Hi hi ! “Doubles ideology” is a bit hard to explain without IRL ideology & whatnot first , so my ramble about what both of those are will be under the cut !

“IRLs” or “Delusional Attachments” online are people who spread medical misinformation about delusions , saying they ARE a fictional character — which can be a real delusion , but the false part is when they say they’re “actively aware this is an active delusion” — hence calling it a “delusional” attachment rather than an unhealthy one , because you cannot be actively aware of a delusional episode , only when you come out of it .

Now , a “double” to them is anyone they , or similar groups , perceive as “the exact same character�� , which further perpetuates anti-recovery rhetoric & medical misinformation — for not just delusions , but also people who assume introjects in complex dissociative disorders “are” the “actual characters” and thus treat them like the characters rather than symptoms of a disorder — and additionally , it just dictates others’ identities based off assumptions , and feeds into unhealthy beliefs !
