one of the funniest underrated parts of animorphs to me is the fact that time travel is a surprisingly common plot point, and yet it kinda gets glossed over because it almost never factors into the story in a way that actually matters. like. jake dies crossing the delaware but gets better on a technicality. there were aliens on earth at the same time as the dinosaurs but the asteroid got them too. time travel is a known phenomenon that the andalites have studied, but we don’t actually get any explanation for it because ax was distracted in class that day. everyone went back in time 24 hours and then died and forgot everything. two separate members of the main cast are different varieties of time anomalies and really the only effect it has on them is tobias getting over his family issues. jake is shown a prophetic vision of a world where the yeerks win and we just never get an explanation for what the fuck that was about. every time time travel is brought up, it contradicts at least one other time travel plotline. this is the series that taught me to never take time travel seriously in fiction and i can’t thank it enough for that. this is hilarious.

who in the nxx yells “THERE’S A BUG” and who removes the bug, and how?
HELP HAHAHAKHVFAHSF THIS IS A LOVELY PROMPT, THANK U FOR THIS!!!
those who yell "THERES A BUG": marius and mc
now im not saying both of them are particularly squeamish, no no, they can definitely keep it cool when the situation Calls For It. that being said, seeing a bug in the nxx meeting room on a slow day isnt exactly the most high stakes of situations, so the most High Stakes Element remains to be whatever bug they see
mc just doesnt like bugs, theyre creepy theyre crawly and she doesnt trust anything that can dart out of her line of vision in the blink of an eye
marius also doesnt like bugs and because of his upbringing, he did not get to see very many of them growing up. which means every time he Did see a Bug Intruder, it's like a Category 5 Drama Moment
the moment they see the bug, theyre announcing it LOUDLY to everybody else in the room while also getting up to stand on some chairs
those who dont yell "THERES A BUG" but does look at the bug and track its every movement while sitting still like a statue hoping the bug doesnt notice him, as if bugs operate on some kind of t-rex knowledge: artem
let's rewind a bit. before marius and mc saw the bug, artem saw it first. and he just
didnt say anything about it
artem.....Also Does Not Like Bugs. but he also also doesnt like being loud about things he doesnt like so he just Sits There, so still you'd think he fucking died, and he hopes the bug mistakes him for some kind of inanimate man-shaped furniture and avoids him due to sheer disinterest
it doesnt avoid him.
it probably crawls or flies very close to him a few times the only thing that stops him from screaming "THERES A BUG" is his self-control thats as hard as cast-iron skillet
it's fine though because marius and mc spot it and sound the alarm
(thank god)
those who remove the bug: luke and vyn
luke and vyn are the ones who will both 1) be completely unbothered by the bug and 2) have to bring it out
the reason for luke is obvious, he's had wilderness survival training and probably had to eat bugs like in an episode of Man VS Wild to survive on an uninhabited island, so hes REALLY past any squeamishness with bugs. in fact, if mc said the word, luke would grab the bug and crush it with his bare hands
and vyn is a gardener!!! bugs are APLENTY in the garden, so he sees them not as malevolent but as important creatures in a healthy ecosystem. the bug probably got in from vyn's garden, actually, since nxx hq is on his property
and thus
The Timeline Of Events When a Bug Appears In The NXX HQ Meeting Room
bug: //crawls in
artem: //sees it, soul leaves his body for a bit and he petrifies himself as a defense mechanism
mc: why did artem go so still
marius: i dont know, maybe hes rebooting?
mc: dont be mean!
marius: im not being mea---FUCK
mc: what?
marius: THERES A BUG
mc: theres a wha---THERES A BUG
marius and mc: //immediately moving to stand on the couch
artem: //still Not Moving, hoping that mc and marius' sudden movements attract it
bug: //flexes wings open and closed
mc: NNNNO NO NO NO
marius: STOP DOING THAT MOTHERFUCKER
mc: NONONNONONONNNONONNOONONOONOO
marius: AAAAAAAAAA
vyn and luke, coming back in from where they were in the file room: ???
mc: THERES A BUG THERES A BUG
luke: oh. do you want me to kill it?
mc: NO!!
marius: YES!!!!!!
artem: i havent moved in 20 minutes
mc: JUST BRING IT OUT
luke: dead or alive?
