🏳️‍🌈Marriage Equality Act & Updates🏳️‍🌈

What we now know as the Marriage Equality Act did not begin as such. Efforts towards passing same-sex marriage in Thailand began with an attempt of legal recognition of civil partnerships in 2012-2014 when the Thai government held its first hearings on a potential civil partnership bill. Despite the support towards legalizing same sex marriage, the Civil Partnership Act, at the time, did not grant same-sex couples the same rights as their counterparts (i.e.: same-sex couples were not entitled to raise children, and the minimum age for those wishing to register a same-sex partnership would be 20 whereas heterosexual couples could register at 17.) In other words, there was an attempt at legal recognition of same-sex couples, but the bill still had the veil of discrimination and other flaws. Other factors, such as political unrest, also stalled the bill. (Prachatai)

Other significant attempts were made as well, especially with mass public support. Petitions that called for the legalization of same-sex marriage led to efforts in 2018, when the Justice Minister of Thailand began drafting a Civil Partnership Bill (Bangkok Post). Despite the support in public hearings and approval from the government, it did not pass in time. However, it’s still important to note that while there was support and tremendous push to pass the Civil Partnership Bill, many felt that recognizing same-sex couples as “legal, civil partnerships” “falls short of marriage” and therefore, could not truly be equal to heterosexual marriages (Bangkok Post).

This brings us to the Move Forward Party, which introduced the Marriage Equality Act in June 2020. This bill is significantly different from the previously mentioned bills, as it sought to amend the Civil and Commercial Code to include gender neutral language (ThaiPBSWorld). Doing so would allow any Thai citizen of any gender to seek marriage. After rewriting, redrafting, governments dissolving, and more scrutiny over a persistent exclusion of certain rights, the Thai government approved several drafts of same-sex marriage law, all of which passed with overwhelming support. The House of Representatives then approved a unified draft in March 2024, and then passed the Senate in April (Associated Press/Time). Finally, after receiving the royal endorsement from the Thai King on September 24th, 2024 and publishing the Royal Gazette, the Marriage Equality Act is slated to take effect on January 22nd, 2025. There’s a tiny delay. A discrepancy in the 120 day period has caused the initial January 22nd date to be pushed back to January 23rd. (Bangkok Pride)

The Marriage Equality Act is also missing an important signature. As reported by Bangkok Pride: “Currently, the process awaits the signature of Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, to formally activate the law. However, as of now, Mr. Anutin has not signed the order, which may lead to continued confusion among government agencies hesitant to act without a clear and official enforcement date” (Bangkok Pride). His delay in signing the law is causing some confusion, especially for the public and those who must prepare themselves to provide registration services. 

Beyond legal frameworks, there are other challenges that the Love Foundation anticipates, such as addressing misunderstandings, lack of local government readiness as an influx of legal changes and commitments take place, and opposition from those who dissent. Still, even with the delay, Bangkok Pride and several other LBGTQIA+ organizations move forward with plans to celebrate. Mass wedding ceremonies are anticipated to take place across Thailand on the 23rd. Commitments in all forms are slated to continue. Meet Emery Jane Duggar

On 18th May 2025, Jeremiah and Hannah Duggar announced the birth of their third child, Emery Jane "Emy" Duggar. Emy joins two older sisters: Brynley (2) and Brielle (1).

Pregnancy Announcement This pregnancy was announced on 24th December 2024. We don't have an exact due date for this birth but Hannah was around 137 days pregnant at the time of the announcement. This was their earliest announcement to date, even though a ~19 week announcement is still very late in comparison to the rest of the Duggars. They announced the gender at the same time.

Effect on the Data I think now is a good time to point out that Jeremiah and Hannah only celebrated their third anniversary in March. They are having babies at quite the accelerated pace. Emery was born just 449 days after big sister, Brielle (and Brielle was born only 434 days after Brynley)! This birth contributed to the 25-30 maternal multiplier and Jeremiah and Hannah's future predicted pace. I am now also keeping track of all the third babies born to see about doing some kind of multiplier there like I do with the second babies, so this may end up contributing to that.

