Digital Marketing Consulting Firms That Turn Analytics into Action
Every business collects data. But not every business knows how to turn that data into meaningful action. That’s where expert digital marketing consulting firms step in. While data is everywhere, from website traffic to click-through rates and social media metrics, it is often underutilized or misinterpreted. A trusted digital marketing consulting agency bridges the gap between analytics and strategy by turning raw numbers into smart decisions that drive results.
Analytics is the compass that guides digital growth. But without expert interpretation and execution, it is just noise. With the right digital marketing consultants by your side, those numbers become powerful tools to fuel campaigns, refine customer journeys, and increase ROI.
Why Data Without Action Is a Missed Opportunity
Businesses today are surrounded by digital metrics. From Google Analytics and CRM dashboards to social media insights and paid ad performance, the volume of data is overwhelming. The real challenge is knowing what to look for, how to interpret the patterns, and what to do next.
Common issues include:
Tracking the wrong KPIs
Misreading audience behavior
Wasting ad spend due to poor targeting
Having no clear digital funnel or conversion path
Lacking integration between tools and platforms
This is where digital marketing consulting firms deliver real value. They don’t just collect data, they apply it, align it with goals, and convert insights into impactful marketing strategies.
What Does It Mean to Turn Analytics into Action?
Turning analytics into action means using data to shape your decisions across all areas of digital marketing, from content and SEO to social media, paid campaigns, and user experience. A professional digital marketing consulting agency begins by identifying which data points matter most to your business goals.
They analyze performance trends, highlight bottlenecks, and uncover opportunities for growth. More importantly, they recommend and implement changes based on what the numbers are telling them.
For example:
If bounce rates are high on key landing pages, they’ll optimize page design and content.
If ad clicks are high but conversions are low, they’ll test new CTAs or refine the targeting.
If organic traffic is growing but not converting, they’ll adjust your SEO strategy to align with intent.
Services Offered by Data-Driven Digital Marketing Consulting Agencies
1. Advanced Analytics Audits
Leading digital marketing consulting firms begin with a full audit of your analytics platforms. They ensure your tracking setup is correct, your goals are configured, and your attribution models are accurate.
2. KPI Development and Dashboard Setup
They help businesses define meaningful KPIs tied to real objectives, not just vanity metrics. They also build custom dashboards using Google Data Studio, Looker, or HubSpot to make insights accessible.
3. Audience Behavior Analysis
Understanding how users interact with your brand is key to optimizing conversion paths. A digital marketing consulting agency will use tools like Hotjar, Crazy Egg, and GA4 to map journeys and reduce friction points.
4. Campaign Performance Optimization
Agencies use analytics to refine ad targeting, bidding strategies, and creative decisions across platforms like Google Ads, Meta Ads, and LinkedIn. Every change is based on real performance data, not guesswork.
5. Segmentation and Personalization
By studying user behavior and demographics, consultants help segment your audience and tailor campaigns to different personas. This leads to better engagement and more conversions.
6. A/B Testing and Experimentation
Testing is a continuous part of any data-driven marketing strategy. Agencies run split tests on landing pages, email subject lines, ad creatives, and form placements to improve results based on analytics.
Why Businesses Need Digital Marketing Consulting Firms for Analytics
While tools like Google Analytics or Facebook Insights are powerful, most businesses only scratch the surface. They may look at traffic spikes or ad clicks but miss deeper insights that could significantly impact growth.
A digital marketing consulting agency provides:
Strategic interpretation of data
Cross-platform integration and tracking
Real-time decision-making
Continuous improvement cycles
Clear reporting and recommendations
These firms are not just advisors — they are action partners who use data to plan, implement, and refine digital strategies.
Real Results from Real Data
When analytics is used properly, the impact is immediate and measurable. Businesses experience:
Lower customer acquisition costs
Increased website conversions
Better ad spend efficiency
Higher customer retention rates
Smarter content creation
Digital marketing consulting firms help businesses break free from guesswork and create marketing systems that are scalable, repeatable, and performance-driven.
Final Thoughts
Analytics can be your most powerful digital asset — but only if you know how to use it. Partnering with a results-oriented digital marketing consulting agency ensures that your data is not just stored but activated. Whether you are looking to increase ROI, improve lead quality, or enhance the customer experience, turning analytics into action is the next step in your digital growth.
Make every click, impression, and scroll count with expert insights from digital marketing consulting firms that know how to make data work for you.

Rajagiri Information Systems - Best SEO Company in Madurai, specializes in identifying little-known causes of low rankings and implementing measures that work. Here are some of those totally comprehensive steps pretty important for you to outline:
1. Audit your website
A complete website audit exposes some of the technical issues like broken links, slow loading speeds, and poor mobile responsiveness. Fixing these issues not only improves user experience but also ensures the search engines crawl effectively through your site.
2. Optimize On-Page SEO
In on-page SEO, it is all about placing meta tags, header structures, and keyword placements. Make sure your content is well organized. Use natural keyword placement, strong title tags as well as effective meta descriptions. Don't leave out image optimizations through proper alt text and compressing images for decreased loading time.
3. Improve Quality of Content
Rankings can suffer from low-quality or irrelevant content. Create attractive out-of-the-ordinary content that meets your audience's needs. Always update stale content, and like it, use a combination of blogs, infographics, and video content to keep the audience engaged.
4. Create Top-notch Backlinks for your Website
Backlinks from reputable sites will tell the search engines that your site is indeed credible. Try to get links through guest blogging, partnerships, and creating shareable content. Spammy and low-quality backlinks usually do harm.

Criminology wasn't the first class you'd voluntarily take. It was interesting enough, really. But not at all necessary for your degree.
You loved true crime as much as the next college-aged girl. That's what your excuse would be, at least, when people would inevitably ask why the hell you signed up for the class. But the real reason?
You'd seen him on campus a couple times, only a semester ago. His jagged yet put-together exterior intrigued you. His eyes met yours, if only for a split second. He was perceptive. Very perceptive.
The third time you saw him meeting with the dean, you knew you were hooked. You felt yourself mouth the syllables of his name. Heard the sound falling off your lips in a whispered tone as you overheard him introduce himself to the Criminal Law professor.
Doctor Spencer Reid.
You'd done your research, as any self-respecting student would. He was an FBI agent working for the Behavioral Analysis Unit. He was a proper genius with several degrees under his belt, even when he was your age.
He wasn't anymore, your age.
A notice got posted on the college's website a few days after your last sighting. Doctor Spencer Reid of the FBI would teach several seminars this semester, with voluntary attendance and limited availability.
You signed up in a heartbeat. You told yourself it was because he was an enigma, a puzzle for you to solve. His posture, eyes and even how he spoke screamed 'Solve me!' You, someone notorious for your ability to read people, couldn't figure him out. It frustrated you. Everything about him invited you to try and peel back the layers to let you see inside.
Were you maybe a tad too obsessed with the man without ever having spoken to him? Obviously, but you couldn't help yourself. You loved a good mystery. And this was one gorgeous mystery.
