This is your reminder lesbian is not a bad word. Lesbian is not a dirty.

I used to be so concerned about calling myself a lesbian because of all the discourse online about who can use the word lesbian, and I’m here to tell you, literally no one cares about discourse in real life. No one can actually stop you from calling yourself a lesbian.

And if you are unsure about if you are a lesbian, just try using it. Even just to yourself. You can always change your mind later. If it turns out you are actually bi or trans or something else that’s okay, that’s a totally valid way to figure out who you are.

I used to say I was bi for a long time and then one day I just started calling myself a lesbian with the idea I could take it back if I wanted to, and well I just never did.

I say this because there is so much lesbophobia and so little lesbian visibility and many people think it is uncomfortable to say lesbian, but I think the more we start saying lesbian in a casual way the more normalised it becomes.

I was in the Woolworths in Carlton yesterday which I’m pretty sure is Troye Sivan’s supermarket when he is in Melbourne and they were playing Youth on the speakers. Maybe this is why he hates Youth 😂

Everyone talks about cramming 12weeks of lectures for exams, not enough people talk about having to read 12 weeks worth of readings for an assignment because turns out those required readings I “read” for class every week is actually relevant for the assignment worth 50% of my grade

Yes the books were popular at the time, but the movies made the trajectory of Harry Potter longer and more worldwide. And Daniel was the face of them for a whole decade. I'd say a lot more kids read the books because of the movies

Connor Franta is on Shannon Beveridge’s podcast talking about his past relationship with a youtuber/singer (if you know you know who) and I think it’s funny that nobody is talking about it, because honestly from someone who was in the trenches of the gay YouTuber tumblr era of 2010s, this is more unexpected to me than Shannon talking about Fletcher. If I in 2015/2016 heard Connor talking publicly about this I would have lost my damn mind. This is like Dan and Phil being openly gay on their gaming. I feel like I shouldn’t be hearing this.

Um depressing news I just found out you have to PAY a subscription to use GeoGuessr now??? This has ruined my day. You know how much time i wasted in school playing this game instead of studying for exams!! I’m teaching geography this week at my placement and I absolutely was going to play it with my class to teach my first geography lesson. And now I can’t!!

They also don't give shows a chance to become good. A lot of the best shows, I'm thinking sitcoms like Parks and Recs, The Office, New Girl even Friends, have pretty ordinary pilot seasons. But having longer seasons allows actors to get to know their characters and build chemistry btw each other. And it's that chemistry plus writers being able to write for the actors playing their characters that turns these shows from mediocre to the best. But now shows get cancelled before they have the chance to get to that stage.

genuinely one of the worst things that’s happened to television in the last few years (exacerbated by streaming services) is death of Filler. going from 20 episodes to 8 because “we didn’t really need that episode where the main characters went to the beach right? it had no long lasting effect” but we DID!!! we needed to see how they act without the Big Bad Plot and to establish the dynamics between the characters and lay in the sun (do they forget sunscreen? how do they react to a thieving seagull? do they get buried in the sand or do they do the burying?). the plot isn’t everything. the action doesn’t hit as hard without the quiet moments. give us character development and our little scenes back

I’m no Taylor Swift fan and I get some Swifties are annoying but do you know who is more irritating than Swifties? The grown adults getting mad and complaining about people going to Taylor Swift concerts and posting about their experience on instagram and acting like it’s the end of music. Like why are you so mad that someone else spent their OWN money on something they are going to enjoy???