mc: ALIVE
marius: DEAD
vyn, while they were all conversing: //gently coaxes the bug onto his palm and lets it out through the window
vyn's rationale here was that luke was doing a great job at handling (i.e. distracting) the People, so he went ahead and took care of the Bug. the bug will not be returning to the nxx meeting room because it was quite cold with no soil and also VERY loud

hey there! big fan of your art & writing here, and i recently roped my friend into reading your weresnoodle rps (they got through them all in a day and i am STILL shocked and impressed abt it). i know you’re not into ahit anymore, so feel free to ignore this message if you want, but we were just wondering if there had been a set plan for the AU’s ending after the last one left off? the cliffhanger is KILLING both of us, so i figured i may as well ask. hope you’re doing well!! 💚
Hey! Sorry this took like a week to get back to you- It's been a few years since this rp stopped, and while I've talked with @kiptsune and there is a chance we may continue sometime in the future since we still like this story a lot, we figured we've probs left everybody on a cliffhanger for long enough. (SO sorry about that, I completely forgot what the last bit we'd posted was!!) And I DID promise years back that I'd say how the rest of the story we planned would go if it didn't seem like we'd finish it, so here I am, finally making good on that promise!
So yeah I spent the past week going through our old plans for this AU and talking with Kippie to help piece things back together, rereading old parts, and finally gathering everything together to write how I think the end of the story would go. I did have to take some creative liberties to fill in some smaller story gaps here and there, so no guarantees this is one-to-one how things would go should we pick it back up, but I did my best. XD ; I also have the rest of the RP we'd written after Chapter 10, so I'm posting that along with the ending summary!
First, here's the folder with all of the previous parts, for anyone who hasn't read it before.
And without further ado... THE REST OF FERAL FOOLS!

me: oh i totally get it if some folks dont jive with same coin theory, plus it's strange to conceptualise at first--
me when i see people call it lame:
Tumblr media
#is it any more lame than bill just becoming a bird after a decade of waiting#they dont understand the poetry of bill creating his own end in the form of someone he despises yet gets everything he wanted!!!#sounds like 'i didnt know about the axolotl poem and was oblivious to the bill reincarnation for the past 8 years' talk!#y'all need to appreciate a good ol bootstrap paradox!!! love me some time shenanigans!#also the funniest thing i've seen when folks were denying same coin theory was#'oh that's a paradox so that clearly can't happen!!!!'#as if both time travel eps arent entirely bootstrap paradoxes that literally points the paradox out#and the fact that soos and stan met is one too!!!#...which then makes any canon divergent aus where dipper and mabel dont make it to that ep have the timeline fall apart lol#but everyone forgets about that so whatever!!!#....yes i have beef with the inconsistencies of time travel in the eps but whatever#..........if the kids replace themselves when time travelling then what about the baby versions in 2002--#could you imagine time travellers pig with a billion time duplicates of the kids tho lmao#my point is a paradox brought this family together canonically#defying time and space and lifetimes and trauma theyre all silly goobers together!!!#anyway here's me grumbling cos it was a plot thread left out for years that we were meant to discuss/think about#too bad we didnt expect the 'bill is too busy in theraprison to get reincarnated rn' twist

Ok I’m ready to talk a bit about Nephalem’s AU. I think I'm missing some stuff but i'll update it/reblog it with additions if i remember
Hunted Spirits AU
So I said Radiant and Obsidian come from the same multiverse, but it's actually a coalition of four different but somehow connected multiverses. Each individual multiverse is referred to as an “Area”.
The Central Area
The DINTIS Area
The JMV Area
The DS Area
No one knows what the fuck those abbreviations mean anymore. If I remember right, most people don’t know that the areas are technically four different MVs, but usually they at least know that AU travel is thing. A lot of people do travel, too. It’s been like this for so long it might as well have been forever.
OG Nightmare and Dream are from the central area. It’s the OGMV. I don’t have to tell you what the other three are
Due to fuckery no one has been able to figure out, there’s an ungodly amount of Trees of Feelings. They just keep popping up. Even in AUs that aren’t Dreamtale variants. And they all end up with two spirits guarding them.
People figured out a long time ago that the Apples don’t do anything for you if you’re not a spirit.
Eventually, someone got the idea to use them to help AUs going through famines.
It worked great for a long time.
Around when that started, some of the older spirits decided that, if the apples didn’t really need to be guarded, the guardians didn’t need to be stuck with the tree forever.
