Ben nods as he looks at Captain Hook or James Hook as he laughed with Morgie le Fay and Uliana. "He certainly is. And I heard from the talk in the office that he's rich."

"Well, it certainly explains why Harry's such a flirt. And have you checked out my dad?"

They turned to see a teenage Hades flirting with a teenage Maleficent, while a teenage Chernabog was so jealous that he sprouted wings. "He looks like a gay emo boy." Ben noted.

"He sure does." Y/N agreed.

I had the worst idea. And with that, I mean one of my usual ideas about Descendants that can explain things and make me sad at the same time.

Belle is dead.

No, okay, that's not canon, or it may be in a certain way, just listen to me for a second.

She doesn't make sense, both she and Beast act and reason in ways that have nothing to do with their cartoon (or even live-action) counterparts, that's easy to see.

Now, we can retcon the whole franchise and simply make her disappear, let's say she died when Ben was little (just like Adam's mother in the live-action...) and Beast half-repeated history out of grief (bad temper, seclusion, not listening to anyone...), so he went a little back on his worst habits and let Fairy Godmother and Leah make all sort of important decisions in his place. See, fixed. Disney should hire me lol.

Or, for a more complicated theory: the one we see isn't the real Belle. Because she died and no one really knows save for the one(s) who brought her back from the dead. But it's notorious that people who come back from death don't quite get back right, no? So, Belle is different because she can't be the same.

Even more complicated? Hell yeah. See, in some versions of the tale, Belle is a changeling, a fairy child left in the cradle of the real youngest daughter of the merchant in place of his almost-dead one. (in some other versions she's the daughter of the merchant with a fairy, sometimes the mom is the very fairy who cursed the Beast, but that's not what we're talking about here). So, what if the real Belle is the one we see in Descendants? Think about it: fairy Belle dies but baby Prince Ben needs a mom, the kingdom needs a High Queen, and the Beast will go out of his mind if he loses the love of his life and Auradon isn't stable enough for that, so the fairies simply switch them back again, the human Belle with the changeling. No one sees the difference, or they call it postpartum stress or whatever, but she is different in all those subtle ways.

Ben never finds out.

(Well, until Mal figures it out somehow. Or Hades, very likely for the second one)

DESCENDANTS REWRITE (3/?)

giving some more info about this rewrite because i changed some things, like the origin of the isle of the lost and now theres more of a plausible reason for its existence

like 1st i never liked beauty and beast's characters in the movies and how they saw the vks in the beginging and the creation of the isle of the lost (based on the books) is just cruel even for the heroes

like are you trying to tell me these two whos story is based on second chances and seeing inner beauty and goodness didnt want to give a (first) chance to some kids because of their parents crimes? (thank goodness ben became king and changed that)

dont get me wrong i love descendants but thats something i never liked about it

so i changed it little bit and it all began with hades 💙🔥

so after hercules defeated hades and everything was fine, hades was judged for his crimes and was granted a 'forgiveness', but imprisoned in the underworld for eternity

and so auradon (a full continent with kingdoms and cities) was living a happily ever after, but it wasnt over for hades who wanted revenge, so he acted in secret, finding out about dead beings in the underworld whose crimes resulted in their deaths, among them were maleficent, ursula, and so many other villains

hades decided to recruit them for the villains cause, resurrecting them so they could recruit those villains who were still alive and a war had begun in auradon, with heroes joining forces againt the villains and it was with king adam and queen belle (beauty and beast) leadership they could win that war

they came up with the idea of ​​imprisoning the villains in an island located in another dimension, where they could never escape and so the isle of the lost was created through the magic of witches, mages and fairies and all villains were trapped

for years there was auradon where all the heroes lived and had their children and there was the isle of the lost were all villains lived, hades isolated himself in the underground of his new prision, chenabog hibernated on a montain and maleficent and the evil queen, together, became the rulers of the isle (with jafar joining them years later as their royal vizier)

and everything changed once again when prince benjamin (son of the beauty and the beast and not about to become king he deserves to be a teen) proposed to his parents to give an opportunity to the villain kids and they were actually supportive (a little hesitant but wanted to give a fair chance to these kids)

so yeah thats the whole story 😅 i want to continue this rewrite so bad im loving creating this 💜