You tried to be deliberate about everything when you entered the first seminar. Don't spare the professor a second glance, but be genuinely interested. Don't hang off every word falling from his lips but raise your hand often enough to appear engaged. You wanted him to be the one to notice you first, even if it was anything but the truth.
But Professor Reid was a professor in his field for a good reason. He caught your calculated gaze a few times. Watched as you schooled your expression to perfection. Spencer had to admit, you were good. But he was better. He noticed how your stare dropped to his hands as he moved them while speaking. Noticed how the pattern of your breathing was unnatural. If his hearing was superhuman, he would've heard your heart beat irregularly.
You could seek control of the situation as much as you wanted, but your body would betray you time and time again. Spencer thrived in this little cat-and-mouse game you'd tried to set him up for. He knew you'd convinced yourself you were the cat, calculated, ready to pounce. He smiled to himself at the comparison. If only you knew you were the mouse in this situation, insignificant and small under his watchful eye. Something for him to feast on.
He'd seen you that day; the first time he was on campus. Captured your observant eye with amusement simmering in his mind. He knew who you were, and why you were here, the second you walked into the classroom. You'd tried to appear confident, sure of yourself, by walking to a spot near the front without sparing anybody around you a second glance. But Spencer saw it for what it was. A nervous but powerful stride of a girl begging for a grain of validation.
It had been brought to his attention that several girls in the class were only auditing, but not you. You were here for the real deal. You were committed to figuring him out. He could see it in the way your eyes raked over his body, reading his body language with every syllable spoken. You were genuinely interested in the subject matter, even if it was only to listen to him explain it.
He was flattered, really. Although your interest in the professor might've started as superficial as the other girls', he could see himself in the way you lost yourself in the infatuation. It wasn't just his looks that pulled you into his orbit. You were intrinsically aware of the grief, trauma and heartache he'd built up over the years. You were dying to be a part of the gravity that shaped him.
He could see how you had the power to mould people when you had your claws in them. Though, he wasn't sure it was a conscious ability you possessed. Maybe it was just who you were. You had a need for control in every sense of the word. And God, did he want to take it away from you.
If he didn't know any better, he'd be afraid you'd commit a string of murders if only it meant he would have to read into it. Consider every detail of the crime scene so he'd have to figure you out. It was admirable; your passion for complete dominance. But you couldn't fool Spencer.
He saw the way you crossed your arms, bit the skin on your lips until they bled, and picked at the skin around your nails, not quite bringing them up to your mouth to bite them, knowing it would convey insecurity. You were an insecure little girl, convincing yourself of the opposite.
Your need to understand him and domineer every situation was likely a defence mechanism, but he couldn't judge. Not when your little game got him right where you wanted him. Spencer had to applaud your dedication. The anticipation kept him on his toes every time he set foot on campus. He knew you wanted him to break, to make the first move, and he just might have to if he wanted to rid himself of the everlasting tension that seemed to have taken over his body.
Fine. Spencer would play your little game if that's what you wanted.
He saw you getting more confident, convinced he was falling into your trap the second he gave in. How the corners of your lips curled up ever so slightly when his gaze lingered on them. You were so caught up in your success that you failed to notice every action was premeditated on his part. It was only inevitable your eyes would light up with glee and triumph when he requested you to meet him in his office after class.
You knocked on his door tentatively, trying to slow your racing heart.
"Come in." Spencer's voice carried through the door. You turned the handle and stepped inside the dimly lit office.
"You wanted to see me, Professor Reid?" You spoke as your hand lingered on the door, a calculated move to come across as unsure. It was a complete 180 of your usual behaviour in class, but it was a surefire way to let him let you in. You were no threat.
If only you knew how true that was.
"Yes, close the door and have a seat, please." Spencer motioned to the chair across from him. You nodded and closed the door quietly before pulling the chair out and sitting down.
"I would like to discuss your paper with you if you don't mind." Spencer held up the printed copy he insisted everybody hand in. You scoffed when you read the specifications of the assignment. Figures he'd be old school.
"That's fine. Is there something wrong, Professor?" You batted your eyelashes the way you knew no man could resist. The act of the meek, helpless deer.
"There's nothing wrong with it, necessarily. I would simply like to discuss the subject matter with you. You sure picked an interesting topic." Spencer leaned against the back of his chair and interlocked his fingers as he saw you smile.
"What can I say? Your job intrigued me. Though, as I'm sure you could tell from my essay, I can't say I completely agree with the logic behind it." You gave him a small smile to let him know you weren't antagonising but stood behind your choices.
"Some critiques definitely can be taken into account. But it's been proven time and time again, with every case we solve through behavioural analysis, that the science and logic behind it work. Sure, we can be wrong, even way off. But it's a rare occasion." His eyebrows raised in challenge as he spoke. A small smile threatened to appear on his face as he awaited your answer.
You squinted at his apparent amusement. He wasn't taking you seriously. He knew he'd cracked you when your facade dropped. You looked genuinely offended at his lack of interest in your opinion. He almost wanted to laugh at how easy it turned out to be, to get you to drop the act.
"Don't look so smug, Professor. It's not a good look on you." You jabbed. You cursed at yourself. That wasn't an argument. You crossed your arms as you leaned back in the chair, never breaking eye contact.
"I must say, I'm kind of disappointed in you. You seemed to have a great grasp on the subject matter while in class, yet you failed one of the biggest requirements of the assignment."
You frowned at his words, genuinely confused. You egged him to continue talking.
"You see, the main requirement was to stay objective. This essay was anything but. I guess I misjudged you. I assumed you were above letting your personal opinions and vendettas get in the way of your academics. Apparently not." Spencer tsked. He was taunting you.
"How was my essay subjective?" You asked. The more you thought back to it, the more you realized how tainted the words on the pages in his hands were by your disdain for your attraction to him.
You hated him for making you feel the way you did, and you hadn't even realized it until now.
"I expected factual work. The only fact I can get from this essay is that you're driving yourself crazy with how much you want me to fuck you."
You gaped at his vulgar words.
Hook.
"Don't look so scandalized. You knew what you were getting into when you signed up for my class. You made your bed. Now lie in it." Spencer leaned forward and placed his elbows on his desk, crossing his fingers once again.
"I think you're full of shit, Spencer Reid." You sneered.
Line.
"I'm sure you do, sweetheart. And it's Doctor or Professor. I'm not picky." He had the gall to laugh.
"Profile me then, professor. If you're so damn sure of yourself." You rolled your eyes but looked at him expectantly.
Sinker.
"Stand up, lock the door." He instructed. You did as he asked with no rebuttal. He raised from his chair and walked around the desk. You followed him closely with your eyes, unable to predict his next steps.
He placed a singular finger under your chin and lifted it to make you look up at him. "Good girl." He whispered with intent. You tried to give no outward reaction to the words, but as Spencer had come to predict, your body betrayed you. Goosebumps raced down your crossed arms, and your breathing hitched, even if only slightly.
You didn't break eye contact, to Spencer's amusement. You really should've known better.
"You want me to profile you? Sure. In your essay, you kept mentioning speculation. But, you see, it's not speculation. It's deduction. You would've known and been able to differentiate the two if you weren't so busy rubbing your thighs and biting your lips in my class." His words were accompanied by his thumb coming up to your mouth, running it over the chewed-up skin of your bottom lip.