A nice spot was found, and a huge mansion was built. A system was set up to alert them when a new pair of spirits appeared.
An AU with a Tree of Feelings might be found quickly, but there may be no way to get to it until the universe decides to let people in. There was no way to gauge how long it would be.
Sometimes the spirits are fully-grown adults. This happened with Jet, Dark, Obsidian, Jade, Radiant, and Moon.
Terror and Reverie’s AU only became accessible after Terror had turned his brother to stone and left; when they were about 6. There were many other pairs who were still kids when outsiders could come visit.
Each time a new pair was found, they were brought to the mansion, which ended up being called the Spirit House. The kids would stay, grow up with a loving family. The adults might stay, and many did, but some left to pursue other goals.
JR started out trying to eradicate negativity, but they realized soon enough that it was pointless and turned their attention to other matters. Specifically Obsidian, Jet, and Terror; though Terror pretended to be content with just taking over his area so Radiant mainly focused on Obsidian and Jet.
But all of them—Radiant, Moon, Jet, Dark, Reverie, Jade, and even Terror and Obsidian—had people they cared about in the Spirit House. They visited a lot. Obsidian, Radiant, Jet, and Terror had something of a truce, when visiting. Terror and Reverie, too. So long as they left each other alone, and didn’t hurt anyone else, they could chill. Mostly.
There were an uncountable number of spirits. Somewhere in the thousands. Not all of them lived in the Spirit House. Terror and Reverie are old, but they were far from the oldest. So many of them got to have a family, after being on their own for so long. For the most part, they were all pretty happy.
And then it all went to shit!
Cannibalism warning
A pair of very young spirits fell into a horror AU; maybe a normal Horrortale, maybe another variant. These spirits appeared human, so it wasn’t too surprising that the inhabitants killed them.
What was a surprise was when some of the people who had a few bites were suddenly able to use spirit magic.
All of them had eaten at least one magic apple.
This news spreads quickly.
It can't be kept a secret.
Some of the other spirits don't hear anything about it, though.
Suddenly, everyone is watching for a new AU to appear.
and when one does, it's immediately attacked. And this time, the person eats way, way more apples.
The other spirits get there well after the fact.
People start popping up with spirit-like magic, while spirits start disappearing. And it turns out that eating a corrupt or a radiant—any spirit that’s eaten more than one apple—transfers all of that power to you.
Jet, Reverie, and Moon are the first ones to figure out what’s going on, are understandably freaked out, and try to warn the others.
But the House wasn’t exactly kept a secret.
By the time they got there, all that was left of the House’s inhabitants were bloodstains.
Now they, Terror, Dark, Radiant, Obsidian, and Jade are the only spirits left.
…actually that’s a lie Dot’s around somewhere, but she’s managed to disguise herself as a normal human. She’ll be fine for a while.
Reverie, Moon, and Jet hurry off to warn the other five, and for a while they all hide okay. But Obsidian, Jet, and Terror have to put their plans of multiverse domination on hold, and some of Radiant’s own people are genuinely considering turning on him, for his power.
Eventually they all decide it’s safest for all of them to stick together, and stay hidden. They find some place in the middle of nowhere, and bring anyone who’s know to hang out with them. This includes Reverie’s friend, OF Blue (‘Berry’). Also Obsidian’s entire team, Zuli, DS Ink (Sketch), the rest of the Meme Squad, and the original Horror (Fanon version), Dust, and Killer.
It’s… surprisingly roomy. But it’s very small compared to most of their old homes.
Mercury manages to create a little device that puts out a sort of magic shield; anyone can come and go, but no one from outside will be able to sense the spirits within it.
It’s more than a little tense. But since Radiant’s literally right there and ready to fry their asses, Terror, Jet, and Obsidian (obsidian’s the biggest worry) don’t mess with anyone too much. Aside from being bitchy.
Finch remains loyal to Radiant and has taken over in his absence, but while he knows where Radiant and the others are he never visits or anything. For their own safety.
DS Blue (‘Cobalt’) doesn’t stay with them, but he does pop in once in a while. He’s enough of a nobody that he can get away with it. He becomes their main source of news, and also brings them stuff if they ask.
Most of the others there who aren’t spirits are mostly safe to leave, but with exception of Berry, Mercury, Jasper, and Zuli—who can’t leave on their own anyway—every single one of them is known throughout the multiverse, and known to associate with at least one of the remaining spirits. They do sometimes leave, since they can’t have Cobalt do everything for them, but they try to do it as little as possible.