What's Next? A lot of babies, in all likelihood. The couple are predicted to announce Baby 4 in August 2026 for a birth in December 2026. That's with the spreadsheet expecting the couple to slow down though. If they don't, expect another announcement in April 2026 for a birth in August 2026. Scary.

Mega Man franchise (near) complete anniversary calendar

Since I couldn't find this anywhere else online (Seriously! Why doesn't this exist!), here's a mostly complete collection of the release dates of every single megaman franchise game and some extras. I've tried to keep it to one line per game where feasible but this has led to some abbreviations such as "PS1" instead of "Playstation".

This calendar will always count the earliest release region and platform and for dual release games I've not included the subtitles as some of the listings would get very long.

Mega Man Battle network legacy collections 1&2 both released for PS4 but since they are digital only, this effectively acts as being released for both PS4 AND 5 so I listed 5 as I feel it's the more relevant choice.

If I've missed any games please comment to let me know :D (or if I've made any mistakes! I've already fixed some things based on feedback!), I was going to include all the manga series too as those particularly interested me but it was too difficult to track them all down with dates so I haven't bothered but I can always come back in future to edit this, if anyone knows about them: please send me a DM!. I may also add the Mega Man complete works artbooks at some point too, but I can't be bothered researching that rn. If you REALLY want them on the timeline, comment or DM.

*I speculate this one was released around October 21st 1994 due to the fact that it came very near the release of Mega Man The Wily Wars. As both games acted as a sort of campaign to introduce sega players to Mega Man it's likely they were intended to release around the same time, however the wily wars never saw a physical American release. If anyone has a source for the game gear games original release date please do let me know.

April 2025 Important Dates

AKA my notes on The Astrology Podcast's April forecast. This month's forecast notes are a little late, due in no small part to the eclipse at the end of March--Chris and Austin wanted to record as far away from the eclipse as they could for electional & mundane reasons, and I in turn was too busy to sit down and take notes on the 31st itself or the following week! As such I'll be skipping the March recap for this month (interested parties can watch the video linked above).

We entered the month fresh off the Aries eclipse, with its effects lasting into around the 5th of the month. The energy of major endings and beginnings in our lives is strongly in effect. Neptune has also just entered Aries after about 14 years in Pisces. Here's a visualization of "eclipse season" below:

April 4th - Saturn sextile Uranus Experimental Uranus and careful Saturn rarely work together well, but a sextile might be the perfect aspect to help us balance new endeavors with what's tried and true. Mercury and Venus's stations next week in late Pisces will reactivate this sextile as well.

April 7th - Retrograde Venus opposes Saturn, Mercury stations direct Mercury and Venus have started stationing direct and have just barely begun to be visible after sunrise (after they were being obscured by the eclipse!). Venus will emerge from the underworld to a place of power in her sign of exaltation, while Mercury isn't in as good shape--Pisces is their fall and exile, so if communications clear it's still a lot of work. Austin says Mercury "returns from the underworld confused and hungover to a bunch of weird emails."

April 12th - Full Moon in Libra, Venus stations direct The first lunation after eclipses will really start to bring things back to normal, especially with Venus going direct into a place of power in her exaltation. With Venus ruling the Moon, things should be set up for going forward and healing, but Mars in Cancer is still throwing a tantrum in the background, firing some warning shots before he enters Leo. Here's the chart:

April 18th - Mars enters Leo Mars was last here back in the fall before retrograding into Cancer and bringing a cranky, childish, conservative mess to us the last few months. Mars in Leo brings us show masculinity and bravado, as well as bravery and showmanship. It can be admirable or obnoxious, depending on what you've got to show...Mars just gives you the energy! Mars stationed at 06 Leo before beginning this retrograde, so we'll be revisiting events as he retraces his steps through his post-retrograde shadow (which ends on May 1st). Cancer placements will be happy to know we're finally getting to the end of this Mars retrograde cycle:

April 19th - Sun enters Taurus This launches us into an upcoming T-square with the Sun (♉), Mars (♌), and Pluto (♒), further lighting up and complicating the Mars-Pluto energy elaborated below (April 26th).

