With December just around the corner, it was time to give some thought to our annual holiday creative event, but the more we thought, the more we realized we really kind of liked last year's event. So, under the trusty adage of don't fix what isn't broken, we decided to do another holiday grab bag!

The rules are the same as last year: choose a number, we'll give you a word prompt, you use the prompt to make something about White Collar. Pretty simple, right? And, as always, we're open to any sort of creation whatsoever, whether it be art, fic, music, podcasts--anything at all. We just love to see White Collar fans using all their delicious creativity to make new things about Neal and Peter and the gang.

Please send your top THREE choices, just in case your preferred number has already been claimed.

You're free to submit multiple entries, but please don't claim more than two at a time. You can always come back for more once those two are fulfilled. (And let us know if you want one or two prompts, since we're asking you to send us three numbers.)

There are 31 prompts (we'll add more if they all get claimed), but the prompt numbers don't have any relationship to the days of the month; post/share any time in December.

An AO3 collection will be created in a day or two, but it will be unrevealed until December 1. Feel free to add your works whenever you'd like.

While the prompts are definitely winter/holiday-themed, you're welcome to interpret them in a non-holiday manner if you wish.

In this moment, we see the final shift in Caitlyn’s priorities and sense of self. She's been slipping out of her rage and hatred for awhile, but even seeing Jinx in the commune made her a little spicy again.

Still, this moment speaks to me as ALMOST as powerful as the jail cell. The person she's been hunting for months slams right into her shoulder and Caitlyn doesn’t even look, doesn’t tear her eyes away from Vi, who should have been her beacon and priority all this time. Who she WON'T tear her eyes away from again.

This moment is like a second long and I think about it daily

Girl help- why are some of y'all acting like Li Haolin kills off every woman he writes. Like, I'm not here to defend him on everything in regards to how he handles women cuz I do have my own minor gripes, but that thing in particular isn't true. Plenty of the Link Click women lived/got a happy ending and there's still women who are major characters who haven't died yet, so uh- for those not familiar with his other works, please don't fall for some of the doomerism going on about tbhx women who haven't even showed up yet.

Thinking about Olrox as a character who craves intimacy so, so bad. Like, not necessarily physical/sexual intimacy, but emotional intimacy.

Like the morning after scene with Mizrak, how he's prodding at him with all these questions, but Mizrak just rebuffs him over and over. The way they're hardly even questions with useful answers. ("What do you think? Are you sure this is right?"). The way he so fondly recalls his late lover before Mizrak throws "because he was a vampire," in his face. The way he tears up when Mizrak rejects him. The way he tries to forge a tentative bond with Tera after she gets turned.

Like we see him put up an aloof front with Drolta, try to maintain the upper hand in every interaction he has, try to protect himself, but uggghh this man is soooooo lonely it makes me sick????

And like, he must be acutely aware of just how lonely he is!! Because he had this great love!! He had someone he could share that closeness and emotional intimacy with!!! And Julia Belmont killed him!!!!!! 🫠

I really want to see a more fucked up version of Charlie in canon. Like, okay, I am a die-hard for sweet bubbly girls in media. But I always see how some people make Charlie actually, oh I dunno... demonic? And it's so refreshing for her type of character. I could honestly see her having low empathy (and we kinda see this with how she handled Angel's situation or even Vaggie's nervousness about taking control on an activity). An exploration of that trait (if it was intended) would be interesting to see for a protagonist, especially when her main goal is about helping others. I would love to see her actually have a level of difficulty in understanding others' feelings from the other residents, sinners, and even her father.

But give her a fucked up side. Not a "she gets more power when she's angey uwu", but a "oh, she's a little fucked in the head". It would give so much to her character that she just doesn't have.

@/murmurmurena (don't wanna bother them so slash there we go) has some fun ideas with Charlie. I highly encourage people to check their stuff out! So many fun dark ideas with her character while also still keeping to her canon personality pretty well! Personally, I think Charlie being a bit more naive to her own messed up traits would work best but her also being aware of these traits can make for some interesting character for her.

THIS FIC, "A Game Between You and I". RIGHT HERE WITH THE FIRST CHAPTER. A bit of spoil for the fic here: but I love how they handled Charlie’s absolute ignorance as to why the idea of Russian roulette is horrifying to Angel Dust. It doesn't feel like her being intentionally malicious or aware that she's the odd man out here. This is also a pretty old fic going by only the pilot, but the point still stands that it was such a fun take for her character!

