Because I'm a bit of a stupid person, a few months ago I created a blog where I wanted to specifically put my illustrations (especially from Final Fantasy), except that my subscriptions, likes etc, are necessarily linked to my main blog ... Not great for sharing. So I just renamed and redesigned the main blog, so that it has my name "Ael Kurai". So don't be surprised if you see me reblogging my old posts from one blog to another. I finally finished this illustration, all the details took me quite a bit of time, but what a joy to finally create a full illustration of Vincent! I really like what was added to his costume in Rebirth, I find it more coherent, and it makes him even classier ♥ (even if I'm not objective)

VINCENT'S FINALLY COMING TO EVER CRISIS (JULY 2024)

For whatever reason, they decided to not give him his Rebirth design, and instead gave him his AC/DoC design instead. According to the interview, they chose to mix all of his designs together.... unlike every other main character in EC who have their Remake/Rebirth outfits. Very interesting design choice. Maybe it has to do with how Vincent sorta transcends time aka his immortality?

Also interesting that they chose to also give Galian a more DoC design instead of Rebirth. Almost like they avoided Rebirth's design completely. Sus.

When I started writing again, and I imagined a spicy scene between Vincent and Cid, this vision haunted me. So I wrote it down, I drew it. I'm not completely satisfied with the lighting, but I hope I managed to convey the atmosphere I wanted.

Last weekend I did a little expression exercise, and it came across Cid… Because I think there isn't enough drawing of Cid Highwind, even though there is so much potential ♥ Well, on the other hand, his glasses… what hell! *****

Le week end dernier j'ai fait un petit exercice d'expression, et c'est tombé sur Cid… Parce que je trouve qu'il n'y a pas assez de dessin de Cid Highwind, alors qu'il y a tellement de potentiel ♥ Bon par contre ses lunettes… quel enfer!

Lineart of my new illustration of Vincent Valentine.

The position as well as the details of her outfit were a huge challenge for me. The character design is based on FF7 Rebirth which I find incredible and very accomplished.

Next step, colorization.
