things that should be completly normal:
not going to uni
taking as much time as needed before going to uni
changing your majors many times before finding what you like
changing your career path
not knowing what you want
attending a community college
valuing your health over your grades

30/100 days of productivity (22/5/2020)
i walked up to sham castle today and sat in the shade while catching up on handmaid's tale annotations and oml it was so relaxing to be out in the green, looking out over the view of bath while sitting in the shadow of a 250 year old fake castle. feeling a little more chill about everything now 🌷

the place I work at has a ton of stationery, so it takes a lot of willpower not to buy all of it

Laptop Recommendations Please
Hello everyone! I’ve decided to go back to the school in the fall but I *NEED* a better laptop. I’m currently using the HP Stream 11 & while its pretty, it’s super slow & has NO space.
What would y’all recommend? I’m only going to be using it for school & I have an open budget. Thanks! 😊😊😊

I just finished up my first year of college and there are some tips I’ve seen going around that just aren’t true or at least didn’t work for me. So, here is the advice I wish I had.
1. Read. Your. Syllabus. Trust me on this, sometimes professors hide assignments and free points in the fine print to check if students actually read it. Don’t miss free points.
2. Extra credit isn’t very common, do it if you have the time.
3. You might not get along with your roommate, so learn how to compromise. Don’t spend the whole semester fighting with them.
4. Avoid people and activities that you don’t feel comfortable with. This is your time, don’t waste it on things that bring you down.
5. Early classes aren’t as bad as people make them out to be. I’ve had class start earlier than 8:00 each semester and I loved it. I’m not a morning person either, so that’s saying something.
6. Schedule classes at times that you feel most focused. There is nothing worse than going to lecture and accidentally falling asleep.
7. Go. To. Class. You are paying for them.
8. Try to eat somewhat healthy. Don’t be that person who eats pizza every day of the week.
9. Try to get enough sleep. Sometimes it’s not possible, but if you have the chance, take it.
10. Take advantage of student discounts.
11. Have a water bottle on you at all times. Dehydration is no joke.
12. Changing majors is completely fine! I ended up hating my major and switched to a different and I am so, so much happier.
13. If college isn’t for you, that is also fine. Do what is best for you.
14. Similar to above, if you don’t like your college, but still want to get a degree, transferring is a great option. I can’t speak from personal experience on this one, but I know people who have and it has made all the difference for them.
15. Don’t feel pressured to party and/or drink. If you want to that’s fine, but watch your deadlines and gpa.
16. Take advantage of free events put on by your college. Mine has movie screenings and all sorts of events.
17. Dorms aren’t that bad. I actually really liked mine and the rooms were a decent size.
18. Don’t pack more than you need and don’t buy everything off of those “what you need for college” lists. If you’ve never used something in your life, you probably won’t use it in college.
19. Start studying for exams at least a couple days in advance.
20. Past exams and practice exams are your best friend. They make studying so much easier.
21. Buy shower shoes.
22. If you’re having trouble in a subject, use your resources. There are tutors and hundreds of online videos and resources to help.
23. Studying the day of the exam isn’t helpful, it just stresses you out.
24. Try and get some exercise. Even just stretching for a couple minutes helps.
25. Make time for yourself.
26. A couple good friends can go a long way, you don’t have to have a big group.
27. Imposter syndrome is very real, but everyone is thinking the same thing so try not to worry about it too much.
28. Have fun.
I’m sure I missed some points here so feel free to add your tips to this list.

Update!
Hey y’all!
I just wanted to post a quick update & let everyone know I haven’t completely abandoned this blog. I’ve just been taking a break since I dropped out of my paralegal studies program earlier this year. I decided that working in law just wasn’t the right fit for me and I’ve been struggling to decide what I wanna study/do with my life.
I’ve been spending my time trying to find my passion by trying new things and by researching and learning more about different careers and college majors that seem interesting to me.
So until I return to college, I will refrain from posting to this blog but I will continue to reblog helpful college advice and such for y’all. Thanks for sticking around! I’ll see you when I get back, and I will be back. :)

Random College Tip #4
I just had a classmate email me with a question she had regarding the assignment we had to complete for class. She couldn't find a specific set of information she needed to finish the assignment so I replied with the information she needed.
My advice is this: Don't be afraid to reach out to your fellow classmates if you have a question! Of course the information may not always be reliable, but it helps if the professor isn't responding in a timely manner to your emails.
Also, if a classmate asks for your help, make sure you help them find the answer, don't just tell them. For example, I gave the classmate the page number where the information was located in our textbooks so she could find it herself and double check that my information was correct.

I have been making study notes for my landlord and tenant law class, and making these mind maps has made it so much easier to understand the concepts that my teacher covered so quickly! My mindmaps are not the prettiest, but they are doing their job well!
My desk space is also quite messy lol. Candlewick cutters beside my candles, and the wire from my headphone wrapped around a dark chocolate Bueno bar. Very studious.