Descendant's greek heroes AU

(Okay weird title but let me explain-)

So I am a big epic the musical fan and a big part of Epic the musical is Athena and Ody's relationship where she's seemingly able to lend some of her abilities to him

I was thinking that- but in descendants and in a different way let me ramble-

Okay okay so the gods can give out medallions with their symbol on them, and give them to their chosen person to mentor and lend their abilities to and it glows whenever they're present

Understood all that? Good! Now to show what kids get help from which

Ben: Athena, why? Well maybe I have a dumb hc that Belle is Athena's daughter and Athena is desperate to give her grandson some braincells so he won't be a complete idiot like Adam

Mal: Hades, once he rebuilt his relationship with her he's eager to lend more of his power to her whenever she needs

Carlos: Hephaestus, both have awful mothers and both are very skilled in craftmenship

Evie: Aphrodite, people seem to forget that Aphrodite is the goddess of all aspects of love, platonic and romantic and I can't think of any other VK who shows more love in the movies than Evie

Jay: Hermes, he's clever, quick on his feet and a master thief. Hermes would like him a lot

Uma: Poseidon, for one he's her grandfather, and he's petty. He would never admit it but he partially mentors Uma specifically to annoy Mal and by extension- Hades

Gil: Apollo, he's a master marksman and according to Apollo he's a very handsome because he looks so much like him. He also tries to help Gil sing what with being a patron of music but so far it hasn't worked

Harry: Hecate, in my AU's he's usually the one of his siblings most devoted to magic training

Harriet: Eris, don't mind me and my friend @azzzryel making another character a demigod- (Clarification, Eris is James's mother) Helps Harriet whenever she needs to go fucking feral on anyone

CJ: Artemis, a hc @fandomsareforlife came up with that she like Gil prefers to use a bow and arrow, she's also a young maiden who more often than not have no romantic interest in men

SWALLOW DOWN THE ICHOR.

as hermes, the god of travellers, brings each of the new demigods to camp one by one, he settles them into their cabins. to the demigods, these are simply normal wooden cabins, though they have been upkept immaculately. he doesn't say much to them, he doesn't answer questions, he doesn't linger with his son. he has a job to do—collect and bring, drop off the new packages, start them on their journeys to divinity.

when the last demigod is brought through the portal near big ben, he leads the demigod to their cabin and allows them a few moments respite. then he vanishes.

it isn't for a few more days, while the demigods acclimate to the new surroundings, where the satyrs and nymphs help them navigate the camp, where they meet chiron and achilles, a woman named ianthe, and many more throughout the camp, that he returns. this time, hermes is not alone.

he has brought the gods with him.

a voice booms like thunder through the camp, crackling like lightning through a storm.

"children, you have been called, the song in your heart sings to our ears and we have listened. please, meet us at the steps of the temple. we await your presence."

it's unmistakably zeus, king of the gods, calling them home.

the demigods are gathered and lead to the temple and it's there that they lay eyes on their birth parent for the first time, or so they think. zeus, hera, poseidon, demeter, aphrodite, athena, artemis, apollo, ares, hephaestus, hermes, hestia, hades, dionysus, hecate, and nemesis are lined up along the steps, almost in a perfect v formation, with zeus at the lead. he smiles, as charming as ever, and locks eyes with each demigod present. his eyes linger on adam for the longest before he addresses the group as a whole.

