Little fanfic things that make me smile:

When there’s a set of specific and intricate detail work and you just know the author is either drawing from life experience and knowledge, or that they spent a long time researching to get it just right.

A reframing of a well known metaphor or simile that makes you think of it in a new way. 

An original metaphor or simile that you pause and admire for a while because it’s such a sweet turn of phrase.

Dialogue that you can hear perfectly because the phrasing is so on point. 

The obvious love and care the author has for the character dynamics, plot and/or setting that shines through in every word, sentence and paragraph.

Crossover ideas (Merlin X Harry Potter)

Merlin turns Camelot into Hogwarts, and creates the Mirror of Erised. The mirror shows Merlin his friends, but eventually it starts showing two versions of each soul, it takes Merlin a while but he figures out that they are magical reincarnation of everyone he knew in Camelot. Merlin helps create Hogwarts to gather his now magical friends into one place, also Merlin starts making portraits of every reincarnation to track their appearances until he fills the halls of the new school. One day the original souls fade scaring Merlin until the newest reincarnations remember Camelot, though something went wrong with Arthur his previous reincarnation split his soul so now there are two Arthur's running around ( Tom Riddle and Harry Potter.) Tom had glimpses of Camelot and didn't want to lose Merlin again so he split his soul to be immortal like Merlin is , but Harry is the true Arthur thus their connection and the reason why Tom went to kill Harry he wanted to be the True Arthur.

Fanfiction ideas for Harry Potter and the Philosiphers Stone

1. Dumbledore places a ward around restricted section for Harry knowing the possibility of the horcrux taking the boy over. Watches as Harry sneaks into restricted section in first year, think a it's voldemorts soul, Dumbledore has one more test and that is the Mirror of Erised. Dumbledore watches as Harry stares longingly into the Mirror and is relieved when he hears Harry say "mum, dad" 2. Voldemorts thoughts on Harry giving Quirrel supportive smiles , maybe Quirrel telling voldemorts about the creepy kid giving him thumbs up . 3. For the 2 weeks or so that Harry is being ignored and bullied by the entirety of the Gryffindor house the Horcrux being so close to the main soul uses this time to activate and make a connection to Harry.
