Please help me pay my cats medical bills! 🏥🦷💊

My two cats require dental (probably extractions), I am disabled, and don't have the means of affording this even with all the penny-pinching I do. They are both seniors and are both on medications, special diets, regular vet trips—its very financially crippling and now with this bill for TWO dental work is simply too much.
They are literally like my children, and mean the world to me.
If you can donate, even the smallest amount helps! Please reblog if you can! 🩷✨

Got Bandit back from the emergency veterinary hospital today. He has been getting treated for a urinary crystals blockage that developed over the weekend. He will be king of the upstairs bedroom while the rest of my critters (2 dogs and 1 cat) are peasants of the downstairs.

Good news is that he loves the new permanent prescription diet. Bad news is my bank account and credit card say ouch. I'm 🤏 *this close* to sage-ing all my critters because they all decided to collectively be expensive this season.

Request for catheter aftercare advice
Ok Tumblr hive mind, I'm thinking some of y'all have experience with this, and I doubt most of my Facebook friends do. I LOATHE urinary catheters - they're agony going in, seriously uncomfortable inside, agony coming out, and then I typically can't pee for a good few hours afterwards because my urethra hurts so much. I know this because I have occasionally needed catheters for interstitial cystitis diagnosis & treatment stuff. My first urogyn was horrible and liked using them to the point that he once catheterized me without warning or consent because a bladder scanner showed that I was retaining urine, so I have some medical trauma there.
Anyway, the actual question: today I got Botox in my bladder, and though my current urogyn is great and told me exactly what he was doing with every step, it still royally sucked. 6 hours later my urethra still hit around a 7 on the pain scale when I peed, and it hasn't calmed down much since. The only thing I could think of to do to reduce the pain was take an ibuprofen, and I'm not convinced that's done much. If the Botox works, I'll be doing this every 7-12 months, and I'd like it to suck WAY less. Does anybody have any ideas for preventive measures or aftercare that will reduce the pain of this procedure?

Ok, so I'm gonna add my experience
Back when I was 16 I had to have my kidney removed. And I remember lying there while they set up everything (without my glasses on so everything was fking blurry) and one of the last things I heard was the assistant telling the doc that I had an 'abnormally large pelvis'
All I remember thinking was 'okaaay, wtf dude?'
(And also on an unrelated note, as I was drifting off the doc let me hold his hand until I was totally out <3)

#i remember when i was 16#and i had to have my kidney removed#one of the last things i remember hearing#was that i had an abnormaly large pelvis#and i remember thinking wtf?#and as i drifted off the doc left me hold his hand <3#until i was totally out#he really was the only good doc i ever had#and unfortunately he only specializes in urinary/kidney problems

Everything You Need to Know About Urethral Stricture and Its Treatment
Urethral stricture is a urological condition that can severely impact a person's quality of life. It refers to the narrowing of the urethra—the tube that carries urine out of the body—due to injury, infection, or inflammation. If left untreated, it can lead to serious urinary problems and even kidney damage. Fortunately, effective and advanced urethral stricture treatment in Varanasi is available at Omkar Urology Hospital, under the expert care of Dr. Amit Kumar.

