one thing i wish for in pnf is baljeet having a desi friend group. he only started being friends with the main group after s1 began, they weren't close before. so who were his friends before? the desi kids he grew up around because his family is very clearly still involved with their traditional culture and that includes fostering close relationships! i refuse to believe he didn't have any friends because that's just not how desis work, the desi community in any given area is very much intertwined. at the very least he has a bunch of family friends/relatives who all get together very frequently at parties and whatnot. even if they aren't "proper" friends i know he has a desi peer group hidden away somewhere.

I am watching "My Happy Marriage" for the first time and I really want to like it but it's hard to get past the amateur level writing, and the unnecessary magical element. As a period romance it also seems to lack any adherence to the time period it chose, and it's a shame cuz I think it would be far more interesting if it solved it's drama by adhering to the societal rules surrounding marriage and laws at the time.

I'm powering through it but it feels like I'm reading a poorly researched fanfic.

hey can i ask your opinions on thrushpelt? just anything you wanna say about him :)

yea i like thrushpelt!! ive admittedly grown kind a bit of sick of some of the fandom's "soft boi who is sooo nice and perfect" characters lately (fernsong, alderheart, gray wing etc) but it hasn't really applied to thrushpelt at all i think he's a real one. i enjoy the tragedy of him viewing the kids as his own and then losing them while being unaware they are still alive in another clan (until the point of people demonising bluestar for it anyways. yeah that was fucked up of her and that's what makes it interesting. can't hate her for it personally) and also the headcanon/interpretation i've seen around where he DOES figure it out and keeps up the secret regardless. oughh. i know they're inevitably out there but im also glad i don't really see people ever acting like bluestar Owed thrushpelt romantic reciprocation because that's a miserable goddamn mindset i've seen both within the warrior cats fandom (dovewing in regards to bumblestripe, or pre-TBC squilf and ashfur) and in numerous other fandoms (listen idc that it's a silly cutscene in a children's game if i see someone post that take about the super mario odyssey ending one more time im going to get violent!!) i don't really like them as a romantic reciprocated ship all that much for this reason as i feel like it undercuts that idea of healthy rejection they're associated with. i do think people give him wayyy too much credit for responding Not Badly to rejection tho. how low is this goddam bar LOL. i like the idea of them staying friends, despite the missing kit thing. also i like bird prefixes which is always bonus points unless you're crowfeather.

Pargi the meek is an unusually thin and nervous troll from the game Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup. DCSS is a free open source rougelike game that has been constantly updating since 1997. It's incredible and you should play it.

Anyway, back to Pargi. He is usually found in the sewers and is super weak and apparently lives in the sewers or the higher dungeon floors as a result of being bullied by other trolls.

Now, I would already just let Pargi ruin my run because of how endeared I am to him, but it gets better.

Very VERY rarely, Pargi will show up as Pargit the mighty, an unusually strong troll (I have never seen this.) And this is the in-game flavor text when you inspect Pargit. 👇

So basically Pargit will instantly fuck you up with his insanely strong claws, large rocks that he throws, and his astonishing +27 HP per turn regeneration.

I am sobbing. I love Pargi/Parghit so much. I will be making fan art of Pargi even though not a single soul on Earth loves this stupid, weak, bullied little sewer troll like I do.

I'm a grown ass adult, and something about this little troll has really done it to me. ;; Every dungeon run I do, I simply want to find Pargi. Winning is no longer the goal.
