He watched her with no shortage of disinterest. A flick of his gaze beyond her betrayed how he considered merely side stepping her and the rest of their encounter and continuing on his merry way. After a beat, he exhaled another sigh and looked for her beaming smile with a fatigued expression of his own.

❝ Does that work usually? What you're doing right now? The...ego bruising thing or whatever? ❞ he gave pause long enough for her to consider a reply but not quite long enough for her to actually get a decent one in.

❝ You could be like anyone else and just shoot at me. I feel like killing me would be a better GOTCHA move than taking my pocket candy. ❞

She was vague on the whereabouts of whoever it was she was after and he couldn't blame her. On the rare chance he encountered someone friendly or at least neutral, neither party did much in terms of disclosing any useful information. This was work, this was business. No matter how friendly or not you might have been with others in the scene, they were ultimately still competition by the end of the day.

Bubbles was, apparently, chatty. He wasn't exactly a one-word wonder like some in the field were, but he hardly was the sort to stand and chat it up. He had things to do, places to be.
