Archive Decision
I've gotten a few suggestions about House MD and the TV show Psych. I'm not sure if they should go into the archive because they're inspired by Sherlock Holmes, but not him? I'm worried it might get this blog and the archive a little off track because it could lead to more and more less related media. But hey!
I'm indecisive, so, poll it is!

Sup! Seein' sources that are saying "Psych" the TV show is a SH adaptation. Soooo here's some links! https://www.amazon.com/gp/video/detail/amzn1.dv.gti.c8a9f6f6-8548-c77a-d99c-6c3f06dfd200?autoplay=0&ref_=atv_cf_strg_wb https://tv.apple.com/us/episode/psych-pilot/umc.cmc.3twujhcsf9fr7f49olzywbzjc?action=playSmartEpisode
I'm still not entirely sure how to go about with characters based on Holmes. Some are connected enough to him, but others are a bit tricky. Regardless, I'll be considering rewatching some of Psych and seeing what I think. (Probably will make a poll, just to be safe)

PART 2 Art in the Blood (book by Bonnie Macbird): "This latest adventure, in the style of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, sends the iconic duo from London to Paris and the icy wilds of Lancashire in a case which tests Watson's friendship and the fragility and gifts of Sherlock Holmes' own artistic nature to the limits." - Published 2015 Unquiet Spirits: Whisky, Ghosts, Murder (book by Bonnie Macbird): - Published 2017 The Devil’s Due (book by Bonnie Macbird): "It’s 1890 and the newly famous Sherlock Holmes faces his worst adversary to date – a diabolical villain bent on destroying some of London’s most admired public figures in particularly gruesome ways. A further puzzle is that suicide closely attends each of the murders. As he tracks the killer through vast and seething London, Holmes finds himself battling both an envious Scotland Yard and a critical press as he follows a complex trail from performers to princes, anarchists to aesthetes. But when his brother Mycroft disappears, apparently the victim of murder, even those loyal to Holmes begin to wonder how close to the flames he has travelled. Has Sherlock Holmes himself made a deal with the devil?" - Published 2019 The Three Locks (book by Bonnie Macbird): - Published 2021 What Child is This? (book by Bonnie Macbird): "It’s Christmastime in London, and Sherlock Holmes takes on two cases. The angelic three-year-old child of a wealthy couple is the target of a vicious kidnapper, and a country aristocrat worries that his handsome, favourite son has mysteriously vanished from his London pied à terre. Holmes and Watson, aided by the colourful Heffie O’Malley, slip slide in the ice to ensure a merry Christmas is had by nearly everybody . . ." - Published 2022 The Serpent Under (book by Bonnie Macbird): - Published 2024 The House of Silk: A Sherlock Holmes Novel (book by Anthony Horowitz): "Destined to become an instant classic, The House of Silk brings Sherlock Holmes back with all the nuance, pacing, and almost superhuman powers of analysis and deduction that made him the world's greatest detective, in a case depicting events too shocking, too monstrous to ever appear in print…until now." - Published 2012 Moriarty: A Novel (book by Anthony Horowitz): "The game is once again afoot in this thrilling mystery from internationally
Sherlock Holmes and Count Dracula: The First of The Classified Dossier Series Paperback (book by Christian Klaver): "1902. Sherlock Holmes’s latest case begins with a severed finger. With no signs of decomposition and an adverse reaction to silver, it is the most perplexing mystery yet – one that relates to their next client – and the moment Sherlock’s and Watson’s lives are irrevocably changed. A Transylvanian nobleman called Count Dracula arrives at Baker Street seeking Sherlock’s help, for his beloved wife Mina has been kidnapped. But Dracula is a client like no other and Sherlock and Watson must confront – despite the wild, unbelievable notion – the existence of vampires. And before long, Sherlock, Watson and their new vampire allies must work together to banish a powerful enemy growing in the shadows…" - Published 2022
Sherlock Holmes and Mr Hyde: The Classified Dossier (book by Christian Klaver): "1903. A darkness has descended on London. A series of grisly murders are uncovered, trophies taken, bodies arranged and soon there are whispers of Jack the Ripper’s return. A new client arrives at Baker Street seeking Sherlock Holmes’s help: Dr Jekyll claims his friend has been wrongfully accused of the hideous crimes, a friend called Mr Edward Hyde, whose very existence relies on a potion administered by the doctor himself. But the case becomes more complicated, more unsettling than simply proving Mr Hyde’s innocence – for Holmes and Watson unearth beastly transformations, a killer who moves unseen, a secret organisation and then find a traitor in their midst…." - Published 2023
Sherlock Holmes and Dorian Gray: The Classified Dossier (book by Christian Klaver): "1903. Sherlock Holmes and Dr John Watson have tickets to the newly arrived Circus of Amun-Ra. Holmes is puzzled by his brother Mycroft’s cryptic gift but is intrigued enough to attend the next production. The performers, dressed as wondrous half-animal, half-human gods from Egyptian mythology, display superhuman agility and stunts. But they speak no Arabic, sequester themselves in the stables after each show and take orders from a mysterious ring master who is yet to be seen. And then one of the performers is murdered. Holmes’s enquires lead him to a townhouse near Gorsvenor Square, the home of the beautiful and secretive socialite Dorian Gray. As Holmes digs deeper, he learns Gray is hiding much more than his involvement in a murder in a darkly fantastical tale of lies, experimentation, hypnosis and wicked ambition." - Published 2025

