This is the Third time I’ve lived through the brutality of hunger its harshness, its silence.

I walk through the streets of the city and find nothing to feed my children.

🩸The first time was last year, when I documented my situation holding onto a piece of bread after over a month of deprivation.

🩸The second time was 6 months ago when I brought some flour for my family and I was very tired because it was a very long walk.

can twst fae steal names like yuu and the good neighbors? Is yes, is it illegal now?

...Will Yuu steal anyone else's name?

Yes at least in Like Lark Notes From the Sky (though I have an ongoing crack theory/headcanon going that that's the reason Malleus didn't want to tell us his name in the earlier chapters and opted to use a nickname instead because he didn't want to go through all the hassle of finding verbal loopholes, he's a Draconia after all, not only would someone stealing his name be Very Very Bad {and also make the Thorn Fairy claw her way out of her burial mound just to give her descendants a piece of her mind} but also he was taught he's above the entire thing. Just an ongoing headcanon of mine though lol). There's some technicalities to it that I'll touch more on when we actually get conversations going between the Diasomnia cast and Yuu because they are very different types of fae and Yuu's case is an outlier even within their own species and thus they work on very different sets of rules and morality.

On the spirit of keeping with fae legalese I'll just say this: technically everything's legal so long as you don't get caught and no one outs you :)

Headcanon that the first years would all die for each other.

And I don't mean "if we go down we go down together" type shit I mean physically fighting each other for the chance to die so the others live.

Situation: One of them has to be a sacrifice so the others go free and they have to choose who gets thrown off the cliff.

Ace immediately starts running towards the edge because fuck these people are more than friends to him this is the family he always wanted growing up and he'll never admit it to anyone but he'd lose his mind if anything ever happened to them...

Only to immediately get dragged back by Jack who will protect his friends like they're his little siblings and will not let anything bad happen to them if he can help it. He never wants to see any of them die so help him, so he'll take the fall...

But then Epel fucking pounces on him, knocking him down to the ground because he'll be damned if he loses the only people outside of his family that have ever truly accepted him for who he is and support him no matter what. No one will take the fall accept him...

And then Deuce comes in to pull ahead because he knows that he can't just let all of these people around him die just so he could live. They all deserved better, so he'll take the fall and redeem himself, proving that he is everything his mother thought he was...

Which is stopped by Sebek pushing him to the ground to sacrifice himself instead. Whether he liked it or not, he's grown attached to all of these people around him, and even though he had loyalties to Malleus, his friends mattered more in this moment. Besides, he still had Silver and Lilia, and he was sure that he wouldn't be missed terribly...

Ortho is quick to stop Sebek and offer himself up instead however. Given that the original him already died, his brother could just make a new version of himself for everyone, and he doesn't want anyone else in his friend group to suffer the same fate that he, or rather, the original him did...

Yuu quickly pulls Ortho back and starts running towards the edge because if they lose even one of their only ties to sanity in this world they might as well be dead since they'll probably be stuck in Twisted Wonderland forever anyway. They'll take the fall if it means everyone else can survive...

But then Ace trips them and the cycle continues and the gang somehow end up tangled in a pile trying to fight each other for the honor of dying for each other. Whoever threatened them is too distracted and taken out by the housewardens, who are horrified to learn about their first years' lack of self preservation instincts when it comes to each other, but they're all alive so everyone's happy.

TLDR Housewardens: if one of you jumped off a cliff would the rest of you? First years: *thousand yard stare* Housewardens: HEY NO-

who were/was the fae that adopted the knight of dawn ?

Three members from the Diurnal Fairies (the same ones he calls out to in game when facing Meleanor for example) at least in Like Lark Notes From the Sky and we'll get more into them there. The Knight of the Dawn in Like Lark Notes was an orphan, yes, but he was taken in by the fae for a period of his life before he was sent to the Leia's and Henrick's kingdom; every choice about his story is very deliberate and there's some twisted (hah) mirroring between his inspirations and my own personal headcanons/crack theories about his entire deal, about how the system in the kingdom might have worked back then to try and make the fae war timeline make sense with what Lilia gave us, as well as how the fae in Twisted Wonderland might work because the thing about writing a character that's peripheral to the main story is that you kind of have no choice but to fill in the gaps yourself and it's definitely a challenge, but I've been doing my best to keep it coherent/at least a little realistic ^^.

are fae similar/the same as the fae from yuu's world or are fae back home more 'wild'/old ?

In Like Lark Notes the Twisted Wonderland Fae have some similarities/common points, but since Twisted Wonderland while still being unforgiving it's still a 'kinder' world, so they evolved differently (generally you'll find slightly more wild fae in the Night Fae {aka Briar Valley/Diasomnia} than in the Diurnal Fae, there's a reason for that and we also see in the game that Lilia would probably be the best example of that 'wildness' back in the war), but the Fae from Yuu's are definitely more 'wild' and old and as a result more disconnected from humanity. Yuu had a rough go of it in their younger years even with Soleil there (especially since you can technically attribute the death of Yuu's human mother to them, which they never quite forgave their own kin about even if they don't have the choice to reject them and they've been at a stalemate about it for a long time.) That's a bit of nuance we'll get more into in Like Lark Notes itself.

Do you have any plans to write about the playful land event ? Also any thoughts about it ?

