could you imagine if after *that* episode Claude said something along the lines of feeling bad that he’s not more Jericho’s type or sorry that he’s not someone Jericho normally would have picked to spend the night with and it’s the first and last and only time Jericho tells him he’s beautiful and then Jericho just lays awake all night because he just got hit in the face with one more way he’s hurt Claude even more than he realized

He's aware he has a very pretty face (with very rare and stunning eyes), but Jericho has told him it's not his type, so he doesn't like it. That's why he's always seen in a mask in the episodes that take place in the jungle where everyone else is maskless.

Though it's become more clear lately that Jericho doesn't actually think this and it's just part of keeping Claude at a distance. I think Claude's starting to realize that too so is hiding it less.

How I think the Blan Crew would do on the Blank Hunter Exam

Jericho - he would fail at every level. I’d say Jay would maybe let him pass to not get fired, but he wouldn't even get to the field part. The written exam is written (need I say more), and in this hypothetical he’d have to pretend to be human, so he’d have no scion and the combat part would hand his ass to him

Claude - would pass like it’s nobody’s business. Written exam? Probably wouldn't even need to study. Combat part? Pray for those animal blanks. Field part? Jay and the twins are going down. He could get away with using his blank leg bc all he’d need to hide it would be pants, but he wouldn’t even need it

Bell - she’d probably pass if you gave her a weekend’s notice. Would need to study a bit for the written exam and would probably feel a little bad about the combat part and maybe the field (if she had to go after one of the twins), but she could definitely pull it off

Nia - would brutalize the entire test almost as much as Claude would. Might struggle a bit on the field since she wouldn’t be able to safely clip through walls, but she’d still get it done

Rex - doubt it. I’m including him again bc he’s fully developed now, which I don’t think would affect performance on the written and combat parts, but would screw him over on the field. He has the new advantage of being used to having lungs, but he can’t jump a roof and rely on his lack of bones to keep him alive, so his chances are slim

Rex’s scion - could only pass via pity. It could get through the written part bc it knows everything Rex does, and could take down those animal blanks even without using abilities, but it would die on the field part. It’s not used to having lungs and muscles that can get tired, so it would probably be a near perfect imitation of wheezing Shnee in 10 minutes flat. If Jay doesn’t see it murder the animal blanks, he might let it pass just to keep his job

Jericho’s scion - nope. It has the potential to pass the written exam bc I think it would be better at using context clues to figure things out and guess correctly than Jericho, and even if it’s pretending to be human it could probably get through the combat part with sheer rage. But it would absolutely fail the field part for the same reasons I listed for Rex’s scion, plus it’s got Jericho’s useless twig body

Weekly thoughts- Ep 185. Late again, and also last one for a bit since CoB's going on a little break as of this ep! I explained in the episode, but I'm just in desperate need of a break and chance to rebuild my buffer a bit.

Anyway... Not actually a ton to say. Once again a little sad that this was kind of a big moment with a huge cliffhanger but people are still kinda...tuned out. I really hope people come back after the break...

As for the actual episode, I think hands down most comments were about Jericho's new drip haha. And don't get me wrong, they were hilarious and i love everyone imagining that Jericho had to sit down and figure out his villain outfit before heading out to kill his brother. HOWEVER i hate to break it to everyone, but *canonly* he probably just had this thing in a closet and grabbed it before hurrying out haha.

I said at some point early in the season that Jericho's main look for this season is probably my least fav, but i went with it because *this* outfit is like...the complete version. I think he planned this entire look *with* the jacket, but obviously he's not gonna wear that jacket around the house so it's just been in a closet until he finally went out again. He probably wore it too that night he snuck out to get his tongue pierced but we just didn't see it. So sorry, no comedic "but wait first i gotta plan my villain fit" scene before this ep. Jericho's just very fashionable and had this together since the beginning of the season, we just didn't see the complete look until now.

my favorite part of this is the implication she could have found him all this time, but just decided he needed to learn his lesson first

Look at this guy. Just look at him. Who gave him such a cool outfit? Who the fuck is out there making these boss ass villain outfits? I know there’s someone making them bc there’s no way in hell Jericho has the skills to make this or his season 3 finale jacket. And it’s not Claude either bc Claude would not waste time on that. Someone is out there with the bragging rights. Someone is out there who can say that they made kickass clothes for THE red blank.

So it’s been established that Nia has about the same regard for personal space as a puppy. Assumptions can be made that she’s been consistently hanging out at the Sour Grape because she’s present in casual scenes where she wouldn’t be there for a mission, and that the Blan crew doesn’t have much to do because it’s illegal for them to exist in public spaces. Putting all of these points together, there have been more than plenty of occasions where Nia could take up residence in someone’s personal space and have little to no reason to leave for long periods of time.

In conclusion, there’s definitely been at least one instance (probably multiple) of Nia falling asleep on Jericho and him complaining about it like the loser he is, thank you for coming to my TedTalk.

HMMM. Rex's scion, probably not, other than maybe a different color scheme.

Weekly thoughts- Ep 181

omg almost forgot about this one. been REALLY preoccupied w/ some IRL stuff the past two weeks and for once in my life, CoB's really been on the back burner in my brain.

tbh, it's been a really stressful time for me, which is why this episode and everyone's response to it was kind of a major highlight of the week for me haha. the comments on this ep were some of the funniest i've read in a while and i'm so glad. this was such a fun episode, probably my fav in a while, and i'm glad everyone else had fun with it too. ik it wasn't one of the biggest episode and the numbers reflect that, but those who did engage clearly had fun too. please keep all the failed stealth mission comments coming.

i will say this episode was a BITCH to draw, but i really like the pay off of it. like i said last week, lyss and nia is one of the most fun dynamics to write and i also noticed a few people picked up on what i was laying down with them hehehe.

i've def seen some lyss x nia emerging since this ep and........yeah i won't lie, i had fun this episode pointing in that direction. i will be honest tho, to not get your hopes up too high for like...some huge romance for them or anything. honestly the ship never occurred to me until writing these eps and i've already kind of got the remainder of the story planned out. i don't really believe in putting two characters together (canonly) without building their relationship, and i'm not sure if they'll get the time to do that like we've had with rex x bell or claude x jericho. but that said... oh yeah, i was totally shipping them this episode because i think they'd be super cute lol. head canon whatever you want.

The only trope better than always being there is suddenly being there. Instead of cuddling often or always saying they love each other or being soft and cute they do other things. Things that don’t seem affectionate but are, unconventional love language that doesn’t need physical closeness or blatant vulnerability. And then all of a sudden they do need that. One of them goes through something horrible, and suddenly the only thing the other can think to do for them IS the conventional closeness, suddenly one of them WANTS the open affection and vulnerability they never needed before. On one hand it does help, but on the other hand why do they suddenly need this? How could something mess with them so much that now they suddenly need everything they’d never even thought to want? What could render them so helpless that everything they used to do to show their love is replaced by the opposite? And they still have the way they normally showed affection but suddenly it’s just not enough anymore. Suddenly there’s this damage that needs a bandage bigger than either of them ever thought they could need. How do either of them cope with the fact that this thing managed to change one of them so much? How do either of them cope with the way it changes their relationship?