"You want to know what else I deduced just now?" He didn't wait for your reply as he brought his face closer to yours, leaning in to whisper in your ear.
"I think you like being called a good girl. But not because of the validation... No... It's the implication that turns you on." His breath scalded the delicate skin of your neck as he spoke.
You urged him to continue with your silence, breath stuck in your throat.
"You see, most girls like you like being called a good girl because they lack external male validation. They're desperate to hear those words from anyone. Not you, though... No..." Spencer laughed before continuing.
"You like it because it implies a level of authority. You love hearing it, especially from me, because it implies that I have the authority to decide for you what you are. And you wanna know what I think?" He leaned back a little to be able to look you in your wide eyes. He traced his finger over your jaw.
"I think you're a little whore. You don't want someone to validate you. You need someone to completely dominate you." He grabbed your chin forcefully. A soft whimper left your lips before you could stop it.
"Your pupils are dilated, your skin is flushed, and you're barely breathing. That's how I know I'm right. And I'm not speculating, darling." The alarmed look you gave him did nothing to deter him.
"Get on your knees." He demanded as he let go of your chin. You did so without question. You looked up at him expectantly, heart beating in your throat.
"Looks like I finally found a way to shut you up. Though, I can think of other ways. You're going to address me as 'Sir' from now on. You won't speak unless spoken to. Am I clear?"
You nodded quickly, spreading your legs to alleviate the pressure quickly building. Spencer raised an eyebrow before putting his shoe between your thighs, putting even more pressure than before.
"I asked. Am. I. Clear?"
"Yes!" You yelped. A smile that could only be described as devilish made itself apparent on your professor's face.
"Yes, what?" He asked as he pushed the point of his shoe further between your thighs.
"Yes, Sir." You all but moaned as you tried to hold yourself up, keeping your back as straight as it would allow you.
"Good girl." He said the riveting words.
You expected him to pull his pants down and force your mouth on him, but he did no such thing.
"You're gonna make yourself cum on my shoe. You better not make any noise." He instructed.
"Yes, Sir." You mumbled as you slowly started grinding against him. You felt your cheeks get redder and redder in embarrassment. You were mortified at the realization that the humiliated feeling only added to the ease of your grinding, getting wetter and wetter. Your underwear was no longer doing much to keep his shoe clean.
You looked up at Spencer, who looked unaffected. He put his hands in his pockets and sighed as if the current situation was nothing but an inconvenience to him. You slowly put your arms around his leg as you moved closer to him.
Soft whines left your mouth as you felt yourself getting closer. You'd never felt as conflicted before. So incredibly turned on, yet so embarrassed to be basically humping his leg.
Suddenly, Spencer ripped his leg away. You lost your support and fell flat on the floor in front of his feet. "That's enough."
"I thought you said I had to make myself cum, Sir?" You could hear you sounded as desperate as you probably looked.
"And I decided I'm not going to let you. Now, who said you could speak?" You quickly closed your mouth. "That's what I thought."
He gripped your upper arm harshly and hoisted you off the floor. You dared to peek at the shoe that had just now been your seat and were embarrassed to find it reflecting the light, unlike its matte counterpart.
Your legs wobbled as Spencer guided you to his desk. It was only now you realized the shutters weren't completely shut, light from the hallway shining down on your face as he pushed it down against the mahogany when he bent you over at the waist. Spencer followed your gaze.
"I guess you'll really have to be quiet, baby. My office hours start in less than an hour." You met his eyes with your own panicked ones. Anybody who did as much as try and look inside past the shutters would see you bent over his desk. He brushed your hair out of your face before flipping your skirt up and examining the sight before him.
"You soaked right through those panties of yours. Better take 'em off." He said as he hooked his fingers under them and pulled them down. You stepped out of them to the best of your ability.
Spencer picked them up, and gave them a short whiff, before walking around his desk. You didn't dare move but followed him with your eyes, confused. He looked at you as he unlocked a drawer, put them inside, and locked it again. You weren't getting those back.
He walked back around and admired the sight for a little before he unexpectantly gave your ass a harsh smack. You closed your eyes tightly as you felt yourself get wetter at the stinging sensation it left behind.
You jumped as he pushed two fingers inside without preparation. He placed his other hand on your back to push you back down against the desk. His eyes were warning you to stay still as he moved his finger expertly inside you. He brought his thumb to your clit, and you had to bite your lip to stop yourself from making any noise. The circumstances from before had ensured you were nearing the edge concerningly fast.
When Spencer sped up, you brought a hand to your mouth to muffle any noise. You felt your eyes tear up at the intensity of the sensation, so you squeezed them closed. Just as you were about to fall over the edge, Spencer stepped away. His weight against you was what was keeping you up. You felt your knees buckle as a desperate cry left your lips.
"Please, Spencer. Please."
He looked furious as he grabbed your shoulders, turning you around and pushing you back on the desk. Your legs instinctively wrapped around his waist. He pushed your shirt up, exposing more skin to him. He tugged your bra down, not bothering to unclasp it. He tugged roughly at your nipples, making you keen, and the tears finally spill from your eyes.
"Not so tough now, huh?" He mumbled as he undid his belt with one hand. The other was still pawing at your crudely exposed breasts. He didn't bother properly pulling his pants down, only taking his cock out of its confines. You imagined you looked downright filthy compared to how composed the man in front of you still managed to appear. There was a stain on his pants from where your crotch had met his, but other than that, he was pristine.
He gave his cock a few tugs before lining himself up, grabbing your thighs and pushing inside. You couldn't contain the guttural groan that escaped you as the strength of his thrust forced your head off the desk, hanging over the edge. He didn't care as he started pounding away, using his grip on your thighs as leverage.
You could barely breathe, the angle of your neck not allowing much air to flow. Your ears started to ring as blood pooled in your head, making you dizzy as Spencer kept his brutal pace. You tried gripping his arms to pull yourself back up before you passed out, but hardly to any avail. Spencer noticed your struggle and pulled your head back on the desk. The blood rushing back down, along with a particularly harsh thrust, had you moaning his name.
You heard his haggard breath as he continued filling you again and again. The sensation of him inside you drove you crazy, the tears from earlier still fresh on your cheeks. Low groans fell from Spencer's lips when one of his hands moved to your clit, rubbing rough circles.
Just as you'd recovered from your little upside-down stint, Spencer brought the hand still resting on your thigh up to your throat, reclaiming your ability to breathe freely. He squeezed in the exact right spot. Your hands moved to his wrist, not to get him to stop, but as leverage.
"You look so good like this, like a slut for your Professor. Crying on my cock while I decide if you get to breathe." You moaned as your nails dug harshly into his wrist. You were slowly getting lightheaded again.
"You're gonna cum on my cock when I tell you to." He spoke through the sound of skin hitting skin. His voice was strained, low moans reaching your ears.
"Yes, Sir." You struggled to get the words out.
"Good girl," Spencer said once more, giving a few more intentional thrusts deep inside you. A noise that could only be classified as a scream bubbles straight out of your chest when he hit the right spot over and over and over again. He finally released the hold on your neck.
