I think it could've been more along the lines of obsession and trying to understand, maybe even overthrow him. Yes I'm biased and see only the brave as my personal canon, but Regulus wasn't stupid. I think, maybe in the back of his mind, part of the obsession was for if he ever found a way to fight from the inside

i don't even know how to start this post, i'm genuinely so tired of having to address stuff pertaining to unbreakable heaven, but here we go againnn

someone i don't know nor have i ever heard of or interacted with decided to reupload unbreakable heaven without my consent, and not only that but they blatanly lied about it in the author's notes

unbreakable heaven is not deleted, just hidden away in an unrevealed collection

this person did not ask for my permission before reuploading my fic

i would never willingly detach my name from or lose ownership of any of my fics no matter what

i'm someone who takes a lot of pride in their work, so to suggest that i would allow anyone to finish writing something i started is extremely insulting

i haven't completely left the fandom, i'm still very much here

i'm not unreachable by any means. i can be found on tiktok, tumblr and twitter @/sequinhaze. you can shoot me a dm anywhere, anytime

the person who reposted heaven did not even mention my name or my username, they actually blocked me from commenting on ao3

anyway, i'm really tired, i've had an awful week because work has been hell and i've been sick asf, and the last thing i wanted to deal with today was this

if you're the person who reuploaded heaven or you know whoever did it, tell them that i do not approve of this whatsoever, though i doubt that they'll care

i feel like i've already been disrespected enough as it is, both as a fan creator and as a person, to now have to deal with blatant plagiarism of all things. i write fics because it brings me joy to do so, but this fandom almost killed my creative drive altogether so i had to move to a different fandom praying that i could rediscover my love for writing, which i did, i truly did, but then things like this happen and i have to ask myself if sharing my works is worth the disrespect i still receive on a regular basis

i'll cut to the chase, someone re-uploaded black mass to ao3 within the past few days. i am now here, supremely pissed off, and dragging my soapbox back.

black mass has been taken down, it has stayed down, and I do not have any intentions of re-uploading it myself. i thought I had made this very, very clear with my silence and absence from the fandom. from my multiple posts about it. with my removing of almost all of my old works. i do not want anything to do with all of this, and i'd like to be left alone. i changed all of my usernames and i cut ties beyond a few loose rosekiller ones.

this does not mean you can re-upload my work or do with it as you please now that it is gone.

from what i can tell, this person does not have a tumblr or at least not one that I can find connected to the ao3 username, so we've found ourselves here. i have no way to reach out to them.

they have no works, and the fic has been taken down as of now, but there had already been three chapters posted, two bookmarks, and three comments which I hope were full of disapproval and not praise for blatantly ignoring the author's (mine) wishes.

i do not think it is outlandish to assume a large majority of the fandom knows my standing on black mass. I'll take this moment to say I appreciate all the people who I see in comments, etc. letting people know what my wishes are for my removed works. thank you. really.

i do not know if this person is aware of the fucking exhausting battle that black mass has been for me personally. i am not sure if they are aware of my reasoning for taking it down, what my wishes have been, etc. but at the same time, this goes far beyond me, and instead ventures into respect territory that we are all so tired of speaking about. respect for all writers, artists, creators. it seems all this fandom is nowadays is blatant disregard disguised as an almost pissing contest for who can be the most hearltess.

and i'd like to still give the benefit of the doubt to this person and say they didn't know. they really just thought taking my work and re-uploading it because i took it down so they, and everyone else, can more easily access it, was fine.

you can go on discord, tiktok, or tumblr. ask someone. google, even. spend like, 15 minutes and you'll find a copy of black mass. i promise you.

i can't even say i'm flattered that they loved and wanted to read the fic so much that they re-uploaded it. the allure of holding something that's wanted out of greedy hands left long ago when I was getting rape threats, encouraged to kill myself, my family was threatened, my friends were harassed, etc. etc. etc.

if I could toss black mass to the fishes and rid myself of it, at this point, I would.

what really gets to me, and pisses me off beyond measure, is the intent to orphan the fic after they had fully uploaded it.

