Just watched the live action how to train your dragon in theaters

ngl i thought this movie wasnt gonna be good. Well i had more faith cause it was dreamworks, unlike with disney. But holy shit

IT WAS AMAZING

And thats saying a lot because ive been told i have impossible movie standards...

Not only do i think its a great adaptation. I think it can stand fairly well on its own as a stand alone movie

My MyStreet headcanons are

Aphmau got held back in the first grade, making her 15-16 in her freshman year (and Aaron's 17 in the same year). I think that helps the age gap. Because at best in canon shes 15 and hes 17, at WORST, shes 14 and hes fucking 18????

Laurance was in and out of the foster system a lot as a kid, until at age 12 his parents forfeit custody. He was moved in with his uncle Joh, until Joh died in a wreck. So he was put back into the system. At age 14 his current home adopts him, his adoptive father being Hayden. Hayden also previously adopted Cadenza.

Aaron was actually allowed to have werewolf friends as a child, so he'd be able to socialize and form healthy connections. Because Derek didn't want to torture and isolate his child. They were kids from upper class werewolf families and business associates. But one day, Aaron got upset and his eyes started glowing and the kid who saw snitched to his parents and Derek had to pay the family MASSIVE hush money. So Derek and Rachel decided to isolate Aaron until he could control himself. (But yknow how that song and dance goes...)

Aaron was homeschooled till the 7th grade. He had private tutors and had classes with Melissa until she started public school early on.

Travis was moved around a lot as a kid due to his father being wary of the Council of Magic. And because of the bad things Michael got up to. This led to Travis becoming very attached to the one constant in his life: his father. But in high school Terry keeps him in one place and tries to encourage his independence, so Travis can get out of their situation at least a little. This is why Travis has zero friends in high school, or acquaintances, why he's so socially awkward, AND WHY HE CLINGS TO PEOPLE SO EASILY AND SO HARD. Aphmau? Instant buddies. Dante? New idol.

Welcome to the Aphverse Mythos Project

As a fandom we have such a wonderfully diverse array of interpretations of the Divine Warriors and various invented Pantheons.

I wanted to create a collaborative project to create a collection of 'in-universe' myths, legends, and fairy tales which might be known to our main characters, particularly by the time of MyStreet, surrounding these semi-mythical religious figures. The idea is to end up with something which could be imagined to be a compendium of myths that might be bought in bookstores in Phoenix Drop.

The project is open to anyone and there will be a signup form posted shortly (in the next few days). You can participate as a writer, artist, beta or a combination of one or more. You are welcome to work on your own individual piece or team up with a writer/artist and work together although there will be no formal team up process.

Minecraft Diaries Brothers Swap AU: Differences!

(Pre-Season 1/early season 1)

For context: this is an AU I made up, I have other posts explaining it

Zane

He is no longer a villain, rather a self serving chaotic neutral character. He is not a hero or exactly a good guy, but he's not evil. He's also less of a maniac. This is from his changed upbringing due to Garroth's death.

He does not become the High Priest of O'khasis because he runs away before he's old enough to take power.

Garroth

He becomes more of an antagonist and later an anti-hero. He still has his deep care for people and raging emotions, but his experiences as a Shadow Knight have twisted them, A LOT.

He does end up in Phoenix Drop, but not for the reasons Vylad did.

He obviously never ends up becoming a guard, or even training for it.

Vylad

This Vylad is a lot more sheltered than canon Vylad. But he is still emotionally guarded because of his upbringing and Garroth’s death.

He relies on his mother a lot and she also relies on him emotionally. They're very close.

Zianna becomes Queen Regent and Vylad in this AU tries to claim political power despite his birth.

He never ends up in Phoenix Drop due to him being worried about assassination on the road, or there being a coup in his absence. So that mf stays in O'khasis 24/7. But he does end up meeting Aphmau in person later despite this. For better or for worse.

Zenix

Zenix is not found by Garroth since he meets Garroth in the Nether as a fellow Shadow Knight. Rather, Zane finds him, patches him up, scares the shit out of him, and sends him on his way. When he sees Zenix sneaking around the village, doing his Shadow Knight spying and shenanigans, Zane takes him in and makes Dale deal with him.

So TLDR; Zenix is trained as a guard by Dale. And when he's not being trained he's taking care of Dale while he's drunk. Dale's issues make it much easier for Zenix to sneak around and do bad stuff.

He forms an emotional attachment to Dale, but that doesn't stop him from betraying them.Zenix is terrified of Garroth.

Aaron

Laurance

Everything up until the Nether stays the same, except yknow minus any Garroth and Laurance interactions

In the Nether he doesn't really meet Garroth but rather sees him, glimpses. Kinda hard to break the ice over all the torture. But he decides that he is a major threat and he should be wary of him. But he also doesn't hate him, empathizing with their shared situation. He ALSO doesn't know that Garroth is the ex-firstborn prince of O'khasis. Yet.

So sadly, no friendship… yet.

