WE NEED TO TALK, SAMS DISCORD.

Some as many of you know in the fandom of SAMS and all other shows, there is a discord where you can join and connect with others of the fandom, join contests, etc etc etc.

The discord is mostly knon to host events for artists where some get picked and get featured in videos in the show they were based off.

However, I'd like to bring to bring to light a very serious matter. The discord and the mods running it.

Now, some of the mods aren't bad people. They're doing their jobs and are nice and welcoming. Others, not so much. In the discord, there are various rules you must follow for events and being in the discord itself. Like no fighting, be respectful, etc.

However, the rules for art seems to be....out of control.

I say this because some of the rules don't really make sense. For example (and this happened to me), when I first joined and shared my first ever fanart for Moonie and Sunny for the Femme Show, my art was deleted because "it had too many watermarks" and counted as "self promotion", which was against the rules. So I erased the watermarks and resubmitted. All good. My mistake honestly at that time. But then I saw that others were able to submit their submissions with their watermarks for YT and other platforms. So why was mine deleted then?

But I got over it. But then, Femme had announced a fashion show art event, one I was extremely excited for and wanted to join. So, I spent a full day (maybe day and a half) researching, creating and making a drawing of the sisters for my submitted it once I deemed it had no errors and was to my liking. So far, perfect. It was accepted without any problems. Until I woke up the next day and saw a message from the Helpi bot. My submission had been deleted.

One of the mods tagged me and a few other artists, saying our submissions had been deleted because A NEW RULE had been added last minute regarding Clipsy's design and we had to redo our submissions. These are the screenshots I took, along with the last minute change:

The mod and the person in charge of the events never specified WHY Clipsy's design (at that time) was no longer allowed to be used in the events and we were now being told HOURS later of our submissions that we had to redo them. Like, excuse me?? Redo HOURS of work?! "Needs to be more unique?" You know how offensive and dismissive that is? (And it bothers me because I once saw the person in charge of the events complain that people didn't "take their time" with their submissions during another event, where users could submit art as posters for the new Sun and Moon dimension, because we were given two weeks. And I get it. It's a lot of time. Yet one of the mods who is an artist as well, submitted theirs a day or so later after that no problem).

Again, NO explanation WHY her model was suddenly no longer allowed to be used and we were given absolutely NO warning that our submissions would be deleted. Again, last minute rule they added in. (Some people in the fandom have stated the reason Clipsy's design was changed was because the OG person who made this design was problematic. But I've never seen anyone confirm that). But if that was true, why not just say "due to personal issues, Clipsy's design is no longer canon. Plz recreate her in your vision". It sounds MUCH BETTER.

Not only that, but tracing and stealing art is 100% against the rules. Yet people are constantly getting away with it and most of the mods aren't being as serious about it as art submissions. Someone in one of the Sun and Moon animation reaction videos was able to steal another artist's video and submitted as their own, which Davis and Reed reacted to and gave them credit by accident. Where's the protection there??

Not only that, but no other artists well known in the fandom are being copied off of and now are being accused as thieves, while the thieves themselves are receiving all the credit.

Artists TsukinsBun is the latest victim and it's horrible. And they're already going through a lot and it's not fair. (Plz support them. Give them some love).

So, I just came to say that the discord is ridiculous and THIS is why I became 1000% disappointed and discouraged to ever join another event or anything in the discord. Because artists are not being respected or helped and people in this fandom do toxic. And it is not fair. And I'm not blaming EVERY WORKER OR THE VAS in the discord, but some of these mods aren't really helping either when they're being dismissive of this stuff.

I once called out the deletion of my spoast submissions (jokingly) and the person in charge of the events said I didn't need to have that kind of attitude. I apologized, but also explained that it was rather unfair and kinda exhausting having your work deleted without warnings. (And it's not even about joining the event, I just wanna share art man). I never got a response back.