"it has been centuries since a heartsong has been sung so loud and it's harmonious intent has stirred us to act. you have all been called and your being here means that you have chosen to answer." his voice is loud enough for the demigods to hear, though it seems intimate enough to almost be a one on one conversation. "i will not fool you by saying that what is to come will not be difficult. you are at a precipice unlike any other. your life, once thought to be mortal, now has divine purpose and with that purpose will come strife, anguish, pain. more than that will be glory, love, belonging. it is your choice to stay. it is your choice to fight."

he looks over his shoulder at the gods and goddesses, all whose eyes are locked on their respective child. it's as if they're peering into their souls, evaluating the strength and will power of their character, of their person. some have smiles on their faces, some are harder to read.

zeus looks back and continues. "today, if you choose, you will drink of the ambrosia to unlock the hidden power inside of you. this is not as simple as it sounds. you will come face to face with something. each person is different. for demigods past, there have been those who seem most unaffected while others seem to suffer and go through something nearly unbearable. that is why we are here. we will protect you from harming yourself or those around you." he holds up a hand, feeling an interruption about to come from somewhere.

"i know, i know. why are we deciding now to protect you. where were we all those times before. we were there, lingering, lurking. but we all took a vow, stained in ichor and sung in our hearts, to not interfere until if and when you were called. now that you're here, we can help as much as we can. if you allow us." he offers a kind smile, warm, infectious.

he holds up his arms and turns toward the temple. "inside, you will drink the ambrosia. you will face whatever it is that must come to pass and tomorrow, we celebrate! you are the guests of honor, you will be the talk of the divine! so come, let us begin this next journey side by side, parent to child, god to demigod."

as one, each of the gods and goddesses extend their hand out, waiting to see if their child will take it. if they do or don't, they wait only a handful of minutes before they walk into the temple. they each settle before a throne, arranged in a circle around the middle of the room. zeus is what seems to be the start and stop point and the others fan out around him. atop the marble and golden thrones is a crown of laurel and olive and a golden goblet with the ambrosia inside.

a golden weave of light begins from zeus and pierces through the heart of each of the gods around him until it loops back around him. it's bright, almost like the sun, and dims for a moment as power thrums through the temple. it's palpable, even to the demigods and they can feel a faint reverberation throughout the temple, as if it's humming.

"when you are ready," the gods and goddesses say in unison, the same inflection, the same tone, the same cadence. "step forward and place this crown atop your head and drink of that which has always belonged. fear now, our children, for we will protect you while your heartsong attunes to us." in each hand now, the gods hold the crown and the goblet.

and then, once the demigods step forward to accept their fate, they wait, they watch, and the demigods can hear them sing a song that fills their hearts.

If you were to work at Descendants as a writer, how would you write Descendants and which characters you’ll take out and keep?

I feel like I could write a whole book about this but I'll try to keep it short.

First and foremost, huma is canon and they get to have some kisses because everyone needs that.

Second, the movies wouldn't be so Mal centered and Mal would act more like she did in the first book and movie. As time went on she changed a lot and it was horrible.

Third, we got a look into Evie's life and how she was fulfilling her dreams in d3, but we didn't get to see any development from Carlos and Jay. So I would change that.

Fourth, idk I feel like Harry changed a lot between D2 and D3, his whole personality in D3 was being a hoe and it was kinda weird.

Fifth, more pirates please

Sixth, Ben seemed pretty helpless and didn't have any say over himself. It was sad, he needs to stand up for himself.

Seventh, Gil wouldn't have been pushed to the side

Eighth, that scene of Harry and Mal in D2 would be cut out. It honestly makes me uncomfortable and it was unnecessary. I know that it was originally supposed to be cut out but dove was adamant that it be kept in. (Whether that's true or not she said that in an interview and it opened too many opportunities for the Huma haters.)

Ninth, Hades isn't Mal's dad

Tenth, Uma wouldn't forgive Mal so easily, you don't just forget and forgive life long trauma

Also, Uma is the queen of the isle. Mal doesn't just get to claim that.

That's what I can think of off the top of my head, as for characters, I don't think I would get rid of any because they were all at some point, at least a little bit important to the story. I do wish CJ and Freddie could've been in the movies tho.

Most of my problems are in d3, but I'll take what I can get.