April 24th - Venus conjunct Saturn

April 26th - Mars opposite Pluto Mars opposed Pluto right before the US election, the second pass around the new US Congress sworn in and the terrorist attacks in Las Vegas & New Orleans (as well as the possible source of the LA fires) on New Year's Eve/Day, and this upcoming transit is the third of the series. Mars's violence is amplified out of proportion by Pluto, giving us senseless violence and annihilation. We'll already start feeling this when Mars enters Pluto on the 18th...

Mars-Pluto makes us very aware of and irritated by power dynamics, both overt and subtle, real and imagined.

April 27th - New Moon in Taurus

The Moon getting involved further intensifies the Mars-Sun-Pluto T-square discussed above, though within a few days this starts to separate and the intensity fades.

April 30th - Venus enters Aries Venus is finally passing the last of her post-retrograde shadows, with Mercury completely clear and Mars well on his way out. April is the time to wrap up all of this unfinished business. Venus and Mars retrogrades give us big resets for the next year and change ahead.

GAY ROBITSSS. tell us the Bass information

HIIIIIHIHIHIHI did you ever notice that even though purple is barely in bass' design at all hes associated with the color? this is most likely because hes always seen with treble! that, plus a lot of purple effects and auras are used in his sprites, as well as super/treble boost bass being purple. curiously, no one seems to associate bass with the color yellow, which is actually featured quite heavily in his design. and lastly on this color scheme conversation, bass' color scheme can be rather inconsistent. while most of the time the blue gems on his armor are, well, blue, they will occasionally be made more purple, as well as his usually red eyes sometimes being depicted as pink. the specific shades of black and yellow used in his design also change, but never the purple in his facial markings. that always seems to be the same. his skin tone has also changed occasionally, going from the same as rock's to slightly more tan. a good example of this "alternate color scheme" for bass is his illustrations from mega man & bass (which are my personal favorites. if i ever need to use an image of bass chances are i am grabbing one of those. what can i say, i love bass with pink eyes.)

during the release of mega man: battle & chase, certain infocards about characters were released! while these are generally not considered canon, bass' card had his birthday listed as april 10th. which is a pun! because april 10th is written in japan as 4/10 - four-ten. which sounds like forte. very silly i think. generally, bass' birthday is more accepted as march 24th, which is the release date of mega man 7 (bass' debut game.)

bass' moveset in rockman & forte influenced bass.exe's abilities in mega man battle network! which is very fun for me :) due to battle network being an inherently different game from the classic series, it's not the most obvious, but bass.exe's signature ability (other than copyability, of course) is rapid fire, which was added to bass' moveset in rockman & forte to differentiate his playstyle from mega man's.

final bass fact of the day: he's slightly taller than rock (you can notice this pretty easily by looking at his mega man 7 sprites), but from mega man 8 onward, he's consistently drawn and animated as being hunched over to be the same height as rock. this is because he was first made playable in mega man 8's versus mode (which sucks. don't worry about it) and thus, had to be the same height as rock so the collision and hitboxes would be the same for both of them. bass' hunched over posture is the most noticeable in his rockman & forte sprites, as they actually have an animation for him settling into this posture from his natural height.

Baby Seewald 6 is on the way!

On Friday 7th March, Jessa Seewald posted a surprising Instagram announcement - not only was she pregnant, but she was 'halfway to holding [the baby] in [her] arms'. So I suppose we've found the missing GrandDuggar 39 from Joy's podcast interview! Jessa and Ben Seewald are already parents to Spurgeon Elliot (9), Henry Wilberforce (8), Ivy Jane (5), Fern Elliana (3) and George Augustine (1).