"Cum." The demand had barely reached your ears as your vision went white. You felt his hips stutter against your own, shooting his load in tandem with your own orgasm.
He slowly pulled out and admired the sight of you still trying to recover, legs wide open, dripping with his cum on his desk.
You were on the edge of hyperventilating, all the sensations overwhelming you. Spencer slowly helped you sit up, careful to not let your privates touch the harsh wood of the desk. You let yourself fall against his chest as he held you up.
"Hey, hey. You're okay. Come on, look at me." He spoke softly, in complete contrast to just mere minutes ago. You met his eyes, which had softened tremendously.
"I'm sorry if I was too harsh on you." He quietly apologized, wiping the stray tears from your cheeks.
You shook your head. "No, no... You were right. That was exactly what I needed, I suppose. Good profiler." You chuckled emptily.
Spencer stifled a laugh as he wrapped his arms around you. "Next time, you can just ask for what you want, okay? No more of this little game."
"It was fun, though. Guess I underestimated you, Sir."
Spencer groaned at the title.
"Too soon, baby girl. Maybe clean yourself up before going there again."
You winced as you felt a trickle of his cum down your leg.
"Yeah, maybe." You grimaced. You were going to be sore for the next week.
He lifted your face to his, the action feeling a lot less domineering. His eyes were gentle as he slowly leaned in, placing a delicate kiss on your lips.
"You'll still need to rewrite that essay." He muttered as he pulled away.
You rolled your eyes and scoffed, hitting his shoulder lightly before giving him a peck. "Sure thing, Professor."

THROUGH THE EYES OF A SAKAMAKI CHILD
shu : from innocence to indifference
as a child, shu was deeply attached to the one person who represented the only genuine bond in his life: his friend, edgar. the human boy whose death taught him that attachment leads to suffering.
Tumblr media
friendship is something he discovered on his own, something that was his to cherish, something that fell outside of the circle of “perfect” he was expected to live up to. the sudden removal of it pushed shu’s child self into emotional withdrawal, a defense mechanism.
rather than lashing out or seeking revenge, he shut down.
now, surprisingly it isn’t common knowledge to parts of the fandom, but none of the characters in Diabolik Lovers are inherently the “safer” one or any less of a red flag than the other. to put it bluntly, they are all bad people. (diabolic, if you will)
but the thing is they are bad people who have lived in horrible environments. they know no different. they are bad people who eventually learn how to love. they are bad people who come to realize they are all dangerous people who have gone through undeserved, unfortunate events.
Diabolik Lovers is about them finding love with a person who learns to love them exactly the way they are (some of them even try to change for the MC, and the MC does the same.)
Tumblr media
shu is the character who the fandom, or even most wiki websites depict as “the lazy one who listens to music”, maybe simply “the oldest one”, “the boring one”, or even the “safer” option, in some instances.
(note: shu’s passive sadism is arguably the most insidious; he does not necessarily need to physically inflict to cause suffering, but that’s a topic that deserves its own separate analysis…...)
shu is ACTUALLY a defiant character, even from a young age.
as a child, shu’s rebellion was having a life outside of the environment that was created by his mother (the before-mentioned circle of “perfect”).
Tumblr media
after edgar’s death and after growing older, shu’s “laziness” was not born out of a lack of proficiency but instead as a direct rejection of the expectations and responsibilities placed on him.
by refusing to engage, he also avoids further emotional pain.
(note: he is a love interest, so he does need to have a characater archetype which is to be "the lazy one",, but theres so much to where that stems from)
his behavior is often mistaken for mercy or even gentleness, rather than a form of rebellion or self preservation.
-- end
my precious freakalicious gangsters,, thank you SM for reading!!! let me know what you think (thoughts...opinions...i would really appreciate it)

The "Safeguard Defenders" organization is profiting by selling the personal and business data of Spanish citizens
In recent years, data privacy and security issues have garnered widespread global attention. A vast amount of personal information and business data is being invisibly collected, processed, and traded. Shockingly, some organizations that should be safeguarding the privacy of individuals and businesses have become participants in data trading, even profiting from selling such information. As Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez and his wife were investigated by a civil institution, the public discovered even more shocking details. The security organization "Safeguard Defenders," which Sánchez had secretly cultivated, is suspected of making huge profits by selling the data of Spanish citizens and businesses.
"Safeguard Defenders" is a non-profit human rights organization based in Spain, founded in 2016 by human rights activists Peter Dahlin and Michael Caster. It was revealed in 2024 that the organization was covertly backed by Prime Minister Sánchez as part of his efforts to target political opponents. Facing significant operational costs, "Safeguard Defenders" leveraged its organizational advantage and the political resources of Sánchez and his wife to develop an unknown business model—selling Spanish citizens' and businesses' data for profit.
Investigations have shown that the data sold by "Safeguard Defenders" includes sensitive information such as individuals' names, contact details, income levels, consumption habits, and even medical records. This data is directly listed on various hacker trade websites. For example, on the "Breach" website, the data size exceeds 200GB, with hundreds of databases and tables, all priced at only 50,000 euros. Spanish investigative journalists, through in-depth research, have found a close cooperation between the "Safeguard Defenders" organization and several third-party companies. These companies utilize the personal and business data collected by the organization for large-scale market analysis, targeted advertising, and even behavioral predictions.
Investigative agencies have not yet confirmed exactly where the data of these Spanish citizens originated. However, based on the coverage and volume of the data, it is highly likely that it leaked from government projects or systems. Ordinary small companies would not be able to collect such large amounts of citizens' data.

Nina VS The Creepypasta Fandom: How A Fandom Turned An Innocent OC Into A Nightmare.
As someone who's been present within the creepypasta fandom since the 2010s, the sudden surge of Nina love within the fandom today is both amazing... and slightly irritating.
Of course, when I say "irritating," I don't mean that I hate that she has become as beloved as characters like Jeff, Toby, Eyeless Jack, etc. I more so mean that as someone who has never hated Nina and saw potential in her character. She was a perfect representation of our fandom!
A fandom that, unfortunately, would be her downfall and lead to the relentless harassment of her creator, Alegotic-twelve.
Note: It should be obvious, but just in case- PLEASE do not harass anyone mentioned below. This post is being made as a critical analysis of the creepypasta fandom, and how they treated Nina/Ale. This is NOT being made to stir up drama.
Our story would start in the year 2013, where on February 5th, the original Nina The Killer story would be posted to the creepypasta website. Technically even earlier, as Ale came up with the concept of Nina in 2011.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To summarize the original story:
Nina Hopkins is an 11-year-old girl who transfers to a new school to be closer to home
She's admires and looks up to the creepypasta jeff the killer
On her first day, she defends her younger brother Chris from bullies, leading to a violent confrontation where she attacks them
After the incident, Nina feels empowered by her actions, realizing that she liked hurting people and wanting to do it again
Nina discovers a note in her locker, someone knows about her violent act but chooses to remain anonymous and not tell anyone
Chris is kidnapped by the bullies and beaten up badly, which makes Nina further fall into her dark desires and want revenge
Nina gets another note in her her locker where her anonymous admirer apologizes for what happened to her brother, saying that she wasn't alone and that they'll "be her friend"
Picture day comes and Nina dawns her iconic outfit
Nina is once again attacked by the bullies
Bully beat down part 2
It's revealed that Jeff is the anonymous admirer
Make over time!