But, that's all for me today. Fellas. Just focus on your work, your passions. Don't try and join events for validation or whatever. The right audience will find you and you are all beautiful people. Peace ✌️

cain's unsanctioned statements in recent years have been uncontroversial and well-received. avellone has played in the same waters a bit (ip-unsanctioned word of god, antagonizing fans, controversial/unflattering remarks) but he's never been nearly as prolific or unpredictable as kirkbride was.

and i think everyone else in that sphere who could conceivably Pull A Kirkbride is either uninterested in being a fandom influencer (for lack of better term) or under NDA

he's also the only figure in the history of either IP to simply publish works to the internet while not working for the company & ask fans to treat it as part of the setting.

his influence is the reason TES fans use the word "canon" infinitely less than FO fans. he devised Dragon Breaks to fundamentally undermine the concept of a canon. every tribunal hoe loves this image, and officially speaking, it's just something a guy posted to the internet

at the risk of sounding particularly sympathetic to him, i would go as far as to say the main reason elder scrolls lore is special is because it is inseparable from the unchecked creative output of this one truly weird guy.

he immersed himself in his art, and he seemed to take intrinsic joy in the creative process of building a world that was utterly unlike anything being offered to audiences at the time

i can say that i am also deeply in love with a setting owned by Zenibethsoft, and i also could not be less interested in the superficial elements designed to sell the setting to broad audiences. there is something relatable and sweet about his sheer passion for the fiction in spite of how it all turned out

Adding onto this since its gaining some popularity and I've been talking about DL! Scott/the widows alliance a lot and just wanna make it clear just so people know.

I DO NOT hate DL! Pearl or think she is fully to blame for anything that happened during double life!! I actually LOVE double life Pearl and Double life is actually the series I started watching Pearl at!!

However there's so many wonderful posts out there talking about DL! Pearl and her relationship to DL! Scott that I feel I would just be repeating what they have already said, meanwhile I feel like Scott is often overshadowed when it comes to their dynamic.

Along side that, even with how tragic she is, she is also NOT a perfect angel in this story. They're two different people who have imperfections but people always seem to highlight Scotts the most out of the two.

Yes Pearl had every right to be upset by her soulmate,and friends leaving her, she is valid for those feelings. EQUALLY as much as Scotts valid for not wanting anything to do with Pearl and simply wanting to live with his chosen soulmate instead.

I've just been wanting to highlight some common mischaracterizations when it comes to DL! Scott and how the fandom views his personality in double life in general because believe it or not I don't believe a lot of people have actually SEEN his POV of double life.

(Which btw you don't have to watch it it's just the main reason I make these post, to show people hey the stories actually really different when you switch POVs!!)

I just find it's very easily to simply villainize someone if you don't have the full picture because you don't watch a certain pov. Plus in the end these are silly little analysis to get people thinking and talking to one another lol, I LOVE seeing others takes and opinions on my silly guys.

Btw I love you people pointing out the queer symbolism of Double life I give you a hug and/or a smooch on the head.

Something I find so interesting after rewatching double life is how the fandom portrays DL! Scott.

I often find him being portrayed as this cold, rude and uncaring person who just decided to leave pearl on a whim and hates her for the entire series until his death. He's only around Cleo and antagonizing Pearl the whole series.

Which after a rewatch... Wasn't exactly the case.

Scotts first episode is surprising just calmer, spending most of the first couple minutes desperately searching for his soulmate only to no avail spending the whole time watching other soulmates get paired and helping out others only to end up pretty much soulmatless by the end.

He's tired and frustrated but then Cleo brings up the idea "you know what let's be each others soulmates" and Scott agrees not because he hates Pearl but because he quite literally had no one else to go to. Plus when he does end up meeting Pearl he's frustrated by the fact she doesn't realize what she did was wrong and left with Cleo. In fact he doesn't actually start disliking Pearl until she starts messing with him becoming this clingy annoying ex, having to push her away to even get her to just leave his home.

If anything Pearl ended up antagonizing Scott more, Scott only told people he was soulmates with Cleo now and the fact Pearls going a bit crazy (which she is let's all be honest she was loosing it a bit) and people were very against the idea of a "chosen soulmate." the kinda mentality of "oh but if you just teamed with Pearl she wouldn't be going crazy like this."

But besides the crazy ex drama Scott is still not Cold and calculating as a lot of people make him out to be. He does his little pranks and spends most of his time building not thinking much about it, trying to make the best out of his situation with Cleo.

I say this with full sincerity,

but I genuinely think JM, JK, and Jikook antis are worried they might be wrong. And not in a, “These best friends are actually best friends.” way. I think a chunk of them have gotten real scared that Jikook are an actual couple, because the the tweets I’ve been seeing aren’t run of the mill anti rhetoric.