Charlie is one of my favorite characters in the show in part of the POTENTIAL she could have as being the most bubbly sweetheart character while also being the most messed up character in the show. I can't say I have strong confidence with the show's writing and fully expect them to stick with Charlie being the "nice girl but oh no, don't get her angry or she gets scarwy". Which isn't bad for a character mind you, there's just so much more potential to Charlie outside of that trope, especially when you get into the theories of her either being a doll, Roo's biological daughter, or what have you. And for the MAIN CHARACTER of the show, it would be not only interesting but also bring the spotlight back to her.

There's really no question that the side characters steal the show, particularly all the male characters. If I'm honest, Charlie does not feel like she gets a lot of love from the show itself when she's supposed to be the main character. She feels far more flat compared to the rest of the characters (again, the male cast in this "female-lead" show has more depth than most of the female cast currently. I wouldn't be pointing this tidbit concerning the genders of characters if it weren't for the fact Viv defended Helluva's lack of development with their female cast by saying "Hazbin is a female-lead show and Helluva is a male-lead" and Hazbin ended up with it not feeling female lead (to me) and the male cast just completely stealing the show. I don't normally care about gender stuff, especially since I do personally lean interest towards male characters. But using one show as a defense for poor development of the female characters, and then that show not really holding up with no very interesting well-developed feeling female characters irritates me. It's just very clear that these shows don't seem to care much about the female cast :/)

If you like how Charlie is written that's totally fine. PERSONALLY, I just think they're missing so much opportunity with her character by just making her the standard female character type. I honestly don't have a lot of faith they'll actually do something with Charlie's character though. She's a pretty static character in S1 being the same from start to end. Not changing or learning anything to create any development. What does the end of season Charlie do that start of season Charlie wouldn't do? Fight back? Because we see with the pilot (which is the “first episode”) that Charlie does fight people if pushed like with Katie Killjoy and even Valentino. Static characters can work in media depending on the show or their role. But Charlie is the MC of a show about “bettering one's self”. So to have her as a static with not a lot of strong dilemmas for herself (like we see with Angel Husk Al and even Vox) seems silly. Plus, considering Hazbin is telling a whole story and it's not a fun episodic thing, characters are expected to grow on some level. Or else, what was the point of their hero's journey?

He's not planning anything evil! But he is being manipulative and secretive about it

He know some of the stuff he does is bad, but he doesn't feel like he can change that much for the better, so he's gonna do it anyways!

I think the worst things about what he's doing is being super secretive about it and lying to get what he wants, but he's being like that because he knows that if he screws up this time

He can't reset

And it's gonna stay with him

He's not trying to get rid of one of the only persons that actually talks to him and spends time with him! But he's really really curious about Papyrus' past

It was a fun BOSJ overall this year, but now that we're towards the end, I have some thoughts about the upcoming final.

Commentary made it clear that a theme of this year's tournament was age and generations. Given that, Fujita vs Yoh is a fitting final matchup. If he wins, Fujita will be the youngest to ever win the BOSJ. Yoh wouldn't be even close to the oldest to win it (I believe that would be Desperado at 40) but he is at a very different stage in his career than Fujita.

Yoh is 36, turning 37 in June. That's an age where he really should be hitting his stride and reaching his peak as a wrestler, with an awareness that his time isn't unlimited. But at this point, Yoh has yet to win a singles anything in his career. No singles belt, no singles tournament - he's only found success as a member of a tag team. In singles accomplishments, he's been surpassed not just by people in his own dojo class, like his ex-partner Sho, but by wrestlers younger than him, like Hiromu, and younger wrestlers from later dojo classes than him, like Wato.

This is actually pretty similar to where Desperado was at that age. Desperado won his first singles title at 37 - if Yoh wins BOSJ, he'll be a week or two shy of 37 by Dominion when he would presumably get his title shot.

It's easy to see the similarities between the two of them here. But personally, I think there's a big difference in both their ability and in their popularity. Desperado was always great and had immense potential that had been visible for years and that his booking didn't allow him to fully express, while I think Yoh has shown us who he is as a wrestler and is pretty much where he belongs right now. Desperado also had a very dedicated fanbase even when he was still trapped in the NJPW midcard. I'm not sure that Yoh has that either. And finally, Desperado's matches with Kasai served as a catalyst to make more people see just what he was truly capable of - I don't think that Yoh has been able to do anything similar to break himself out of his current position.

In my opinion, winning the BOSJ is a much more important accomplishment than even winning the IWGP Junior Heavyweight belt. The belt can change hands any number of times, but there's only one BOSJ per year. And this is Fujita's last chance to be the youngest guy to win it.

I do think it's more likely that Fujita wins this, for multiple reasons. But if I'm being honest, I'm more focused on hoping that Desperado can hold onto that belt as he goes into his singles match against Kasai on June 24, so I'm not exactly sure who to root for in this finals match.