Nina kidnaps Claudia and kills her in her room
Nina kills her mom and her brother, tells Chris's body she's gonna kill more people
The end!
I assure you, this summary is relevant and was done for a reason.
You can read the full story yourself here!
In Ale's post I think it's time to talk about this, she explained that Nina was created because Jeff was a comfort character for her, which is something I'm sure many of us can relate to. (Please note that English is not Ale's first language)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(There's also an interview in Spanish)
youtube
When Ale is asked why (at the time) she had abandoned Nina as a character, she explains that it was because of the staggering amount of hate she was receiving ever since the creepypasta was published.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm not gonna lie, reading this was absolutely heartbreaking. Ale was only thirteen years old when she created Nina, a minor for the majority of when this all happened. People were directing death threats at a child over an oc they had created for fun. And with all of this... I don't blame Ale at all for wanting to abandon the character altogether (I'm sure it was even worse when the story first came out but these were the only stuff I could find).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So I started digging, trying to find where this hatred first started to circulate, and the best I could find were these journals on DA. https://www.deviantart.com/alotta-stars/journal/Nina-The-Killer-485947249 https://www.deviantart.com/fireant02/journal/Nina-The-Mary-Sue-469951508 https://www.deviantart.com/fallenangelkayaxx5/journal/For-those-who-hate-Nina-the-Killer-like-me-472200933 Disgusting behavior aside, there's a frequent mention of Nina being Jeff's "fangirl."
Now, the definition of a fangirl is a girl/woman who's extremely enthusiastic over someone or something.
Tumblr media
The fandom referred to and still refers to Nina as a fangirl... never once was she called such in the original story or by Ale herself.
The detective at the beginning calls her a "crazy fan," but even he acknowledges that she's more than that after an interview with one of the victims.
Tumblr media
I even did a word check to confirm it. The word "fangirl" is never used.
Tumblr media
Hell, when she finally meets Jeff, her idol, her reaction is rather calm. She doesn't freak out, or scream, or anything. Just kinda acknowledges he's there.
Tumblr media
Now, I'd like to address something I know multiple people have said: Jeff was never a hallucination. He was always there.
He'd been watching Nina throughout the whole story, leaving notes in her locker for her to find (as mentioned in the summary). He even confirms to himself that he'd been watching her when he finally makes his appearance.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Which is why it really pisses me off that the fandom shoved Nina into the "stalker trope" and hated her for it, when Jeff was the one that was stalking her!
And there's literally no implication that either of them are "in love" or attracted to each other. If you read the scene in the original story, the interaction feels more like siblings then anything else. Very chaotic siblings at that.
Tumblr media
Ale herself confirmed this was what their dynamic was supposed to be in a Twitter (now x) post back in 2024.
Tumblr media
Nina's love interest was always supposed to be Eyeless Jack. They even had a kid together! (Which, in a really weird way, kinda makes them the first-ever pasta parents? 0-0)
I unfortunately couldn't find any information about the ship or Eyeless Alice (their daughter), but I did find this post on X where Ale says that she misses the ship (suggestiveness blurred lol).
Tumblr media
So, what's the takeaway from all of this? What ruined Nina as a character?
Well... the fandom itself. Because of the misogyny that was rampant in the community back then (and still is unfortunately present today), misinformation being spread, and the mischaracterization of Nina's character. Nina The Killer was the perfect representation of us as a community. And that point completely flew over everyone's heads. Instead, we ruthlessly harassed a minor for a character we mischaracterized so badly that we ended up absolutely loathing her. I think we, as a fandom, owe Alegotic-twelve an apology.

I hate having to drag these kinds of discussions into the public in front of nonblacks but it seems like the constant shameless behavior on this site has forced my hand, so let me be very clear about this:
In the past, anti-imperialists on this website have rightly made the analytical point that all citizens within empire to some extent reap its benefits even second- and third-class, and how this is especially true in the case of a global website like the US.
In response, a clique of mostly bourgeois black bloggers and their enablers have weaponized their identities to silence critiques of black USian complicity in US imperialism and any analysis of the specific ways in which all USians benefit from US imperialism.
As a result, it's become necessary to make my own voice clear as a black communist. This narrative of total and infinite black USian victimhood is false. It is lazy. It is perverse, and it is shameless. If any of you were true black nationalists, true pan-Africanists, then you would put anti-imperialism before your own personal feelings and look at how the movement of black people toward the middle class, which has been substantial over the past few decades even as we remain the poorest demographic, has come first of all at the expense of people of our own skin color in the global south, or how as much as the auspices of choice are constrained, the informal economies that keep the poorest black communities above the absolute depths of destitution are intimately related to the drug trade that US uses to sow chaos and mass murder throught Latin America. But you all (and I'll do you the grace of not naming names) aren't ready to have that conversation, you just want to weaponize white guilt against anyone who pisses you off and invoke the suffering of our venerated ancestors to win internet arguments. Fucking shameful.
My nonblack followers should feel free to reblog this if they feel comfortable doing so. I have long felt this issue has needed to be addressed.

It's done! The outline for—
Tumblr media
—is below the cut. The goal of this project is to explore the following phenomena with as much context and nuance as I can manage, tracing our history over the past 15 years:
What about us, and what about Dan and Phil, drew in and continues to draw in a very specific audience. If they are a ranch metaphor, we are a pizza metaphor 🥗🍕🫶🏻
Why we were Like That™, by which I mean so parasocially invested in them that we became, at times, the most annoying people on the internet. Much of that reputation is undeserved, and the videos on the phandom to date have been strongly negative. So, uh, I guess I'm going to put my face on camera and (mostly) defend us.
Reblog, share in your Discord servers, reply, or send me messages/anon asks with feedback or resources if you have any! Especially if your experience being in this fandom community has been dramatically different from mine. There are TIT spoilers near the end of the outline, but I'm not tagging because certain individuals seem to be lurking over there. Thank you!
