i'd like to imagine greg as a puppetmaster and sam as a cheeky little puppet. the gepetto to his (sam voice) pinocchiooooo. kind of in a father figure way but like. not really? at the same time?
meanwhile i am imagining the sues in like. a period drama situation where susan is a debutante and sue is the agent of chaos who crashes the party and sweeps her off her feet. julie d'aubigny style.
tm s16 is. truly the homoerotic tension season.

I love how Jack is always seen as the horny, always-thinking-about-sex-one, so you’d think it was him that initiated sex w Ianto (esp since they were flirting lightly in the first episode) but in the broken audio Jack is like. No. We need to talk about this Ianto. We need to have a serious discussion.
And it’s Ianto who’s like… 🥺 actually sir I think we should start fucking 👉👈
#also see: ianto initiating in coe day 3 only to get blocked by baked beans#ianto is a young man in his mid 20s with the libido to match so#torchwood#janto

I have to take a moment to appreciate this.
This is the moment Sherlock Holmes watched Watson leaving the Reichenbach Falls. You can see clearly there are tears in his eyes. I am so moved. The Granada Sherlock Holmes is such a treasure.
When reading the same scene from the book, the text gave me a feeling that his only concern was if they could find out the truth when watching Watson and the investigators, and he felt relieved when they left. This is how it goes:
"There I was stretched when you, my dear Watson, and all your following were investigating in the most sympathetic and inefficient manner the circumstances of my death...At last, when you had all formed your inevitable and totally erroneous conclusions, you departed for the hotel and I was left alone."
There is not much emotion in his narrative. It reads to me that at the moment the only thing he had in his mind was to conceal himself and not be found alive. His heart had no room, or so I perceived from the text, for the sorrow of Watson.
But in this show, on seeing Watson desperately looking for him and calling his name, he almost responded, but soon restrained himself.
When Watson saw his notes and started to cry, his eyes started to get tearful. He moved his eyes from Watson and took a few breaths to calm himself.
The show keeps the line of Holmes joking about how Watson and the investigators' very inefficient and erroneous investigations. He was still enjoying the scene and smiled. However, we can all see how sad he was in the meantime.
After that Watson finally left. He just stayed there and watched his dear Watson leave with tears welling in his eyes, but never fell. Just look at him: he was really struggling inside.
I watched this part so many times, it is just incredible.
This show added a lot of interesting details to make the story more logically coherent and added more depth to the characters. Sherlock Holmes explaining his fake death in the original was merely focused on the narrative and the events themselves, but this, this very scene created by the show, is pure gold.
#oh and holmes calling out for watson was jeremy brett's idea#which is just the loveliest thing#granada holmes