Again, thank you so much for the help! This is a serious amount of adaptations, and I really appreciate it. I have a lot of time to kill as of right now, so hopefully all of these will be up within the next week or two. (I review everything manually, which can take quite some time since. it's literally only me)

Alrighty. I'm snatching stuff up from my shelf now and random crap I'm finding...LET'S GO (part 1 'cause there's too much)- (fyi if i left some descriptions blank it's because I was either too lazy to write a summarized version or thought the existing summary was too long).
Sherlock BBC mangas (first season + Scandal in Belgravia): "Adapting the first series of the smash-hit TV series into the manga format, collected together in this fantastic Slipcase Edition! Including Art Cards featuring the cover art from the individual books." - Published 2018 / 2023 Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Holmes (book by Loren D. Estleman): "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Holmes is a Sherlock Holmes pastiche novel by Loren D. Estleman, originally published in 1979. The novel is an account of Holmes' dealing with the mystery of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde as originally narrated in Robert Louis Stevenson's 1886 novella Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde." - Published 1979 The Whole Art of Detection: Lost Mysteries of Sherlock Holmes (book by Lyndsay Faye): A collection of newly written stories that take place over the course of Holmes' entire career. - Published 2017 Dust and Shadow: An Account of the Ripper Killings by Dr. John H. Watson (book by Lyndsay Faye): "Dust and Shadow: An Account of the Ripper Killings by Dr. John H. Watson is a Sherlock Holmes pastiche novel by Lyndsay Faye which pits Sherlock Holmes against Jack the Ripper." - Published 2009 Observations by Gaslight: Stories from the World of Sherlock Holmes (book by Lyndsay Faye): "Beloved adventuress Irene Adler teams up with her former adversary in a near-deadly inquiry into a room full of eerily stopped grandfather clocks. Learn of the case that cemented the lasting friendship between Holmes and Inspector Lestrade, and of the tragic crime which haunted the Yarder into joining the police force. And witness Stanley Hopkins’ first meeting with the remote logician he idolizes, who will one day become his devoted mentor." - Published 2021
Sherlock Holmes: Cases From The Great Fog (Sherlock Holmes: Journeys Beyond the Fog Book 1) - (book by J. L. Tyne): "Join the world's greatest detective as he pierces the seemingly impenetrable shroud to solve some of his most baffling cases: a physicist murdered in a room locked from within by an invisible force, deadly river pirates who strike from a phantom craft, an entire omnibus full of passengers vanishing into thin air, and a sinister betrayal that brings the danger chillingly close to home, culminating in a deadly game of wits played out in the fog's suffocating embrace." - Published 2025 Holmes Away From Home: Adventures from the Great Hiatus, Volume I: 1891-1892 (book by David Marcum): "Sherlock Holmes! The very name of the world’s greatest detective conjures up images of Victorian London, gaslit streets, hansom cabs, and dense fogs. But there was a time, a dark three-year period, when London had to make do without Sherlock Holmes. From 1891 to 1894, he was presumed to be dead, having perished during the epic struggle with that infamous Napoleon of Crime, Professor Moriarty, atop the Reichenbach Falls. But unknown to most, even his friend Dr. Watson, Holmes survived. During those three years, he roamed the world, acting as an agent for the British Government and using his very special skills along the way." - Published 2016 Holmes Away from Home: Adventures from the Great Hiatus, Volume II: 1893-1894 (book by David Marcum): same as before - Published 2016 Moriarty the Patriot (manga series by Ryosuke Takeuchi and Hikara Miyoshi) The Lost Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (book by Ken Greenwald): "Recently 221 "A" Baker Street Associates found an entire season of long-lost Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce radio broadcasts. Here were the answers to many of the questions only hinted at in the original stories: How and when did Sherlock Holmes meet Professor Moriarty? Why did Sherlock Holmes buy his Sussex bee farm? These puzzles and many others are solved in this collection of The Lost Adventures of Sherlock Holmes." - Published 1993 The Final Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (book collected by Peter Haining, written by Conan Doyle): "A collection of stories, plays, & poems provide the final account of the great sleuth Holmes." - Published 1981 Mycroft Holmes (book by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Anna Waterhouse): "Written by NBA superstar Kareem Abdul- Jabbar and screenwriter Anna Waterhouse, Mycroft Holmes reveals the untold story of Sherlock’s older brother. This harrowing adventure changed his life, and set the stage for the man Mycroft would become: founder of the famous Diogenes Club and the hidden power behind the British government." - Published 2015 Mycroft and Sherlock (book by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Anna Waterhouse): "Now a force to be reckoned with in the War Office, the young Mycroft Holmes is growing his network of contacts and influence, although not always in a manner that pleases his closest friend, Cyrus Douglas. A Trinidadian of African descent, Douglas has opened a home for orphaned children, while still running his successful import business." - Published 2018 The Empty Birdcage (book by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Anna Waterhouse): - Published 2019
Thank you so much for your contribution! (I'll also be answering your other asks in a little while!) It might take me a little bit to look over these and get them onto the doc, but I promise this was all extremely helpful! If you also could find a link to a page for the BBC manga, or something of the sort for the author/artist, that would be great!