Yes, I have plans to write about as many of the events as I can in between the Like Lark Notes arcs before we get to the final act (mostly because I don't want parts of Books 8 to wreck my outline again the same way parts of Book 7 did). If I have to say anything about Playful Land in Like Lark Notes is that it's probably the third straw before the camel's back breaks for Yuu and in turn for Soleil (because trying to turn being so disconnected from humanity that can see through lies and deception carrying another soul in their existence that has a ton of unaddressed trauma and PTSD that he was just starting to recover from thanks to amnesia and Isekai shenanigans and basically relapsed into a wooden puppet, is a very, very bad idea and will not be fun for anyone involved), the other ones being Fairy Gala and Glorious Masquerade.

It's been a while since I read it so forgive me if my memory's foggy, but for me Playful Land feels like it could have been stronger simply because we glossed over Fellow's actions too quickly (like yes, he had Gino in the equation and I honestly can kind of squint and see where he's coming from {listen, education is expensive in my country okay?}, but also he did just help with a black market all for the sake of profit for who knows how long, I can respect the hustle but also my guy we need some proper consequences for you) and that honestly just makes me sigh because I expected more out of the event most tangentially related to Pinocchio (as someone who grew up both with the original story and the Disney movie) and I just feel like the overall resolution could have been better, otherwise it was an enjoyable event but not really the strongest narrative-wise for me. Doesn't mean I won't write it in for Like Lark Notes (because the outline and Yuu's arc kind of demands it) it's just not my favorite of the Halloween events lol.

is there any character or event you dislike?

I have some complicated feelings about Playful Land (because I feel like it could be stronger narratively and I feel like we just glossed over Fellow's role in all of it too quickly) but no actual dislike towards the events (some of them can be stronger, but otherwise they're all very enjoyable), I do deeply dislike Riddle's Mother (surprise to no one lol) Henrick and the Fae Senate especially and I'll admit that Neige's posse annoys me to no end (though that feeling doesn't quite extend to Neige, mostly because I had to reexamine his character for my fic to write the set up for the Pomefiore arc) but no actual dislike towards the NCR Crew and the like.

Mostly because all of the boys have their good points and their bad points and we essentially meet them at their lowest/most extreme, they all can and have knowingly done wrong but there's heart beneath it all and even if I can't agree with all of it I can see where they're coming from and the same goes for the staff. Plus I like my characters morally gray/just tipping slightly over into a roulette wheel of morality ^^, which is actually what compelled me to try and expand on the Knight of Dawn in the first place, he's probably the only character in the game that's an analogue of a 'good character' (possibly filling in the role of another no less, I'll get to that after we close a certain arc in Like Lark Notes because it's heavy spoilers for him and Yuu) that's a good person at his core being forced to do some frankly heinous stuff for arguably selfish reasons (depending on how much autonomy you give him), which is something his original inspirations never would have done knowingly and that makes him really interesting to explore.

you know I hope there's one day a fic with a selkie or bird maiden yuu. That would be such an interesting thing to Explorer, especialy given the myths about them. Or just a Yuu that isn't human. Grimm is considered a monster despite being sentiant, not sure if in twst beings that are clasified as monsters have the same rights as humans,beastfolk, fae,... Like what if yuu was a gorgon, rusalka, lamia, arachne, kinnari,.. they could hide by pretending to be a regular human but imagine if beings like that are eighter not allowed near population or just hunter or extinct

Like Lark Notes is technically about a non-human Yuu (it's more akin to say they wear humanity like one would a mask, The Knight of the Dawn being on the opposite end of the spectrum) but I definitely get where you're coming from! You could do a lot with Selkie or even Bird Maiden Yuu (Swan Maidens definitely come to mind) as well as other mythological beings. The relationship between humanity, beastman, merfolk, fae and monsters in TWST is really interesting to me especially because it's such a fine line to walk and there's a lot of potential there and honestly I'd love more stories with non-human Yuu ^^.

which arc are you the most exited to write about ?

Depends if we're talking first half, second half or events.

If we're talking first half: Octavinelle (I'm definitely having a lot of fun plotting out how Yuu, Leona, Azul and the Leech Twins will interact. As well as some fun stuff between Soleil and some of the Night Raven staff as well as Diasomnia members.)

Second half: Tie between Ignihyde and Diasomnia.

Events: A tie between Fairy Gala (for lore reasons) and Glorious Masquerade (anyone who knows any bit about the link between irish history, mythology and religion will probably have a good guess why, a little factoid: at least half of the Lebor Gábala Érenn starts with the actual Book of Genesis {*laughs hysterically in I just wanted to do research for my fic and next thing I know the medieval monks attacked*}, I really wish I was joking, there's some stuff going on).

will yuu or anyone else have a romantic relationship in the fic ?

It's complicated, hence why I left it undisclosed lol, though there might be other relationships developing along the way. I prefer to let the relationships that will show up develop naturally while keeping in mind some aspects from actual mythology related to the fae as well as Yuu's and Soleil's experiences (with Soleil being amnesiac on top of it and the closest thing he ever experienced being Leia, who in this au he had a very complicated relationship with due to the nuances behind his existence and his relationship with her and his entire situation with the Istevans and it's not like he's going to fully remember that for a long time, he ain't gonna have the full picture until at least Book 6). Not to mention their framework for romantic relationships doesn't exactly Match what would usually be assumed in Twisted Wonderland or even our world, they're too disconnected from what would be defined as romance and kind of just have different priorities right now. We'll have to wait and see (though the mature tag isn't for anything explicit romance wise mind, it's mostly because violence and passion go hand in hand and Yuu is not above acts of violence and I thought it better to leave a warning in case anyone is squeamish, Soleil is the neat one and Yuu is the messy one plus intimacy can come in many forms lol).