Early, Late, or On Time? This pregnancy announcement was definitely early. After the birth of George in December 2023, Jessa's predicted pace was 929 days, which would have meant a birth in July 2026. 929 days would have been quite a long spacing for Jessa, who was relatively consistent in most of her pregnancies, but was due to the maternal multiplier also coming into effect. To date, Jessa's shortest spacing has been with Henry, who was born only 459 days after big brother Spurgeon, but this is very much an outlier for the Seewalds. Taking into account prior miscarriages Jessa has had and ignoring the Henry spacing, Jessa's average was 777 days (which would have meant a birth in February 2026). If we do include her data with Henry, her prior average was 697 days (which would have meant a birth in November 2025) so this pregnancy is still early, even then.

Timing of Pregnancy Announcement Jessa's announcements have been getting later over time, though this pregnancy wasn't announced as late as George's was. Her average was to announce on Day 131. Taking Jessa's statement to mean she was literally halfway through the pregnancy on 7th March, and therefore announced on Day 140, her average announcement time stays the same at Day 131 (18 weeks, 5 days).

Due Date If 7th March was the absolute midpoint of the pregnancy, Jessa would be due 25th July 2025. On average, she gives birth one day early. That gives a predicted date of birth of 24th July 2025 for Baby 6. A birthday on 24th July would mean a spacing of 583 days between George and the new baby.

Impact on the Data This pregnancy drastically speeds up Jessa's pace. She's now predicted to have a total of 10 children, up one from her previous prediction. This pregnancy also affects the maternal multiplier, though the effect was fairly small. It is a quicker pregnancy in the 30-35 age bracket though, with the average pace in this age bracket now standing at 709 days, and therefore reduces the predicted pace for other women in this bracket.

Jessa's new predicted pace for Baby 7 is 783 days. They are not expected to announce the gender or the name of this baby or any upcoming ones, based on precedent from previous pregnancies. With all prior babies, they have done this after birth.

Baby Seven? With a pace of 783 days, Jessa is predicted to announce her next pregnancy in April 2027 for a birth in September 2027.

Full Moon occurs at 3 A.M. EDT, bringing March's Worm Moon to the sky. The Moon is now in Virgo, close to the magnitude 2.7 double star Porrima (Gamma Virginis).

This is the last Full Moon before the upcoming April 8 total solar eclipse, which will occur when the Moon is New. And this Full Moon will undergo an eclipse of its own as a penumbral lunar eclipse takes place early this morning, beginning shortly before 1 A.M. EDT (note this is late on the 24th for time zones farther west) and ending around 5:30 A.M. EDT, lasting a total of 4 hours and 39 minutes. Greatest eclipse occurs at 3:14 A.M. EDT.

A penumbral lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes through the penumbra - the dimmer, outermost region of Earth's shadow. The effect is quite subtle, even though most of the Moon will pass through the penumbra, with just a small portion of the northeastern limb clearing the shadow entirely. Only careful observers may notice the Full Moon's light appear to dim slightly, or perhaps change subtly in hue to a more brownish color. For the best chance of observing this effect, look at the Moon early in the eclipse and then again around the time of maximum eclipse to see if you can note a difference. Such events are also great!

Kraftheinz reminds me of turkey bacon rather than listeria risk Kraft Heinz is recalling approximately 367,812 pounds of fully cooked turkey bacon products that could be contaminated with Listeria Monocytogenes, the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), announced on Wednesday, July 2nd. According to an announcement from FSIS, the bacon from the affected turkey was produced from April 24th to June 11th. According to public health agencies, shocking products with USDA inspection marks on the front of the label were shipped to retailers nationwide, with some exported to the UK’s Virgin Islands and Hong Kong. FSI added that people who consumed recalled turkey bacon have no confirmed reports of “side effects.” The agency suggests that anyone concerned about the possibility of illness should contact their healthcare provider. Which Kraft Heinz Turkish Bacon Products Recalled? Here are the recalled Kraft Heinz Turkey bacon products: 12 oz vacuum package from “Oscar Mayer Turkish Bacon Original”, Universal Product Code (UPC) “071871548601”, will be “used” from “August 2, 2025” to “Use” date on the “Use” date from “August 2, 2025” to “Use” date.