What is Urethral Stricture?
A urethral stricture occurs when scar tissue forms inside the urethra, restricting the normal flow of urine. This narrowing can be partial or complete and is more common in men than in women.
Common Causes:
Previous urinary tract infections
Injury or trauma to the pelvis or urethra
Catheter insertion or surgery
Sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
Inflammatory conditions
Symptoms of Urethral Stricture
Recognizing the symptoms early can help in timely diagnosis and treatment. Common symptoms include:
Decreased urine stream
Difficulty or pain during urination
Frequent urination
Incomplete bladder emptying
Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
Blood in urine (hematuria)
If you’re experiencing any of these signs, consult a urologist immediately for proper evaluation and treatment.
Diagnosis of Urethral Stricture
At Omkar Urology Hospital Varanasi, Dr. Amit Kumar follows a thorough diagnostic approach to accurately detect the presence and severity of a urethral stricture. This may include:
Physical Examination
Urine Flow Test (Uroflowmetry)
Ultrasound or MRI Imaging
Retrograde Urethrogram (RUG)
Cystoscopy – a direct visual examination using a scope
Urethral Stricture Treatment in Varanasi
Thanks to advancements in urology, several effective treatment options are available. The best treatment depends on the length, location, and severity of the stricture.
1. Urethral Dilation
A non-surgical procedure where the stricture is stretched using special dilators. It's often used for short, simple strictures.
2. Internal Urethrotomy (VIU)
A minimally invasive endoscopic procedure where the stricture is cut using a scope inserted through the urethra. It offers faster recovery but may require repeat procedures.
3. Urethroplasty
This is a surgical reconstruction of the urethra and offers a more permanent solution. Types include:
Excision and Primary Anastomosis (EPA): Best for short strictures.
Substitution Urethroplasty: Involves using grafts or flaps for longer or complex strictures.
4. Laser Treatment
At Omkar Urology Hospital, advanced laser technology is available for precise, less painful, and quicker recovery in suitable stricture cases.
Why Choose Omkar Urology Hospital for Urethral Stricture Treatment?
Expertise of Dr. Amit Kumar – Renowned urologist with years of experience in treating complex urethral conditions.
Advanced Diagnostic Tools – Ensures accurate assessment and personalized treatment.
Minimally Invasive Options – Faster recovery and less discomfort.
Patient-Centered Care – Compassionate approach and comprehensive post-treatment support.
Tips for Preventing Urethral Stricture
While not all cases can be prevented, you can lower your risk by:
Avoiding unnecessary catheterization
Treating infections promptly
Practicing safe sex
Avoiding trauma to the pelvic region
Conclusion
Urethral stricture is a manageable condition when diagnosed early and treated appropriately. Urological Health for Women: Common Issues and Treatments
Urological Health for Women is a critical aspect of overall well-being that often goes overlooked. While many associate urology with men’s health, urology in women is equally important. From bladder issues to pelvic floor disorders, understanding the common women’s urological issues and their treatments is essential for maintaining good health. In this comprehensive guide, we will explore various aspects of female urinary health and discuss the women’s urology treatments available at Healix Hospitals. Understanding Urological Health for WomenUrological Health for Women encompasses the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of conditions affecting the urinary tract and pelvic floor. Unlike men, women are more prone to certain urological issues due to differences in anatomy, such as the shorter urethra, which increases the risk of urinary tract infections (UTIs). Female urology care addresses these unique challenges and aims to provide effective solutions to improve women’s urinary tract health. At Healix Hospitals, our specialists in female urology care are dedicated to addressing a wide range of women’s urological issues. Whether you are dealing with bladder problems, recurrent UTIs, or pelvic floor disorders, we offer personalized treatment plans tailored to your needs.Common Urological Problems in WomenCommon urological problems in women can vary in severity, from mild discomfort to debilitating conditions that significantly impact quality of life. Here are some of the most prevalent women’s urological issues:Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs): UTIs are among the most common women’s urological issues, with millions of cases diagnosed each year. These infections occur when bacteria enter the urinary tract, leading to symptoms such as burning during urination, frequent urges to urinate, and cloudy or strong-smelling urine. UTI prevention for women includes good hygiene practices, staying hydrated, and urinating after sexual activity.Overactive Bladder (OAB): OAB is a condition characterized by sudden, intense urges to urinate, often accompanied by incontinence. It can significantly disrupt daily life and is a key focus in female urology care. Treatment options include lifestyle modifications, medication, and sometimes surgery.Pelvic Floor Disorders: The pelvic floor muscles support the bladder, uterus, and rectum. Weakening of these muscles, often due to childbirth, aging, or obesity, can lead to conditions such as pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence. Pelvic floor disorders in women are a major aspect of urological health for women and require specialized care