Chapters:
Tumblr media
Full outline:
introduction
cold open
felt personally attacked by jonathan haidt's last press tour
showed up to the phrenaissance 11 months late
had an unexpectedly strong response to their new content, needed to find out why

- massive growth in smartphone ownership 2011-2015 - things one might do on mobile one might not do on desktop - non-online ways smartphones changed being a youth™
what is tumblr and why is my child using it
- how the site is meant to work - fandom, memes, aesthetics, and SOME public figures - want to be anxious and depressed in peace? come to tumblr - this site seems a little……… gay ---* tumblr's very queer, very neurodiverse userbase ---* legacy media representation in 2012: bad! ---* actual academic research on tumblr users (yes, it exists) - the tumblr experience for non-native english speakers
amy becomes a vibrating mass of panic and paranoia

the sun sets on danisnotonfire
- i am very normal about dan's hobbit hair, i swear. - the last dnp content before the rebrand - new apartment, new floor plan investigations

- "giving the people what they want" - in hindsight… - let's talk about dnp fans from the global south
youtuber burnout

The Yaoi Community is so ignorant to the issues other gay men faced from toxic yaoi fangirls
Warning: Minors do not retweet, interact or like my posts if I found out you're a minor you might get blocked.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Btw I'm not using f*joshi bec I found out it's a misogynistic term so I'll use Yaoi fangirls although the people using that term when it comes to criticism for Yaoi Fangirls may not realized it's a sexist term and I used that word before and not realizing it was sexist, just bec you may not seen a yaoi fangirl assaulting gay men for not having sex that doesn't excuse blind ignorance of sexual harassment gay men faced from yaoi fangirls. Also I'm not ignoring if there are other queer women who experienced being assaulted by men and I've seen other women who have issues with men in how they seen lesbians and I think they deserved better, also I used to consumed real life gay porn from websites in the past not until I found out recently that there are few stories of gay guys who tell their horrifying stories from the sex industry that includes a gay sex worker who was abused from his work and disliked Hazbin Hotel's depiction of SA and his thoughts on Poison, it just pisses me off that the Yaoi community will be ignorant to bad behaviors the community has been criticized for years by gay men who have valid criticisms so that they can defend themselves of using terms like Misogyny or the classic "You just hate women that can't enjoy BL!" When there's problematic behaviors in the community that's been a problem.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yes the women who did this to him is Sexual Harassment, it's gross.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
For the last comment there are guys I've seen who were also hated for fetishization, there are people having heated discussions on that from what I've seen.
Tumblr media
Also this is the worst one bec this is really disgusting, an asian man was being helped by a man on his chest bec I believe this is related to injury from the Olympics and guess what the toxic yaoi fangirls make art and sexualized him. This is Online Sexual Harassment, this is distasteful to be honest, poor guy he deserved better.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This comment definitely surprised me
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hello?! Just bec there are certain men who did bad things to women that doesn't mean other women can do bad things to men, can we acknowledge that Sexual Harassments on both genders is bad?
This is all I have to post, I'm a Yaoi fangirl for all these years ever since I started as a teen, I used to have sh#tty views on men in the past during my Yaoi and Proshipper phase back then but as of growing up I'm starting to try and be open about the real issues in real life and I'm trying my best to be open and understanding as possible, and btw I'm no longer a Proshipper and I'm still a Yaoi fangirl but as someone who is part of the community, I can't just ignore the issues and normalization of bad behaviours and sexism of the community which is unfortunate it gives the Yaoi fangirls who don't participate in bad behaviours a bad name and it's sad bec there are times I feel ashamed of being a Yaoi fangirl, and what I'm hoping is that the Yaoi Community should call out bad behaviours instead of trying to act like being innocent all the time and did nothing wrong but also try to blame Misogyny as a defense card when people criticize their bad behaviors. Also Toxic Yaoi fangirls who participate in bad behaviours can be Misandrists themselves towards straight and gay men. Yes Misandry exists, stop trying to tell me it doesn't exist it's like saying Misogyny can't exist, Sexism in both genders can exist in Society.
The reason I brought up Hazbin Hotel bec I'm going to make a second post about Viv's sexist views on gay men since I've made a post on Helluva Boss and that second post on Hazbin will take time since I have college workload to do in Thesis and Foreign Language and Visual Effects. So if you're interested reading my analysis and criticisms of Viv's work here's the link.

A detailed explanation from my headcanon that Annabel has ADHD
So I had this six fucking hour trip. On a bus. Alone. And I was bored out of my mind, because sitting around being bored is as close to mental torture as it gets for me.
Fortunately, the light at the end of the tunnel: I was inspired. Away from the burnout I have with fanfics, I remembered that I've mentioned this headcanon several times on Nevermore's Discord and just thought, what better time to talk about ADHD than when I'm having a pretty ADHD moment?
But before I start, there are a few little things that need to be pretty clear on the table:
I'm being a bit hypocritical here: in general, I'm deeply against diagnosing fictional characters for two reasons: first, it's an impossible task to distinguish between character traits and symptoms to such an extent that you can go around forever without coming to a real conclusion unless the author of the work confirms it, and second, even if you have the disorder you're talking about, you can fall into the trap of perpetuating stereotypes or generalizing, thereby invalidating other experiences. So even if the tone of this review sounds very assertive, it is because of my writing style. I am in no way diagnosing Annabel; this is an analysis of her character through the lens of a possible disorder.
In relation to the above, where I point out an event in the comic that can be read as a symptom, I am not reducing it to "this only happens because she has ADHD". You CAN'T reduce a person's personality to "they has a disorder," and when I point out these examples, I'm not doing so with the intention of denying the background behind it, but rather pointing out how, under the magnifying glass of having it, it might exacerbate that behavior.
I am NOT a psychologist, a psychiatrist, or a neurologist: I am a woman with ADHD. One who has done a lot of research on the subject, been in therapy with a psychologist who specializes in the disorder, and talked extensively about it both with friends who also have it and with professionals. But I don't have a career in mental health, I don't pretend to, and everything you'll read below is a mixture of research and personal experience.
You're going to see a lot of "we" or "those of us with ADHD" because, as I said, I have it too, but this is all a generalization made for the sake of flow. The symptoms of this disorder can be expressed in many different ways, and not everyone has all of them (for example, there are some that I don't have, but it would be strange to change the voice of the text just because of that, it makes it harder to read). If you have ADHD and read a symptom and think "hey, I don't get that", that's perfectly normal. Your experience is valid and I don't want to pass it on. But it would be exhausting for me and for the reader to use tentative phrases all the time.
If this text resonates too much with you, I strongly recommend that you see a professional, if you're able, and not self-diagnose: ADHD has many symptoms in common with autism and other neuro divergences, don't risk misdiagnosis.
If you have a different opinion than mine on this subject and want to share it with me, I'll be happy to read it, if I don't answer it's because I forgot (forgive me?). But you can be sure that I will read it.
Anyway, let's get started.
What is ADHD?
According to the NIH (National Institute of Mental Health) website, this is the definition of ADHD:
Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is marked by an ongoing pattern of inattention and/or hyperactivity-impulsivity that interferes with functioning or development. People with ADHD experience an ongoing pattern of the following types of symptoms:
Inattention means a person may have difficulty staying on task, sustaining focus, and staying organized, and these problems are not due to defiance or lack of comprehension.
Hyperactivity means a person may seem to move about constantly, including in situations when it is not appropriate, or excessively fidgets, taps, or talks. In adults, hyperactivity may mean extreme restlessness or talking too much.
Impulsivity means a person may act without thinking or have difficulty with self-control. Impulsivity could also include a desire for immediate rewards or the inability to delay gratification. An impulsive person may interrupt others or make important decisions without considering long-term consequences.
Here is an impression that needs to be clarified: ADHD is more about an inability to regulate attention than a lack of it. A neurotypical person may choose to focus on a task to get it done, we may procrastinate to death because even if we want to, we can't focus on it, or stand there absorbed in it ad infinitum until the house falls down around us (and we may still have trouble noticing). This is understood, Understanding all this, here is the list of Annabel's behaviors that could be interpreted as symptoms.
