Dear 2025…what the fuc-?

So I’m pretty sure no one is actually gonna read this but I just need a way to vent. 2025 has been pretty shit and I’m not [just] talking about the ridiculous situation regarding the POTUS trying to bully Canada into becoming the “51st” state (which confuses me cause isn’t Puerto Rico the 51st state?)

Anywho…

2025 for me has been thus far:

Financial struggles due to being off for half of 2024 (May 14th to December 10th) because my mental health took a nosedive

My purse gets stolen with my iPad, my sketchbook, my good pens, and a Pokeball Plus (the device that came with Let’s Go: Pikachu/Eevee) which had my FIRST EVER SHINY in it. Goodbye Mr. Blueberry the Boldore, I miss you so much (/ ;n;)/ 💔

Having to deal with medical appointment after medical appointment which usually involves me getting poked with needles (and I am very uncomfortable with needles)

The Psychiatrist I saw reminding me why I distrust them in the first place (he kept talking to me like I was stupid - I don’t need him telling me the world isn’t all black and white nor need him trying to be “relatable” like sir? Were you molested by your father for over 10 years and had him threaten your mother if she told anyone? No? Then zip it!)

And to top it all off, I was almost scammed out of $300. Thankfully that didn’t happen because I have several coworkers who do commissions and they both saw the red flags that I was unaware of.

So yeah, February hasn’t been too bad (aside from financial issues but they aren’t as bad as last month) but my God. How frustrating…

Sometimes the most random things will pop into your head at the most oddest times.

I’m currently on my hyper-fixation of One Piece and while I’m reading a fanfic - which has absolutely nothing to do with what came to mind - a question came to mind.

Franky has been shown to be impervious to bullets; he’s been shot at multiple times, has even put himself in harms way to shield others because the bullets bounce right off him. But his back (and as far as I remember, still true Post-Timeskip) is made of flesh and blood. So in theory, if he’s bulletproof from the front but not the back, wouldn’t the bullet end up stuck in his body? And how would they get it out?

I think in One Piece: Gold, there was a scene of this sort of scenario but it passed through him. If we take that into consideration then maybe if the projectile is strong/fast enough, it could pierce his armour.

But yeah, that’s what my brain has decided to question on a Saturday afternoon - the logistics of one of my favourite characters getting shot at.

Would make for some good angst material though…

I had never looked into this AU before and CHRIST I love it. I wanna do more with Ford and Dipper AND with the roles reversed. I read as many fics I could read it’s just so good. I love AUs jhebdciygerfi I have a few more asks with other AUs that I’m gonna dive into!!!

More random information of the Gravity Falls AU (that I'm mostly posting up to refer back to when my hyper-fixatations starts to wane)! Man, I should probably think of a name for this...

Anywho, this involves dates! When did everything happen? Where is everyone? For that, I had to do some brainstorming and math (one of my worst subjects in school).

So Torrey Pines is technically 15 at the start of the story but her birthday isn't that far away (well at least for her). I'm still debating on whether it takes place in California (where I have Shermie and his family living) or New Jersey (because I don't think Filbrick and Caryn would have the money travel all the way over to the other side of the US). As for when?

On August 31st, 1987, Torrey Pines attended the funeral of an estranged family member.

Now here's where things get complicated.

It's kinda hard to know when Stanford fell into the portal. People like to say it's the same date on the calendar in episode Carpet Deim [July 4th, 1982] but that date doesn't make sense since it was winter when Stanley arrived. So to be somewhat accurate, I read through Journal 3 (which I own a copy of and I try very hard not to remind myself that I missed out on the Blacklight Edition ;w;)

In Journal 3, the last recorded date is January 17th (assuming it's 1982) - the day they tested the portal and Fiddleford accidentally fell in. The next entry talks about what happened and Ford says, "I will speak with him tonight." So same day, night falls and Ford goes to sleep.

The next page...well, let's just say Ford knows the truth.

Reading further, he says he went into town for food after several weeks. More than 2 so 3 weeks passed. 21 + 17 = 38. January has 31 days so it's now February 7th, 1982. Now he also writes about this one place he's been going to over the past couple (2) of weeks but I think it's still within the same 3 weeks from before. More time passes, taking several days to hide Journal 2 and Journal 3. But obviously since Journal 3 is my source material and Ford had Journal 1 on him, who knows how long it took for Stanley to get to Gravity Falls. I did google for a general idea for how long it must've taken to get from New Mexico (which I think is where Stanley was when getting the postcard) to Oregon and it's about 20 hours. So like...a day.

So the date I have for the portal incident is February 8th, 1982.

THE SCENARIO IF STANLEY DID HAVE THE COURAGE TO ASK FORD FOR HELP THAT TIME BEFORE HE GOES TO GRAVITY FALLS AND FORD IS SOMEHOW CONVINCED TO COME DOWN AND MAKE AMENDS????????????
