I support lgbtq people kissing and expressing their sexuality in their own safespaces and events (and in general public; I'm all for public displays of affection by people of any genders and orientations). I have seen asexual people saying gay people should leave sexual talk and expression out of lgbtq spaces so asexual people feel more comfortable. I understand this dilemma and how asexual people may feel out of place in lgbtq spaces just like in general society because of not being sexual/as sexual as the average person, both cishet and lgbtq, but lgbtq spaces and events should be safe spaces for lgbtq people to express their sexuality, something that in 2021, they are still judged and mocked for and still feel out of place about when everyone around them is heterosexual and talking about "straight sex/relationships." I'm not sex favorable but am sex positive and support everyone expressing their sexuality, especially gay people in their own safespaces. If gay people can't safely express their sexuality in their own spaces then where? Gay people have already been oppressed in general society for their sexuality, they should never be oppressed in their own community for it. The sexual aspect of being gay, for those who have a sexual aspect, which is most gay people, is valid. The point of the lgbtq community is for everyone to be able to embrace, celebrate, and express their identity whether they have a sexual aspect or don't have one. Let's not omit sexuality just so some people feel more comfortable when it's part of someone else's identity and important to them. Sex repulsion is valid but judging someone else's sexuality and erasure of it, is not. 💜💕
for the record this blog is pro-pink stripe in the rainbow flag
Tumblr media
Gilbert Baker was a gay man. he grew up in a society where sex between two men was pathologized, stigmatized, and illegal (google united states sodomy laws). and it still is.
mlm have every right to express their sexuality and take pride in their sex life, whatever that entails. and Gilbert Baker, a gay man, had every right to include that in the flag he designed for our community.
the pink stripe being removed due to manufacturing conflicts is not some kind of "win" for the asexual community. the pink stripe is not exclusion of asexuals. some asexuals have sex and not every allosexual has sex. everyone has a relationship to sex, regardless of whether you have it or not.
in a society where the sexuality of all LBGTQ people is stigmatized, the pink stripe is an appropriate aspect of the flag for our community.

exclutionists don't fucking touch this post. i am an asexual who stands in solidarity with my gay brethren, and this post is not for your agenda.

Welcome to the sixth edition of #AggressivelyArospecWeek!
#AggressivelyArospecWeek (#AAW) is a week-long event promoting the creation of arospec fancontent by arospec creators.
Our event aims to create a space where arospec creators are free to explore their identities through fanwork. We believe that fandom is a great way to share our passions, our interests and to empower one another in our arospec identities. All while having loads of fun!
Please join us from June 20 to June 26 2021 and enjoy a small explosion of arospec fancontent. You’re welcome to submit any type of content for the event, whether it be fanfic, headcanons, mixtapes, fanart,… Anything goes!
Any content you submit has to be centered around a character’s arospec identity (whether that character is canonically arospec or you headcanon them as so.) Content can be about any fandom whatsoever!
To submit, please make a new post during the event week and tag it as #AggressivelyArospecWeek, or submit your work directly to our blog through the ask and submission boxes. Your post will then be reblogged on the Aggressively Arospec blog.
We also have a Twitter account, so use the hashtags #AggressivelyArospecWeek and #AAW21 if you tweet about your work on there. You can also mention us in your tweet to be sure we don’t miss it and can retweet it. Do submit through tumblr if you can, however, since that is the best way to get your contribution archived with all the others.
Lastly, a collection will be opened on Archive of our Own to round up all the fanfics posted on there.
We can’t wait to see what you have in store for us this year!
(For more information, check out our About page or our FAQ section. If you need some inspiration, you can also check out the content that was created during out previous events in our #AggressivelyArospecWeek tag.)

As much as I love posts that are like "not all aroallos are predatory and only want sex", I think we could maybe do with more posts that are like "only wanting sex isn't inherently predatory in the first place"

There's lots of posts about how you can still be in a relationship if you're aro, aro relationships are as deep as romance, qprs are valid etc (which I 100% agree with, aros in relationships are rad!!)
But we seem to be lacking somewhat in posts about how it's alright to never want to be in any kind of relationship, how it's very valid and sexy to want to be alone, and how you don't need to be in any relationship or be okay with being in ANY relationship to be a valuable person.
Anyway aros who don't want any kind of relationship ever y'all are dope

💚💚💚 Introduction post! My name is Kim. I'm a cisgender woman with she/her pronouns. 35 years old. I'm aromantic & asexual, born this way, single & celibate since birth. I am an oriented aroace with "lesbian leanings." I support all asexual/aromantic people, including those who were not born this way and feel they have a specific reason for being aro/ace and ones who do experience sexual attraction but have another reason for identifying as ace. We are equally valid.
I am very sex positive but not sex favorable. I think risque jokes are hilarious and don't mind sexual content, just don't engage in it myself. I support *all* identities. I created this account to follow ace/aro and lgbtqiap+ content and share some myself to break up some of this heteronormativity that is shoved down all our throats in person and on social media. Other identities exist, not just cis heterosexuality, and are equally valid. I want to celebrate and bring visibility to them. 💜💜💜 🏳️‍🌈 💚💚💚 I love people and animals and glitch art! I am shy but social. Not introverted. Am always uplifted around people. ❤️
