It’s 5am, in a warehouse, in Te Aro (10:00pm in my bed but who’s counting) and I’ve finally finished watching all of Fantasy High Junior Year! I’ve loved this season so much, and I have at least 4 other unfinished sketches, but this idea came to me one night and it simply had to be drawn. Now, before anyone comes at me for not making Kristen The Moon, I have reasons! Namely, the star represents hope after tragedy, coming directly after The Tower in the major arcana, and something about that just feels so right to me so ye.

Anyway, this drawing is a love letter to the show, it’s helped get me through a Bad Time (I’m still in that but still) and I just want to make more art to show my love. I also tried some funky lighting stuff with this, not sure I love it but it’s good enough!

Also, little fun fact about me: I collect tarot cards, and got very into doing readings until I did multiple readings that predicted disaster and loss that fully came true and I have not done a reading since. Still love the cool cards though

Fantasy High Junior Year is happening so soon!!! I don’t think I’ve mentioned it before, but Fantasy High was the first D&D show I watched, and obviously Dimension 20 on the whole is very special to me! I wanted to draw something for the new season, I’ll probably draw more but for now at least here’s a spooky little nerd! Honestly, I’ve been struggling with watching recent D20 stuff, not because of their content, just generally having trouble watching long form stuff, but I really want to watch this season! Oh, and this’ll be available on my redbubble asap!

Yeah, I’m alive still. Sorry I was gone for so long, I’ve had a really bad bout of depression and am still clawing my way out. For now though, have this fun drawing.

My mom is staying with me post op, she’s been a great help overall but it’s been unexpectedly funny as she is grading papers for her class (she lectures in psychology at Waikato university) while I’m resting and RIP to whoever’s paper she’s grading now because the noises she’s making are not good

Here’s a sketch dump of depressing shit for you. My iPad is still being repaired, so I’m stuck with traditional drawing for now. I’ve been using it as a way to illustrate some emotions I’ve been having lately, they’re complicated and confusing and I can’t articulate them properly so drawing is my fallback.

To explain myself a little: I have problems with my back, I guess like a lot of trans guys, probably stemming from the fact I wear a binder for about 10 hours a day, 5 days a week (I know that’s bad and I absolutely do not endorse this behaviour), and I’ve run into the diagnosis of “referred pain” for just about everything. These drawings specifically are about how at night, when I’ve been particularly bad to my back, my leg will start hurting so much I can’t sleep. It’s a big problem for me, so much so I’ve illustrated it multiple times. Also, you know when something hurts so much you can feel your heartbeat in a place you normally can’t? Just me?

The other drawings are more reflections of emotions rather than physical pain. I’ve got stuff going on that’s leading to a lot of stress and confusion, hopefully the results are something I’ll share soon, but right now I’m just comfortable sharing this.

So yeah, sorry for the dump, just had some stuff I needed to put out into the void.

Hello. Yeah, I’ve been gone for a while… to sum it up; my iPad fully gave up on me (I was able to back it up but it no longer functions) and from there my mental health took a dramatic downswing. It wasn’t just because of that, there’s a lot of other stuff piling up, but that was the last straw. This here was one of the final drawings I did on my iPad, It was supposed to be a new profile pic for pride month, but now I’m kind of left with nothing. I have a drawing tablet that I can use with my computer, but it’s hard to go backwards. Anyway, here’s something to prove I’m still alive.

Hello! I know it’s been a bit but in my defence my iPad has basically stopped connecting to wifi entirely so I’m not able to post anything I draw… but I did finally get the rare full day of wifi connection to post these sketches! First up is a happy Hunter from episode 1 of season 3, and the second two slides are the good old ghost of your sins Caleb from episode 2. I at first did a straight up screenshot redraw, but then decided to add my spin on what he would actually look like as a ghost, less kid-show-appropriate lol. Also, I’m not up to date with any news/spoilers for the next episode, so please don’t spoil anything thanks

are goblins (Like in dnd) inherently antisemetic or does it despend on you you design/write them?

I have no idea how to respond to this. I mean, part of me wants to say that goblins represent Orthodox Jews, hobgoblins are Conservative Jews and centaurs are Reform Jews, while gryphons are Mormons, gnomes are Baptists, garden gnomes are Anabaptists, Minotaurs are Seventh Day Adventists and Kobolds are Christian Scientists. Catholics are boggarts and Buddhists are Brownies and Jainists are Pixies while Unitarians are undoubtedly represented by mermaids...

But some people would think I was being silly. And worse, others might think I was being serious.

No, goblins are just goblins, pixies are pixies. Fairies and other such creatures represent themselves. Which isn't to say that you couldn't take the attributes that various hate groups attribute to hated minorities and give them to a group of mythic or folkloric creatures. All your pixies could have hooked noses, be untrustworthy, obsessed by money, and have a secret conspiracy organized by the Elders of Pixiedom and yeah, that would be creepy and consciously or unconsciously antisemitic. But that's on you as an author, not on the pixies.

I saw a post talking about the game changer s5 finale and my Tumblr REFRESHED before I could like it or reblog it but anyways.

The post essentially said that this last episode has the same vibes of Fetch! With Ruff Ruffman, and I just wanna say-

Sorry for the photo dump, but I wanted to share some photos from GGWP last weekend! I finally put together the rest of my Mollymauk cosplay just in time for this awesome local con! It was my first time entering a cosplay parade and contest, and I ended up coming 3rd in my category! I’m honestly so happy with how the cosplay turned out, and I absolutely love these photos from the parade! I’m still pretty awkward at posing for photos, but I think there was a moment here where a switch flipped and I started feeling comfortable as the Circus Man. I’ll post more of the professional photos another time, but I wanted to show off these first! Oh, and the photographer’s name is at the bottom of the photos!

Finally had a chance to wear my Mollymauk coat a couple days ago to Armageddon! It was super fun, I met so many lovely people who were all so nice about my cosplay! It wasn’t the full costume, just the coat, wig, and horns really with no body/face paint, but I was so happy to finally wear this coat considering it took over a year to make lol.

I went to the con alone, so I don’t have any good photos, but I should be getting some soon! A photographer took a couple cool shots and they said they’d share them soon on a local cosplay Facebook, so I’ll post them when I get them! For now though, I do have this cool 360 shot that a radio station was doing for free (hence the branding in the bottom corner) to share!

A sketch page for y’all! My obsession with The Owl House continues, and this latest episode was just so good! I find myself once again relating to Luz way too much, specifically with her relationship to her mom. I’m really close with my mom, and she’s always been as supportive as she can about my interests, also I literally came out to her with a slideshow? I didn’t know this was a thing that other people did but cool? I used a slideshow to come out as NB but still… anyway, I had fun drawing these, there’s still so much I want to draw from this episode, I’ll definitely be doing some more polished stuff sometime soon, but also I just moved and need to unpack so idk how much time I’ll actually have whoops…

One of my favourite D&D experiences thus far has to be when we brought in a new person part of the way through my current campaign, and she immediately made a joke that had become our running gag and we all got so excited. The pure joy emanating from us was unmatched