which is so fucking insane it actually made my head spin. knowing that this person intended to upload my deleted work and then orphan it, forever setting it adrift to where I would have no authority, agency, or control over it. something I wrote. i would have then had to reach out to ao3, and honestly, I don't know what they would have said.

it's fantastic that they were going to let go of it after because it doesn't belong to them and they don't want credit for it....insane. that it doesn't belong to them but they were going to make such a permanent decision with stolen work. i think of that, and my lack of standing up for myself in the past and the last time someone fucked with my work, when someone stole every man makes a god, copied/rewrote it, and posted it as their own, and I do not feel bad about coming on here and saying my peace.

because i refuse to stay silent and allow anyone to play the 'i didn't know card' which is why I always tried to stand up for myself, even if I didn't do the best job.

and honestly, they took the fic down. i have no doubt they understood at that point the mistake they had made, but I unfortunately cannot say I am surprised that there are people who have no concept of etiquette, letting things be, or entitlement. if there is one thing i know from being in the fandom, it is that. whether it be from feigned ignorance or a lack of awareness. whatever it is, the marauders fandom...truly one of a kind, y'all. there will never be another one like it. there are pockets of joy, but they are so very quickly overshadowed in the minds of some of the people who write your god tier fics, when you do things like this.

i am not an idiot. there is nothing I can do to reclaim my work. the only sliver left is my old name, greenvlvetcouch, which i left as well, attached to the work. the fact that i wrote it. it is mine. i wrote all 250k of those words. i spent hundreds, thousands of hours on that.

and then i took it down, so if you're going to be righteous dickheads, at least do it under the table. you can win your 'you put it on the internet' argument, you are not wrong. i did, but I've removed it and if you reupload it, attempt to chain me to the damn fic forever and immortalize it, so far beyond just...passing around pdfs, then I'll come on here and say something.

don't be this guy. have a tad bit of decency. that can be hard, I can only assume, but I can also assume if you're itching for black mass so bad you can't just make due like everyone else and need to read it on ao3, then you like the fic! that's awesome, but don't hail something I wrote then turn around and spit in my face.

i do not think it has to be said you do not re-upload other's work. ask, if you must, but we do not assume.

i have nothing else to say on the matter, this post will stay here. so, once again, if anyone needs to tap the sign, there is one to tap.

i love the headcanon that james runs warm regulus runs cold so they're perfect together BUT what if it's the other way around.

james is this big cuddly looking strong guy and he is constantly FREEZING. he's so touchy not just because he likes touch but because literally everybody is warmer than him. he grabs regulus or lily or mary or pandora or remus's hand (any of his friends. any of them) and they immediately jump bc his hand is so cold.

then there's regulus. he's tiny and frail and everyone is always telling him to bring a jacket because he'll freeze but he WON'T. he's out in the snow in a long-sleeved t-shirt and slacks and nothing else and he's FINE. he might even roll the sleeves up.

when jegulus gets together james gets even clingier than usual the second he realizes how warm regulus is. people tell reg to bring a jacket when he goes out in the cold and he brings one for james. all of his hoodies are oversized b/c gender dysphoria (me too man, me too) and james steals them because they fit him perfectly.

Hi! Just wanted to bring awareness to something I see frequently and just saw now. Pxrty-crxsher took Jegulus art from Novak Rouge (on Instagram), who explicitly says on their profile not to repost anywhere and posted it here. As far as I can tell, Novak doesn't have a tumblr. The only account I found on here has dissimilar art styles and subjects, and theirs no linked account on their insta. I'm not interacting with posts with stolen art, as it just feeds people to continue reblogging it. It literally took one google search to find Novak's art account, and based on that search, it's not posted anywhere else that one could easily stumble upon. I'm not jumping to the conclusion that this person purposefully stole it, as I don't know. But finding the artist to credit them, and therefore finding that they don't want their art reposted, is as easy as one-two. It's shit to do this to artists. It's shit to do to the community. It makes content creators not want to create. Don't fucking do that. Its that simple.

I tried reporting it to get it taken down, but there's only so much one person can do. Thanks for reading 🩵
