It's something like 55 pages and includes character concept art, reflections, some rare exclusive sketches and all 25 inserts with their original scripts and artist commentary.

It's a little goodbye to a game that's been part of my life for 15 years or something. goodbye game. thank you.

I don't have useful advice since I don't know what those contract negotiations involve, but nonetheless I hope it hasn't stopped you from creating the thing!

Like, I think your concerns are valid; We Live In A Society™, the entities that have the most influence over what art gets to exist often exert negative control over it (and therefore cultural narratives at large)… but at the same time, it's not something the original creator has no control over. If "getting big" means getting offers from interested parties, it'd be up to you to decide whether or not the tradeoffs are acceptable. You can always hold onto it until a suitable opportunity comes up, right?

A couple of tiny Amarantus concept sketches!

1. Since we designed Arik last, I made this sketch to feel out how he would look interacting with others (although it's just the back of his head here lol).

2. It was also comparatively late in the dev cycle overall, so I was playing earlier builds of the game and trying to channel The Vibes Of The Lad. I suppose his look would've been pretty influenced by the types of choices I initially gravitated towards, huh... 🤔

My tablet finally died after a decade (I got it secondhand, so probably longer?) of faithful service - painted this to get accustomed to my new one!!

So it was *supposed* to be Kuo from TAZ Imbalance / the Zone of Adventure... but I somehow Mandela Effect'd myself into thinking they were green had a yellow beanie, and didn't realise until afterwards...so I guess this is a vaguely similar but unrelated denizen of the Feywild 😅