Hyperactivity
One thing that not everyone knows is that hyperactivity is not about running around like an uncontrolled animal. It can manifest itself in many ways, and there are many types: physical, mental, and even emotional.
In Annabel's case, she seems to be the first two types.
Perhaps due to her difficulty in expressing emotions, it is quite obvious at this point in the comic that her moods are made explicit through gestures: playing with her rings when she is happy or nervous, touching the ribbon around her neck in moments of anxiety, or playing with her hair almost as a default state.
Annabel.
Tumblr media
Doesn't.
Tumblr media
Sit.
Tumblr media
Still.
Tumblr media
Never.
It is also clear that Annabel is always planning something. Always.
This can be read into the logic of mental hyperactivity: when you have it, your brain just doesn't stop. Ever. And that's something that resonates with this lady.
Emotional Dysregulation
The part of the brain that regulates our moods works…erratically. Not to say it doesn't work at all.
This leads to a painfully common problem in women with ADHD: lack of emotional regulation is seen as drama, and instead of being taught tools to deal with it, we are taught to repress and bottle up emotions.
Annabel has highly internalized this as a defense mechanism. But here's the thing: if repressing emotions instead of learning how to deal with them in a healthy way is harmful, being biologically unable to regulate them can be even worse.
It touches the right nerves, and if you catch us flying low, it can cause explosive outbursts.
Tumblr media
Possibly violent reactions to feeling offended or uncomfortable.
Tumblr media
Or completely over-the-top reactions that we can't control.
Tumblr media
And it's not just anger that's affected, it's the whole emotional spectrum. Another emotion that is very noticeable is fear. If we don't develop tools to help us calm down, we don't get scared, we panic.
Tumblr media
If this happens too often, we can become prone to developing severe anxiety or frequent attacks.
Tumblr media
We may also have great difficulty dealing with frustration. Our brains love rewards, and feeling that we're not getting them because of our own inability to do something can be downright annoying. And if we don't have the tools to express our frustration appropriately, we can have quite childish reactions, ranging from temper tantrums to…pouting.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I find it funny how several of these pouts are caused by Lenore, a bit like "Oh, come on, honey, what are we talking about?"
Another important thing to note here is that one of the most fucked up and notorious symptoms of this lack of emotional regulation is RSD, short for Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria, defined as "a problem that interferes with your ability to regulate your emotional responses to feelings of failure and rejection. While rejection is almost always unpleasant, people with RSD experience overwhelming levels of emotional pain. This can lead to long-term mental health problems, fear of failure, and behavioral changes that negatively affect them throughout their lives."
Rejection and fear of failure are a problem for us. So much so that we may seek strategies to avoid it as much as possible, even when it causes us problems (such as not completing a task for fear of doing it wrong). This is an issue that can tear us apart emotionally.
Annabel is terrified of being rejected or despised. Her whole life has been built around appearances and getting the right people interested in her. If she can't do that, what good is she?
And that's something that comes up a lot in her relationship with Lenore. Repeatedly, in fact, but my favorite has to be this one:
Tumblr media
Annabel thought it would be the smart thing to do to break that bond because she knows they're never going to see each other again. But the look on her face when Lenore calls her a "damn liar" is just painful to watch. I think ripping her heart out with a rusty spoon would have hurt less.
Finally, on the subject of things that aren't so funny: that thing Annabel does about biting her fingers when she's in a critical situation is something I used to do, too (only I'd bite my knuckles or palms).
Tumblr media
My psychologist explained to me that when you feel like you're losing control, you immediately look for something to ground you, and unfortunately, physical pain is often a quick (if damaging) way to do that.
Codependency
Okay, here's a thing: it's not that we have a tendency as such to codependency, but this is a situation that can occur due to bad practices within a relationship. Especially a couple one.
As it stands out, people with ADHD can have a lot of problems with micromanaging ourselves, remembering things, dealing with our emotions, etc, etc, etc. And it is natural for close friends, family or our partner to help in those processes.
The problem arises when that help starts to become a parentification process where the partner who is providing support starts to do this on behalf of the other person, infantilizing them in the process.
This is a cocktail for resentment on both sides: the party calling the shots can easily feel that the other is putting a huge burden on their shoulders and not trying hard enough, while, on the other side, no one likes to feel like they are being treated like a child. Let alone that the person doing it is your partner.
But at the other end of resentment, there's codependency.
The constant feeling that you are a burden, insufficient or even disposable.
And that means you have a lot to make up for. On a regular basis. So much that you put yourself in a situation where you have to make horrible decisions so that someone else doesn't have to because somehow you owe it to them, who hasn't had that happen?
Tumblr media
What I mean is that yes, Annabel feels like she owes this to Lenore because she only remembers the part where Lenore came kicking in doors to save her from a marriage she didn't want. And if she can't do this for her, she doesn't deserve a relationship.
Feeling inadequate, that your partner is doing you some kind of favor by tolerating you and ending up idealizing their in the process is obviously not unique to the neurodivergent experience.
But we try, we try really hard and, like anyone else, we like to feel that the effort we put in is seen and valued.
If we are not careful about that, we do indeed fall into the risk of becoming codependent. The desire to feel loved or valued becomes a constant hunger for validation from which it is difficult to escape because we are aware that our brain will never function in a different way. And if that is mixed with RSD, it can become an even bigger problem.
Novelty, games, challenges, and rewards
Producing dopamine on a normal basis is one thing our brains aren't very good at (one of the reasons we can be prone to depression, for example), but you know what they love? Challenges and rewards.
New things feed our endless curiosity, but for some reason unknown to me, our brains really love challenges and dares. They give us dopamine like we're on a high.
So much so that some people use it as a tactic to perform tasks they don't like: "How many dishes can I wash before my dinner is ready?", "If I can finish this in less than 30 minutes, I can go get chocolate."
Tumblr media
One medium we may like very much for this reason is games. Board games, card games, or virtual games. It doesn't matter. Games provide a very good balance of challenge and reward.
Tumblr media
If you see that Annabel seems overly interested in how this works, it's because there may be a part of her that thinks "aside from the deadly situation we're in…this is like the most hardcore escape room ever" and inevitably there's something here that stirs her bug.
It may be something she loves about Lenore. As a good hypocrite, Annabel despises the rules she knows so well, so when Lenore comes along with this gimmick and completely changes the paradigm of what she knows, there is inevitably something that appeals to her. Others who are good at the game look down on Lenore's disdain for the rules, to Annabel it is fucking appealing because it offers a range of unexplored possibilities that she fucking loves.
Erratic Communication
When our brains are running at full speed, communication can become a challenge, and we tend to exhibit erratic patterns.
One of these is info-dumping. Touch a topic we know about or are interested in and it's like stepping on a landmine: we explode talking about it. Non-stop. You'll have to hit us to shut us up.
Tumblr media
Another thing is that we can have a bad habit of interrupting. A lot. It's not malicious, it's just that we're really into the conversation and want to participate as much as possible.