Number one is from a supposed Jungkook fan, who is mad he’s with Jimin instead of working on solo content. Two is from someone who is mad at someone else for reposting the same exact videos everyone else is of Jikook at Jin’s show, and are claiming they excluded Yoongi on purpose to push the Jikook agenda. The third is about how AYS is blatant fan service that JM and JK are being paid to do, because otherwise it would include all the members.

This one is one of many, where Tkkrs, JM antis, and JK solos are dogpiling a Jungkook focused account who allegedly retweeted a JK anti, was in a JK anti chat, and follows Jikookers. I don’t know if any of it is true. Some are saying no, and the account user said the chats were faked. I’m not able to discern what is or isn’t fake, so my main focus on bringing them up is how people are responding.

Tkkrs and antis are slamming them possibly rightfully so, but not because they’re a supposed secret JK anti. The overwhelming amount of “Report this person!” “Block this account!” tweets include a reason… which is, “I knew you were a secret Joker!” “They focused on Jikook too much, what did y’all expect?” “They post pigman, of course they’re a shipper.”

Their replies and quotes are filled with hate about Jikook and Jimin. Here’s one in particular that stood out to me, because talk about hypocrisy.

This person is pissed that the user is apparently a JK anti, but them being a supposed shipper and fan of Jimin is tweeted before their complaints about supposedly not promoting Jungkook’s music!

And these handful of tweets aren’t even the majority of what I’ve read just now. I didn’t screenshot more, because a lot of them came with much longer threads and such, but holy hell. This last month essentially, has turned a tide, which I don’t say lightly.

I’ve been army for a little while now and a Jikooker almost as long, and even at the peak of me being slammed with insults and message upon message of why TK is the real ship, I can’t recall a time when I saw it this bad. People have always viewed them as fan service and believed their friendship is fake, but not to the point of being enraged.

Not to the point of no one, not even JK focused accounts being unable to mention Jimin in a positive way. And trust me, I know people have hated him specifically for a long time. This time though, it seems like mentioning JM and JK in the same post in any way is getting people harassed.

And no one is saying anything about it! The entire Jikook tag on Twitter is filled with antis and JK solos demanding people stop talking about and posting Jikook or that the account in question above should be blocked and reported. That anyone who posts about Jimin and JK should formally announce themselves as a Jikooker. That anyone with any variation of JK and JM’s names on their account must claim being a Jikooker. That following both JM and JK accounts or Jikook biased accounts makes you a Jikooker.

It’s honestly batshit crazy, and it’s made all the more obvious that only Jikook interacting is a problem, because one of the accounts leading the charge against the above JK centered account is a JK centered report account, who is also a self-proclaimed TK shipper. Yet people are agreeing with them that the alleged JK anti is just a shipper in disguise.

It does not make a single bit of sense how fast this fandom moves to banish anyone “accused” of being a Jikook shipper, even if the accuser is a shipper too. It also makes no sense that no one cares about the fact that Jikook biased fans are being constantly harassed lately. Yes, it happens in waves usually, but this is a big wave because Jimin and Jungkook have been hanging out a lot more this month. And we know everybody online, because everybody watching Jin’s shows.

So I know people see Jimin and Jungkook’s bond being belittled and disrespected. I know people see accounts being reported for posting Jikook, but not Yoonmin or any other paring. I can see people retweeting posts about JK having two boyfriends in Jimin and Yoongi, and about Yoonminkook arriving together, but ignoring posts about Jimin being JK’s boyfriend or them leaving as a duo.

The pushback on Jikook interacting, as of today, has gotten so bad. They are genuinely fandom enemy number one, and the only reason that makes sense to me is: their antis are the loudest/largest. Ot7 accounts ignore their interactions, yet also don’t defend them against hate. Army (at least on social media where being anonymous is possible) does not like them, and the uptick in rage is because Jimin and Jungkook are happy together. They’ve not given anyone a reason to dislike them as a duo, and have actually gone about the last three years of their lives reinforcing their bond.

They traveled together before enlistment. They chose to enlist together, and be subjected to 18 months of hip-to-hip work. They were discharged and immediately chose to travel together again. And with their travels presumably over, they are still being seen together.

For those who hate seeing them as a them, this is a worst case scenario, and now they’re all lashing out an any and everyone who tweets about JM and JK. No matter what. It’s unbelievable.