While this is happening, many humans (and even a few monsters) get together and start forming groups. They all have their own individual names, but they’re all hunters. Spirit Hunters.
The remaining spirits and their cohorts do everything they can to start hoarding the remaining apples, and tracking down new spirits before the hunters do, but they have very little luck rescuing new spirits for a long time.
But they do have a stockpile of apples, so there’s that
Obsidian doesn’t trust his team not to try to kill him, but he trusts them not to cannabalize him. So they have to stay with him so he knows they won’t rat him and the others out to some hunters. Fortunately none of them are desperate enough for that, and honestly all things considered this is the happiest they’ve been in a while. Which is depressing
Sketch wants to bang her head into the wall
Reverie and Jet have mostly processed their grief, but Moon is still trying to process the rest of it. Unlike the other two, he’s never seen the aftermath of such a massacre. He’s not equipped to deal with this. reverie’s happy to sit with him and try to help him though.
But of course. With so many apples right there, it’s far too tempting for an evil bastard to take a few.
Radiant notices immediately when Obsidian starts snitching the black ones, and while his first instinct is to kick his ass and make him stop, there’s no room for that here. And if they’re at each other’s throats any more than they already are, this is going to be hell.
So his solution is to eat some of the gold ones. Obsidian is never the strongest spirit in the building for very long.
If he can’t stop Obsidian, Radiant can at least make sure there’s someone who can keep him in check if he does try to start shit.
that’s how they end up turning into dragons, though it takes…uhhhh lemme see. I don’t think I ever specified before.
The original Tree had 1,000 apples, and Terror could only get 999. I doubt anyone else would have bothered trying to get more than that. So probably it happens when they break 1,000.
Eventually they make headway with rescuing new spirits. And slowly, they get more successful; they reach the new guys before the hunters do, and get them out of there safely.
Soon enough their little hidey hole gets crowded. So they build outward.
At first Ichigo just steals a few houses and brings them over, but eventually they start building new houses, too. And while they’re at it, they plant some fruit and vegetable seeds.
More shields are made and placed around the perimeter. Mercury teaches any of the new guys that are interested how he made them, and how to keep up with maintenance.
Shockingly, Jade and Dark decide to live in their own house together. And so do Jet and Obsidian. And the Meme Squad. And Reverie and Berry. Terror sticks with his idiots, too. The original house ends up being sort of like the town hall.
They set up a system to decide the appropriate candidates for taking care of whatever children show up. Radiant and Reverie work on it together, knowing they have very different views on this sort of thing. They have a list of people who are not allowed to take care of children, and a list of people who aren’t willing. For example:
Zuli is allowed, but not willing, because he’s not good with kids at all.
Jet is willing, but not allowed, mostly because he lives with Obsidian.
Obsidian is neither willing nor allowed, because he hates dealing with kids and everyone’s pretty sure he’d be neglectful, at best.
But it’s nice. Nice to have their own place, to have space to run around, to have space for the kids to play, to be able to go outside without worrying about being found.
This town which I never named is the only sanctuary left for spirits in their multiverse.
This is the town that Radiant and Obsidian (and by extension, Nephalem) protect.
Although Radiant and Obsidian are on thin fucking ice with each other, and everyone’s waiting for them to fly off and have a real, smack-down drag-out fight. Themselves included. But for now they just stay on more-or-less opposite sides of town, and bitch at each other when they’re in earshot of each other. They continue snacking on apples, too, but it’s not as much about keeping each other in check anymore. There’s a bit of that, sure; but mostly they want to be able to protect the others from any threat. Even an army of hunters, if they have to.
Obsidian kind of hopes that’ll happen, but not as much as you might think. He wants to test out his new strength properly, but he doesn’t want to risk anyone else (except Radiant) getting hurt. He never admits to that part, though.
And of course Obsidian acts like he’s doing all of this for selfish reasons but everyone knows better. Jet’s the only one who pesters him about it though because everyone else actually has a sense a self-preservation.
Bonus backstory for the main 8 spirits that wasn’t main-plot-relevant:
Radiant, Obsidian, and Terror weren’t found for a while, though Terror was the most elusive.
Radiant was found a few years after he created JR, but given the organization’s mission statement they decided it was best to make a game plan before trying to talk to him. Moon was easier to find than he’d like to admit, but he was able to stay at the Spirit House for a while. He snuck off on his own, afraid of what Radiant would do if he found it, but he came back regularly.
