While I do think using the four sword causes some bad physical/mental side effects, I ultimately think that the biggest drawback ends up being that none of Four’s colours ever do what he wants unless it’s a life or death situation. Four has a lot of work so he decides to spilt to get everything done on time. It does not go well.

Red and Blue both run on emotions so they immediately get distracted by whatever’s more interesting and leave. Red might eventually get back on track (if he remembers) but there’s still a 50/50 chance that he goes “oh but I don’t wanna do that now.. hope the others do it for me! <3”. Blue’s better at remembering but if the conditions for doing The Task are slightly Off it’s going to make him want to rip his own hair out so he just calls it quits. Green and Vio are more likely to actually get stuff done but the second someone asks Green for a favour he’s gone. He’ll end up spending the entire day running around delivering pastries or something cause people keep asking him for things and hes incapable of refusing. Vio will spend thirty minutes coming up with some sort of convoluted loophole to avoid The Task before disappearing into the woods for the next three days. He could’ve completed The Task in those same thirty minutes but he just didn’t feel like doing it in the moment. Four eventually reforms and literally nothing had been done. The real reason he keeps the four sword a secret from the chain is because he’s embarrassed about the fact that all the colours are literally so fucking stupid on their own

My brainrot today is thinking about just how incredible for a character Eowyn is.

Genuinely. The series might not have many female characters but the ones we do get go so fucking hard.

To me, Eowyn is literally the definition of defining being a woman for oneself. She rejects the roles she is given despite acknlowdging the importance and its mostly because she knows part of the reason is that she is a woman.

The reason why she is obsessed with Aragorn isn't because she loves him but because she wants what he has. She wants the freedom and courage and bravery that Aragorn has at every turn. She literally has multiple conversations during the Two Towers about how what she fears most is a cage. All this girl wants is the freedom to be and not be forced into a role. The best thing is that she literally gets that.

The segment of Return of the King about Eowyn and Faramir is literally about her piecing together what she truly wants. She doesn't want Aragorn. She wants freedom and the ability to choose. Faramir does nothing but encourage that in her. Their love story is literally one of the healthiest love stories I've seen in a long time because at the heart of it, their love is a place to return home to for both parties. Both go off to lead and help their people for a considerable amount of time before returning to each other but that does not diminish their bond. Even Faramir, I believe, falls in love with her bravery and dedication to her loved ones. The reason she went to Pelenor Fields and Gondor with the troops of Rohan was because she had things she wanted to fight for. She wanted to fight for herself, her people, and her loved ones. She is the one who protects Theoden after he is killed so that his body gets the treatment it deserves. She encourages Merry and helps him go to the battle because she sees her struggle in Merry. They feel helpless standing around when there are things to be doing.

Let's also not forget the fact that she was around Grima Wormtounge just as much as the King was. She was exposed to the same poison and awful words that eroded the king. It's even implied that her care for him is part of the reason why Theoden was savable when Gandalf showed up. She had the same power and bravery as everyone else even if she didn't see it in herself.

Then at the end of the day, SHE decides where she wants to go and what path she wants to walk. She walked the path of a warrior. The path of a princess/ruler. The path of a caretaker. But in the end she decides which elements truly mean something to her outside of gender definitions. That is what makes her character so incredible to me. In this she literally kills one of the biggest enemies in that battle with such a badass line.

#i could talk for ages about how i see the struggle of defining being a woman for oneself in her #she rejects the feminine roles given to her but she also doesnt quite want the masculine ones #she just wants the freedom to choose and have the same respect that men are given #she doesnt want to be belitted because she is a woman #thats literally what Faramir gives her and why she stays with him #Faramir loves her for her not anything else #he respects her as she does him #i am someone who is a woman but rejects the definitons of being a woman because they are toxic and caging #all i want is the freedom and respect of being a HUMAN being #i lend more masculine because that is where that freedom is more often but i also see how toxic that relam is too #niether side is good which is why i choose my own path and defintiom #the fact that eowyn gets such a similar story in a series written by a man in the mid 1900s is incredible #i am someone who would love to have more female characters but i do not want them at the expense of them being proper characters and humans #ive read a lot of fantasy women do not always get the agency they deserve #i would rather take fewer well written women then a bunch of poorly written female characters #lotr has that #eowyn arwen and galadriel are all given agency and the space to be their own individuals which makes them incredible characters #thats what i want out of books and ficition #god im making myself insane about my own thoughts lol #i could talk for ages im not kidding #eowyn #eowyn of rohan #lotr #lotr rambling #lord of the rings #the two towers #the return of the king

But what if... The roles get switched?

Imagine YOUR F/O coming across an edit of 🫵YOU.

