As the US election closes in and the final states take to the polls, I want to remind people to turn out and protest.

Yep, protest. Strike, disrupt, be out there on the street regardless of who you voted for or who wins. I expect to see you all out there demanding; access to abortion nation wide, protections against discrimination, free universal healthcare, a free Palestine, anti war, prison abolition, to increase the minimum wage, and for a US free of the electoral college and that counts votes as votes.

Yes, you can say "you should vote for Harris" and do so as much as you like, but do not forget the power you have through your own everyday actions away from the polls and that of protesting. Do not use the excuse that your right to vote means it's somehow more foundational or important than the right to protest. You have the ability to create direct action and that is so so important, please don't just expect a rich representative to stick to their promises every time you vote; you have power too, never forget that.

This system will not change until we, the people, make it. There is NO representative that can ever change the system that allowed them in, and likewise; this system will never allow a candidate that would stop it from continuing and/or ensuring its designated purpose of oppression and subjugation. Resist, regardless of the results.

remember through all of this that it's important to support victims. also remember through all of this that it's important to do outside research if you're skeptical of a claim or a story that seems fabricated. believing things blindly is how things like the situation with kwite and orion happened. it's not disrespectful to research things you're unsure of, not doing so is how misinfo spreads, and with the waycthis misinfo spreading resulting in actual innocent people being harassed? yeah, no. give support where support is due, but critical thinking is important as well.

I don’t think people utilize Dick spending the latter half of his childhood under Bruce’s guardianship enough. Like, yes, his core childhood memories are in the circus with his parents, but kids don’t often have a grasp on money until they’re in the double digits.

I saw a post where Tim just pulls out a couple hundred dollar bills, and I want that for Robin-era Dick too. Dick didn’t realize that his weekly allowance was enough to feed a small family for a whole month because all of his civilian classmates have approximately the same if not higher allowances because they’re all in the same wealth bracket and a $100 pineapple is a perfectly normal visiting gift. To add a little bit of flavor, Dick generally has a very skewed perception of how much things should cost. $100 pineapple? Completely normal. It’s just a nice gift. $400 sweater? They’re not items he had to think about purchasing as a kid, especially since the circus kids cycled through hand-me-downs. He generally assumed that all clothes are investment pieces (quiet wealth) and had zero concept of fast fashion. The fancy crystal chandelier? Definitely expensive, and he really shouldn’t break it, but it’s not like it would cost an arm and a leg to replace, right? Bruce built him an indoor trapeze set in the next week.

But $17 ticket to the local movie theatre? Horrendously overpriced. He vividly remembers the circus tickets were only $3 per adult and free for children under 12. Meanwhile, carnival food is like $20 for a corn dog. Dick always hesitates when paying for the movies because it feels like highway robbery, but he doesn’t bat an eye at the movie theater food prices.

I think it’s generally funny if the three Robins who’ve led their respective Teen Titans all have this little “quirk” where they just unironically carry hundred dollar bills. Tim is from the same social circles as Bruce, and Damian is something along the lines of a literal prince.
