october 31th international holiday for: bisexuals, goths, middle childs, ig baddies, metalheads, people who started shit during debates on sociology class, crazy scientists, entps, people who read books they hate so they can criticize it properly, people with adhd, and last but not least, necromancers.

Florence and the Machine at last night’s Spotify event in Brooklyn. As Florence began to sing Sky Full of Song a literal storm began to hit, she never faltered and embraced the storm.

“…there are rare moments when another soul dips near yours, as stars once a year brush the earth. Such a constellation was he to me.”

in traditional chinese medicine the spleen is related to late summer & you know how virgo rules the digestive system, intestines & spleen. in TCM worry, anxiety and overthinking are the negative feelings related to the spleen - inherently related to feelings of ... doing the right thing, choosing right - knowing your self-worth, knowing yourself: because this is what we worry about, right? whether we are doing enough. whether we are good enough.
the present element, the element of late summer & of virgo, is earth. and i mean... our material bodies are of this earth & this is a large part of our experience here! our bodies can tell us so many things and this is the time to learn to listen to what your body has to say, what your gut has to say.
but i’m just thinking about how in tcm summer is fire-ruled and the central organ is the heart & how leo rules the heart. and you know where you have to feel all your feelings? in your heart. so even if it is another organ that is related to the feeling (like spleen/anxiety), it is in your heart where that feeling is present, where that feeling is processed, where the translation takes place
so it all goes back to the cyclical nature of all things.... to know if you can listen to your gut, you need to first ask yourself: did you tend your heart this summer, did you take care of her? did you lay on the ground and think “this moment is enough”? did you laugh? did you imagine a shining light beginning from the very center of your heart, first filling your ribcage, then your whole body, the room, the house, the whole universe? did you let your heart do what she does the best: love?
and now, considering all these things - do you think your heart is open enough to translate back to you what your gut is trying to tell you now?
#i love when culture and science mesh to create profound / spiritual things like this#i rmr learning in my neuro classes abt how the gut is connected to the mind n how the food u eat can influence ur mood / feelings#and it frustrates me how eastern cultures have known this for centuries but the west won't acknowledge the intelligence of us#oh well i'm getting off topic but anyways#i love how things are always interconnected even when you think they are not :')#astrology#spirituality#??? id ont know how to tag anymore sorry
