Hey RAE? Listen to me. If I'm looking up a word in a dictionary it's because I don't know what the word means. That is what dictionaries are for.... So using a different form of the word in the definition DOESN'T HELP😭

Hello! I haven't updated this blog in a long while because... It finally happened!! I finally moved to Japan!! It's been an intense exhausting month so far, I'm still not entirely sure what I'm doing most of the time but I'm just winging it. I'm working as an ALT so I assist in the English teaching at 1 junior high school and 2 elementary schools so my schedule is a little all over the place and I feel like I'm never at one school long enough to actually become part of the community... But many people have complimented my language abilities and I've been travelling around different places like Nara and Osaka which is really cool. I'm scared of being lonely again like I was in Spain but I'm just trying to take it one step at a time.

Learn Kanji by radicals instead of by strokes
Kanji is made up of parts called radicals. If you learn by strokes you will sometimes have over 15 strokes. But if you learn the radicals, kanji becomes much more simple. Radicals are like building blocks and you only need 2-4 to put together a kanji. But it is still important to know how to write kanji in proper stroke order.

Hello! I don't use this blog as much anymore since I left uni and lost all structure to my life and have since been going down a depression spiral along with intense headaches and migraines and so when I look back at the past half year I'm like 'Wow damn I have done... Literally nothing productive. Ever.'
Since this blog has helped me a lot with keeping myself motivated for language learning, I would like to continue at it, and so I may start posting again to keep myself accountable for doing things? Maybe start some sort of challenge? We'll see
I've recently seen some people posting their JLPT scores and passing N1 and it's made me very jealous but in a good way that makes me think 'damn I want to do that too' - I've mostly completed my N1 kanji text book and I'm about halfway through my reading one but I'd like to at some point buy a grammar one because my grammar is awful - and then maybe take the test in June (if they do it??)?
I also did like 50 lessons of Korean with Billy on Youtube last year but then since stopped and have forgotten everything so I'd like to get to that again.
I did complete the Duolingo tree for Portuguese! And I'd like to get to properly learning verb conjugations!
And finally I'd like to read a book properly in Spanish and check the news in Spanish regularly to not forget it!
I have read 10 books just within the last month so I may post some like... book reviews at some point.
Let us see what happens! Good luck to everyone else with their language goals!

This answer... I started in Spanish fine like 'Oh yeah los buhos' then when it came to 'cooked', my brain turned into Portuguese with 'cozinhar' mixed with the Spanish past preterite... And then when it came to 'spicy', my brain could only think of the Korean '매워'....

Affirmations For Students Taking Exams Right Now!
I’m going to do my best and get what I get.
I refuse to let myself feel guilt for any score I get during a pandemic
This test does not define any part of me.
This number won’t matter three years from now.
My score does not represent my intelligence.
My best does not have to be the same as anyone else.
I will make it through this.

Aaaaa so my year abroad to Japan in university in 2020 was completely cancelled due to the pandemic and I wasn't able to go....
Then I got onto the JET Programme this year and was told I was going to leave in September, so that was all good... And then I was told that was cancelled and it would be later... Then later... Then it was finally set for Saturday 4th December....
I got an email earlier today to say that due to the new strain of the virus, our flight has been cancelled and it's like...
I know it's not anyone's fault and that no one could have predicted this virus that's taking over but I've had my life on hold just sitting in my hometown for the last 6 months and I'm so sad. I'm so lonely and I have no purpose and I just. Want to follow my dreams and go to the country I've been studying so much about but I can't and I don't know what to do...
