i am real fired up right now and so are a lot of people and that is a good thing because this fight needs our energy. i hope that we keep that energy for fighting for comprehensive reproductive rights, because the fight is so much bigger than just roe.
prison abolition is a reproductive rights issue. prisoners are still coercively sterilized. pregnant people in prisons receive substandard prenatal care and are more likely to miscarry or have premature birth. birthing parents in prison can be forced to deliver while shackled to their beds. birthing parents in prisons can be separated from their babies postpartum and not allowed to breastfeed.
us imperialism is a reproductive rights issue. for decades the us forcibly sterilized women in puerto rico -- approximately one third of the entire female population. the us's war on iraq has poisoned the environment so much that many children are born with severe birth defects, often stillborn or only surviving a short time.
black liberation is a reproductive rights issue. preterm births for black birthing parents is 50% higher than for all other races combined. black birthing parents are three times more likely to die in childbirth than white parents.
settler colonialism is a reproductive rights issue. the us has a LONG legacy of taking children from indigenous families and trafficking them to white families. this continues to this day, with native families up to four times more likely to have their children removed and placed into foster care.
we won't have reproductive justice until we have a world where people have freedom, safety, and the material stability to make their own choices without coercion.
we won't have reproductive justice until people's decisions about their bodies and their families come without the crushing pressures of poverty, lack of healthcare, war and colonization.
we won't have reproductive justice until we are all free.

another traumagenic system weighing in; we certainly were formed through horrific experiences but our plurality isn't a disorder now. we've learned to cooperate and manage our life in ways such that plurality HELPS us cope with the things in life (eg anxiety, depression, adhd) that are actually getting in the way of our ability to function.
hot takes about endogenics:
i am anti-endo in the sense that I don't believe in non-disordered systems and am against intention creations of systems, but am pro-endo on whether or not a system can exist without trauma (but only in a very nuancrf way).
allow me to elaborate.
if it were possible for someone to be an endogenic system, as in a system not caused by trauma, they would still be experiencing dissociation in some way. alters are dissocative parts. that means it would still be a dissociative disorder. i am not against the idea of systems that are not caused by trauma, but i am against the idea that they are not caused by a disorder.
dissociation is not inherently caused by trauma. i believe that it could be possible to have a dissocative disorder that looks a lot like a system i the way it does in DID/OSDD, even one that is self created (which i am against, as creating yourself a dissociative disorder is not a good idea). but it is inherently a disordered experience and i am completely anti-endo in the sense that i am against the idea that plurality is a non-disordered experience. it would not be like did/osdd in the sense that it would not be a developmental trauma response disorder, but the disorder could involve a system. but a system means dissociative parts, and that means disorder.
theres several dissociative disorders in the dsm which people include with discussing systems. just because it is under researched does not mean that it is impossible for another disorder that includes non-traumagenic systems does not exist.
there's even a type of osdd that includes people who have a dissociative disorder that formed in adulthood, although their alters are as a result of identity confusion as opposed to fragmented identities. but i do believe that could be considered a system, as can other experiences like it
however, as a critical subpoint:
I am fully against the intentional self creation of a system. tulpamancy is a closed practice so that is awful within its own right, but any form of self-created system is incredibly harmful. this includes trying to increase dissociation between various aspects of yourself, such as your "work self" and "home self", as well as trying to create new headmate in any form. im against the idea of anyone trying to intentionally give themselves a disorder at all.
i as mentioned, i am against the endogenic community as a whole for a variety of reasons. a rapid fire not extensive list includes:
- their support of the idea of non-disordered systems
- their ableism towards the idea of "being disordered"
- their support of self-created systems
- how a lot of them seem to reaffirm and intentionally trigger delusions. a lot of them see no issues with telling people who experience hallucinations and psychosis that they are a system because they "hear voices" and that those voices have "self agency". no. no no no. no.
- the large amounts of misinformation they spread
yall are free to tell me your thoughts on this though. i always accept that i can be wrong /gen
- Mikey

New York City has long been a cultural hub -- of America and of the world. When it comes to mutants it is no different. In a city of millions of diverse people, it is easy -- or, at least, easier -- for a feared and hated minority to have a chance at blending in. From all over the world mutants have flocked to the city, hoping for a chance at a normal life. With registration looming, though, that blending in is getting harder. Anti-mutant sentiment is reaching a fever pitch. While most mutants -- and most humans -- just want to keep their heads down and live a quiet life, there are those on both sides of the fight gearing up for what they see as an enormous threat to their way of life.

i didn't misread the post, i was adding to the post and clarifying what people are talking about when they talk about white people experiencing racism. no white people experience racism for being white. talking about white jews experiencing antisemitism as if this is a contradiction to the rule and something we ought to Have A Conversation about therefore is... simply a non sequitur. antisemitism is its own thing, and we can talk about that! it already covers the bigotry jews face.
“white people can’t experience racism” is incredibly harmful to white passing jews who experience racism every single day for their jewishness but y’all aren’t willing to have that conversation.

they're experiencing antisemitism for being jewish, not experiencing racism for being white.
white people cannot experience anti-white racism. that isn't a thing. we don't need to "have that conversation" because there's still no world in which white people experience racism because they are white.
“white people can’t experience racism” is incredibly harmful to white passing jews who experience racism every single day for their jewishness but y’all aren’t willing to have that conversation.

the marvel roleplay discord i play on has been engaged in a discussion of just how ridiculous Online Discourse in the x men universe would get and how it would affect various subcultures.
like in a universe where often brightly colored hair comes with a mutation, would people be more or less likely to dye their hair bright colors? would that be seen as ~edgier~ than it currently is irl since mutants are looked down on in society? or would it be something people do as an attempt to show their support? would there be callouts of appropriation for people who aren't mutants who dye hair bright and what would THAT rabbit hole look like?
would furries be more or less of a thing in a world where some people do have mutations that give them animalistic features, and it causes them a Ton of discrimination in society? how would the mutant community and the furry community get along? COMPLICATEDLY, we suspect!

As of 12/8/21, Kellogg's has broken off negotiations with their striking union workers and is electing to permanently replace the strikers. So needless to say, don't support strike breaking: don't buy Kellogg's products. Besides breakfast cereals, Kellogg's makes Cheez-Its, Pringles, and owns Kashi. I'm sure there's more that I'm not aware of, so if the hive mind wants to add to the list, please do.
TL;DR Don't buy Kellogg's products

lmao there's literally zero reason to assume one way or the other that tessa thompson would care at all about calling her queer, she has literally not called herself bisexual, pansexual, queer, or any other label, but given that she's explicitly expressed her love and support and "vibrating on the same frequency" as janelle monáe who does explicitly, specifically, call herself a queer black woman it's pure projection for y'all rando yts on tumblr to decide that it's some kind of hate crime to call her queer instead of bisexual.
like... also you could call her none of those things because she hasn't called herself any of those things and there's zero reason to decide label choices for a real-ass person but if you're going to stick a label on her that she hasn't publicly stated for herself y'all are 100% projecting your own hatred pretending that she'd clearly be offended by one extremely common term over the other.
