작가소개

이은욱 작가는 한국예술종합학교 미술원을 졸업하고 런던예술대학교 센트럴 세인트 마틴 컬리지에서 파인아트 전공으로 석사를 받았다. 2006년 런던 블루룸에서 첫 개인전을 연 이후, 스페인의 Arteria 2007, 스웨덴의 Varmlansk Film Festival, 2009년 아이슬란드의 700IS Rein-deerland Festival 등 다양한 국제 스크리닝에 초대되었다. 또한, 2007년 서울 갤러리 175, 2018년 서울 세운상가 스페이스바, 2019년 런던 Old Police Station에서 개인전을 가졌으며, 독일과 네팔의 레지던시 프로그램에도 참여했다.

이번 아트스페이스 펄에서는 작가의 초기작부터 최근작까지 아우르며, 특히 5년 만에 신작을 공개하는 의미있는 전시이다.

Artist Kim Gyeonye(김건예)’s artwork at Artspace Purl in Daegu. I found Kim’s small size artwork in the Kim Okreal(Director of Contemporary Art Institute)’s study room. There are several classical art theory books. As a background, it was great harmony with an art image. The title of books leads to imagining the owner of the space. The show will continue until 7th June.