How do they react? Do they freeze on the spot? Stop EVERYTHING as they get lost into the hypnotizing video in front of their eyes? Brain malfunctioning? Nerves exploding? Face going beet red? Having a nosebleed?

#UTDR #UTMV #Nightmare Sans #I just realised earlier I've been just kinda assuming this as fact and I don't know where it came from #cause I don't think it's canon and I can't think of seeing it anywhere else #So maybe it's just me idk #Anyway it's something I wanted to be more prevalent when I was doing the truce au comic (which if I ever work on again I'll probably restar #cause I didn't really know what I was doing and there's stuff I wanna amend)#But the idea was that at the start of their attempted truce the tentacles made Dream uncomfortable #(Not only because Nightmare often used them against him in battle but also it's something different about his brother from his #childhood memories and it was jarring to see his one constant be changed)#He didn't say anything about it but obviously Nightmare could feel it #So whenever Dream was around I would make a point of drawing him with the tentacles sucked in #It was his little unspoken effort to make the truce work. because he wanted it very badly but would rather die than admit it #(or try to figure out why)#But over the course of the truce Dream would notice and start encouraging him to have them out and be himself #Showing Nightmare a little acceptence because despite the differences that's still his brother #You ever write six times more in the tags than the actual post lol #These are the DVD extras of the post you have to go looking for these #Director's commentary of my silly little thoughts :3 #Anyway thoughts?

Seeing people say that we never see the Doctor and Ruby talking for more than 30 seconds makes me think 73 Yards and Dot and Bubble has just clouded their memories because the first four episodes of this era are almost nothing but the Doctor and Ruby talking and bonding.

Yeah, the Doctor-lite episodes meant we haven't had as much lately, but so many are going on as there's been none at all, as if every episode before 73 Yards was like Rogue where they were mostly separated in their own plotlines.

#doctor who #dw #fifteenth doctor #ruby sunday #ncuti gatwa #millie gibson #and don't get me started on the tardis bookends discourse #that argument lost all credibility when the same people insisted the ending of rogue be moved to the tardis #for no reason other than they wanted it in the tardis #it was exactly the type of scene they said the season was lacking #but didn't count because it wasn't in the tardis #same as with boom #one of the reasons they don't do tardis scenes at the start and end of every episode is because they get rather repetative #if you started rogue with the doctor and ruby in the tardis it would just end up being a repeated of the devil's chord #they decide to do bridgerton and get all dressed up #we don't really need a scene explaining why they're there #it is built into the whole show that they are just roamers #often randomly showing up in places and trying to have fun #for them going to a regency ball is no different than going to a club is for most people #wildest one was someone complaining why they were in wales at the start of 73 yards #they argued that because we didn't get a scene in the tardis we had no idea if being there was intentional or not #but that is irrelevant #the tardis often just lands in random places and the doctor and co have no idea where they are until they step outside #so many episodes start with them stepping outside and going “where the hell are we?”#everything that could've been said in the tardis was said outside it #there was no need to split that between two locations #especially when one actors time is limited #this all feels tied into the ongoing discourse about shows being longer #which many say is to it in more character beats #but honestly just feels like a hunger for more content

#I liked oblivion well enough but it's got a lot of Very Serious problems that were never solved and instead festered forward into genre norm #although technically if you want to get more specific here #the problems that I complain most often about now actually started under the surface of morrowind's development #and intensified with the reception to tribunal #and then caught on fire with the lessons learned from bloodmoon (which is proto-oblivion in a lot of ways)#as with so many things the damage was more in the wrong lessons being learned from games with scrappy development cycles #and how those became incredibly toxic when applied as the standard for development rather than a freak accident of planning #consider how oblivion passively fucking up your character was a solution to people trying to play off-build in morrowind #and how skyrim being incredibly easy was a solution to oblivion's level-rotting #and how both of these solutions are solving a symptom by removing friction without replacing it #which is further incentivised because the game now has fewer features that would turn off someone who would otherwise not play an rpg

#did a bunch of pkmn from memory today. this and deoxys were the roughest #pokemon #heatmor #pokemon bw #sketches #considering this guys only on victory road in bw and therefore not a pokemon i look at too often: i’m preddy surprised i remembered the #braces around its wrists have little vents on them #unova #so the thought here is that its body- save for the ‘clay’ which is bare n tough skin- is furry rather than straight up lava #which i guess is the case? iirc it doesn’t emit light in the sprites or in the 3d games #but the yellow parts DO produce heat. the brighter they are the more intense the heat. etc

the rayou tv effect on his fellow friends and streamers truly cannot be understated . he makes every single one of his relationships feel special . people love having his attention and love trying to get it . he always tries his best to include everyone in the conversation . people keep trying to make him the leader even though he doesn’t want to be . he manages to charm the ccs with even the most hardass of personas . if you look at him wrong even a little bit those ccs will kill you
