Quick reminder for those who read fanfics:

You cant control the plot, only the writer does. And if the fic takes a turn you didn’t like, just stop reading it. There’s no excuse to send hate to the author, or to ask them to rewrite their work!

I understand that maybe you liked the fic and you wanted to finish reading it, but if it doesn’t make you happy anymore, like a book you lost interes in, then just stop reading (?), don't take your frustration our on the author.

Also, you don’t have to explain why you’re not readind it anymore, especially if no one asked you. There’s no need to be rude to the writter.

Damn, it's like some of you need to go back to kindergarden!

Have you ever experienced that moment when suddenly some voices sound in your head, then you realize they are the blorbos you are writing about; these characters seem to be alive in your mind and are having a conversation that makes total sense with what you are writing as if out of nowhere the words came to your mind while you were doing anything else; still, when you plan to write those perfect dialogues, they vanish from your mind like water in your hands?

The wolf in disguise

(Author’s note: Let’s see how this goes 😄👍)

He’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing except the wolf is terrible at playing dress up. Instead of soft, curly, white wool the wolf used thin, fluffy, white chicken feathers to mimic the wool of a sheep. But he didn’t fully cover his body in feathers. His long nose, pointy ears and grey tail stuck out like a rose in a field of bluebells. He’s obviously a wolf yet the sheep still believe he’s a sheep despite his major differences. The guard dog warns them about the wolf in disguise, but the sheep think they would know if they see a wolf in disguise. The guard dog tries to chase the wolf off yet the sheep defend him and say he’s a real sheep. The sheep refuse to let the guard dog chase away the imposter. They threaten to run away if the guard dog chases the sheep away. The guard dog continues to protect the flock despite the major danger among them. The guard dog could only hope the sheep realize the danger they’re in.

Trong cuộc sống, ít nhiều bạn sẽ gặp phải những người “toxic” – độc hại. Thi thoảng họ cũng có thể làm bạn vui đôi chút, nhưng phần lớn là buồn. Họ khiến bạn nghi ngờ về giá trị của bản thân. Và rất nhiều lần bạn tự hỏi tại sao họ lại cư xử như thế. Nhưng điều kỳ lạ nhất - bạn biết không - lại chẳng phải là cách hành xử của họ. Điều kỳ lạ nhất lại là: Chúng ta vẫn CHẤP NHẬN duy trì mối quan hệ với họ.

Theo thời gian, mình nhận ra thật khó để nói rằng trong mối quan hệ kia, ai đúng, ai sai. Mọi thứ bắt nguồn từ việc quy chuẩn của mỗi người khác nhau. Bạn nghĩ thế này mới là tôn trọng, đối phương nghĩ thế kia đã là tôn trọng. Bạn cho rằng như thế này là biểu hiện của thương yêu, nhưng ở chiều bên kia thì hoàn toàn không phải. Chính những góc nhìn lệch nhau, kỳ vọng lệch nhau, dẫn đến những thứ bạn cho rằng "toxic" (mà có khi với người kia hoàn toàn không phải vậy).

Khó có thể hi vọng một người thay đổi vì bạn. Nhưng có một điều có tính khả thi cao hơn, đó chính là bạn thay đổi, vì bạn. Bạn chọn để những người “toxic” đó ra khỏi đời mình, chứ không phải họ tự bước ra khỏi đời bạn.

Bởi, dù theo bất cứ quy chuẩn nào, thì việc làm cho bạn hạnh phúc, làm cho bạn tự tin vào giá trị của bản thân, làm cho bạn không bao giờ hồ nghi chính mình - vẫn luôn là điều quan trọng nhất. 🤷‍♀️

Why do we story writers, no matter if we're making fanfictions or original works, have this urge to make our blorbos suffer ?

I have been asking myself this question for years and I have yet to find an answer, personally...
