Gf and I are re-watching Midnight Mass and trying to cast for brothers Lynch & Co. Our current roster is:

Riley - Ronan

Erin - Adam

Ed (Riley's Dad) - Declan

Warren (Riley's Brother) - Matthew

Father Paul - Gansey

Bev - Blue

Sturge - Noah

The Flynns/Lynches are just trying to rebuild and repair their family in the wake of crisis.

The church vibes are still there, but with a touch more occult. Team Father Paul/Gansey, being so enraptured by the supernatural. With Bev/Blue and Sturge/Noah helping to make the the miracle happen.

Chaos ensues.

Prokopenko thoughts:

Whether Prokopenko was a Kavinsky original or a forgery, Kavinsky dreamt him.

Made this version of him.

So, by all rights, Proko should be *perfect* for K.

But he isn't; and that's the biggest tragedy for them both.

Kavinsky can make these incredible copies of a person, but even when molding them to be perfect for him, they lack the parts that he himself doesn't know he needed.

Which is why I LOVE the idea that K absolutely loves Proko, but Ronan is the one who's PERFECT for him.

And Proko knows it.

But who is he without his dreamer?

Joseph Kavinsky thoughts:

I REALLY love the idea that his birthday *is* July 4th.

I don't see his family as being too patriotic for any part of their American heritage, whatever that may be, so it has no significance in that sense. But it embodies so many of K's favorite things: freedom, sick-ass fireworks, celebration/connection with people/an excuse to get wasted and let yourself get lost in the feeling of it all. (Again, without the hyper/gross/gaudy American patriotism--the *actual* concepts).

But it's also bittersweet, because it's when he came into the world, and his parents don't view it as anything special. It's a reminder that no matter how much of an effort he makes to surround himself with people, to make himself the life of the party, he's still fundamentally alone. Not understood.

And my god, I'm a sucker for angst, so Kavinsky going out in a blaze of glory on the day of his birth--and consequently, the day of his death...it's just too painful and good.