So, I'm breaking my silence.

Hello friends from the BL side of Tumblr!

To my followers and mutuals, this blog has actually been on hiatus for a few weeks now. Aside from the occasional reblog, I haven't been posting as frequently as I used to.

I didn't mean to go on hiatus, but the primary reason I went on a much-needed break is because for the past couple of weeks, my asks and inbox have been plagued by some members of a particular solo fandom hell-bent on accusing me of spreading hate towards their artist in favor of another. These star-adjacent sasaengs apparently saw one of my "Hot Takes" here shared on X, and got it in their heads that I was hating on their "blonde baby" and siding with the "grandpa" (words THEY USED in the ACTUAL message! It would be so funny if it wasn't so convoluted).

Now, I don't know how a 24 year-old fully grown-adult became so helpless and infantilized in their eyes that they started calling him "my baby", and how a 34 year-old in the peak of his physique and career got labelled as a grandpa, but hey, what makes sense to these people right? I also don't understand how my Hot Takes, which stated verbatim that it's their agencies at fault, and labelled BOTH artists of the ship as victims (with me outlining how bad the backlash will get for each of them), could be seen as me "hating" on either actor. Just because I said that one artist, who is TEN YEARS YOUNGER than his former ship partner, doesn't have an actual criminal record, and has not been blacklisted on Thai media yet, will... recover his career? That I'm forecasting that he will... be okay in the long run? What do y'all want me to say, that your bias is SUFFERING MORE than his partner? That he needs our pity and protection?

Well yeah, he probably is suffering. But you lot isn't helping him any, with the way you're pitting them against each other. It seems you all have gone meta yourselves, too.

Anyway, I'm not new to the hate and drama that comes with delulu solo stans--this really isn't my first fandom rodeo, and with me working in media the way I do, I know hate is par for the course. But what really upset me most was that they came after me here on Tumblr-- the one social community I've been trying to keep as positive and as fun for myself and for my peers.

I love the discussions being done here, as they range from the random to the unhinged to the very introspective.

I love that I get to learn so much from other people who are self-professed (and actually professed) experts of this genre that's so new, unique, and highly unpredictable. I love that, even if I'm not a member of a fandom or actively voice my misconceptions about certain artists, some people take the time to correct my information and respectfully engage in communication. I love that I can say my honest opinions on here and be met with open and healthy discussion instead of hostility.

To have this safe little haven be taken away, just because some fans wanted to live out an RPF fantasy is unimaginably heartbreaking to say the least.

But what really took a toll on me was the doxxing. I posted here that I finished my PhD a few weeks ago, and attached a carefully cropped photo of my Master's thesis and Dissertation side by side. I wanted to keep my anonimity here on Tumblr (the same way these haters couldn't even turn off anon just to flood my inbox), so I removed my identity and the name of the universities I went to, but I also wanted to share this huge career milestone that I was genuinely proud of, so I posted that photo thinking I would be safe. One of the little shits reverse-searched the image and found my personal X and Facebook accounts, and started spamming me on there, INCLUDING COMMENTING ON MY PROFESSIONAL POSTS. My fault for keeping my security features lax I guess, but seriously, just because I said your fave should leave his company? You want to destroy me for documenting the very public downfall of a three week-old fandom?

Anyway, after I cleared all that mess up, reported who needed to be reported and almost filed lawsuits of my own (but just reverted to tightening my security and taking advantage of socmed's block features), I spent a few weeks unplugged to take time for myself. Spend time with friends and family, eat some good food, get some sleep. Watch my shows without the audience, enjoy media again the way it's supposed to be consumed.

And I'm back because as the dust settled, I realized I shouldn't let others' negative behaviors impact the way I engage with the media that gives me both joy and emotion in equal measure. I can't let them take that away from me and from others who also view these small communities as a safe space. At the end of the day, we're supposed to consume media not through merch and trends, but through discussions and shared experience.

And if keeping my blog the way it is--introspective and HONEST-- is the best way to combat toxic fandom culture, then so be it.

I refuse to refute my Hot Takes or opinions. These are mine and you're free to make yours, but you don't get to come after me just because you don't agree with what I say. I'm not even going to mention you all or give you the exposure you so clearly desire, and since you follow me I'm sure you'll see this post either way. Keep your negativity while I keep my positivity on my little corner of the internet.

