Totally agree!

I think that as an ISB agent in the position he held on Lothal, Kallus probably had to attend political dinners on occasion. It's considered a perk of the job, but Kallus would usually just be daydreaming the whole dinner about Rebels breaking in, causing havoc and ruining the dinner, giving him an excuse to pursue work he found much more interesting

Here it is, my Agent Kallus edit to Javert's "Stars" from Les Misérables!

Javert and Kallus are such similar characters in so many ways. The difference is that while Kallus was finally able to break out of his cognitive dissonance after being saved/spared by his mortal enemy, in Javert's case it broke him instead.

It's a cruel twist of fate that while David Oyelowo has in fact played Javert as well, it was in a TV adaptation of the book rather than the musical, otherwise we'd have Kallus' own voice singing this song!

honestly thinking about the Javert/Kallus parallels makes me so insane because like. what if their fates were reversed?

what if Javert realised the error of his ways and chose to help Valjean and his family instead (and maybe fell in love along the way)?

what if Kallus couldn't cope with Zeb's mercy, couldn't reconcile his cognitive dissonance, and killed himself rather than change his views?

man. Javert is such an immensely, utterly tragic villain. even the hardest parts of Kallus' arc are practically sunshine and rainbows in comparison to Javert's end.
