I know I just posted that Kris and soul artwork literally a minute ago but I just realized something.

I see a lot of people defending Toriel not worrying about Kris, saying that Hometown is safe and there's barely any crime and she's allowed to have fun. There's a lot of reasons why I disagree with that, but that's not what I realized.

Kris has their own knife, but they don't have keys to their own house.

Toriel allowed Kris to have their own knife, but didn't give them keys to their own house.

And you can say, "Oh, but Kris was in Noelle's house she probably thinks Kris would be fine and just go there."

But she still didn't give them their own keys to their own freaking house.

Kris carries a knife with them more than they carry the keys to their own freaking house, because Toriel either didn't give them their own copy or didn't give them the keys while they were apart in case Kris went home earlier than her.

I had a thought a while back, and I'm not sure if people have talked about it. This could also be a reach because I have very shaky evidence to back it up, but.

We all know Dess is a musical prodigy. It's mentioned a few times in Chapter 4, and her guitar is still in the Holidays' house. There's also implications with the posters in her room that she wanted to start a band or was in a band.

Now hear me out for a bit.

Kris doesn't just know how to play the piano. They're very good at it. So good at it that, even with the soul ripped from their chest, they're still doing such an amazing job. I'm not sure how different playing the piano from an organ is, but they know how to play both instruments. Alvin I think mentions it in Chapter 1 that they would play the organ during service.

They also most likely know how to play the guitar. Tenna gave them the guitar during the rhythm game sequence. Evidence is shaky because I don't think Susie knows how to play the drums, but Tenna still gave Susie drums. But if Tenna knows Kris on an almost personal level, then that means he knows Kris is at least good with a guitar.

Kris is good with at least two instruments, and yet there is no visible musical instrument in the Dreemurr household. Maybe there's one in Toriel's room, but I don't know why she'd keep it there. But other than that, we don't see any musical instruments. We don't even see a keyboard.

But you know who does have a piano?

The Holiday Family.

They have a grand piano in their house. A piano that Kris was comfortable enough to use even though Noelle said no one has played it in a long time. And she was just outside. She and Susie definitely heard Kris play.

With all that said.

Dess must have taught Kris how to play both the piano and maybe the guitar.

Heres how I guess things went. Whenever Asriel and Kris go to the Holidays' house, she would teach Kris how to play the piano and maybe also teach them how to play the organ after church services. And whenever Dess and Noelle are in the Dreemurr household, Dess would bring her guitar and perhaps also teach Kris how to play it. And that's why Tenna knew to give Kris the guitar during the rhythm game.

And she most likely taught Kris how to play the piano because she wanted to start a band with Asriel, Kris, and maybe Noelle. Asriel was the best singer in the church choir, and as we see in Chapter 4, Noelle can also sing.

Kris most likely got their musical talent from Dess, who wanted to start a band with her sister and childhood friends.

My dear lgbt+ kids, 

Here are some very, very boring reminders - not because the topic isn’t important but because it gets quite tiring that bi women (including all women who are attracted to more than one gender here) still have to deal with these assumptions and stereotypes: 

Bi people CAN date people of multiple genders. That’s kinda, like, the whole point. 

No, a bi woman dating a man isn’t „going back into the closet“ or „proving she just came out for attention“. Still bi. Still queer. 

No, a bi woman dating a man isn’t „proof they’ll always end up chasing dick“. That’s a gross and weird thing to say about another person, and it shows a weirdly penis-centric worldview on *your* part, not hers. 

Real human beings are not fictional characters, so let’s not place expectations on them that only make sense in fandom. You can headcanon a fictional girl as your lesbian icon even though she’s bi in canon. But going „I wanted her to be a lesbian icon“ about a real human celebrity is just weird. You don’t get to decide other people’s identity. 

Real human beings can’t be „bad representation“. Dating a man isn’t bad representation anyway. It’s morally neutral. 

Lesbians aren’t somehow morally superior or better feminists than bi women. Feminism is about believing in and working for gender equality, not about which genitalia you touch. 

„But (insert celebrity here) actually sucks“. Okay! Maybe she does! I don’t care. If you’re happy to have an example of a „bad“ woman at hand, you need to critically evaluate your beliefs. Not only on bi women but on women in general.

every so often the discourse comes around again that basically boils down to “is it feminist for a woman to want men to be attracted to her” and it’s like. no, it’s not. it’s also not anti feminist. it’s not relevant. it’s nothing. a woman wanting to have sex with men has nothing to do with feminism. being a lesbian or celibate is not “more feminist” than being a straight woman. the point was always “women should not have to dress in a way that is attractive to men solely in order to be acknowledged by them at all” not “women should never dress in a way that is attractive to men for any reason.” sometimes a woman wants men to want to have sex with her. that’s not anti feminist. that’s average. it’s also not feminist just because it’s her choice to do it. it is not related. feminism is about women’s human rights. that doesn’t mean it’s a feminist act every time a woman makes a choice.