Anyway, that's my piece posted and settled. It's also my official return to Tumblr blogging (but maybe in small increments, this whole thing really took a toll on me). I'm accepting asks once again and will work through the proper ones already sent my way. All my love and thanks to wonderful friends @silverquillsideas, Kat and Dori over at @dramalove247, Key of @thebroccolination, and the people over at the KristSingto and BossNoeul discord servers for being such bringers of joy, even though I wasn't exactly opening up about what I was going through. What makes me sad is the fact that misinformation still holds such a huge weight in every fandom specifically the red dead redemption two fandom. Like people talk about their“2nd love interest“ being Charles, but that rockstar scrapped the idea. I believe that it takes the responsibility away from rockstar as a company, not wanting to risk losing money on having a gay character and instead placing the blame onto the developers or fandom while it was proven to be false, and that the “claim“ from rockstar was either a troll or someone who just got their misinformation while I’m not sure now which was true the whole charthur was literally proven to be false and that it was never in the works. No hate to Charles or charthur of course but I cannot stand miss information.there’s one thing to have normal discourse, but to see people get mad at people talking about the actual second love interest, and still believing something that was proven to be false to be true true kinda makes me sad. I truly hope that the person who claimed to be a rockstar affiliate or whatever it was was coming from a good place and not a homophobic troll but sadly, I don’t believe that. It was literally proven that the second love interest was supposed to be Eliza, the mother of Arthur’s child. While that idea was also scrapped pretty early on, it was proven to be confirmed, and we do have voice lines in the game files as to even prove it as well as comment commentary, telling the story of how Arthur was supposed to lose his child early on as to have a different storyline in the game. It also annoys me whenever people get mad when someone says very kindly that hey Eliza wasn’t our first wife it was his baby mom while we don’t know a lot. It doesn’t seem like they necessarily loved each other, but it seemed more like a one time thing, and obviously that they seem to be somewhat able to go on, but that was Mary that Arthur loved more or less. I truly love this fandom. I’ve been a part of it for a long time, and I met my partner through it and it’s sad me whenever people claim false things either us to troll and to please the homophobic alpha guy side of the fandom or to take away accountability for rockstar not daring to go too far (aka having a gay charctger who’s sexuality or implied sexuality not being fully straight not played for jokes only) and risk loosing a sliver of money.

But yeah I do agree, it was proven to be false, but with Eliza I will say something, I watched an interview with Roger a long ass time ago where he was asked who it was meant to be, and Roger said he didn't know, it never got far enough along to become a more solid idea. So I don't think they meant Eliza, or maybe Roger just got confused by the question. I mean they have been though like 6 years of planning, there gotta have been a lot of ideas throwing in and around throughout the time.

I also like the fact you point out Rockstar not wanting to make a gay character too open, which is true. Bill is gay, but it is like implied and at the same time he isn't the most likable character and you can if you want also argue against it. And the only two characters where you can like not at all argue against it, are two you gotta search for it.

Also yes, there was little evidence of Arthur really... loving Eliza, in the demo at least he seemed to not have a too smooth realtionship with her.

Hey ,just read your piece about casual misogyny in the cod fandom and I am so happy that I am finding people talking about this especially the subtle misogyny that most dont even notice or ignore .I also didnt notice some of it when I was new in this fandom ,because it wasnt that obvious and I thought it may only be some fics .But recently, it amplified to very rampant misogyny ,probably because it isnt called it out often and just buried . I feel like we can /are being influenced just reading it and imagine young impressionable fans .

The saddest part to me is that women are perpetuating this and If one is called out ,they will hit them with "fiction excuse" .

Dont get me started on the subtle pe*dophilia/ grooming fetishization ,with the older bf bs / reader being childish to a weird extent .It is not even subtle anymore ,I think I saw a fic with reader being tagged as barely legal .Does this seem like normal behavior?

