Are You Listening?

So little mystery in the world today.

Everyone wants to know everything about everybody and yet no one's listening. A person tells you their life story but you're not listening to their woes - you've already planted your life inside their story - judging, postponing events that you can't fathom or see or understand or care to comprehend. You've already determined what aspects of their story is purposeful, real, or fake or at best exaggerated. You've made your decision based on what you "think" you know to be true and what you even bothered to hear but are you listening?

Like, really, Listening?

Actually, some people, may not be saying a damn thing.

But that's the noise we must decipher through or the rhetoric we must weave out so the stories we really need to hear don't escape us.

So, are you listening?

Work in progress with gouache paints for Brushtober last week. I’m actually struggling with the medium as its my first time using it. I guess I’ll need to paint a few paintings carelessly just to have fun and get a hold of the medium instead of trying hard and getting anxious! Glad that I came across this quote by G.K. Chesterton that was much needed “Anything worth doing is worth doing badly the first time.”
