One of the nice things about being a The Magnus Archives/The Magnus Protocol listener is that when the language discourse that orbits the transmisogyny discourse spins up, and someone uses the term "TMA/TME" meaning "the terms transmisogyny affected/transmisogyny exempt" my brain has a lovely little moment of going "Ah, yes, The Magnus Archives/The Magnus... Experience?" And I get to have a little chuckle to myself about whatever the Magnus Experience might be (my bet- spooky escape room)

This is a great Alice!

I absolutely adore Alice as a character and I want only good things for her and I fully expect very bad things for her, and in real life I'd find her incredibly fucking grating unless we had An History, and this is by design. Soft on the inside, hard on the outside. So confident and punchy and needful.

She's the character of all time.

I love logging onto tumblr dot com every Thursday to scroll through the TMA/TMP tags and see what people have been saying about the new episodes. Love seeing everyone’s live reactions and real-time theories and thoughts! The fanart that’s made in immediate response! The memes people make so fast about the episodes!! It’s so fun. So! On my Magnus Archives bullshit recently.

I think fears work in an odd way. Like attraction, almost? I think everyone can divide the fears into five categories. Here are mine!

Not actually scared of that: The Dark, The End

Find it more repellent than scary: The Corruption, The Flesh, The Web

Yeah, I get that, pretty scary stuff: The Buried, The Hunt, The Stranger

Way too fucking scary: The Lonely, The Slaughter, The Vast

Equal amounts COMPELLING and scary: The Desolation, The Eye, The Spiral

And I think that last category is the ones you could serve. I am fascinated and terrified by the idea if being watched and the power of being the unobserved watcher. By invisible fire and the destructive power therein. By not knowing if it's real or not, but also not CARING.

I could be a friend to those powers in a way I could not if, for example, my mind was pounded flat by spinning through space as the earth flashes top-to-bottom through my visor. Over and over. Smaller every time.