It reminds me of what you said in your post ,a lot are writing for the male gaze and I am starting to understand why many fans left the fandom .

my baby, you have no idea how happy it made me to receive this ask. i woke up this morning and saw the notification, and i was immediately overwhelmed with a deep sense of hope. the fact that there are other people noticing these things and being able to recognize them is such good news to me.

i truly, honestly wish people talked more about this. i know that @femmemichaelis has a couple commentary pieces on this that are just so beautifully put. even so, it’s absolutely heartbreaking that most of the people who claim to be for women’s rights and feminism are the ones writing these things.

this is what i’ve been saying for so long, and i’m so glad you said this. the ‘meanie!simon’ tag is the bane of my fucking existence. regardless of what people think, fiction does affect reality. normalizing this behavior and hate in fiction and media only serves as a stepping stone to keep it afloat in society.

writers in this fandom will say they’re sick and tired of how women have been treated by men in today’s world, then turn around and write their favorite male characters doing the exact same thing they condemn when it’s convenient—what example of what women enjoy do you think thats setting for the men you claim to want to see you as more than an unfeeling sex machine?

personally, i believe that people should never be censored nor do i feel like writing things as coping mechanisms should be seen as inherently wrong. i myself occasionally write darker subject matter—with an emphasis on the fact that it is dark and shouldn’t be glorified—and i can understand a small number of writers in the fandom who do the same.

however, i also believe that some of the things being written in this fandom toe the line with startling precariousness, and i also believe that there is a big difference between coping and romanticizing.

unfortunately, we see so much of the latter in the way the characters are happily tagged as sexist and toxic, in the way the authors will giggle flippantly about these very real problems because they’re being viewed through a fictional lens, in the way nobody else seems willing to say a thing about it—whether that’s out of fear of disrupting the status quo or out of agreement, i’m not sure. and i honestly can’t tell which is worse.

absolutely not, and you should say it. i feel like this fandom has taken the ‘controversially younger gf’ joke a little too seriously, but i’ll get jumped if i say that too loudly. there’s a difference between an age gap (which i love and am guilty of indulging in when it’s written well) and borderline pedophilia. it’s truly sickening and i wish more people noticed it.

so many of these fics are for the male gaze. so why is it that it’s primarily women who read and enjoy them? in the current state of the world, what does that say about where feminism is headed?

i’m tired of being nice about it. writers in this fandom are extremely fucking guilty of performative activism. it’s part of why i’m ashamed to identify with it in the first place. and it’s people like you, dear non, that give me at least a little more hope for this desolate ass wasteland of patriarchy’s iron grip that we’ve become.

normal fandom behaviour is assigning characters houses from the series that shall not be named. or maybe godly parents from percy jackson. unfortunately im not normal so instead im assigning the dark age characters a magnus archives fear entity.

also this is my opinion and maybe this is too niche but if it’s not and there’s anyone else with opinions on this then this is me humbly asking for input on some characters (mostly ythae’el kosima, talis, and sal) who i can’t figure out.

theagus (the inspiration behind this whole post) - i have never seen anyone/anything more Eye coded than theagus. like any other character i would accept arguments but theagus?? yeah no. everything he does is in the pursuit of knowledge and he has made so many stupid decisions for more information. also his whole relationship with iridia. the most important part of his character is wanting knowledge. and he is the literal HERALD OF KNOWLEDGE. so yes he is Eye and that is the objective truth (would be interested to hear any other ideas. i just wouldn’t agree)

iridia - similar to theagus in that she is also very extremely Eye coded. like the conversation her and theagus had about joining sentinel?? yeah. she is also super dedicated to gaining more knowledge. also ilithids in general are very Eye coded. and shes an archivist which is already an Eye coded job, even without taking into account tma Archivists

decima - Web. like lets be so fr. her whole everything was so Web coded and thats most of why i love her

hareem - Spiral. hes a fucking liar and (from what we know so far) his entire goal seems to just be entertainment for himself. that is the Spiral

keno - definitely the Dark. like i’d love to just say the End because of his tarot card being death. however keno is definitely a lot more Dark, inspired partly by his character but mostly just because of the bards after dark stream where drew talks about how he came up with keno’s first and last name.

xilyreon - the End. i feel like this is probably the obvious answer because… yeah. come on now. but also because the witchbreed versions of people and the horror of seeing a dead loved one in something you’re fighting is so End coded.

aelys - now here is where i start being willing to take criticism on my decisions. i do feel like in a world where the Fears existed, her main connection to the Fears would be through x so i’m just going to say she’s an End avatar for that reason. but i can be convinced otherwise for earlier chapters aelys.

