Lazy mornings? EASY. Jules loves nothing more than being able to curl up with his lover and just enjoy being with them. No rush, no expectations, just him, his lover and the warm morning bliss.

Don’t like spending time in bed? That’s fine. He’ll make you both your morning drink and you can chill out on the couch instead, talking nonsense, or cuddling or parallel play! He just wants to be with you. That’s all he really wants

As to how he likes to wind down after work? Julian is a gamer boy and would either like to build a farm with you, or play an RPG were you both can enjoy the story and the game play!

Or perhaps you aren’t into gaming? He would love nothing more than you being able to parallel play with him. Reading? Sure thing, just make sure to do it on his lap. Crocheting? Drawing? Listening to music? Same. He is a big guy, he can have you on his lap and still do his own thing.

When MC is born he’s in awe and auntie and uncle tell him, “She’s like your sister. You have to protect her like an older brother would.”

When Caleb’s in the second grade, MC is starting kindergarten and he makes sure to protect her from the older kids who like to tease and tug at her pigtails.

indeed, it seems baffling that leander, our reliable man, our nice guy, the nicest of the nicest, just forgets to warn mc about such a tiny little detail, easily forgettable for sure — that eridia's streets are unsafe at night 💀

he quickly covers it up by flirting — and boy, can i wait (can't, need this game right now) to see more of such instances, because he seems to master this craft, and it is working on most people, — hinting at mc's beauty and/or the intimate (and it is intimate for mc, whether you like leander or not) moment they shared.

but do you know the most important, tasty nuanced thing this tiny, blink-and-you-miss-it dialogue reveals? leander doesn't care about mc, about their life and safety; he's niceys, it's all just an act. sure, cap, you might say, we already know leander is a manipulative titty shit, what's new? but look at it another way: we know this because rss kindly backed us up with all this additional info and content so we don't starve to death while waiting for the release (rss, i would have gone through content drought anyway. this is not a shade, take your time, i love you). now imagine playing this game for the first time without a pile of lore stacked at the back of your mind and seeing these discrepancies in his behaviour (check out my previous post on this), foreshadowing that he's not as good as he seems and his path might be dark and gritty as hell.

one thing about the MC and Jade in Got You is both of them are fucking liars. not manipulatively … well sort of.

you see, both of them are wholly ignorant about the worlds the others live in. they are so, so many countless differences in their lifestyles. through technological differences, cultural differences as human and merfolk, history of their world (is george washington a political figure similar to simba, the two have often debated), how they were raised, just about everything!

and at certain times, they lie to each other a lot as friends.

exhibit A. after jamil’s overblot, MC mentioned offhandedly to Kalim how she was sad she wouldn’t get to celebrate Festivus (which is from Seinfeld) during the winter holiday. Kalim, being a close friend, said they should celebrate it together! what do you do on Festivus!

‘oh Festivus is the airing of grievances!’

cue MC airing out grievances and insulting everyone that caused her trouble while stuck in Scarabia. she uses the stage’s microphone for it and drills into everyone.

exhibit B. after learning Floyd and Jade are merfolk, seeing their forms in Scarbia for the first time, Jade notices just how very little MC is aware of anything to do with merfolk. he then lies to her that merfolk need to be within proximity of water at all times; if they breach a certain distance from water, their lungs start to collapse.

he plays it up. keeping near water foundations, citing how octavinelle is an underwater dorm, doing whatever to make it just slightly convincing.

cue Jade just walking with MC as she rolls her janitorial cart back to the staff room before preforming the most convincing asthma attack known to man.

their harmless pranks could use some reconsidering — jade’s fucking especially —but it’s a dynamic i treasure.
