He’s just a rat in an electrified maze trying to figure out why all the doors are zapping him. He’s so tragic to me.
Thank you for your kind words!! I really appreciate you!

had a very nice realization about peace, especially spiritual peace, the other day. (Been brewing for a while.) and it’s just: peace is for the non-peaceful.
#very obvious of course#but it’s just—-#it’s hard to explain how messy I feel all the time#in all areas of my life#what a grubby little gremlin I feel I am#with my unfinished projects and my half-done things and my unsorted through internal life#and my room that needs vacuuming and my bathroom that needs dusting and the text messages that need answering#and the relationships that I feel need attention or fixing or solving#and tbh counseling has been helpful simply because my counselor is just like ‘girl if you don’t chill’#(kind)#like. she’d just like you’re doing FINE#everyone doesn’t have the dishes finished or everything in order at all times#so I’ve been able to kind of see the ridiculously high expectations for myself I just walk around with#and/or just the pressure I feel to have everything DONE#but even all of that aside it has just been dawning on me that—I can have peace in those contexts#not only once everything is ‘sorted’#because it’s not that I don’t think I deserve it or whatever! that’s not exactly the issue#it’s just literally my brain is like ‘peace is for people who have their shit together’#‘and that isn’t you’#and it just !!!!! isn’t true!!!!!!!!#even if I were as grubby as I think I am (and sometimes I think I AM)#it doesn’t matter. you can still know peace. God still loves me#in the middle of the mess#my WORST states have been when I felt like I had to get myself spiritually in order before God could come#sort of dusted and vacuumed metaphorically speaking I mean#and of course there is work to do#but that happens only with God and because of God and IN God#so I don’t have to wait#can’t explain how often I have heard people talk about peace and been like#‘not for me though’ but it actually IS lol. it I s. beCAUSE I am grubby!!!!!!!!

given how much the points system and even the number of races in a single season has changed in f1 it is beyond ridiculous to start praising people for "having the most career points". mclaren this is about you