Jet and Dark were found very soon, but they weren’t brought back together. They found Jet first, and he left before they found Dark.
Reverie was found like, immediately, and they made sure he’d be protected until he was revived.
Jade was found quickly, too. Obsidian didn’t take very long to track down after that, though they were just as hesitant to talk to him as they were Radiant. For slightly different reasons.
Terror was spotted many times before someone finally was able to catch him and talk to him.
By the time they figured out the safest way to talk to Obsidian, Radiant had learned about the fucking pandemic of Trees popping up everywhere, and had to come to terms with the fact that his goal was, in fact, completely pointless and futile. Some of the other spirits came to chat, and persuaded him to give it up for good. Moon and his friends were cleared of all charges,
Obsidian and Terror were told the same thing:
As spirits, they have a right to know about the House, and where it is. But if they start shit, there’s a dozen or so very old and very powerful spirits who can and will whoop their asses.
Terror ends up becoming a favorite of the kids, for reasons completely beyond him. He visits more often that he cares to admit.
Obsidian says he doesn’t care about anyone there, but he still visits. And there’s a couple of people that he always goes to see.
Radiant is also a hit with the kids. But not quite as much as Moon, who teaches them the ways of mischief and chaos
While JR has abandoned its initial mission statement of eradicating negativity, they still work to make the multiverse a better place. Which makes Obsidian, Jet, and Terror their top priorities.
Moon’s face is still known throughout the multiverse, but he’s not wanted anymore so people mostly leave him be. Same with Ichigo and Stitches
Obsidian’s actually slightly less emotionally constipated, since there are a few other people he cares about. But only slightly.
Jade gets to leave the manor but ONLY on specific holidays. And he just goes back to the House with Obsidian. They’re careful not to talk about their relationship; Obsidian for obvious reasons, and Jade because Obsidian told him too. Some of Jade’s friends there were pretty sure something was up but were never able to actually do anything.

the real reason why selfship fic with zihark is likely to stay his pov is because if it were from my pov all of those parts would be written with all the eloquence of a fourth grader scribbling in those black and white composition notebooks 'he is sooooooooooo pretty and sooooooOOooOooOo gorgeous' with fifty highlighter hearts all around.

ok so i watched Timecut and I'm so confused what exactly the timeline with the murders is supposed to be.
(Spoilers)
So possibility 1:
Did Quinn after the River incident decide to murder everyone and then either quickly build the timemachine or already have it handy and then everything just happened chronologically? Like River inicent -> Murder 1 -> Murder 2 -> (he tries to give Summer the letter) -> Murder 3 -> time-travels away to whereever to not get caught
But that doesn't really make sense because 1) why would he give Summer that letter after already revenge-murdering all her friends? and 2) murder-Quinn said Summer told him she would never be able to love him like that. Which didn't happen in the original-timeline we saw. Quinn tried to give Summer the letter but that other guy pulled her away before he even had the opportunity to and we see everything Summer does from then on and she gets murdered like ten minutes later so it's not like it could have happened off-screen. and most glaringly 3) how would murder-Quinn even know any time travel rules since he just got started and when exactly did he time travel and where to and when does Lucy get involved and nothing about this makes sense. So this is probably not what happened.
So (more likely) possibility 2:
Did Quinn after the River inicent make the whole plan to years later travel back in time and murder everyone?
So what would have happened is River incident -> spends years building the Timemachine -> travels back (probably from 2023 for consistency purposes, from a timeline where Summer and everyone was alive and Lucy never existed) -> Murders 1&2 happen -> (2003-Quinn tries to give Summer the letter but doesn't get the opportunity to so what even is up with him in the alternate future (=Lucy's timeline) that would have created because it seemingly isn't the one murder-Quinn remembers, because he said he got rejected verbally) -> new timeline is created where Lucy exists -> this causes Lucy to travel back in time and prevent (some of) the murders.
So that would mean that Lucy's timeline was already a timetravel altered timeline and before Quinn timetraveled there was a Lucy-less, murderless timeline with a bitter Quinn.
But what was the time machine doing in that barn then? Like it can't just have been standing there since 2003 because someone would have noticed it. And it can't have just been left over from murder-Quinn traveling back because that wouldn't have happened in Lucy's timeline, because if the murders had already happened in her timeline Lucy-timeline-Quinn therefore wouldn't have any need to travel back in time and make them happen.