katari (pre-death) - i’m not totally sure about katari in the early days but after she starts taking levels in barbarian? yeah that is a Slaughter avatar. barbarians to me are the Slaughter bc of the whole thing of unpredictable violence. but i could also be persuaded into thinking they’re an avatar of something else but just with a hint of Slaughter. like katari meaning death and also being called endcrafter does make me think that they did have SOME End vibes pre-dying but idk if i’d call them an End avatar yk?

katari (post-death) - the End. for many reasons including the fact they came back to life, being called endbringer, and the connection to the xilyreon (again, very End)

synnove - tentatively the Web?? like she deffo does manipulate people a lot and does intentionally get people to underestimate her. but also i’m not totally set on this because i’m not sure whether the Web would be her main entity or whether there’s anything else which could fit her better.

jb - for the record i don’t see jb as ever getting involved with the Fears. but again the barbarian thing is very Slaughter coded. and before anyone says i should have put Vast for jb (which im very sad not to bc the Vast <333) i disagree because yes a lot of his stuff manifests through wind and lightning and whatever but his rages and focus are still Slaughter at their core. so i’d still call him a Slaughter avatar, just that maybe he was marked by the Vast at some point.

lenore - marked by the Lonely. avatar of whatever the fuck vaekstaar is (what is he god of btw?? like i havent finished genesis yet so maybe that gets answered but i tried consulting the wiki for this and couldn’t get a solid answer. possibly the Dark bc of the whole Dark Between Stars thing?? unless it’s the Vast bc like. night?? HELP)

valor - avatar of whatever the fuck vaekstarr is but More avatar-y. like previously a casual avatar and now serious avatar. and i KNOW hollows give very End vibes but i’d say this is more of a jonathan sims post-coma situation when the Eye brought him back and he got more monstery.

It really hurts my heart how slept on the girl characters are in Date Everything 😞

Scrolling through the Date Everything tag and it surprised me how long it took until I came across a girl character.

I'm not saying that people should make content of characters they're not interested in, it's just a little disappointing as there's so many characters in DE that I would assume that at least a few girl characters would become extremely popular?

But it seems like really only Betty or maybe Skylar has become popular, which sucks because it seems like there's a variety of guy characters who are popular!

Vot and Eddie, Hector and Johhny probably being the most popular.

But I've seen a lot of love for Chance, Parker, the Hanks, Jean Loo, and a bunch of other guy characters.

Idk, maybe it's just my Tumblr, but for anyone else doesn't it take a bit before a girl character shows up while scrolling the Dare Everything tag (especially if that character isn't Betty or Skylar?)

Where's my love for Beau, for Beverly, for Dolly, for Holly, for Keyes, for Miranda, Penelope, for Prissy, for Shelly, for Tina, for Tydus, for Wyndolyn, for Zoey!!

It's not like there's a shortage of girl characters (I think I counted around 41?) So I'm not sure why the girl characters don't seem to get as much love.

Does the Fandom just have more people who are attracted to guys? And that's why guy characters are more popular?

genuinely believe that the only correct way to approach the whole marecal vs mareven deal is to adore all three of them with your whole heart. and see them as a trio rather than a love triangle. like sorry but if you don't lowkey fw all of them and like each of them as a character on their own AND accept the many layers of the relationship they have with one another you're not getting things right :/

"It's normal for siblings to fight" Okay well it's not normal to be extremely classist and look down on your sister for being non-conforming. Or to go to the woman who ordered the death of your pet to tell her about your father's plans, when he specifically warned you against doing so, because you want to marry the boy you saw attack your sister and her friend (contributing partially to said father's death and your sister being unable to escape on the ship he chartered). Or to think of your sibling as unsatisfactory in comparison to another when you believe her to be dead. I notice that none of the "Sansa and Arya are going to reunite and instantly have no issues" crowd ever acknowledge any of this, which makes it seem like they don't actually believe what they say about their relationship being normal and easily reconciled. People wanting them to have no issues simply because they're siblings is another example of how fandom likes to flatten complex characters and relationships. They get reduced to being bickering siblings when their conflict runs deeper than that. If the author is telling you that they have "deep issues" to work out [X], I don't understand being so adamant about ignoring said issues. I also get the sense it's about ignoring the capacity for a certain character to be flawed, but that isn't going to change the fact that her "slip of the tongue" is very likely to be revealed and a source of further conflict 🤷🏾‍♀️
