Hello! (Have some art to look at if you don’t wanna read -w-) For my media arts class I’ve been assigned a write up/artist statement to give some info on me so here we go! Currently I am a high school student looking to graduate college and become a concept artist or 3D animator for video game development. The reason I got into art was at first a little escape from work, a break from thinking too hard as it became a way for me to express how I feel without the need for people to always be around to listen. Over time it evolved into a hobby, something I truly enjoy doing in my free time. Whether it be to clear my head or simply get an idea out onto a canvas I love projecting my imagination into the lives of others.  Although I grew up on traditional methods of drawing, I’ve grown to love and appreciate digital art more, I love the color freedom without having to sharpen pencils or buy new markers when they run dry. The freedom of the digital canvas seems less daunting than the commitment traditional drawing takes and it lets me be a bit more carefree and take risks with my drawings.  While recording a recent speed paint of the drawing above- which is currently my personal favorite drawing so far- I’ve noticed some habits I have while drawing digitally. First of all I always start my line art with the hair over my character’s face, and with coloring I strictly use the airbrush to achieve a blended, gradient with soft tones and fantasy like environments. My art tends to include heavy saturation with dark undertones, typically it holds deeper meaning but I like to leave that up to the audience to decide. I hope to show people that art can be both an escape and a message, I want people to look at my art and not only feel something out of it but become inspired to create something of their own. Throughout Media arts I have learned my art style, it’s changed the most these past few months and is finally starting to gain some consistency, I’ve improved on my shading, line art, working process and my ability to come up with a concept rather quickly. With this new development I hope to challenge myself with more realistic drawings, and with drawings that will develop my anatomy skills as well.

Hello again! Here’s some more work for my media arts class! (The quality appears to be ruined on tumblr, I’m not sure how to fix this...) Programs: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop Canvas size: 8x8 Inches I’ve created the seasons in the form of vector illustrations, subtle hybridization and simple animations (Duration). I wanted to give the seasons opposite each other a similar vibe. So for Spring and fall, I have them both the same type of hair with slight differences, elven ears, and a gem like shape on their chests. They also both face the same direction and have their hybrid factors on the bottom of the canvas. For summer and winter, I decided to give them move a profile perspective with closed eyes and horns. The hybrid layer is also on the top of the canvas. Their personalities are meant to depict the general nature of the season, Spring is spontaneous and wondrous while fall is calm and serious. Summer holds a harsh attitude while winter gives in and succumbs to the cold weather. I gave them each a symbol that relates to their season and animated them as if it was a screensaver. Spring got Sakura blossoms, Summer has beach balls, Fall has acorns and Winter has snowflakes.

I’m back with another media arts project! This one is titled- Curiosity This is a combination of fairy lights, a Yoshinon figure and a little Buddha snow globe I had in my house.

To be honest I could have done a much better job on this one but I struggled really hard with the composite factor, I hope to improve on this sort of art in the future. Made with Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.