So to summarize, there's a third timeline we never get to see where murder-Quinn came from, but then how tf did Lucy herself timetravel?
possibility 3:
Quinn created a timeloop
so he planned the murders -> build the time machine -> travels back in time from 2023 to 2003 -> murders everyone (while this timelines 2003-Quinn pretty much knows what's happening because he's already planning to do the same thing) -> 2003-Quinn lives in a timeline where the murders happen -> still builds the time machine -> travels back to make the murders happen again = so time loop, basically harry potter time-turner rules.
But again, that's not consistent because murder-Quinn should still remember the timeline where he never had the opportunity to give Summer the letter instead of getting rejected like he said. because the timeline where no murders ever happened never existed because it's a timeloop. So everything that happens while time travelling actually already happened and all he does is ensure it happens again.
Except if it's a mixture between 2 & 3 i guess, where it's not really a loop and still kind of linear.
so possibilty 4 i guess:
plans murder -> builds machine -> lives in time where no one died -> travels back -> murders -> but then either murder-Quinn would have to wait around to create the loop himself or Lucy-original-timeline-Quinn would have to travel back to create the loop but that doesn't make sense because again, wrong memories and also wouldn't there have to be two murder-Quinn's in that case? one from the murder-free-timeline and one from the Lucy-timeline ensuring the timeloop? Or murder-Quinn travels back to 2003 and murders and then travels back to the future (so Lucy's timeline) to immediatley go back to ensure that the murders still happen?
So fully chronological (from murder-Quinn's perspective) it would be:
River incident -> gets rejected by Summer -> decides to murder her & starts to build the time machine for it -> travels back from 2023 to 2003 -> murder 1&2 -> (due to altered timeline the Quinn actually living in 2003 doesn't get to give Summer the letter but also he's entirely irrelevant to everything) -> murder 3 -> murder-Quinn travels right after the murder in the barn from 2003 back to 2023 which is now the Lucy-timeline (we ignore that he somehow had to already have the time machine set up there) -> immediatley gets back in the time machine once he arrives in 2023 and travels from the new future (=Lucy-timeline) to 2003 to ensure everything still happens because now there still needs to be some kind of time loop -> that's the flashing light Lucy sees in the barn that causes her to go to 2003 (why didn't the time machine go with him, why is there still that thing they needed to steal in order for it to work in it??? but whatever)
(or maybe the flashing light was murder-Quinn arriving in the Lucy-timeline after travelling back. which would explain why the time machine is there and why it's still got "fuel" (since he was planning on traveling back immediatley) which would mean he'd have to??? build a second time machine to go back to 2003? since Lucy travelled to 2003 with his? or maybe he already had a back-up time machine? and where did he even go like why did Lucy even have the opportunity to get in the time machine before he travelled back? but i guess maybe he wanted to take a look at what Lucy-timeline-2023 looked like before traveling back? but if that happened i feel like he should be significantly more pissed off at Lucy. and honestly why isn't he like he has to have known she didn't belong in 2003 since he already lived it (twice?) so...why isn't he going after her considering she's messing with his entire plan) ->
technically because Lucy-timeline Quinn never had reason to build the time machine and plan the murders they're now again in the murder-less timeline 2003, so the murders murder-Quinn just committed (from his perspective) never happened and he has to redo all of them. So the murder-Quinn we see in the movie from his perspective has actually already done everything Lucy remembers and was literally just about to do everything the same again but obviously Lucy fucks that up.
Honestly even though I'm not entirely sure that's consistent with the (very few) rules the movie established, that's probably the theory with the least plot holes (at least as far as my extremly tired brain is concerned). But I'm kind of doubting that's what the movie was actually going for.
Then there are also the less thought out but still existent possibilities:
Or possibility 5:
murder-Quinn time traveled after every single murder.
But where would he get that fancy thingy they needed to steal in order to timetravel all the time. Or I guess he could just always travel somewhere where they just have a lot of supply but still the time machine is pretty heavy and it's not like he can just carry it around in his pocket so????
Or possibility 6:
he murdered Summer first and then travelled back to murder everyone else.
explains how the whole got-rejected-then-decided-to-murder thing fits but still doesn't explain the fact that he did not actually get rejected in the flashback we see. Also doesn't explain anything else about anything murder-Quinn says. So. No.