Laurance has a decently smoother romance with Aphmau. Btw not confirming any ship, I'm just saying that he's not beefing with Garroth over Aphmau constantly. No, he's getting pissed over Zane :]

Laurance has a like/hate relationship with Zane. He knows he's hiding something and just gets the worst vibes off of him. Oh and he doesn't like Zane's attitude.

I don't think that magically Ragatha is starting to lose her charm to Pomni so that Jax can appear more appealing to the viewers. I dont know if anyones thinking that but I did think it for a second. But I think that it's because during the first like week, or two? Times weird. I think that at first Pomni really needed that very positive influence. Because Pomni was reeling and needed to be taken care of. But now that she's getting her bearings? She no longer needs Ragatha's positivity and comfort nearly as much. So she doesnt react positively to it anymore.

I think Pomni definitely likes Ragatha still, but she's starting to befriend Jax and she feels pressure to not disappoint Ragatha. Like she sees Ragatha watching her laugh at Jax's antics, and Pomni forces herself to stop laughing

At the end of the episode, Ragatha definitely feels alone and maybe thinks that Pomni doesnt like her as much anymore

But i dont think thats true. Pomni was just going off with Jax because he literally wanted to show her something

Minor spoilers for Amazing Digital Circus ep 7!

(*episode 5 im so used to typing mystreet season 7 i messed up)

Jax doesn't seem to like things that remind him of the real world. Fast food? Literally destroyed him. Being in a school? Complaining. Yes he did complain about it being an anime but the first thing he said was "back in school". He seems to prefer being in a game or a delusion, anything to distract himself and allow himsslf to mentally and emotionally detach himself from the situation. Which is why he complains about "lame" adventures. He soesnt like being left to his thoughts

And when they get the quiet moment during the picnic, he seems to mellow out, and slightly open up

Just my thoughts tho, not fact

A crack theory, IS THE WORLD GOING TO END???

Yknow what, here's my prediction, on the record! The series will end with them nearly succeeding in defeating the void but something will go wrong. It will end with a shot of everyone getting got as it then shows Aaron and Aphmau holding each other, as they say I do. And then it will either have a flash ending, or will pan to a wide shot of the void consuming everything

More on my MCD brothers swap AU

(which is where Garroth takes Vylad's place, Zane takes Garroth's, Vylad takes Zane's)

At age fourteen, Garroth is assassinated, and his body is stolen. Garte scrubs O'Khasis from top to bottom but the killer is long gone. This further hardens Garte's already rough exterior. He sets Garroth aside in his mind and focuses all of his intentions onto Zane, the new first born son.

Zane up to this point has been desperate for his father's attention and approval his whole life. Hes always been second to Garroth, his shadow. Also when Garroth dies Zianna emotionally retreats as a parent but clings to her remaining children. So Zane's entire world and understanding of things is completely tossed upside down. Also despite hating him, he finds that he actually misses his brother, dearly. And while he enjoys the new attention, Zane eventually has a world shattering realization. That he does not matter in the slightest to his father beyond his use. He had always assumed that he wasnt enough and thats why he was second. But nope. He just wasnt a priority because of his usefullness or lack there of.

Okay so with Vylad, he is absolutely destroyed by Garroth's death. Garroth was who he looked up to, and his real brother, half related or not. After Garroth's death, Garte goes from ignoring him to yelling at him whenever he dares enters Garte's sights. Zane goes from feeling indifference for Vylad to hating him, wishing that he had died instead of Garroth. But he doesn't terrorize Vylad, just glares at him a lot and never speaks to him. So Vylad's life at this point is actually really miserable. Most days he's either off climbing something or hunkered away in the library. He still has Zianna in his corner, but he doesnt really have a parent. Vylad ends up bonding with most of the servants and wait staff, forming solid relationships (important for later)

Garroth, my poor boy, is taken to the Nether by a Shadow Knight, and is converted. And yknow how that goes... So to be frank he is an extremely unstable Shadow Knight, full loose canon, and most of the time is left chained up in the nether because of it. Hes also an extremely powerful and strong SK. hehe

I'll leave Garroth's lore mostly vague for now, stil figuring it out, also wooo mystery

Ok so this AU isnt a romance one but technically I think the new love triangle would be Zane x Aphmau x Laurance

Not just cause hes replacing Garroth, but I think it makes sense for his character in this AU, but Zanemau is not endgame oops sorryyy ok thats enough shipping

Ill get more into Phoenix Drop and Zanes dynamics with aphmau and everyone there another time

Ok so i had this idea. A MCD swap AU but SOLEY between Garroth, Vylad, and Zane

Garroth takes Vylad's place: he is killed as a child and becomes a shadow knight, a very unstable one

Zane takes Garroth's place: when his brother dies his father suddenly cares about him and Zane has big realization moment, later runs away out of pure spite + to avenge Garroth's murder, ends up in Phoenix Drop

Vylad takes Zane's place: when Garte is gone and Zane's run away, he is left to hold everything together in O'Khasis, and sincs he is illegitimate hes like white knuckles iron gripping his small claim to power as he makes sense of everything