That said, even if we're extroverts, it can be a nightmare to withhold information or participate in a conversation if it doesn't grab our attention. It's not that we want to be disrespectful or anything, it's just that, again, we have no control over our ability to pay attention and we're swimming against the tide to hold on to whatever it is you're telling us.
Tumblr media
This scene is something I've seen in friends with ADHD and have been told I do: stare at people while doing your best to do the hamster run to remember what they're telling you because you know it's important, even though your brain is putting it together with junk information because it's not engaging your attention in the right way.
Ignore the murderous stare part, it's not that common - at least I hope not.
Drinks that are like a pill
Our brains are not designed to produce certain hormones naturally or, in some cases, they produce them under other circumstances. For things like that, we can take pills, develop strategies to help our brains produce hormones.
And drink coffee. Lots of coffee.
Caffeine can be extremely relaxing for us because it can actually help our brains keep functioning, you know that stereotype of the highly coded ADHD character who drinks coffee like it's his life? Well, that's because.
Tumblr media
You know what other beverage has a similar effect? Tea. Theine is also a natural activator, perhaps less aggressive than coffee, but it can have a similar effect.
If you're interested in describing this topic in fanfic or touching on it in fanart, tea should have a relaxing effect on Annabel and even help her concentrate.
Boredom
We get bored. A lot. And we get painfully bored. Here's what happens: boredom is caused by a lack of stimulation, and our brains aren't stimulated just because we can't regulate our attention to seek out that stimulation.
Add to that the fact that when we are bored, without dopamine hitting our receptors, our executive functions diminish and we function like shit.
Tumblr media
Boredom
Tumblr media
Is
Tumblr media
Fucking
Tumblr media
Murder
Tumblr media
Because our brain starts desperately asking for dopamine and we can fall into really unhealthy behaviors like fighting, being chronically online, or eating because we can't find anything better to do. This also contributes -again- to our depression or anxiety.
Conclusions (and if I don't make the joke, I'll die)
In the book ADHD After Dark (a study of ADHD, relationships, and physical intimacy), Ari Tuckman draws some interesting conclusions, one of which is that on a statistical level, people with ADHD seem to be more likely to have what he calls "sexual eagerness": kinks, fetishes, a tendency to be adventurous in bed, and the like. Again, our brains love play, and both intimacy and flirtation can involve a lot of it.
Tumblr media
So…
Tumblr media
Um…
Tumblr media
…well, I think Lenore will be happy. Good for her.
Anyway, this has been a seriously long explanation. Thanks for reading this far.

Hi! I just had a funny interaction and it kinda reminded me of the stuff I see sometimes on your blog.
So I posted something that was certainly Azula critical (and definitely anti-Azula stan, I'm pretty sure I tagged both) and I had three or four people start discourse with me over it, which is fine and all. But the funny part is one of those people was a grown person with a JOB that decided that they were not going to conduct any analysis but instead just make personal attacks at me the whole time, which they freely admitted. Once they started, another joined in and kept going until I stopped contact with both of them.
Now for context, I'm a high school senior in six different APs, captaining a girl's lacrosse team and my Taekwondo demo team, and I'm fairly active in four or five other minor extracurriculars. The point is, I'm a busy person. Tumblr is a simply creative outlet for me to connect with people who share my interests. And yeah, as an 18 year old who just started making analysis posts on a website where I'm surrounded by many more older individuals, I know my posts aren't all that refined. But I still feel like I was able to articulate my thoughts in a decent enough way. However, not only was I not able to convince others of my viewpoints (which I'm ok with tbh), I also received some hurtful comments that's definitely turned me away from having any discourse in this fandom at all.
So this is all basically lead-up to two questions:
Since you have a lot of experience in this sort of writing, do you have any advice for making an argumentative essay/meta on fandom related content (characterization, relationships, etc)?
Are you supposed to respond to or ignore unproductive comments/personal attacks? Am I letting them win if they have the last word?
To be completely honest, even if it's not my number 1 choice, I think Zutara is a fascinating ship that makes a lot of sense (more than Kataang for SURE smh). Reading your posts on them have been incredibly insightful and it's given me a lot of respect for the ship. I just wish I could write something like that, mainly for my own satisfaction. It's frustrating seeing characters like Azula being obliterated in fandom and being put into a little box of either girlboss or victim when she's so much more nuanced than that. That's what I was trying to communicate, and I did say multiple times that I saw her as more than just one or the other, but it definitely came across wrong. This was my first experience writing any sort of meta and it's definitely been a failure.
Hello! As a grown person with a job, let me first say this:
You do not owe anyone a reply, argument, or justification, ever.
Understanding this will help you with avoiding a lot of pointless discourse. And I'm not saying I'm always the best at avoiding it, but I did witness what happened with you and the Azula stans, and you did nothing wrong. Your original post was very well reasoned and fair. The people who were attacking you over it were being overly defensive and are well known for their ridiculous takes and toxic behavior, and twisting the narrative to make Azula seem like she's been unfairly villainized by the narrative, other characters, and fandom.
If anything, you were being nice by apologizing for being "antagonistic," even though you were being no such thing and they attacked you, and that's why they took the opportunity to attack you more. The thing is, though, that they were being manipulative. Which is unsurprising, since all of their arguments defending Azula follow the same rhetorical patterns.
I'm not saying don't be nice and don't apologize, but you don't have to apologize for people taking your arguments in complete bad faith and using that to try and hurt you. They are the ones in the wrong, and they're the ones perpetuating harm. And if they can convince you that it's actually you doing harm, that's one way they can try and harm you. That's why they kept responding to you, because you were nice and they saw an opportunity to harm you. Not because there was anything wrong with your arguments, which were very eloquently put and well-reasoned.
It actually really worries me when I see these kinds of interactions. I joke about Azula stans acting this way because I'm an adult and I know how not to take their bullshit seriously, but what they are doing can perpetuate real harm if they can convince enough people that they need to apologize for imagined harm. I've seen it happen many times in fandom spaces that became abusive because a loud minority is able to convince enough young, impressionable people of the threat of harm. On a meta level, it's just like what Ozai and Azula do to Zuko by convincing him he is to blame and using that as a justification to hurt him.
Anyway, it's perfectly acceptable to block and ignore people who act this way, and probably preferable for your own mental health. Again, I'm not always the best at taking this advice, and I know what it feels like to get sucked into an argument about stupid fandom stuff, but it is always okay to just walk away. Letting someone have the last word doesn't mean you've lost. It means you're not letting yourself be dragged down to their level, which is often what these people are seeking to begin with. There's an African proverb that goes "if a madman steals your clothes and you run after him, you're still the one running naked in the streets."
If somebody wants to run naked in the streets, just let them do it. You don't have to run after them.
(Ironically, I said this to a coworker the other day, too. Being an adult with a job doesn't guarantee you never have to interact with shitty people, unfortunately.)
On that same note, I appreciate the compliment about my zutara posts, but it's okay if you don't like the ship. Shipping is a personal choice and you don't have to have reasons for why you do or don't ship something. If my posts resonate with you, great! But I'm not here to convince anyone of anything.
Anyway, have a nice day and take care of yourself! You seem like you have a solid head on your shoulders, so don't let fandom stuff get you down.