I feel like they probably meant for it to just be possibility 2, but it doesn't even matter because for most of the possibilites where 2003-Quinn isn't actually doing the murdering and time traveling, he's got to come from a murder-free timeline so why not help explain that with at least flashbacks to murder-Quinn's original timeline while he's having his evil villain monologue?
And maybe crank up the tragedy a bit more, like really hammer it down how much his life sucked during those 20 years because right now it seems pretty ridiculous to hold a grudge for all that time, enough to be a grown man travelling back in time to murder your high school crush that rejected you because she's a lesbian, especially considering she probably would have come out at some point within those 20 years considering she was actually already planning it.
I mean yeah murder-Quinn obviously thought it was personal, but shouldn't he have checked up on what his timelines Summer was up to in her life before actually travelling back to murder her? I mean obviously incels gonna incel but considering they want us to believe that ending-timeline-Quinn really is a good person who would never do something like that and wasn't just, you know, one rejection away from spending the next twenty years planning a murder, they really should have done something more.
And also like at least give us a bit more of an existential crisis from Lucy's side realising that not only was she only born because her sister was murdered but she is specifically the product of someone time travelling back to murder her sister, so a future where she never existed has basically already happened and she really just existed in the short space between murder-Quinn travelling back to 2003 and her following him? Like honestly the true horror in this movie was just purely existential.
So yeah to summarise: they really should have spend two more minutes explaining what actually happened so I didn't have to spend so much time overthinking it.

Broadchurch crime scene shenanigans!
Ellie stares at the contents of the freezer. "All right, well this is horrible," she says, while around her SOCO is taking pictures and putting things in bags. Not that there's much — the bedsit is almost completely empty, furniture gone and dust spinning along the corners of the room.
Hardy sniffs and makes a face like he regrets it — the freezer's been plugged in but even so, the smell of severed head isn't a pleasant one. Not to mention poor little Lachlan, being efficiently sick into an evidence bag he'd fumbled out of his pocket upon viewing the body.
Well, part of the body.
"Why does he look familiar?" Ellie's only been living here in Glasgow for six months, but Broadchurch has been harder to shake off than she thought; she still braces herself at every crime scene for the possibility that the victim, the assailant, the witnesses will be people she knows. But this city's a half-million strong and despite Hardy's complaints, she hasn't made friends with everyone on her street.
"It's — the head — uh," Lachlan says from the doorway, still gagging a bit but rallying. "I think it's the head of the body that MHU pulled out of the Clyde last week."
"God's sake," Hardy mutters, but Ellie ignores him and pulls out her mobile.
Annika answers the first ring. "Please don't say it," she says, instead of hello. "Because if you do, then that's two heads you've found that belong to us and at this rate, I think it qualifies as theft."
Ellie doesn't laugh, because she's standing at a crime scene with a decapitated victim and that seems disrespectful somehow. "You're more then welcome to this one—"
"Oi," Hardy protests, making a gesture for the phone.
Ellie turns away from him. "But I'm on holiday in two days so your main point of contact is going to be Hardy."
There's a long silence on the other end, and then a clinking sound before Michael gets on the line. "She just covered her hands with her face and dropped her phone," he reports. "And is now staring out a window muttering about Ernest Hemmingway."
"I think that means we won," Ellie tells Hardy, covering the mouthpiece. Hardy sniffs again and looks even more disgusted.

One day, in the future of In Blue and White, Northern Water Tribe women will flock to Fire Nation theaters to see Love Amongst the Dragons. They will be greatly disappointed to realize that the Fire Nation version of the tale is missing the Dark Water Spirit's redemption arc, and that his love interest, the kind mortal Lady Angie, seems to be completely absent from the story. Many FN theaters will rewrite the play with their new found audience in mind.
Fire Lord Zuko has many thoughts regarding the changes to one of his (and his mother's) favorite plays. For the sake of avoiding an international incident and allowing the theaters to keep their unexpected windfall, he keeps his opinions to himself. (In public, anyway.)

playing cyberpunk on my own, in its fairly well-optimized and patched state, where i try my best to take the story seriously and be immersed, and then going back to vinny's 2020 stream of the game in all its buggy glory, where he purposely tries to break it at every turn and has no idea what's happening w the plot half the time....is p whiplash-inducing. incredible how different an experience any one person can have with the same thing.
